'Sometimes... this job is boring me to death ya know'
Sighing loudly at the end of his sentence, Jonathan a freshly new guard that had been replacing a guardsmen who had found his untimely demise a month earlier. Clearly showed how bored he was with his new job, surely it was a lot better then patrolling the swamps around the guild all the time. But it was a lot more boring. And he hadn't even started yet.
'Be thankful, its a lot more safer then outside' responded his fellow guardsmen who was walking with him towards their job.
Jonathan could only smirk a bit, remembering on how he got this job. The former guardsman was a gluttonous blob, that even swallowed a member whole. Which even lead to his untimely demise, as the mage managed to survived inside the guard. And eventually clawed out of him. So the theory that inside the guild was safe, was entirely bogus. In fact Jonathan believed firmly that being inside the guild could prove to be more unhealthy then sulking in the swamps all the time.
Which was a bit ironic, as Jonathan didn't even knew what was waiting for him at the end of his destination. Naturally being a guardsmen his job was to guard, however lately his guarding job had become a bit more promising as he was about the stand in front of Harrigan's office. The master of the guild. And currently out to another guild, for some rather aggressive diplomacy. Taking with him the large brutes which were his usual guard. Surely it could be considered an honor, yet Jonathan failed to see the importance of guarding a room, where the master wasn't even there.
'Strange..' he said out loud 'normally we would have seen the other guards coming back by now'
'hmmppf' Maybe they're doing a proper job for once' responded his colleague
As Jonathan closed in on the last corner, he couldn't help to think something was amiss. The ones in the shift before him, mostly came back earlier. Encountering each other on the way. Yet till now still haven't seen anything.
'Yeah right.. have you even..... what the hell?!'
Now standing around the corner, Jonathan witnessed an horrific sight. In front of him, laid the two guards who they were supposed to release from their shift. Well, what was left of them at least. Next to a shattered door, were scattered the several limbs and guts of what were their colleagues. Some even were hung around as if they were ornaments for some birthday party.
But what was more concerning then their dead comrades, was the rather ominous text written with their blood on the wall behind them.
'Jonathan!!! Sound the alarm!! We've been infiltrated!!'
The Event
Timing couldn't be worse, the master along with some of his best forces. Have left the guild on a diplomatic mission with another dark guild. Leaving the chain of command to Second in Command and Pillar heads.
However during his absence, we've been infiltrated by an unknown source. Leaving the only hint we have the text they'd left behind on the wall.
The master's chambers are in ruins, and the total numbers of infiltrators is unknown. One thing is sure, they knew the guild. And knew how to get inside. And now its up to the mages left behind to protect their domain against the unknown danger.
