Its a New Day (Open to OM)

Sol Yawned as he woke up in his castle above the Province of Myazhe, he went thru his morning rituals which involved dressing and a simple meal with tea before he gave the servents their orders for the day and then headed down to the town to see how things were doing right now.even with his work at the company Sol always made sure to leave time in his day to check on the people of the province and see how they were fairing and if anything could be improved, when he was asked about this by co workers the dragon merely replied that he was a king and a good king listens to his people.

As he descended down to the village the dragon king found that all was calm and the people were happy and greeting him with a smile as he greeted people and he had others offering their wares to him to sample and for him to have and while he would sample some he would turn down others nicely, however Sol got the feeling something was going to happen at some point and he could only wonder what.

Starting Appearance:

Lucy strolled the Dragon King's village, mentally noting to herself, it would be wise to consider these mortal off the menu as much as any mortal on Tolgalen was. Aranea paused and laughed a little at herself. That was the first time she had caught herself thinking of the people around her as meals in a little while. Perhaps it was all this time she was spending under the guise of Lucy Van Pelt. Maybe it wasn't so much of just alias anymore, but a true second identity. The way she'd been thinking of herself as Lucy lately, it really was.

All that aside, she knew she'd eventually have to fly back to the mainland to go hunting. Today though, she could just enjoythe new peace she had found. She decided to peruse the village market to see of she could find anything for her room. It was a bit spartan at the moment, mostly because she hadn't really worried about decor since she left the Celestial Spirit realm.

While looking over some pies, Lucy spotted Sol out greetikg his people. The blonde mage smiled and waved across the way, "Hey! Looking good, Mister King!"

Sol took a puff of his Precious Kiseru as he moved thru the village, he was clad in a elegant yet simple Kimono and matching Hakama Pants that were black with green markings on them which accented his ruby red eyes even more, the Villagers were quick to greet him and he would greet them back in kind. Before long though the dragon king caught the scent of someone he knew and the dragon in child form approached as she called out to him and told him he looked good. Sol smiled a bit and nodded before he bowed to her in greething.”Hello Lucy you seem to be doing rather well at the moment” he said before one of the villagers a little girl approaching him curiously.

“Sol Sama who is this person?” she asked as Sol looked at her with kind eyes and gently ruffled her hair.”This is Lucy and she is a Guildmate of mine at the Trading Company she is a friend” he explained as the little girl smiled at him and nodded before she headed back to her mother who waved at Sol who waved back.”do you like my Province I found this place and set up my castle here. The people here are from Midi and hold Dragons in a very high regard” he explained before he went on.”They saw my visit as a blessing and invited me in so generously offering me things and teaching me many things I didn’t know in return I decided I would watch over this land as its protector” he said with a small bit of pride in his voice at the end but his eyes held Humility in them as he did not consider himself above these people and he wanted to support them the best he could.

Lucy smiled to Sol and then to the little girl, "Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you all." She didn't know how many mortal children she had met and watched grow up and then old. The celestial spirit had been that small once, but it wasn't quite the same. Changing her appearance on a whim or the whim a wizard she had a contract with wasn't the same as a mortal growing up.

Though she didn't understand the little girl or her mother as well as she liked, Aranea hoped she could imagine something of what it was like to be mortal, and that her smile came across as warmly as she meant it. That's how she was resensitizing herself to mortals as more than just prey. It working far better than she could've hoped so far, but she still had to take it one day at a time.

"Maybe you can teach me to play that game I saw some other kids like you playing back there. Don't think we have hat one where I come from. Or I'll just see you all around. Smiling back to Sol, Lucy nodded, "It's nice and peaceful here. Beautiful too. If you ever need any help around here. I'd be happy to help if I can."

Sol Smiled a bit as the little girl got shy around Aranea and he chuckled a bit.”You will have to take your time they are cautious of outsiders, this is a Midi Style Town so the culture and the rules around here are different.” He explained before he heard her say that it was nice and peacefull and and very beautiful and wondered if he would need help.at that Sol blinked before he shook his head.”I can tend to the town with little effort but that does not mean you cant come and chip in when you want or come and visit” he said

“however I would suggest if your going to be here often you get some clothing that matches the region which I can help you out and suggest things for you and you will also need to learn the culture which I will also assist you with” he offered before he bent down so he would whisper into her ear. “Our CEO Cirven made a very big mistake when he visited here with a dead wyvern which he was going to offer to the people not knowing dragons are sacred it took forever for me to calm the village down and for them to be at ease around him” he said remembering the headache that his boss had given him from that little mistake.

Aranea glanced back at the shy little girl, following Sol around. "Oh what's wrong with the dress I have? I know it's outdated, but it's not like I can get back home to get the latest fashions. But if you can help, well I'll take a few pointers Like is there some I can pick up locally?"


She paused, listening his whispering, her blue eyes widening. She lowered her voice, "Oh well I don't think I'd ever do something like that. Not exactly that, but maybe a short course in Midian culture a good idea. where do I sign up? Could we roll that with the crash course in local fashion?"

Sol shook his head at her asking if her dress was wrong.”no nothing is wrong with it but it will help you to connect to the people here and also I find the clothing style of Midi to be very comfortable and if you like I can direct you to a few shops” he suggested as he motioned for her to follow him as they would head into the market,The Dragon was always looking out for the people in his province and his fellow mages at the trading company he always tried to help them connect with the people here and learn the rules and customs like he was.

“don’t worry I know you wont and even if you over step Ill step in and try to compromise or explain your situation to them” he said as he walked her into a shop that sold Kimonos and other clothing and the owner bowed low to Sol who bowed back before he motioned for her to bow as well. "when you are bowed to it is common courtesy to bow back as a sign of respect” He explained hoping as the owner smiled at them and was eager to help with their needs

Aranea listened closely not wanting to offend the people of this village, even in a small way, if she could help it. It seemed like a nice small scale test to the kind of  things she may have to do to prove  herself to the Celestial Spirit King.

She followed him into the  clothing shop, and she bowed to the shop owner, offering a smile. "Is there somewhere I can change to try some of these on? I think I like this white one, this pink one and this purpuprle one to try first."

Lucy looked on over various kimonos on display and pointed to each one she had take na liking to the most on first glance.

As Sol waited in the corner while the spirit looked thru the clothing and when she decided to get a few of them and try them on the owner and Sol both looked at her and pointed at a small room for her to try them on in.” let us know which ones fit and which ones do not” Sol explained as he looked at the owner who smiled at him.”Thank you for bringing another new customer Sol Sama” he said as Sol shrugged a bit.” It is alright she is new and does not know about Midi culture so I thought it would help to dress according to culture as well as learn it” he said as the Shop keeper nodded.

“It does make sense my lord it helps to understand us and our culture its good to know your trying to help the young woman” he said as Sol nodded before he knocked on the edge of the room.”hows it going in there Lucy?” he asked wanting to make sure it was going well for her.

Lucy hung her teal squid dress and pink and purple striped tights up in the changing area, and tried on a deep rose kimono trimmed in lighter pink. She used her wand to instantly put her long blonde hair held up in a bun by two pink sticks. Lucy was considering whether to try the white kimono or the lavender one when she heard the knock on the door, "I'm good. I'll show you one of the kimonos in a minute."

She changed into the white kimono next to see how it fit, leaving her hair in the same updo. She bit her lip, not quite liking the look of it as much she did the pink one The spirit changed next into the lavender kimono and it fit better than the white one. This made the pink one and the lavender one the early favorites, but Lucy still had one more to try on.

One more time Lucy changed kimonos, trying in the last one she had bright in with her. It was black with red trim and colorful floral design all over the sleeves and shoulders. She used her wand to change her updo slightly, from an elegant, simple bun to something that let a couple blonde tendrils hang down around and past her shoulders. She had found some socks that went with it too. She decided to leave her horned hair band on as a personal touch to go with the Midian clothing.

Finally she emerged from the changing area in the red and black floral kimono. Her celestial clothing and the pink kimono were draped over her left arm, the white kimono and lavender kimono draped over her right. She held up her left arm, "I decided on this pink one, and the one I'm wearing. I might come back for the lavender one, or maybe I'll take that one too." She put the choices she wasn't wearing up on the counter, and packed her own clothing in her satchel. The white kimono she hung back up where she found it.

As Aranea came out and was dressed in one of the kimonos she had grabbed which seemed to be black and red which looked rather good on her. “alright now that we have gotten you some clothing we can get some food” he suggested as he paid the shop owner with a large discount at the owners request and Sol smiled and nodded as he led the spirit out of the shop, he then lead her towards a ramen stand and sat down with her.Sol would smirk at her as he ordered a pork ramen with extra meat in it.”So Lucy how have you been doing are you settling into the island alright?” he asked

Sol knew that she was different then most and he also knew her feeding habits made it a bit tough but she had agreed to only feed on the mainland so it put his mind at ease, he hoped that she would gain her strength and honor back and would be able to rejoin the celestials in the future. The void dweller knew it would be sad to see her go but he wanted the young girl to be happy.”Go ahead and get what you want Lucy Im paying so money isn’t an issue” he said as he caught the scent of his pork being cooked for his ramen and he felt himself getting hungry

Lucy smiled, smoothing out each sleeve of her new kimono, and folding up the other. She smiled tho Sol, "These are both so beautiful. Thank you. I had almost forgotten that a wizard could be so generous." With her extra kimono and other clothes bagged up, she followed Sol out. She bowed to the owner, thanking him for his time and generosity too.

She set her bag down, settling in at the table as she considered what she wanted to eat. Consuming mortal fare was not unfamiliar to the Celestial Spider. Even in the wild, she often ate what a mortal would to survive on top of her extra magical dietary needs. If she could combine the intangible qualities of a mortal's dreams with a delectable baked delight over taking it straight from the source, she would. That was interesting thought, but as it was, distilling a mortal's dreams into a baking ingredient was just an extra step on top of the predation she did already. It would not provide the more benevolent substitute source she was hoping for.

Aranea/Lucy smiled graciously to Sol. "Thanks, Sir. Let's see. It's a little hard to decide." Believing sweets were among the best foods mortals had to offer, Lucy ordered a while plate of dango and another of daifuku. She did get a small dish of rice and vegetables on the side. The celestial spirit's stomach rumbled a little while writing and smelling the food being prepared. She dove right in, eating as soon as her desserts and rice and vegetables were placed in don't of her. Being an ageless spirit, she was already more adept at using chopsticks than someone just beginning to learn Midian culture might be.
