There seems to be a bit of confusion on the way damage works when it comes to PVP. With that in mind, let’s go over the difference between the different types of damage.
First there are the two main points of contact:
NOTE: This is SOLELY for PvP. Moderators already grade jobs in their own fashion.
Physical:
A simple unbuffed/buffed attack.
Magical:
Purely what it states. A spell is used to attack.
Now to rate physical damage we actually have to look at the TYPE of damage it falls under.

(i.e. Punches, kicks, and blunt weapons)
When grading apps, mods and admins will pay attention to small things. Like how the character fights. So brute strength (until the stat system is put into play), will be judged upon what type of training your character has to do with your magic. A good way to look at it is like this.
Player A is a Celestial Spirit Mage: Player A’s magic depends mostly on training up the use of magic power. Since she or he is a summon mage all of her strength will be put into her summons. Meaning that without any buffs your character is below average when it comes to brute strength unbuffed.
Player B is a Darkness Mage: Player B’s unbuffed set of skills is average. However the player will have regular skills running and jumping. HOWEVER when it comes to being above average, the player must prove his or her history that they are above average (ie military training. Harsh training.)
Player C is a Titan Mage: In order to train for this magic, the mage had to go through a ton of harsh training. The mage’s strength and skill set could send a mage of the same rank flying back.
- Levels of Strength:
- Now that we have gone through that we can talk about where people fall on the scale.
As far as judgement on where you fall on the scale goes, that is truly up to how you word your apps. Moderators and Admins will be looking for things like “hard training.” When fighting another player, you may call upon an admin or moderator to judge how much HP you lose from a hit. So if you believe the player you are up against is not above average moderators and admins will go through the apps and history(if there is one) to see that they are not above average.
Below Average: This is where summoners and mages with mostly support magic start. Some good examples of this type of strength would be Celestial Spirit Mages, Air Mages, and Solid Script Mages. They can make their way up the chain later on through character development. Now this is just in the area of brute strength. I’m not limiting speed as a factor (We’ll go over that later). If we were to label the amount of HP taken from a player that was hit by a below average hit of the SAME RANK bludgeoning damage would be 2%-3%.
Average: You’re mages that have “normal” magic with no frills and not hard training. Some good examples of this magic would be Darkness, Ice Make, or even Takeover. Mages who fall under this category can cause damage around 4% or 6% at the same rank.
Above Average: Typical mages that fall under this category fall under a more athletic since. These are the types of characters that can lift more than their own rank WITHIN REASON. Some examples of this type of mage would be Titan, Heavenly Body, Arcane, or even Requip. These characters fall into the category where they have to constantly keep their strength in check or they are on the threat of losing control. Note: This is not the only category but it's a good example.
- Slayer Strength Rule:
- Special Strength Rules for Slayers:
Slayers are constantly buffing their magic power when they eat their element. However this only affects their spells. This does not affect their brute strength. It’s magic that is buffing them. Not their strength. Now they fall under the same rules as everyone else. When their apps are looked upon, mods will judge whether or not they have average or above average strength.
- Physics:
- Physics:
Yes there is always the argument over the laws of physics and how it can help an attack. So yes speed will be a factor in attacks. The faster you go, the more momentum you have, and the harder you hit. However keep in mind that it will only raise the hit by 2% and knock back the defending player around three feet. This is calculating that you are fighting the same rank.
Curb stomping a player is rarely seen. Regardless of rank if you are curb stomped, you might lose consciousness. That is judged by whether the person is below, average, or above average brute unbuffed strength.
- Slashing:
- Slashing:
Slashing damage is with the use of swords, daggers, and knives or even claws. Some players prefer using this method. Mainly because regardless of rank if you have no armor and no skin buffs the members could wind up getting cut or even losing a limb.
- Piercing:
- Piercing:
Sometimes mages require the help of specific weapons meant for piercing damage. The difference between piercing and slashing is that piercing can hinder the integrity of unbuffed weak armor. However regardless of rank unless you have some sort of skin buff or armor, you will get impaled or stabbed. Some good examples of piercing weapons are guns, rifles, spears, swords can pierce with a stab.
- Falling:
- Falling:
This is simple you fall down from a very high height you lose 3 to 10% health.
