The Knight Goes Abroad (Private)

Job Description:

Michael Edward Lancelot was making his way through the busy crowds of Hargeon, on his way to receive his Magic Council appointed passport. It was nice to get out of Era for once, having been confined to that city do to his position as a member of the Combat Corps. Unfortunately, despite that position, he had received precious few tasks that were worthy of any note, dealing mostly in typical auxiliary guard positions like the party he attended back in Magnolia. The noble born knight was happy to finally receive a task that allowed some freedom of movement, even if it had little immediate importance.

In truth, this task was more than just a leisurely brake from the mundane assignments Michael had gotten so far. The fact that he was being assigned a passport was a sort of validation of the news he had been given recently, something that he wasn't sure about. His commanding officer had told him a few days ago that he was going to be transferred to the Special Ops Corps of the Rune Knights, a unit that has had no end of debate over it recently. Some believed that the unit no longer had any use, while others felt that they have been unfairly cast to the side in exchange for...other means.

Michael wasn't sure how he felt about joining the Spec Ops Corps, being a fairly new recruit himself. On the one hand, it could mean a change to his pointless guard duty and possibly more important missions that accomplish more than simple posturing, a sentiment that he could get behind. But on the other hand, he had heard quite a few rumors lately about how the council treated them, things that made him a bit apprehensive at best. However, it wasn't up to the young Lancelot which could be found fortunate or unfortunate, he honestly couldn't tell at this point.

Michael sighed, not sure what to make of his current situation, his lack of experience deeply troubling him. The simple truth was that he had only been involved in the world of magic for a few months now, not counting his own Sword Artes, and it was already starting to frustrate him. 

When he arrived at the area to receive his passport, it seemed that there was nobody around. However, as soon as he reached the booth, random patrons began barging in and trying to force their way to the front of an already growing crowd. It seemed the situation would get out of hand fast at this rate.

"Hey! Get outta the way pal!" One patron said. Another shouted "My family is going on vacation and nobody's stopping us!" This was not something Michael needed right now, pushing him to a rather drastic, yet typical solution for him.

"That is enough!" A hush fell over the crowd as they all turned to the man now drawing his sword. "This behavior is disgraceful to the Kingdom of Fiore and I will not stand for it! Now, all of you will stand in a neat, single file line to receive your passports and that is final!" 

After sheathing his sword, the crowd now controlled, Michael stood watch over the both until the line was empty, receiving his own passport at around sundown.
