[Guild Event Signups] Between Scylla and Charybdis

Delvic skipped merrily up the gangplank and grinned widely in his excitement. He waved to the crew of the Saving Goddess, and then frowned as he noted that he was one of the first people to arrive. Del wandered aboard his guild’s ship. He quickly began to assist in the preparations of the ship. As he dashed here and there an older sailor who was looking to the loading called out to him with a laugh “Get up the rigging you spry little bugger, be sure to be of use little one.”
Del saluted from the top sail to the kind old shipman smiling at his teasing. Del knew the old sailor from his time learning to sail, after he had bought his ship, he had taken to the library to study, and the old man had laughed at him and taken to teaching him. Delvic skittered all around being helpful, until he found something to do, or someone to talk to.

Delvic had already settled himself by the time the music had began. Sitting among the topsail Del pulled out a book and began to read as the music lightly trilled. Del hardly noticed the rest of the members gathering below him he hummed and flitted through the chapters of the mystery novel already piecing together the identity of the killer.

He shifted his body to better catch the shifting light, and he fell. Del glanced around in shock as he began to tumble he feet becoming caught in the rigging. His book hit the deck below as he dangled above the many cushioned chairs. Delvic let out a little shout as he "hung around" crying in embarrassment "Help!"

Zack was not the type to wait in line or wait at all in fact. However, as he normally arrived early he was one of the first in and didn't have to wait too long. He was sat down on one of the cushions in his new white clothing. His appearance would get quite a few pointed fingers and stares. He might not be an ace of blue pegasus like some, but he was a wizard saint. The newest member of their rank in fact. Plus his eyepatch and clothing style often drew attention as did the small glowing orb on his left shoulder.

"I wonder how long we'll be waiting." Zack said to himself, but also to the orb. His gaze looked up at the ship. He'd had a fascination with it for a while for one reason and one reason only. One day he wanted to be fired out of those cannons. He could just imagine the rush. Sure it might break his legs if he didn't reinforce them, but where was the fun without a little risk.

"Well if its longer than a minute you'll get bored." the green orb replied causing Zack to smile. "You really do need to get some patience. Its a virtue you know. I thought your body's destruction would of made you understand that a bit more." Zack shrugged.

"It was a risk I knew about before I took on that beast." he said closing his eye and leaning back. Maybe he should try and sleep whilst he waited? "Besides, it had come back for a rematch so who was I to turn it down." The orb faded revealing a small red-haired, armored woman with a spear on her back. She had a big smile on her face.

"You're one of a kind Zack."
