Dust Eagles lack color, resembling the very color of smoldering ashes and possessing piercing white eyes, while their form mimics that of a phoenix, albeit switching slenderness for a more powerful physique. Their trust is hard-earned, but once a Dust Eagle bonds with its owner, it will serve them with utmost loyalty.[/color]

Even more confusing still, the one holding this item, if peering into the flame for too long, will bear witness to the appearance of a shape that resembles facial features, which contort almost as if in constant agony and pain, screaming without sound. Where this thing came from or what it is, no one knows, and indeed, no one can ever know, for that is the way the Voidstrider's Torch functions, which is, of course, also not known. Confused yet? Think of it simply as a handy little item formed of nothing more than a tear in the existence of universal continuity and the fabric of space-time. Simple, right?[/color]

We have tried, and tried, and tried again, but it just won't stabilize. The frame is formidable, I would even go so far as to call it perfect, just like the two before them, despite its unconventional design, but that is not the issue. The chamber has accepted the Lacrima we provided readily enough. When we attempted to start the generator, however, the Lacrima at first provided no magical power at all, and when we tried increasing the energy reflection by supplying it with our own magic to catalyze the reaction, the Lacrima core went critical in an instant. It took all our combined effort, as well as a 48-hour submerge in cooling liquid to stabilize the core again. The Lacrima we used to test the first two prototypes had been the ones found in that lab, and this was the first one utilized independently from the old fool's research. Does it really make that much of a difference? What makes these other Lacrimas so special? If all else fails, we will have to send another team to Bosco for measures of direct reconnaissance.

The team returned from Bosco this morning, reporting that they have completed their objective. They have indeed procured another Lacrima, the last one, I understand, but the mission was compromised. The Sergeant I questioned made it clear that they not only encountered enemy forces on-site, but he further reports 3 casualties, 1 of which they could not recover and had to leave behind in Bosco. Apparently, they had placed this last piece of the old fool's research under constant surveillance after the last incident, understandable, really, but most regrettable. Let's hope that this complication does not inhibit the progress of this project. Still, the fact remains that, with this Lacrima now in our possession, there is nothing that stops up from completing this third prototype. From the powerful sounds to the intimidating melody, the creature conjured from the sea of ethernano was made manifest with a will of its own, materializing as a majestic knight clad in ivory white armor and golden intricate regalia with his face obscured in mystery underneath the helmet. Yet briefly, after the creature appeared, it opened a gate to a place with light so bright you can’t see inside it, and thereafter the Emperor disappeared, leaving behind a gilded key.
The key manifested as a golden ornate key with a ruby embed and a black shaft, and in a way resembled a wizard’s, or a conductor’s, wand. One would normally be able to sense the magic within it, but over the decades and centuries, not one wizard was able to sense its magic. The maestro’s key had been passed down for generations, bid by the wealthiest of wizards, and auctioned off every few decades or so. Now, however, worthy wizards are born, all of whom are able to tell that the key is unique in every way. Being in possession of this key will bestow upon the wizard its secrets to summoning the Emperor.
By uttering a phrase unique to both the summoner and the Emperor and waving the key as if it was a conductor's wand, an ornate gate of gold and rubies is summoned, the summoner being surrounded by a stream of red and gold ribbons. The doors burst open as a 7 foot tall Emperor clad in black and gold steps out, during which the key transforms into a conductor’s wand and the ribbons disperse to reveal the summoner in a special conductor's attire tailored to its current outfit. The summoner is then able to give orders to the Emperor through the waving of the wand.[/color]

These grotesque spirits walk the world unseen by its mortal inhabitants and guide other animals to the afterlife when they pass. While they rarely interfere with the mortal realm, they can choose to make themselves seen. Their reasons for revealing themselves are a mystery, but those who have seen them claim that the presence of the Grimm filled them with both an intense sense of peace as well as an overwhelming feeling of dread.
The Wolf is one such Grimm, though this Grimm, in particular, has taken a keen interest in the world of the living beyond merely facilitating the transfer of the souls of other animals to life beyond the veil. Rather, the Wolf has elected to become more actively involved on the mortal plane, and every millennium or so it reveals itself to a mortal to whom it chooses to be a long term companion until such a time as the mortal perishes, fighting by their side and being a silent guide until it is time for the mortal to make their own journey into the beyond. From there, the Wolf returns to silently stalking the earth until it finds a new companion, and the cycle begins anew.[/color]

Unable to ignore the compulsion, the teenager dove at the point in question and found the weapon. In a cruel twist of fate, that same night a home intruder broke into the youth's home and discovered the machete. The home intruder killed the youth and his family with the machete, then went on a killing spree that ended only after over forty people were killed over the course of a week.
While the Murderous Machete might look like a rusty piece of junk, it has somehow retained a sharp edge despite resting at the bottom of a lake for several years. The machete is possessed by a murderous malice that allows it to harm both mundane and supernatural targets. Furthermore, its abilities allow the user to cut through armor and magical shields to deal debilitating damage to their target and to temporarily take on some of the uncanny toughness of the machete's original wielder. Whoever wields the Murderous Machete will be a close-combat nightmare for their opponents.[/color]

For generations, people have kept the culture and business of fishing alive, making their livelihoods on the seaside. But, long ago, when the island was first settled, a legend came to be born that was passed down through the generations. The newest generations don't believe in its truth, but this cloak is proof that the legend is true.
Seals used to occupy the shores of this island. When the first fishermen came along, they had to scare the seals away every day in order to catch enough fish. The humans and seals were in direct competition. The rocky harmony between the two species didn't last very long. Fishermen began to kill the seals, clubbing their young and harpooning the adults. As one young man discovered, though, these were no ordinary seals. They were selkies, a magical creature that could take on human form from their usual seal form. A female selkie called him to the beach one night, standing on the sand as a human. In her hands was a piece of perfect seal skin, her own skin that allowed for the transformation between forms.
The selkie woman begged him to cease the killing and make peace between their people. She asked the wrong man, for he stole away her seal skin, forcing her to remain human. He hid the skin and the woman had no choice but to live among the fishing people. The other selkies migrated to another island to save themselves, and she was left with her captors, staring longingly at the sea from her cottage every day. It didn't take long before she passed. A few years later, the man had decided to make the selkie skin into a cloak for his son, forgetting that it was not normal seal skin. It appeared indestructible and gave the boy many fantastic abilities.[/color]

[color=#0099cc]Dullahan’s progeny awaken their eyes rather early on in life; like their forebearer, they have no trouble seeing in the dark, and will never feel their eyesight thwarted by natural means. They can manifest a second head separated from their bodies in the form of a blazing pumpkin, through which they can perceive the world as if it were their very own eyes. As such, they gain a permanent 100% increase to their base Spell Range and base Spell Speed.[/color]

[color=#0099cc]For some unexplainable reason the Dullahan’s progeny will find themselves encountering many riches and lost items upon their journeys, seemingly left behind by their previous owners. The user gains a 100% increase in jewel rewards from jobs, or may deny this jewel increase to find an additional piece of equipment of equal value as a job reward instead. The grade of said item follows job reward regulations.[/color]
