Every fortnight, this golden griffin would swoop upon the village, using its powerful claws to snatch its prey - livestock, pets, and even small children fell prey to this beast. Desperate for peace, the villagers sent out a request for a warrior to come to save their village. And so, one did, a powerful mage came to the village, waiting for the night upon which the Golden Griffin would attack.
And as the griffin swooped down upon the village, the warrior engaged in a fierce battle, one that nearly cost them their life. Persevering relentlessly in their battle, the warrior bested the Griffin and killed the creature - ending its reign of terror for good. Thankful, the villagers rejoiced, celebrating the warrior for bringing them peace. In thanks, the villagers took the remains of the golden griffin, fashioning a cloak with it, gifting it to the warrior in appreciation for bringing them the harmony they so longed for. Little did they know that the feathers of the griffin would contain the griffin's magical strength and bring a fearsome power to any who wears it.[/color]

Once a few days before the year ends, they’d uphold a ritual of cheer and good tidings amongst themselves, with a bountiful feast to celebrate the year, the children receiving toys. The sky would be filled with dancing lights of the Aurora as a gift for the tribesmen, a heartfelt gift from the dragon as a sign of their friendship: A light to banish the absolute darkness of the night, making the starry sky even more beautiful. It was all within the dragon’s power, or so it was said, as this valiant dragon who watches over his snowy domain is nothing but a myth. A legend.
Evidence of this tribe’s existence was debated centuries past, ultimately concluding that it was nothing but a fairy tale. However, a team of adventurers set out for treasure in the snow-laden wastelands of the north, eventually finding a lacrima with magical power so dense that the same dancing lights would fill the frozen cave it was found in. This may or may not be evidence of the dragon’s existence, as later, they would find their wishes come true in one way or another, although fleeting if not in the possession of this lacrima.[/color]

This, however, has not always been the case, the country's northern coast remembered in times long since passed for its idyllic fjords and natural glaciers of unparalleled beauty. Nature existed in harmony with the creatures and people of the land. Then, however, calamity struck, and the frigid temperatures usually limited only to the year's end conquered the lush forests and rich mountains in a flash, obliterating everything in its path and burying it among clashing sheets of ice and snow, extinguishing the flame of life with the cold of winter.
Nature wept for its children, countless many existences perishing in the dimming aurora lights that shone through an onset of eternal night. Not even the balance of the world could withstand the force of the destruction, and so, nature would fall silent and weep no more, frozen still like so many others, but not without shedding a tear. This tear, the coalesced essence of the memories from before, formed into a curious crystallization of magic, buried beneath the northern snow for centuries only to be unearthed by chance many years after its creation, a faint glimmer of hope that one day, nature may return to Iceberg and banish the frozen hell.[/color]

[color=#dcf011]The elements have always lived in a delicate balance that could spell destruction for not only the world they make up, but the people relying on them to survive. The avatars of the elements were once said to be praised like gods by several tribes within Tetsukazu, with independent and mixed shrines and temples for prayers and offerings dedicated to each element. One tribe had been gifted an orb by those avatars that would not only protect them but would give them what they needed to survive. Over time, though, the tribe forgot the origins of the orb, viewing the gifts it offered them as nothing more than superstitious nonsense. The sorrow of the elemental avatars started to show as, within the orb, cracks started to show, the balance it once held becoming chaotic.
Eventually, the cracks became so apparent that no matter how much the tribe now prayed, the elements turned a deaf ear to the pleas of those they once loved so dearly. As punishment for their overindulgence, the elements had turned on them. Soon there was torrential rain that caused the rivers to swell and mudslides to devastate the countryside. The whirlwinds they'd wielded, which had protected them from predators, now turned on them, taking their shelter, and the nearby volcano that had been dormant for so long now once again became active, destroying everything in its path. The fate of this tribe has never been found and so to this day is shrouded in mystery.[/color]
