Taloned feet stood at the edge of the cliff face, bright green optics looking up at the many cliff ledges and shapes in the rock formation that in combination with each other entirely blocked out any sight of sky or evidence there was anything besides the solid earth above. "Can I really get out here?" she turned her head, tilting it to the side as she looked at the other shade dragon standing beside her. Considering the size of the grotto's dragon population? Most shades born here had rarely if ever left because there was too much to do here, but she couldn't stay, she had to see the world and maybe dodge the sniper shots always being fired at her any time of day or night. "I'm certain." the young dragoness sighed, this was going to be her way out, but it looked far from safe, it looked like flying into the roof of the grottos many caverns. "It doesn't look very safe." she pointed out her concern, shrinking away slightly from the sheer mass of stone she would have to navigate to get out. "Myself and the other elite fliers are the only ones who can get in and out this way, it's suicide for anything else, if you take it slow I know you can do it and if you leave this way no one can wait to shot at you on the other end because your siblings don't know where this comes out, it's safe as you'll ever get." the other dragon had a very good point, with her family taking cheap shots any other exit risked her flying right into a fire blast on the other end, she was going to go this way.
She had left hours ago, navigating the nearly impossible straight vertical system of obstacles. Even though one was really supposed to fly the whole way? Pandora could not say she had not climbed for a good deal of it. How she had done it mattered not, she had made it out on the other side and seen the blue sky for the first time. A small rumble came from her ebony chest as she realized how pretty the clouds seemed to be. Would she be able to fly that high?! For the moment she resorted to sniffing around to see if she could find any source of water or something to hunt, now that she no longer had the safety of the grotto, she was going to have to learn fast. Most of her kind? Took their first flight outside of the caverns with their family, but that had not been an option for her, they certainly didn't want her leaving.
Flying would have been much more convenient, but the dragon chose to walk around the mysterious canyons instead, tail sweeping behind her knocking out any footprints she happened to leave. With all these twists and turns? The dragoness guessed that this place must have been some sort of death trap for anything that couldn't fly up and out if they got too far in. Claws tapped against stone as she finally wandered to the edge of a small pond hidden within the walls of the canyon, likely fed by an underground spring. Currently she was largely unaware of anyone else around due to her fascination with the water, stooping over to take a few laps from it.
