    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

What was Vlad, if not a man who defended what he believed in? Defended who he believed in. A man who served a purpose; he would change the world! The only real question is when would it happen? How would he do it? These were the questions that his recent pledge of allegiance to Eris had caused him to ask of himself; he had no idea what expectations she held of him, or what he should do in order to please his new master; master... A term he thought he would never have to admit to. Something he never, truly, foresaw being a future. Well, it seemed he had found a person worthy of the title; perhaps he sought her approval. Perhaps he wanted to be noticed. Who wished to stay at the bottom of the totem pole? Not a single person he knew.

Well, it was not as though any of this would, truly, make a difference to the young man; they were merely passing thoughts; things that would interest him for a few days, at best, before they left his mind; he did not worry, for he knew his worth; he knew he was a man who could do anything that was put in front of him. Conquering any obstacle, and outwitting any opponent; these were things expected of him. These expectations were often met, and it often brought Vlad great joy; what was it that brought him this joy? Success. Success was the thing that was constant; it always brought him something that would further his goals. Perhaps his goals were the one thing that brought him to Eris? Well, it was the one thing that he believed in so passionately; something that would force him to rethink his way of life; to accept a master. It must have been that.

Why discuss what has brought him down this path? The past could not be changed, but even if it could... why would he ever touch it? He did as he felt was right; he followed his own "moral compass" and believed this was only path he was meant to take. These were the things that brought about this chain of events.

Letting out a slight sigh, it seemed it was time to prepare himself for the day. What did he have planned for today? Nothing, in all honesty! He was going to simply walk around leisurely, perhaps find a job for tomorrow; nothing was set in stone yet; he had nothing confirmed. "Well, I suppose we can begin the day." He stated, simply falling from the tree; landing on his feet he would look around. "Where am I?"

To be honest his location mattered not; he had a day off, and he was going to enjoy this! What could he do... Well, it seemed there was only one thing that he would do... it was his favorite pastime! It was something he had been unable to do in quite some time. The only problem? He needed to find the right participants; he needed to find the people who would allow him to hit the ecstasy that he so desired; to fulfill this carnal desire that was building up within him. Who would be the luck lady today?

Cracking his neck he let out a slight chuckle, it was a different game when you went hunting in the daylight; it was something that brought about a bit more excitement. The possibility of being caught was significantly higher than at night, but that is where the adrenaline came from; it was what allowed him to enjoy this so much; it was what would make this so much different than the rest of the times he had went on the prowl. "Well, where to?" He stated, rubbing his eyes; it seemed the nearest town was nearly a kilometer away. "Pft." As if the kilometer meant anything to him! It would take less than a millisecond before he arrived at the town; yes, he was able to travel at just under the speed of lightning. What an excellent ability to have.

It was as he stopped his movement that he would orientate himself; looking around the town. He seemed to be in the town square, and was quite proud of his precision! Even with such a small grace period to stop, he had done so in such an excellent manner! What else was he capable of? Well, why spoil that? Running his hand over his face, the mans features would begin to change; a scar forming under his right eye, which was now a bright blue. His once black hair now a blonde; yes, his appearance had changed in the matter of an second; it was nothing for a man of his stature! "Well, who is the lucky lady~?" He spoke in a manner that was indicative of some sort of crescendo. Perhaps this was going to lead to a large peak; to something that would allow for a large expression. Perhaps this was going to be a fun~ day.

It was as he spoke that his attention would shift. What could cause this man to lose focus on his thoughts; to simply cause him to drop his thought process and marvel, in broad daylight? Well, it was nothing less than a woman with big tits and a nice round ass! Yes, this was something that he was quite accustomed to. His fun side, that is to say his Incubus side, was something that often brought his attention to these details! These details fueled his existence, it allowed him to plow through the boring shit in life; yes, it was the lewd thoughts that sustained him. What else was an incubus? They were merely lust incarnate.

Well, it seemed this mans sense of lust was a bit corrupted; while he yearned for the corporeal embrace of the women; yes, it was fun playing with a naked woman... It seemed he was also drawn to her for other reasons; she seemed to have some money. She wore many thing that was indicative of a person who held enough money to sustain a rather fluffy life; corruption was probably at the center of this. Well, that was not really something he had any care for at the moment; it was with this that he would begin his approach. Following the female, leaving ten meters between the two, he would allow her to go about her business.

She was out enjoying herself; transversing the town, stopping at only the highest quality of stores, she would leave with a bag or two each; by the end of the day she had spent well over a million jewels; yes, she had deep pockets! Well, was that the only part of her that was deep? A quiet snicker escaped his lips, it seemed she was finished; with this he would simply follow her to her house; there was no other word than mansion; it was too large! Why would a single female need so much room? Oh wait. It was a woman.

Rolling his eyes, he simply hopped the fence and called forth Azriel; the demon would appear on the inside of the room, opening the window for him; with this Azriel left the man to his own devices. Why stay in this realm when he was not needed?

With this he would simply follow the girls soul; it was a tainted purple; she was too materialistic. How dull. It was as she began to ascend the stairs that he would grab her leg; yanking it out from beneath her, the female would fall; banging her head against the stairs, it seemed she lost conscious. "Neat!" He chuckled, grabbing the female by the waist. Carrying her up the stairs he simply tossed her onto the bed; perhaps he would have his fun with this one? Oh, but how to do so? Rape? Torture? "So many possibilities...." He spoke, very delighted, as he tied her to the bed. "Well, how to indulge myself?" It was with this that he made his decision; heading down the stairs, and finding the kitchen, he would grab a knife.

Returning to the room, it seems she had awoke. "Aw, you've already awoke!" He spoke, a mocking quiver in his voice. "Well, you are my gift! I do deserve this bit of release!" He spoke, removing his shirt and tossing it to the side. "Well, where to begin?" He chuckled, running the blade up her shirt, slowly slicing through the material; it was as though he was cutting butter. It was as he finished that the blade would knick her chin. "Oh, my apologies." He chuckled, leaning in and licking the blood; it seemed she was already frightened. Her pupils were dilated, it seems she had a vague idea of what was to happen; or did she? She was making so many assumptions, perhaps he should teach her what that could do to a person?

It was with this that he would walk down the bed, once more; the blade trailing across her body. "What to do with this? What should I do? HOW should I entertain myself?" He stopped himself, the tip of the blade having hit the border. Her pants stopped the steady flow of of things; how annoying. "Why don't we remove this?" He chuckled, slicing off the buttons; dropping her pants, though they would never move lower then her knee's, he would continue his little game; it was about the psychological fear at this point; it was something that could be so much better than actual pain.

"I have left you in anticipation for so~ long, now haven't I?" He chuckled, throwing his leg over her body; it seemed he had planned this out quite well. Leaning in he spoke with the rhythm of a serenade. "You will love this~!" It was with this that he would penetrate her; the blade digging into her stomach; though this pain was something that she would not experience; he had simply altered her perception of the world. While she was experiencing this pain, it was not solely this. It would feel as though she were being raped. Yes, how uncouth an idea; rape was something so animalistic, how could he stoop so low? He wouldn't. It was beneath him.

Removing the blade he would let out a slight moan, the smirk having never left his face; perhaps this merely to further the illusion; perhaps he found some twisted pleasure in this movement; perhaps he was enjoying this. "Am I a sadist?" He chuckled, plunging the knife into her abdomen once more; he couldn't help it. The screams he heard were so terribly mixed; pleasure and pain. Two things that were not often heard as one. It was with this that he was ready for the climax. "Are you ready?"

"...Y..Yes..." She moaned, though it was filled with a shame that was blatant.

"Well, I do hope you have enjoyed the ride. I certainly have." He chuckled, raising the blade above his head he would lurch forward, quickly breaking the ribcage, and implanting it in her heart. "There you go! Climax to your hearts content." He chuckled, leaving the bed. Looking over his work, he was rather proud, though it was second rate; perhaps he should perfect this at some point? "Well, this was a fun afternoon!" he chuckled, leaving the room. What to do now?

    Spoiler:

    Eris

A Queen and Her Knight {JOB|ERIS|PRIVATE} XJeHmHC

It started with a whisper, quiet in the night, pleading for change.  Wishing for power they did not have.  The cries of a petty farmer who's livelyhood was lost,  prey to wolves that grew more bold with each passing day.   A daughter,  dragged off into the forest as she played by the well.  A wife, sick in bed and large with their second child,  with no wealth to spare for medicine or the future of the child who wouldn't know their older sister.   Bent over his bed on his knees a hopeless man prayed over a black book,  a red hand imprinted on its cover.  Its pages were blank,  but they drew the mind to look on as the wordless pages filled their hearts with what they needed to feel,  names and visions bleeding into their thoughts.   Sanguinoth.

Eris reclined on her mountainous throne of demon bones,  a giant warped skull of an archdemon set above it bleeding molten blood from its many eye sockets that ran down through channels along the throne itself.    On earthland the humans would have been able to build a city atop the skull alone, size worked differently in this plane of existence,  but Eris was a titan by normal standards.  Here, she stood like a mountain in her palace, everything scaled around to cater to her.  Whole civilizations living in the walls of her keep and living off her generosity.

Eris didn't often get to just sit,  she was always busy.  There were always things to do, and not just on Earthland,  and even now.  But there was a time for everything and right now,  the time was to sit upon her throne in hell and reflect.   On her accomplishments,  on her failures,  on her conquests yet to come, and as she reflected she stretched her mind far, taking time aside to let the power of her pact magic flow through to the forefront of her mind and dedicate more attention to the normally filtered prayers and chants spoken in her name among the stars and worlds where her influence reached,  it was both a blessing and a curse.

What she did with them was based on their actions themselves,  some were fervent believers and worshipers,  some were loyal servants, soldiers, or employees,    others were new and reaching out without having established themselves with her,  pranksters,  dares spoken in candle light with scary stories,  desperate souls looking for answers or something that would answer their prayers,  scholars and practitioners of magic who didn't know the words which they spoke from texts old and new.

The farmer caught her attention for the moment,  others would get their dues as she pleased,  some being communicated with in this very moment as her consciousness stretched to encompass the fragments of herself that scattered out spreading her reach beyond the confines of one physical form.  A body was a limitation she did not accept.  Having just one host that allowed her to enter this realm was all that she had required,  and since then what flesh she wore was irrelevant to her,  unbound.  But they were puppets to her,  there was always one,  the focus,  the center of her influence on the physical plane.  "Her".   Eris shrugged off the annoyance,  her body dissolving into ethereal smoke as she flowed through tiny rifts in space to fade through into her favored working environment.

Wolves,  powerlessness.  Eris reflected on the situation of the farmer as she drifted past the multitude of shelves lined with jars and boxes.  A wisp of smoke extending from the feminine shaped cloud as she passed,  slipping into containers without pausing,  contents within joining her cloud by the time she floated into place before an altar surrounded by tables.   Meat hooks hung from the ceiling around the perimeter of the room from which hung bare bodies of men and women, kept alive and fresh but hopelessness long since sunk into their hearts leaving them hanging solemn and still.   Eris brushed her hand against the chest of one of the men,  recognition flickering in his eyes but without energy or resistance,  only the cringing and gritting of teeth as Eris's hand sunk into his chest,  flesh charring around the hole left behind as she withdrew her hand,  a beating heart throbbing in her palm.   The man contorted in pain, writhing on the hook still very much alive.   Slowly the magic of the hooks would mend his corpse given time,  his life unending.

Upon the altar Eris laid out the materials she had acquired,  namely of which was silver,  wolfsbane,  a human heart,  the dried old remains of a wolf's heart and its fang.  In her hands the silver turned white hot before leaving it to hover above her palm as an unseen force shaped it,  little by little she added different elements to the molten silver,  metals and herbs alike,  vials of organic material broken down into powders contained in vials.   The wolf's fang itself grinding to dust above her other palm and with a fluid gesture the fine particles flowed into the glowing core forming over her other.     On the altar a small ritual circle flared to life under Eris's free hand,  burning orange and red with a sheer neon red glow in the center of each line and curve of the shapes that unfolded.  The circle in motion against the surface of the altar,  rotating in place as a space was prepared for her to place the human heart in one smaller circle towards the center,   the wolfs heart in the other.   The symbols burned harsher as both hearts blackened from the bottom up in slow ave,  sinking in against the altar as a third heart slowly rose from the center of it all,  blackened at first but revitalizing and pulsing with red flesh the further along it grew until the two hearts were gone leaving only the new.

Eris's hand extended over this new heart and closed into a fist,  the new heart appearing to have been squeezed,  indents pressing in against the bleeding tissue.   Harder,  it collapsed on itself,  crushing into a smaller space.  Steam flowed off from it in waves,   turning black again as it shrunk tighter until it was a sphere that sparked with heat and glowed as vibrantly as the molten silver above Eris's other hand,   the burning sphere below this one.   With a snapping crunch of a noise a puff of spoke rolled out from the sphere as small runes flared to life like sparks around it.   As the smoke cleared the sphere cooled,  no longer charred black nor flesh,  but clear and pearlescent like the full moon.  Turning her palms to face one another the molten silver and gem became one,  a frosty mist surrounding both as Eris's fires turned cold and sapped the heat from the creation,  a silver pendant with a shimmering moon gem in its center,  a spark appeared against the silver surface, scrawling along it as burning runes flickered in its wake in writing,  disappearing as they cooled.

A gift, Eris smiled, for the troubled farmer and his village.  Taking the amulet by its elegant silver chain, Eris took one step and passed through a veil,  appearing as a thin cloud of smoke that hovered over the town that would receive her gift.  No pact was made,  no deal struck.  Only the actions of Eris's whim,  carried out by her own power rather than the untapped font of power harnessed through the acceptance of her pacts.   She was out for her own entertainment,  flowing over rooftops and down through the chimney of one straw-topped home,  a broken fence surrounding the property.  Unrepaired since the last incident with the wolves.   Flowing out from their fireplace Eris materialized out of the smoke,  the amulet clenched in one hand still.  Her head tilted as she looked at the woman who lay,  sweating with fever.   She wouldn't live long,  Eris could see the failures of her mortal body within.  Holding the amulet out before her,  she stroked its pristine surface.   She had intended on giving it to the farmer,  but a better idea sparked in her mind.   With an eeriely smooth flowing movement, Eris appeared moved to the bedside and lifted the woman's head,  her touch sending red lines of corruption through the woman's flesh and searing her skin slowly on contact as she wrapped the amulet around her neck and clasped it in place.  A glimmer shown in the moon gem as the silver chain shrunk,  securing itself in place.  White tendrils seemed to spread out beneath the woman's skin, out from where the amulet rested against her chest.

After a few minutes her body was overtaken entirely,  every surface beheld a faint white undertone and a silvery glow radiated off from her ever so subtly.   As the amulet did its work the womans' expression grew softer,  skin more vibrant and healthy despite becoming drained of color into a uniform shade of pale white, not a match for Eris's own snow white complexion but a very human pale flesh tone.  Dark spots faded from under her eyes, skin tightened as wrinkles faded away,  lines of stress and weary days,  imperfections and spots,   greying hairs with split ends revitalized into a chocolate brown matching hazel eyes,  which though closed Eris could see.   She grew three inches,  her muscles growing firm,  a prime specimen of human health.  But it wasn't for her benefit,  it was to Eris's pleasure that she had been spared death,  to her own ends.    A black core was forming in her heart,  a crimson glow shining through her chest as it consumed her heart as its replacement pumping black blood,  the transformation continuing internally.   A reinforced digestive system,  primed to handle a new diet.  A diet of flesh and bone. Her jaw muscles were strong,  canines becoming more pronounced.  She was strong, capable.  Comparable to your average vampire.   But so much more.  The child within her womb stirred as the transformation seeped its way into the unborn,  the last few weeks of its cycle being rushed along as it's development spiked.

As Eris's body disappeared into smoke and rose out through the chimney the mother woke,  a shout,  the man waking to the unexpected surprise of their new daughter arriving early in a blessedly smooth, outright painless birth.  As the father held his child,  stained with blood and fluids,  white tendrils crept up his arms beneath his skin unnoticed in his joy at the site of a healthy wife and child,  for who he feared the worst just hours before.

Eris watched them over the following week,  her project unfolding in all its intricacies.  Watching the gift spread from one to another.  The gift itself subtly drawing those who bore it to come into contact with those who did not.   She watched as those who were effected struggled to understand their own new bodies in private,  in awe at their strength,  their vigor,  confused over the hunger that pulled at their growling stomachs unsatisfied by fruit or vegetable.   The only thing helping to curb their appetite being lamb and pork,  chicken and deer.  Their cravings drawing them more and more towards raw meats to Eris's amusement as they slowly succumbed to the consumption of uncooked flesh and blood.  It was only the first step however,  the next was human meat.   Eris tracked in her mind's eye without ever leaving her perch having taken the form of a raven atop the house that started it all,  the first of those who was succumbing to the desire.  Most the residence were quiet and kept to themselves fearing the worst if they shared in the gift that had changed them,  forming separate cliques and clans as some grew suspicious of others.

One man alone who had not reached out to others he suspected of sharing the gift was driving himself mad with hunter,  having no access to a sufficient source of meat himself.   He stalked the outskirts of the city watching,  drooling,  as a young woman carried a basket to go look for mushrooms and wild herbs in the woods.   Eris's raven head twitched to its side in curiosity as her minds eye washed over them,  following the woman along a trail that she no doubt took every so often for this same task of gathering what she could.

The woods in that direction were safer than most,  being cut off by a wide river on one end with a cliff face not far off that tucked this corner of the forest away and was raised on a shallow slope that would allow her to see the village from some of the clearings higher up on the hillside.   Still,  Eris noted,  it was foolish to go alone.   She traced her thoughts back to her observations over the week,  how her brother had been Gifted and shut himself away in his room,  isolating himself and avoiding contact with others.  Any day now he would have exposed the girl and their parents to the gift and the situation with her and her little hunter would have been far less dire.   But it was too late for her now,  Eris thought.   She was alone with her predator.

It drew her attention away from the dealings of the town but Eris stretched the zone of her perception out to follow them as they drew near the edge of her vision,  the village slowly disappearing from her house by house until only a few remained in sight by the time the girl stopped traveling and had begun gathering in earnest,  her basket full of a few things she had picked up along the way.   Her hunter remained at a distance,  drooling and twitching with desires.  His heart pounding with exhilaration.  At last,  a single dull thud rippled through his chest and his heart stopped all at once.

Fur burst from his skin and his spine shot forward elongating his body and hunching him over,  his limbs stretching long, fingers bursting into claws,  bones cracking as they restructured themselves onto two hind legs,  a tail protruding from the base of his spine an his face contorting with a mixture of pain and intense excitement.   Standing with legs wide he stretched his claws out and he howled, long and sharp with a subtle echo from the mountainous terrain further in the direction they were traveling,  and down the hillside to the village.  The few people Eris could still see grew tense and looked towards the sound of the howl,  one gifted feeling a tug at her heart.  Recognition,  instincts.  The silver amulet over her heart glowing with a soft white light when she took off running towards the sound,  one other shouting "Wolves!   Trish is out that way!"  as he ran beyond the reach of her vision.

The original barer of the Gift,  Aldea she had learned, was fast through the woods.  Eris knew that she'd be able to understand the howl of a hunt when she heard it and she could see the desire in hear heart,  friends of the family with the gathering girl "Trish".   Eris wondered if she'd be too late,  as the hunter wolf lunged forward against the sound of a piercing scream,  basket dropping and spilling its contents.   Claws ripped through dress and skin all the same as they raked across her chest,  one large clawed hand after striking her pressed over hear head as though to silence her,  the other tearing apart the remains of the dress.   When she was bare enough for the hunter hold himself back any further his large jaw sunk its teeth into the girl's shoulder and jerked,  a pop as the arm was dislocated and flesh was torn apart to muffled screams.  Another,  and flesh ripped as the arm broke free in the hunter's jaws,  sinking his weight against his prey's body pinning her in place as the jaws crunched bone,  biting into the arm that was now free,  large chunks being swallowed whole as it paused to breath heavily,  head tilted up to the sky in satisfaction.   Hunger still welling up inside of him but more human desires flickered across its mind and into its black heart as it looked down at the still struggling girl,  accentuated by a physical reaction as it locked its jaw around her throat,  cutting into her but not ending it as the hunter adjusted its posture between the girls legs.

The amulet barer Aldea arrived then upon the scene,  disbelief and anger bringing her to an enraged scowl.   A sense of command filling her,  instinct pushing her to assert authority,  dominance,  telling her that this wolf was out of line.  A shiver ran down her spine as she rushed forward at a heightened pace,  a transformation coming smoothly with an elegant grace mid stride,  important features developing immediately adding a spring to her step and strength to her muscles,  the hunter wolf letting the girl's throat go,  cutting her further in the process as it turned to a new sudden threat intruding upon its prey.

It offered no useful resistance against the alpha,  the first wolf,  that knocked it aside and off the girl in a single swipe of her hand,  her claws singing as they cut through the air causing distortions where they passed.   The hunter wolf's spine snapped as it slammed against a stone protrusion causing it to yelp a sharp cry of pain of its own.  The white furred wolf was much larger than the other and dwarfed the girl it hunched over,  a claw carefully placed against the torn chest that was rising and falling with shallow erratic breath.

"Give her your blood" Eris whispered to the woman, feeling both curious and helpful,  interested by the scene that had unfolded.   The alpha did so,  splitting her wrist to drip across the girl's chest before with her other hand she opened her mouth to drip the blood down her throat.    The hunter wolf still cried in pain as it writhed on the ground beneath the stone,  the alpha turning to it and roared,  no howl,  but a roar.  An urdge to lash out at the air pushed her to claw in the direction of the hunter,  and the air parted for her,  singing claws sending waves of pressured distortions in the air that sliced through into the wolf and through the stone behind it, silencing it.

When she looked down at the girl,  her breath was no more.  Her body was still,  flesh draining of color.  But wounds were knitting back together,  pulling themselves closed.  With a sense of relief Aldea's form shrunk,  fur fading as she knelt over the girl,  daughter of a friend or sister Eris imagined.  Eris could see the scene play out in her head of her own daughter getting dragged off by wolves and the hopeless uselessness she had felt then.

Satisfied with the development,  Eris's raven wings flapped once and she disappeared through a crack in the air.

Two more weeks later Eris's thoughts went back to the village.   The villagers had all been exposed to the gift now and had grown as a community around Aldea and her moon amulet.  They had grown to be remarkably neutral and contained their hungers and had learned to control their shapes,  assuming and shrugging off the form of the werewolf.   But they had a trial ahead of them,  as a perfect moon  made its way around Earthland,  soon to crest the horizon of that little village.   Eris knew what awaited them,  the bloodlust overpowering the mind,  pushing it into insanity and pure bestial instinct and forcing them to don the form of the wolf against their normal will.

Eris was content to let the village be at peace with their normalcy they had found with her gift,  it kept them safe as they had desired,  kept them healthy and unbothered by the elements.   But she wasn't satisfied with the results of her experiment.   She wanted to see what they could really do.   And this perfect moon was an opportunity.  Ingraining curse into the blessing she had given them they were sure to go feral this night.  And Eris wanted to see how they handled themselves.

One of her Grims should suffice.  A two sided test,  push the limits of one of her own and witness her wolves in action when they weren't restrained by humanity.   See how they held up as a possible asset for her to make use of when she willed it.

Reaching out through the pact that bound him,  Eris picked out a Grim for the job.   Vlad.  A recent acquisition.   He would do fine.  If he died it was no matter,  it would be a more interesting affair if there was a bit of a struggle.  The fallen would just be raised again once her curiosity was satisfied.   Eris watched as Vlad left a bed,  turning his back to a victim of his.  Slipping through her connection Eris slipped into the body on the bed,  dead flesh animated by her will,  by her presence within it as she pulled forward off of the bed,  blood spilling from wounds as her eyes caught flame and a searing hand reached to brush against his back glide a finger down between his shoulder blades and down his spine. Heat spilling through him along her touch blackening skin and sending hot cracks through his body where his flesh was becoming hot and charcoalizing,  glowing hot as it passed over him in a wave and he would drop,  glowing waves of heat still licking across the surface of the body eating away at remaining back coals.

Abandoning the body of the woman, who's flesh was partially knitted together enough that she'd probably live after Eris abandoned her in an undead state,   Eris appeared the limits of the gifted village standing beside a sign that named the settlement as Greensprings.  A fiery portal shimmered in the air as Vlad fell through whole and unharmed,  called to her side from hell.   Did she have to be so rough? No.  But Eris felt that the man needed a touch of perspective,  and it was hardly any more than an inconvenience, death,  and in bringing him back out of hell as casually as saying hello Eris reminded him of the undying connection she had given him,  that whatever happens to him it was in her power to bring him back.   A subtle suggestion and a fact that would be useful to remember in the face of the challenge Eris was to present before him against the werewolves she had created in this village.

The Perfect Moon was slowly starting to sneak up on the horizon,  not yet seen but she knew it would be there soon and when it was the games would start.  Eris waited for Vlad to establish himself and take in the new area she had brought him to,  light dimming as dusk was setting in and the villagers slowly made their way from their daily activities to settle back into their homes,  many already having retreated to their families for the night.   Eris could see the girl from the forest who had been assaulted by the first werewolf to go feral,  she was recovered and eating dinner with her brother and parents at a table with Aldea and her own family,  along with an older man who Eris could recognize as a grandfather likely of both the families.

Other families were having dinner themselves,  collecting together and sharing larger meals while decorations adorned their porches and tables.  They were celebrating the perfect moon.   Unaware of the new meaning it would have on their lives.  Eris noted the heavy focus on meat at all the tables,  few vegetables or fruits to be had and when they were there they were only side affairs to dishes of various meat.   A blend of tradition and compensation for their new diets.  They could eat fruits and vegetables,  but it was likely for tradition's sake that they had them at all as their taste buds held no interest in them.  But they weren't unpleasant.  Their personal family festivals were soon to be broken apart however,  as a sliver of moon began to crest over the trees.

Eris turned to Vlad,  who wouldn't have much time to prepare or listen to what Eris had in store.

    THERE IS A THIN LINE
between what is good and what is evil
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable

What was he to do? He could simply find the job board for this town and begin an adventure; perhaps he could find someone who needed help slaying x, y, or z. Perhaps he could steal x, y, or z. He had no real preference for the type of job that he would take, so long as it offered some sort of reward he deemed worthy; no, this was not even true. All he needed was an adventure that would allow him to enjoy himself fully; it was not something that happened very often. To be honest, he was unlikely to ever feel completely satisfied; he doubted anyone held that type of job for him. It was as this doubt filled his mind that the aura of the room would change; he could feel the demonic presence entering, but he could not react. Things were moving too quickly for him to do much. "Fucking hell...." He sighed as he felt the presence materialize fully. He was not very sure as to who it was, it was familiar though.

"Oh yes. That's who..." He chuckled as he felt the hand run down his spine. It was as the hand ran down his spine that he would feel the heat overtake him; the scenery began to change. "What the actual fuck..." He sighed as he began to fall; it was a sensation he had not experience before; it was interesting. The heat combined with this steady falling sensation was something that not many would be able to say that they had experienced; sure, there were a few, but not many.

Landing on his feet, albeit a bit roughly, he simply looked around the area. Where was he? What was going on? "Well, where am I now?" He sighed, looking around the area, though all he was able to see was some village. It was with this that he would turn to Eris, a bit confused. "I assume you to be my owner? Though I do detest that connotation, I do agree with the game plan. So, what are we doing today?" He spoke, a bit curious as to what he was meant to do here. "I do thank you for bringing me here personally~." He winked at her, though he doubted she would even care. Perhaps he just wanted to make some idle chat. It was a rather abrupt and awkward meeting. "What now?" He asked, a bit curious.

•Eris watched Vlad steady himself on his feet when he dropped through the hellgate she had created,  his flesh would still be steaming and raw from having been grown anew in the Burning Endless he found himself in temporarily as he died and was reborn by Eris's hand has casually as though she had sent a portal for him directly. A reminder of his place, the pact he had made, and that no matter how poor the odds were he would always be undying.

A reminder that would help somewhat in the trial to come as Eris turned away from him, spark of annoyance and sense that she was doing too much to pamper him already.  He would figure out what he had to do on his own easily enough.   "Do not leave the range of this village." Eris commanded.  The Pact-Mark within him would kindle inside him in response,  and in his minds eye he could practically see a tangible border surrounding the outskirts of the village ahead of them,  a wall of faint dark red tendrils and red glowing runes ringing with the same pact magic.

An arena of sorts, it could be considered.  An all new hunger games, Eris smirked to herself as screams sounded throughout the village with the sounds of flesh tearing,  walls breaking and soon the howls of an entire werewolf population howling loud, echoing across the land as the Perfect Moon finished rising above the treeline,  a crimson hue bleeding down from the top of the moon staining its light as it shown down upon the village provoking feral viscous responses from the now wild beasts that went savage.

A very sharp but brutal intelligence still resided within them but it was completely overtaken with the desires to hunt, to kill, the minds of an apex predator that was shaking with the urge to seek out prey.   Wolves were fighting among themselves venting out violent tendencies,  many scattering into the woods in search of game,  others preying on the farmlands or raiding storehouses searching for meat.   Living,  unliving,  cooked,  undead.  It wouldn't matter to them right now,  fresh human blood would be great,  but they'd settle for the flesh of any other creature than their own kind.

A number of wolves that were on the closer streets of the village had run off towards this way,  ten wolves that had already caught wind of Vlad,  growls and snarls at their lips as they ran on all fours,  long clawed arms and hind legs carrying them forward until they got closer and would stand hunched and bipedal again.

It was a rather clam noght, and it seemed that there was not much going on. Vladimir knew, however, if this was true he would not be here. It was with this that he would begin to examine his surroundings; something was off, but he couldn't tell what. The aura took on a polymorphic one; something was not as it seemed. Something was changing. It was with this observation that a few things would catch his eye. The most prominent was the full moon; it was something that looked like every other full moon he had seen. Something was odd. The town was alive; being midnight it was expected the townsfolk would be asleep, however, they were simply beginning to eat. This was a very strange scene, and let off a foreboding feel. Something was going to happen.

It was with this that Eris began to speak to him. He was told not to leave this town, though this was all she said. It was with this that he would begin to feel the power of his pact mark take effect; the power it held ran through his body, allowing him to see something new, something he was unable to perceive before. A simple outline appeared around the outer edges of the village; it seemed that this would serve as his field of play; this was where he would find himself limited to. Well, when one was to think of it he was not in a very bad situation; or so he thought.

It was at this same moment that things would begin to change; the outlines of a small family having a small dinner would begin to warp; the humanoid figures beginning to change. Slowly the outlines began to explode outward, uncouth hair would erupt from the skin. "Bloody Hell..." He exclaimed, observing the transformation in which the entire village partook.

It was as he became engrossed in this that something began to change; the aura around the town began to change; it became something much darker, more twisted in nature. It was with this that he would begin to realize something. It was a whiles off, but there were two families missing from their table. No, it was more then two. As he continued to scan the are it seemed that every single family was gone. "Don't tell me..." It was as he uttered this that he could hear the trampling of feet; he could see the souls quickly approaching their doom.

"Really..." He sighed as though it were an inconvenience to him. It was with this that the aroma of a high grade perfume would take the air; lulling those around it into a false sense of security; allowing things to hit them a bit harder. Yes, it was the Whore of Babylon's scent which allowed for this all to occur; with this out he could already see the diminished speed, the increased lust. A smirk now on his face he stepped forward, cracking his neck.

With this in effect he would simply snap his finger; with this single motion a plethora of things would occur; the ground would shake as the souls of the damned quickly grew overhead. They formed a dome over the area, harshly beating away at these damned souls. Yes, that is what they were; damned souls. Nothing more, nothing less...

It was with this field that would beat down on them. The souls themselves began to throw themselves from the dome; as they flew in their appearance would change, taking form of the beings they once were. Faces distorted by the passing years, and the lain they were forced to endure. The fear of having to be dragged back to where they came. The need to stay above; to stay in the safety of this corrupt world. The world on which they found comfort; in which they were able to do as they pleased. Yes, it was these very souls that assaulted the vile creatures, wanting to take possession of their bodies. Wanting to remain on this damned rock for even another moment. Alas, they all failed. Simply slicing through the souls of the creatures they were able to cause damage, but not able to stay. This was fine to vlad, this is what he had expected.

It was as the souls came down, plummeting into each of the beasts, that his weapon would take form; it was his most loyal tool; his Scythe. It was with this very Scythe that he was able to defeat almost any opponent who came his way.

Even as these beasts howled it was no use; the area had fallen under his control. As they ate away at his magic he simply began to slice through them. Too focused on attempting to dissipate the spell Vladimir was able to simply execute these being. It took a furry of lashes, but they were unaware. He did not physical damage, and as such they could not feel it. Their souls, however, were completely torn to shreds. With the last body hitting the ground he knelt down, and trusted his hand through the beast's chest. Removing the heart, or what could pass as one, he took a bite. Yes, he simply wanted to be able use this creature for his own devices. Well, what could he say? They seemed to be very talented hunters. It took effort and skill to remain undetected in this day and age. "Well, I suppose I am meant to be hunting these things?" He asked, looking over his shoulder.

    Eris

A Queen and Her Knight {JOB|ERIS|PRIVATE} XJeHmHC

•Eris withdrew away in a ripple of smoke leaving Vlad to his own devices to deal with his challenge,  and leaving the wolves to their own task.   Eris didn't care who pulled ahead,  but she made a note of how a single wolf should pose a threat to the newly minted incubus and Grim.   Eris could intuit that even the weakest of the wolves had the same overall base vitality as him and was more than built to rend and tear at their enemies.    Either way when it was all said and done all the beings here this night under the giant blood-red moonlight that rose further above the treeline on one horizon, casting a crimson light on the land that spilled through the dead trees casting ominous shadows.

The village was by no means a small one,  there were hundreds of citizens here,  and in the time since Eris had first intriduced her blessing upon the town it had spread wide and reached almost all of them.   Hundreds of werewolves,  tearing at their flesh and howling to the massive Perfect Moon above them,   the few peasants that were not blessed with the wolf's blood were soon mauled and torn into pieces,  survivors locking themselves in cellars and attics hoping to hold off the inevitable,  but the wolves were blood thirsty and hungry for flesh,  powerful claws and muscles tearing through walls and floorboards to drag the still-human townmembers kicking and screaming to corners and alleys to feast with the bone-crunching sounds of powerful jaws scissoring through limbs as though they were a crispy snack,  the men and women who fell prey screaming in their suffering as the wolves ate them alive,  savoring their screams just as much as their meat.

Eris watched the Alpha and the Omega run through the woods on the opposite end of the town,  they and many other wolves spilling out from the town to run through the forrest hunting animals when the precious few humans had been consumed.   Its supernatural abilities sending waves of compressed space and air slicing through the air whenever it clawed at something,  destructive force toppeling trees and carving stone as it hunted a large moose effortlessly,  the normally lage creature dwarfed by the werewolf.

Eris imagined the beast would be a threat even for some of Fiore's "Saints" as they called them,  the thought pleasing Eris.   For the moment Vlad was fighting these monsters,  getting the wheels spinning,  getting some practice.   Sooner or later however,  they would be by his side fighting with him instead.  Not this night,  but in the future,  when it was time to make use of these wolves perhaps on the streets of Fiore itself.   Era?  Crocus?  Perhaps they could knock on the doorsteps of an uppity legal guild,  or greet the King of Fiore.

What was he to do? He was out of ideas, yet he knew the night was far from over. He had simply been abandoned, as was to be expected, in some random as fuck village; the people were no longer humans and the area in which they found themselves. "Well... This is one type of predicament that we can find our... I can find myself in. Again..." He sighed, looking around the area, perhaps he could do something that would boost his chance of survival? Who wanted to face death. Well, who wanted to go down without a fight? Who was to be the martyr? Certainly not Vlad, he was too good for that. Who would be the tool that found themselves hung, a rose crown place upon their head? A person who could not resist, a person who had no real attachment to this world; such weak people, they did not understand what life offered.

"Well, I do suppose I should continue my 'investigation' of this village..." He sighed, simply finding this to be some sort of disturbance to what he had thought would be his day. "Well, perhaps this is how one shows their loyalty?" He sighed, stepping forward. It was with this that he could hear the branch snap under his foot; an insignificant echo, one that most animals couldn't hear, would echo through the woods. Barely reaching the village, it seemed this was all that was necessary. Having felt the snapping of the twig under his foot he simply raised his hand and began to rub his temple, he knew what this meant. "Fucking hell..." He sighed, simply looking over the area, trying to estimate just how fucked he was; he knew he wouldn't be able to act as cocky, his spells were still on cool down; he was very fucked.

It was with this that he could see a group of ten, yes ten more fucking werewolves coming forward "What the actual fuck is happening? Why..." He let out a slight sigh, simply unable to comprehend as to why it was occurring; sure, he would not complain about this task of his, but he wasn't very happy about it. Okay, that was a lie. He enjoyed the combat and the challenge, sure, but was it something he needed in order to survive? Maybe. Damn, this is a bit ridiculous isn't it? These answers, they all say something that would not be expected of an average person. Well, it is what it is. Vlad is Vlad, and that's how it shall be; how it is meant to be.

Perhaps this was what he wanted? A challenge that would push him to his very limit? Well, if it was... he sure was in for a challenge.

With a sigh Vlad found himself contemplating on what he should do next. Move forward, into the lions den, or simply wait out here? On the edge of town and allow for the beasts to come to him? No matter what he chose it was apparent that he was going to need to put in a lot of work, more than he has needed to in the past. With a slight smirk, the challenge making the task a bit more bearable, he would make a decision. Move forward, into the lions den! This was the only way to go about this; at least, it was the only way in which he would be able to swiftly end this. With determination in his step, Vlad began his journey to the town.

The moonlight lit the road, though it was still rather annoying to navigate. Sure, it was simply a dirt path, but it left him wide open. No sort of protection from sight. This is what made it so difficult; this is what was going to be one of the harder parts of the night.  Well, he would deal with it as he did all other situations. A bit of thought and a diligent work attitude. It was the only way to get through this night; hell, it was the only way in which he would be able to leave a rather impressive mark on his record. Being tasked with investigating this town was something he thought of being beneath him, but it was what he was assigned; as a first assignment it was shaping up to be a rather interesting one. The investigation would be rather dull, but the combat would be spectacular. It was with this thought that he would pick up the pace; his feet hitting the ground faster and faster, the town becoming much clearer.

As he approached the smaller details came into focus; things began to clear up. Having just hit the edge of town, the exact details of what had happened in each home became very apparent. Tables flipped, as he had witnessed, though that was not all; aside from this the homes were a mess; they looked as though a maniac had gone through and simply torn it to sunders. Scratching the back of his head Vlad was simply walking through the town, examining the streets. "Well, shit definitely hit the fan." He chuckled, stopping in the town square. Taking in a deep breath he began to exclaim, "COME GET ME~!" With a chuckle he knew he was fucked, but he was sure to take down a couple more with him!

Sighing, albeit lightly, he simply allowed for the beasts to lunge at him. Sure, he was able to rip the souls of the weaker ones in half, taking down another 3, but that was about it. From there it seemed that he was rather fucked! Grabbing him by the arm, one of the beasts simply threw him like a rag doll! Flying through the air, Vlad assumed he was fucked. Having called the pack down, it seemed that he made a mistake. He was slammed into a tree, his total body in pain. Sure, he was able to handle pain, but now he was struggling. One strike and he was almost done. Shit. "Well, lets make this fun!" He screamed, limping off to a clearing. The goal was simple. Gather them in one spot, then eliminate them all at once. It was with this that he would simply limp over to the clearing, letting the crowd immerse. With this they simply pounced him, ripping him to shreds.

What, exactly, was death? Death was something that differed from person to person, but in a more general term it is the loss of vital functions; while there are a plethora of ways to die the end result is always the same; the neurons in a persons brain cease to fire, the soul departs from the body. It is in this moment, when the soul simply expels itself from its now useless corpse, that a persons new fate is determined. If the soul is unable to leave this corporeal world then it is forced to endure one future; the degradation of the soul into a ghost; this is usually characterized by a malicious intent. The fact that the soul was unable to leave the plane is usually due to some form of regret. The second option is an ascent; this is usually the most preferred option for people; the soul rises up to whatever heaven they chose to believe in. To be honest all this lead to was a rather boring and docile life. No corporeal limitations meant that life had a new interesting aspect, though, there was no conflict. Everything simply happened. It was too unnatural. The third option was the descent. This simply lead to the alteration of a soul. Descending down to hell would simply lead to a rather bureaucratic operation. For the first few decades a soul would be left in a queue, simply waiting for it's turn to be discerned. From here the soul would be judged and their label would be determined; the lower the number the worse the treatment of the soul. From here they spent an eternity being tortured. This often lead to a persons soul being turned into a demon. The third option was one which was rather odd. Being forced into what would seem to be a demonic realm, in the center of this area would simply be a tower. The fifth option was one that rarely occurred. This was usually when a soul was trapped in some form of item, or vessel. The best, and most common, form of this was a "Soul Gem." A gem in which a soul's energy could be harnessed. This was usually only every used by those of a darker alignment, and even then it was hardly used. The final option was the one which Vlad found himself in. Being torn from the usual process he simply found himself under the control of another, Eris. Traveling through what could only be described as a fiery hell he would find himself being pulled upwards; pulled back into the realm of the living.
Example, is not pertinent to the progression of Vlad's soul at all:
It was with this that Vlad would find himself standing where he had been a few moments ago; simply overlooking the town. Running his hand through his hair he simply sat down for a moment; he had no real idea how many more he needed to slay, though he knew that it had to be a substantial number. Letting out a slight sigh he had one plan, but he was doubtful it would lead to the death of every beast. Hell it may not even work. Well, he did have a multitude of attempts. "For science... I suppose..." He chuckled, beginning a rather relaxed walk down to the town. Rolling his head he began to gather an abnormal amount of ethernano in his torso. As he approached the town the ground would begin to rumble; souls began to slowly leave the ground, simply gravitating around Vladimir; as he continued to walk the quantity of souls began to exponentially increase until  Vlad was no longer able to be seen. It was as he finally reached the town that the souls would now begin to collapse inward; each and everyone of those that had been collected simply began to melt into Vlad; being drawn towards the ethernano the souls would begin to shrink, the volume of ethernano in his body increasing. With a slight chuckle, Vlad simply looked over the area. "Experiment one: How destructive can I be?" He chuckled, slashing his arm forward; with this a lash of energy would be emitted from the males body. Slashing through a dozen or so beasts it seemed that this had enough power to do as he had pleased. It was with this power that he would begin to have a bit of fun. With a smirk he simply began to flick his hand; torrents of energy began to fly through the town, ripping most of it to shreds. Countless screams. No, they were not screams. Howls of pain ran through the air. It was as he continued his assault that his body began to feel the effects of harnessing such power; nerves began to fry and Vlad began to become null. Movements began to slow and eventually he simply collapsed. With a sigh, realizing what was happening, he simply released the excess energy in a radial burst. While not as powerful as concentrated lashes they were able to do a fair amount of damage to the area.

It was with this that he simply looked around at the destruction he had caused; countless deaths, though it may have all been for nothing. No, each death served a purpose and he knew that. Why doubt that fundamental fact. With a chuckle he simply laid there, looking up to the skies. What was to occur next?

I waited waay to long to post this,  I wanted to at least double it.  But for the life of me I can't think of where to go next with this.  So I'll stop wasting time and post what I have.

    Eris

A Queen and Her Knight {JOB|ERIS|PRIVATE} XJeHmHC

Eris remained distant in her observations of the town,  watching from above citing in an obsidian throne among the stars,  the view of the town was magnified and displayed across the black mirror expanse around her letting her maintain her watch with casual ease with a birds eye view.     Smaller mirrors rose up out of the surface to display different angles and close ups to watch in detail how things play out,   a close up of the werewolves in action on one hand and of Vlad in the other,  as though cameras were moving through the area watching everything, but it was just the work of divination.

Eventually the show was over sooner than expected,  Eris had hoped Vlad would demonstrate more ingenuity and perseverance,  but Eris had set him up against impossible odds.   He seemed to be at his last legs,  the wolves were closing in on him for a final time.    The black mirror fell out form under Eris and dropped her through space to make her appear in the air back in the little town again,  the giant red supermoon glowing intensely in the sky on one horizon.

In mass the wolves toppled over themselves as they suddenly lost all strength in their limbs,  the life snuffing out from them in motion,  leaving their bodies to tumble and crash carried along by their momentum.   In droves the wolves that were swarming in on Vlad's position piled up and wailed,  some resisting more than others giving them time to cry out in pain and terror.

The vast majority of the wolves were eradicated in moments through exposure to Eris's presence,  a few were stronger than that.   The White Wolf,  the Omega,  and the Golden Wolf,  the Alpha.   Larger than the others and more ferocious they were fearless and undaunted by the hundred fallen wolves,  and in madness were not yet tamed by the curse that had twisted their forms to begin with,  her blessing of monstrous might.

Their speed constant,  their path straight,  their strength... inadequate.   The gold wolf was nearest,  it's jaws were wide and a foot from Eris's face before she acted,  unphased by the freight train's worth of strength and momentum.   Before the beast could even blink however,  Eris's lips parted silently,  the world drained of all sound and stricken through by a deep chill as though reality were numbed by the word she had spoken,  the air refusing to carry the soundwaves that bore the unholy language she uttered.

The Golden Wolf and the White Wolf were no more.   Mid motion they were stricken down by a primeval curse that twisted their bodies in place,  fusing them both into one single abomination, a gibbering mass of flesh with stray strands of fur as though they had been inverted in on themselves,  organs hanging off from the sides of the bulbous blob of flesh with bones and limbs jutting out at odd angles,  teeth sticking out in chains like their mouths had been warped indistinguishably leaving rows of fangs that poked through with no jaw in sight,  a tongue lolling limply,  twitching like a useless tentacle.   Eyes sunken into the mass of flesh looking out at the world,  wide in confusion and horror.     Intestines sprawled over the mass like netting,  the abominations organs still working,  pulsing,  beating,  inflating.

Eris raised a hand up,  causing a pillar of bones to rise up from the ground to lift the flesh beast into the air as a rift tore itself open in the sky and a gargantuan skeleton limb reached out to grab the blob,  taking it in its one hand like one would pick up an apple,  and raised it to the rift,  which widened as a colossal skull emerged and devoured the thing that Eris had crated from the two werewolves,  the rift slowly closing as the skeletal titan withdrew.

Eris looked back over her shoulder to see Vlad  behind her,  a ring of werewolf corpses littered the town square around them,  bodies piled up where they died before getting close to either of them.    The town was wiped clean of the threat in moments of her arrival.   Skeletons were entering the town from rifts opening,  dragging the bodies of the wolves through to clean up the mess.   Hardly out of the kindness of Eris's heart.   The bodies were useful,  and her use for them was not over.   They were being taken to storage for study,  and reanimation.   Eris would improve upon her design or use them for various other projects.

Before long,  humans were being carried out of the rifts in the arms of her skeletons,  sleeping,  unaware.  Clones.  Derived from the memories and remnant souls within the werewolves,  placed back in their homes as a wraithlike Lich came through a rift with twelve hooded apprentices to wield black books,  scattering to go their own way,  restoring damaged buildings as they went.

Nobody would know what took place here this day.
