OOC : Events begin to unfold at a bar in Talonia~
I've taken the Lacrima Milk for this job :3

Crouched away in the heart of Talonia stands a small pub like no other, where anybody who is anybody in the world of magic goes. Once you step inside, your vision first falls on two bars that span the length of the room, facing each other; countertops made of black granite and tempered glass, shiny and spotlessly clean. They are framed by illuminated shelves made of glass, sustaining millions of bottles of alcohol. However, this is barely visible though the throngs of people dying to quench their thirst, from the dry and stuffy conditions made by the summer. The crowd in this place is made up of the most mysterious attires and even more mysterious personalities, all trying to have a good time by gulping in bottles and bottles of alcohol. As stereotypical it might seem, this entire place was filled with a complete male populace, except for one pink-haired waitress and one... Nevermind.
Laughter comes very easy to all these men, minute by minute, spilled with prodigality, tipped out at the utterance of a cheerful word; as their speech is blurred and vociferous due to the intoxicants they've consumed.
There is also a whiff of unpleasant and repulsive body odor that fills the atmosphere while the stench of cigarettes wafts from the leathery seats, making a certain someone bite her lower lip in annoyance.
"Here's your order, Sir." A smooth, female voice addressed the hooded figure on the bar-stool, her hand offering the glass of wine that the customer ordered. A hand slipped from beneath the cloak, though it would show no skin and was gloved and.... rather delicate-looking for a male.
The waitress raised an eyebrow for a second and was about to say something, but was called by one of the men on the opposite side of the foyer. The pinkette shook her head and glided across in swift steps, causing a small smirk to form on the feminine features under the shade of the hood.
    Oh yes, the other female.
'This is fun...' She thought, taking a small sip of the liquid in her glass, as her emerald orbs gazed at a particular group that had occupied the center of this room. About a dozen men stood in a circle, pushing their sweaty bodies against each other and creating some annoying hulabaloo as they cheered for two people. Those two were apparently locked in an intense arm wrestling match that could have grabbed the attention of any passerby. The winning and losing mattered to everyone else in this room, except the one female who was intently watching, her mind reeling someplace else. She was only interested in one person... and he was a participant in the match currently going on. From her current position, she could see her person of interest clearly and that was all that mattered.
There were several other groups as well, which changed swiftly, swell with new arrivals, dissolve and form in the same breath - as the sea-change of faces is a never-ending process.
'Alexander Zenneth... Find him, kill him. That's the only thing I ask of you Aedre.' The voice of her foster parent echoed inside the woman's head. She had met him recently, albeit in a very different and unexpected form. It came as a shock, when Orel introduced him and she extremely reluctant to accept it. Infact, she refused straight away. Back then, it just felt far stretched.
However, when he explained himself clearly, with all (or most) of the details, Aedre was obliged into believing.
Several changes had taken place in her on that one day, her appearance, her powers, her views towards life and most importantly; her goals. She had an aim now. That was the most important change.
The opera of voices in the group pitched a key higher, it seemed someone had managed to gain the upper hand now. The female took another sip of the wine, as one of her hands clenched the front of her cloak and she stood up softly.
    Not a single step.
She simply stood there, one hand holding the glass near her lips, while the other pulled the hood of her cloak lower on her face.
Aedre would wait, just till the two men would finish their challenge and only then... will she try to meet up with this so-called; Alexander Zenneth.

    Drinking Lacrima Milk

    -----------

Talonia, the guildless city of Fiore. Not much could be said about it except there was a distinct hate for mages that belong in guilds. An admirable idea, but one that would ultimately fail. Everyone chooses a side in the end, as testament to the number of members he has recruited from this city alone. People yearned for an idea, code or a higher power to follow. It was just in their nature as human beings to be followers, because they were like sheep. They needed protection from the wolves like any other sheep and Alexander was the dog that guarded them. Weak little sheep’s they were…

He had entered the bar called the ‘Last Round,’ an ironic name for a place like this. That would normally be the last thing you want the customers to hear. Bars usually never wanted you to stop drinking until you pass out, it’s how they made money after all. Well that and illegal gambling, selling drugs, prostitution and any other sins and vices. It was where the sinners drowned their sorrows and fulfilled their vices with drink. So why was Alexander here? Well he had a love for the drink, a simple guilty pleasure of his.

There was however a tournament of sorts with 2 arm wrestlers, money was involved of course. Humanities greed showed in all its glory. This caused Alexander to chuckle and even participate in the tourney. Little did they know is that he was he Demon Slayer, his slim build was still stronger than these muscle bound individuals. He did pretend to give a show to them, just putting in enough strength to defeat them barely. If they found out he was the Flame Demon Slayer, they would turn on him quickly. However Alexander’s saving grace was that he was not taking their money. This was just for fun to him.

He was however here for an investigation, people claimed that there was a demonic cult nearby and Alexander’s duty as a Demon Slayer compelled him to slay it. There was nothing that he hated more than demons, but rumors seemed to be false. A false lead, he did not smell the presence of demons or those tainted by their influence. So after beating the last punk in an arm wrestling match, he chuckled slightly and took his shot of whiskey. He was not going to get drunk off it, his physiology did not allow it. Still he enjoyed the taste and burn of the drink. He then calmly exhaled to relieve some stress and awaited the next challenger.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 12th May 2014, 4:15 am

Standing there, her emerald eyes fixated onto the blood red liquid that swirled in the depths of her glass, Aedre's thoughts were twirled and sent gracefully into several directions. Her ears were very well open, the slurred voices of all the men was making its way to her and she was keeping track of the little challenge only with that.
She was thinking of Orel, of how the eagle had attached itself to her now, how he had served as a beacon for her foster parent to find her. Now the avian was with her all the time, as he had managed to make his old master agree that being with the Slayer was in his destiny; that it is what his future is ideally meant to be.
After the whole incident, the woman had not returned back to the safety of her guild, but instead spent those handful of months in Peregrande kingdom, learning more about her magic in a country which banned its use. That was what her father had suggested, he said that it would help her in having better control of her new powers. As fascinating as it was, as powerful it made her feel, it was a terrifying thing in her hands. She had to acquire better control over it; over a drug that could put an end to her very life. Yes, that was what power felt like; a drug that was eager on taking away what you deemed the most precious.
In Aedre's case, nothing could be as precious as her life, since it was the medium that let her achieve her goals and dreams.
To be honest, she was loving this new found freedom that was added to her life. After getting away from the periphery of Peregrande, the woman had all control over herself. The new magic had nicely molded itself into her now, as she had utter control over her element at the moment. This instilled a sense of confidence in her and it was what drove her to the take the decision of beginning to act upon her aims. She roamed the darkest streets of Fiore for a few days, because she knew that the person she was searching for had a dark past, present and future that will surely have weaved itself onto the streets. Things just have a way of ending up like that and its always without one's consent.
Information. Its always the beginning of a lead; it was the same in this case. Some vague whispers met her sense of hearing, saying that the Guild Master of Nox Animus was usually seen roaming the alleys of Talonia and that's what brought the Slayer here. Who knew that searching for a person could be such trouble... Her muscles felt a bit stiff from all the travelling that she was doing for the past couple of weeks.
The woman bent her neck slightly in an attempt to relax it, as it came to her notice that her prey was now up for his next challenger. He had defeated the last one, giving the men in the bar quite a show. However, Aedre knew that this wasn't even a tad bit of his whole strength, for mages like him were much more than some circus joker that performed for the masses. Power was not really a thing to be put on a showcase, it was much more, it was a commodity that you used for protecting... or destroying.
She wasn't being judgmental though. Afterall, reserving judgments should be a matter of infinite hope. A hope of something much better.
    Clink. Clink. Clink.
That sound would be repeated a million times over, as the glass in her hand was shattered to pieces. It was done so silently, so subtly, that not a single soul in the whole room noticed. The pieces caused a few scratches and cuts on the cloaked lady's hand, but it was sealed and healed the moment it was made. The wine had trickled down her palm and her fingers, dripped onto the floor of the spit and sawdust of a place, as a thin layer of water would wash it all off.
Now that the glass was gotten rid off, the heels of her ornate shoes clacked on the wooden floor, muffled by the voices of the men who were roaring drunk. She walked right up to the chair opposite to Alexander Zenneth, a sly smile gracing her lips in the cold shade of her hood.
Aedre took a seat with graceful mannerisms that might be too suspicious to any pair of eyes that was not too drunk, for it did not suit to a man in a bar.
Nevertheless, Mr.Zenneth's challenger was ready, for she had placed her elbow at the table in a set position, causing many of the men to fixate their dull and red eyes on the duo at the table.
"Begin! Begin!" Their voices echoed. Question was, will the challenged person accept?

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Zeon 14th May 2014, 2:09 am

Alexander sat drinking his alcohol as he watched the crowd, the sins and debauchery continued as the sheep drowned in sin. It was something that he could not share anymore, he had seen too much in hell to live like they did. He had seen where this sort of behavior left people in the long run. Alexander had lived it too, for people only truly get drunk when they want to hide a tragedy in their life. To dull the pain by drinking a few pints of ale or several shots of hard alcohol. However Alexander was still sober as ever, thanks to his Flame demon Slayer physiology. Most of the hard alcohol he drank would almost immediately burn up in his stomach, not leaving much of a trace for it to be absorbed in the blood. It was in a way rather depressing that Alexander could not even escape his pain through alcohol. He was however a good actor that knew exactly how to pretend to be drunk. That or everyone else was too drunk to notice. Alexander made a promise to himself that he would stop getting plastered for the sake of his sister, a promise he intended to keep.

That was when Alexander grabbed his glass of whisky and took a drink. Mind wondering where was the demonic cult hiding and why was it here? The smell of alcohol was drowning out the smell of sulfur as he surveyed the room. This was going to be a wasted trip in the long run, but a well needed vacation from his guild at least. He sighed as he was about to stand up to leave when a cloaked individual sat in front of him. The smell of blood was on his hands, but the cuts seemed healed. This was odd, but after a whiff of the dark taint within it made sense. He was tainted in the dark and unholy magic, but why did he step to the table and challenge him to an arm wrestling match. Something was wrong with all of this and Alexander did not like it in the least bit. However to not blow his cover, he gave a smile a prepped his arm ready to wrestle. He was going to judge the person’s strength by this game. So when the countdown began, Alexander tensed his muscles to simply not move from his spot. Not only did it let Alexander test a person’s strength, but it used less energy that exerting pressure to win. The challenger would tire himself out, before moving him.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 14th May 2014, 3:11 am

The challenge was accepted. Before her sat the man that she had a lot to talk with, a lot to discuss with, a lot to know from. Before carrying out her father's wishes, the woman needed to know certain things. She was not really a brash individual who took decisions in the spur of the moment. She had planned and prepared herself well for this, not exactly in the same scenes, but atleast, in the same atmosphere.
Of not knowing each other. It was privilege in her opinion, however she also knew that it would not last long. If she wanted to know something, she had to reveal herself and also get to know more of this man. Her foster parent hadn't revealed much, the information and the motive of his hatred with Alexander was all given in tit bits and it was lacking in such a way that Aedre couldn't comprehend much out of it. Infact, she failed to pull of any possible theories other than the one that he mentioned; some bad relations with the Fire Demon. But in Aedre's mind, that didn't explain much, for she was the kind of person who wanted to know and understand things from its very roots. But no matter how much she tried, it all turned futile in the end. She just couldn't contact or meet up with the Torrent God ever again, because she lacked the sources to do so.
The Slayer had even tried to pester Orel, as she was under the belief that the avian knew much more than what he was wearing out, but he just wouldn't budge. At such times, there were certain positive aspects of being a winged creature.
'You can just fly away... away from all your problems.'
If only it was that easy for humans.
While being in the world of her own thoughts, the woman had just noticed that her opponent had now accepted the challenge, for their hands were already interlocked. With a small grin parting her lips, she clenched slightly tighter. She couldn't help but notice the strange warmth that emanated from his skin and it did send a shiver down her spine on first contact. If she were to accept shamelessly, it was quite pleasant; like the feeling when one would come across a bonfire on a winter night.
Her mind was slightly getting off-topic once again and in the realization of the nervousness that had climbed its way into her mind, the Slayer's left hand instinctively slipped into the hood and rested comfortably on the back of her neck.
"BEGIN!" The chant has now transformed into one single voice, loud, crisp and clear and had thus announced the beginning of this match. Aedre exerted some amount of strength and unsurprisingly, the man's hand did not budge even a bit. Infact, he was putting in an equal amount of strength; so all there was to see was the barely noticeable trembling on their skin and in their veins.
With her concentration being warped only into the challenge, her eyes resting calmly on the interlocked hand of theirs; her left hand had moved unwillingly. It had slipped off her neck, thus peeling off the hood from her head without intent.
'Shit.' She cursed inside her head, as simultaneous sounds of surprise ran among the male populace of Last Round, just like a wave in the sea, spreading at a consistent pace throughout the room, causing several more heads to turn and look at this little match which will probably turn into so much more now.
The snow-white hair of the Slayer was unkempt and fell all around her eyes and forehead, as its length would stay hidden due to being invisible in the back of her cloak. The pair of bright, emerald green eyes stared ahead in surprise, as a seething breath escaped her lips.
Though it soon turned into a mirthless smile, followed by a small chuckle, "Caught, aren't I Mr.Zenneth?"

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Zeon 14th May 2014, 6:09 am

Alexander tensed his muscles and felt him adding strength against his. This was interesting, him physiology was stronger than most. Most people did not get to have this level of strength unless they were using some kind of body magic or they were secretly a slayer. However this could also be some kind of demonic influence that permeated in him body. The taint of corruption was there, but how deeply did it have a hold on him soul? Was there still time to save him before him soul was lost to total damnation?  The boy seemed young to be toying with forces that could not be controlled. What was he thinking?

It was then that he say the hood fall off and showed a surprising face. One that showed equal parts strength and beauty, tempered with a bit of wisdom.  It was a pity that she was tainted with corruption and beyond help. So alexander sighed softly, a jaded look in his eyes that showed years of torture an abuse. Despite that he still played along with the game with just the comment, “You thought being a woman was going to make me treat you any differently?  It matters not, because the outcomes going to be the same. It always does.” His eyes were those of one that were already judging her and her actions with an emotionless conviction.

What Aedre did not know was that underneath the chaos of the crowd and the table was justice being let out its holster and pointed at her kneecap slowly and with careful aim. He was not going to risk putting himself in danger, he saw the seething rage in the girl for briefest of seconds. Still there was a hesitant pause as he did so, maybe this was not the right course of action. Maybe this was a rash decision, but the risks were too high.  So he slowly squeezed the trigger of the gun as he added more force to the arm wrestling. A shot rang out and immediate the pub went into a mad panic. This was to be expected in a bar, where inebriation brought the worse of humanity. Still regardless of outcome, he got the first shot in. Now to see what the woman across the table did. Alexander was ready to defend himself as needed, but still wished that he did not do it. Why were all the pretty ones evil?

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 15th May 2014, 3:30 am

The crack of a gunshot rang inside the room, failing in its trial to echo around, due to the place being so loud already. The connection of metal and Aedre's pale skin was quick. As the hard, cold, evil lump of metal penetrated inside her leg, she closed her eyes in deep pain. Her hand shot straight for the wound, as she clutched it tightly in order to prevent excessive blood flow and a little groan of annoyance and pain left her lips. Truth be told, for the first few seconds, she had no idea what hit her; but when she bent down to hold the wound and noticed the abnormal amount of the red liquid that oozed out, her eyes shifted to the gun that was held in the hand of the man opposite to her.
At the same time, unbeknownst to the woman's lost senses, the place had went dead silent for a single second and the men were simply looking at each other's blank faces in utter confusion. Left and right, they searched for some sign of assurance about what their head told them. Did someone just shoot inside the bar? But they hadn't seen it, so they found it hard to believe in. For humans are one of those species of living beings, who claim to be the smartest of all, but have trouble in putting trust to their own five senses. How naive indeed.
But everyone was not the same; and someone had taken the initiative to tear out of the front door of the bar with some amazing speed, so much so, that he was nothing more than a blur to everyone else's eyes. No surprise actually, since most of them had their sense of timing fast-forwarded with surprise.
But, they realized after a heart beat's delay and followed the steps of the man who had ran out. They chased after him in a way similar to sheep following the shepherd.
Pathetic little fools. They really needed to trust their own instincts and such.
At the drop of a hat, the entire crowd inside Last Round has disappeared, in an almost magical pace. Which only left Aedre and Alexander on opposite ends of the table; with the former still bending slightly and tending to her wound.
"A blithering idiot! That's what you are Zenneth." She hissed, as several immoral curses made it to the tip of her tongue, only to be bitten down by her will.
"I agree I would've preferred some privacy to talk to you, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect you to do something like that!" The white haired woman let out, as one of her hands pushed back some strands of stark white hair away from her face and she looked up into the man's eyes.
"I don't think you're some--" She brought her words to a dead pause, as she left the wound as it is for a second and air-quoted her next words, "--Ladies man, eh?"
With another chuckle, she got back to holding and inspecting the laceration once again, "I mean, I did expect you to be a gentle bloke around women... like the million others out there."
The Slayer noticed as to how the bullet had lodged deep into her leg and understood that once she got it out somehow, she could easily deal with the healing process of the skin and tissues.
She looked up with quick grace, "What are you doing standing there?! Help me get rid of this bullet. Now!"
Sometimes, being a stereotypical whiny woman... was fascinating.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Zeon 16th May 2014, 2:17 am

Alexander was just silently watching and listening to the woman in front of her. This woman was quite the actor and deserved some kind of prize. She went from pissed off in anger, which a normal person would not do to hysterical about gunshot in practically a few seconds. This was kind of entertaining to watch, but he had no time to waste. He was going to determine if she was a cultist right here and then. So as he walked over to the lady he simple stated, “I was being gentle to you because you were a woman. If you were a guy, I’d have used an explosive round on you and blow your limb off. I was actually feeling generous” Alexander face was like if he was playing poker, no emotion, no remorse and no pity. He was not sorry that she shot a lady in the leg or just didn’t show it.

Alexander set a seat next to the lady and quietly checked her leg, he got her good all right, but the bone was hard enough to split the bullet in 2 parts. Unlucky if she was a normal type then the wound would cripple her for life. He commented, “Well there is only one exact way to find out if you work for him or not. I will kill you unceremoniously if that’s the case.” Alexander placed 2 index fingers into her wound and got a bit of blood on his fingers. He then proceeded to taste the blood and make a judgment. He tasted taint in her blood, but it was something more to it. It was free of sulfur which would be what will save the girls life, but contained something stronger. Like there was a spark of divinity in it, but that would mean only one thing… a Godslayer. Alexander sighed, this day was going to get more complicated.

The demon slayer grabbed a bottle of whiskey and poured the entire contents into her bullet wound. This was going to hurt, but it was way to disinfect the wound and act like a torturing tool. 2 things for the price of 1! Alexander then proceeded to get a blunt butter knife and state, “I am going to remove half of the bullet now, but you are going to tell me your story. We can start with your name and purpose of seeking me out. Give a good enough answer and I will give you a cookie.” He meant a healing cookie, but she did not need to know that. Let her think he is an a**hole.

“I was being gentle to you because you were a woman. If you were a guy, I’d have used an explosive round on you and blow your limb off. I was actually feeling generous." The white-haired man stated, as he walked closer to her. His words caused a sarcastic sort-of smile to develop on Aedre's features, as she bit down a small chuckle, "Oooh~ I'm so scared!" She exclaimed in a very bad imitation of some peasant woman, acting as if she was shivering from head to toe for a single heart-beat. But even that facade won't last long, as she was caught by a strong pang of pain that coursed through her entire leg. Probably, the wound was getting worse by the minute and she had to cope with the severe pain that only showed up with time, for the initial shock registered by her body was now losing importance.
“Well there is only one exact way to find out if you work for him or not. I will kill you unceremoniously if that’s the case.” Alexander spoke, as he occupied a chair opposite to her and started eyeing the laceration carefully. However, his words had a profound impact on the Slayer's mind and a spot of doubt stamped itself in her head. Who was the person that Alexander just spoke of? The rest of his words had drowned itself into her ears without making much sense and not gaining enough importance either.
Looking him in the eye, she raised an eyebrow in curiosity and the query was on the tip of her tongue, when she felt an extremely strong jolt of pain in her leg. An almost unnatural pain that made the corner of her eyes water slightly when she closed them shut as a reflex action.
In the next second itself, she opened them in a flutter, noticing that the lesion looked even worse now.
"What the---" She started, her tone slightly wavering due to the pain, but all ready to curse, but coming to an abrupt stop while the gaze in her emerald hues flattened at the man's actions.
"Yuck!" She gave out, her pupils dilating and her face turning into a grimace of sorts. Once again, she was about to retort and question him about this weird antic that he pulled, but wasn't able to utter a single word as he grabbed a bottle of alcohol and poured it straight onto her leg.
Instinctively, the woman's hand shot for her mouth and pressed the back of it closely to her lips, not really wanting to scream and make herself seem weak in front of her supposed-to-be-prey.
“I am going to remove half of the bullet now, but you are going to tell me your story. We can start with your name and purpose of seeking me out. Give a good enough answer and I will give you a cookie.”
"A what?!" Aedre blurted out, almost wanting to laugh her heart off in spite of her injury and the pain she was dealing with.
"Do I look like a hungry toddler to you, Zenneth?" She questioned, then before he could ever answer, continued quickly, "Well, you do deserve my name and its Aedre." Her eyes flitted in the room for a few seconds, before settling back on Alexander, "Just don't question how I got it." She added, albeit in a mere whisper.
"As to why I'm here... I don't understand why you think that I was seeking you out. Did I ever mention it myself?" She prodded, only trying to play with the man's head.
"I just can't remember saying it, you know." She continued with a small chuckle, before looking back at her leg, "Bit of a torturer, aren't you? I get the motives behind what you did and believe me... it works."

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Zeon 19th May 2014, 2:34 am

Alexander was just nonchalantly thinking about the taste of blood. He must look like some kind of vampire to her, but it mattered not to him. He did it to make sure that she was not tainted by Adromalechs hand. She passed that simple test, but who sent her? It was not demonic influence, but dark magic with the purpose of killing gods. He could not taste the element that she was though, but it didn’t matter. For now he was going to take the bullet out of her leg. So with a knife cut open an even bigger hole in her leg, but after slicing the skin, muscle and near the bone got the first bullet fragment out. He however left Aedres leg to look like a mess. Alexander commented, “That must look like it hurts and there is still one more half to go.” Alexander was taking his sweet time with the second bullet, being even slower with the second one. He took his time as each cut came in slowly and painfully, causing each nerve to flare up. He still was not enjoying it deep inside, but there was a reason for everything. This was just one of the parts he hated, but after getting to bullet just stopped.

“Now before I take this other half out, I have 2 comments. First nice name, but it is a pity that you want to kill me so it kind of ruins it. Second of all stick to one personality, you are all over the place and thus makes your mind games null and void. So which god sent you to go after me? Not every day I get to see another godslayer… No that’s not true, there is 3 in my guild. Huh, you guys keep popping out like candy. It’s almost not unique anymore.”

Alexander then popped out the second half of the bullet, nicking the artery in the process and causing a blood fountain. Sprayed with blood however, he pulled out what he promised and shoved the cookie in her mouth. Alexander joked, “Good girl, you get a cookie for not screaming.” If she were to eat it, it would act like anesthesia and heal all the damages to the leg. Alexander chuckled as he put the knife away and sat back. Alexander said, “You may live for only one thing, you do not belong to Adromalech or his minions. If you were then you would be dead.”

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 19th May 2014, 5:14 am

As the Demon Slayer nicked on her skin with a knife, Aedre made sure to bite down her lips, almost making some notable red marks in the process. However, a small injury to her already injured body would be nothing compared to a gentle scratch to her ego. Yes, for the woman had fistfuls of it inside her. She belonged to the class of people who never made their weaknesses obvious or visible and never liked to be lose as well. Her aims were clear and right in front of her, it was just the question of grasping it within her fingers. But, it needed to be done at the right time, only then, would she enjoy this hunt.
“That must look like it hurts and there is still one more half to go.”
His words made Aedre's pupils dilate slightly, as she stared at the wall ahead, simply trying to forget the pain that she felt. It was indeed futile and she only ended up deciphering the meaning behind Alexander's words, thus causing a grin to spread onto her features. In her eyes, the man was either a sadistic sort-of person who loved to inflict pain on others, or she was just some special case. In any way, it didn't matter much, for this was all going to disappear once the bullet was out.
She sat there, holding her leg tightly and her thoughts were simply muddled up in many ways. She was once again having those usual mental conflicts with her mind, this time about how she would like to interrogate this man before she could reveal her true intentions.
But when he started speaking once again, the white-haired woman decided to meet eyes with him and she made herself comfortable by placing her chin on the palm of her hand, letting a small, bemused smile graze her lips.
When the Demon Slayer complimented her name, Aedre only raised her eyebrows slightly, finding it fairly interesting that he was playing nice with her.
It wasn't the first time that someone had liked that name and to be honest, Aedre was one of those rare cases that liked the identity that was given to her without her consent.
However, a giggle left her when he spoke of her queer personality, "You're smart Mister Zenneth and I appreciate that. But, even for a second... did you consider that this strange personality shifts are part of the mind games too?" She questioned rhetorically, while raising her resting chin up and letting her hand move through her unkempt, stark, white hair.
Apparently, surprises were on the roll today, for Alexander had already figured out her magic, thus leaving the woman amused once again, what was even astounding was that he had guessed correctly.
She was sent by a God, her mentor and foster parent.
'But how does he know that?'
She took a deep, shuddering breath and tried to calm her nerves while trying to frame an answer. But by then, the man had started speaking of the rarity of her magic. A topic which caught her interest immediately. Truth was, after her magic morphed into the current one, Aedre had been trying her level best to know more about it.
It was hard, for the magic was considered to be Ancient and Lost, so much so, that their information has been erased from the pages of history. The only idea that she had was vague and also obvious at the same time; as they said that it was a magic that was used to slay Gods.
Well, the woman did figure out that much by herself. Hence, her trials were futile. But now that Zenneth mentioned the existence of three others in his guild, it flared up her interest by several folds.
"Is that so? But, frankly, the uniqueness of my magic does not bother me Mister Zenneth. Its always about the mage... not the magic. Either of these two don't choose each other on their free will. Its imposed upon the former party and they simply use it for their own purposes."
By then, Alexander had the other half of the bullet removed, but had hurt an artery in the process, thus causing blood to spurt out of the wound. It was after a long time that Aedre was seeing herself so bloodied or wounded, for the last time would be training with the Tidal Dragon Nero. Or... who she believed to be Nero back then.
Pressing both her hands tightly to the wound, Aedre spoke something in context to Alexander's previous comments, "What matters to me is my own uniqueness and I can assure you... It is not governed by my magic. By the way, didn---" She was continuing to speak, but was shut because of having a cookie shoved into her mouth.
Her speech was garbled, but she quickly bit down on the delicacy with her sharp teeth that was shared by every Slayer out there. As soon as she gulped that down, a warm feeling sread throughout her body, one that eased her muscles slightly and reduced the pain in her leg. For a fleeting moment, Aedre couldn't help but wonder if the cookie wasn't poisoned or something. But then again, poison would never have such calming effects on one's body.
With a sigh, she trailed her eyes below, noticing that the wound was closing up and healing, albeit a bit slower than she would like. So, the ingredients of the cookie were helped by Aedre's own magic and now the skin was regenerating at a nice and consistent pace.
“You may live for only one thing, you do not belong to Adromalech or his minions. If you were then you would be dead.”
Once again, his words surprised Aedre, as she failed to understand why he would want to kill his father's minions. Aedre, or anyone for this matter, would actually expect Alexander to make use of these minions for himself, since they did belong to him by means of certain extensions.
But, as of now, it looked like their little family had problems that didn't meet the eye.
"This is interesting... It seems that you have some problems with your father, Zenneth, otherwise you wouldn't bear such hatred for him or his little group of lackeys. Mind telling me a bit of it?" She questioned, with genuine amusement lacing her words. A split second later, she came to the identification of her fault and added an offer to it, "Then maybe I'll let you know my reasons of coming here."

Post by Zeon 20th May 2014, 4:20 am

Alexander commented, “Of course I have considered it all to be mind games, that’s why I had a half a notion to put a bullet in your other leg and cauterize it shut so Slayer healing would not work. You would eventually walk again, but getting the bullet would have been a b***.” Alexander wiped his hands clean with a towel and sat down again on the table. The woman wanted something from him, but what? She was an expert of mind games, but he was dealing with a silver tongue. An expert liar that dripped with honey and venom, sweet but dangerous. He would need to watch her carefully or there would be a knife in his back.

The slayer lit up a Lacrima cigarette, and listened to her words. At least she wasn’t stupid, but otherwise was relentless in her mind games. There was some wisdom in her, but it was tainted with sin. He commented, “It works both ways Aedre, magic is a tool that a mage uses. However the type of magic also determines the mage itself, for it defined us for what we are. A crafter cannot make beautiful works of art without the proper tools. And the tool is only defined by the quality of the crafter, everything has a balance. You have yet to find it.” He was taking a stab at her state between her and the magic she used, because everyone had doubts at one point. Why else would she be guildless right now?

Alexander’s disposition took 180 degree turn from casual roguish attitude to something dark when she asked about his history with Adromalech. His pupils changed from humanoid to demonic slits with a red base color. He said, “We never gotten along, he is not my family and never will be. He killed my parents, separated me from my sister and tortured me for 5 years. He never taught me to be a slayer, but I taught myself. I made my anger into a weapon to slay demons at every opportunity I get, because nobody should have to live in my hell.” Alexander stood up from the table and proceeded to leave the bar. He was angry, she finally managed to spark something in him. However it was not good either, because she also made the side of his personality come out. The side nobody who was his enemy survived to see it again…

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 21st May 2014, 3:43 am

Alexander was undoubtedly a genius. The way he replied back to Aedre's views were indeed fascinating for the white-haired woman. Rarely, had people been capable of meeting up to her standards of debate and when one did, it was tainted with fear, which stole the interest and excitement out of it. But in this case, it wasn't the same.
The Demon Slayer had a sharp tongue, which gave answers the moment it was asked a question. An expert verbal sparrer. However, it wasn't the first time that Aedre was dealing with a person of his caliber, for she knew someone who could atleast give him competition; if not outmatch him.
Orel. The eagle was astute, bold and crafty, a complete A-B-C package when it came to war with words.
He is, afterall, a fluent conversationalist, mentally quick, and someone who enjoyed the idea of debates to a large extent. A polemical individual who may even switch sides, just for the love of the debate.
Aedre almost sniggered at the thought of putting up the bird against Alexander at some point of time, as she expected it to be quite an interesting show.
But the moment the white-haired man ended his smart-ass ramblings, his personality took a complete turn when he explained his relation with Adromalech.
His pupils had morphed into something completely different, there was no calm or cool in it, but only a fire.
A fire which spoke of hatred, malice and hostility; a fire too tainted to be wielded by a Demon Slayer.
At the moment, he didn't seem like a Holy soldier anymore, for he was just like any other human; agitated by something that affected his past in a painful way.
The second Alexander ended the short glimpse of his past and stood up to leave, something inside Aedre snapped. She listened calmly to his story of being bereaved from his own family, being taken captive by the individual who was responsible for it and the trials that made him a Demon Slayer. It excited her so - the idea of wielding a power that would allow you to slay your greatest enemy. Now that was definitely something.
However, she concluded one thing with that story, Alexander could be much more than a person she needed to kill. If his tale and behavior was to be trusted, there was so much potential in the plans that were being weaved in Aedre's mind at the moment.
She knew one thing about her foster parent's goals; the fact that he had no problems with Alexander, but instead with Adromalech. From what the Slayer was currently understanding, if she were to carry out her father's plans and end the life of Alexander Zenneth, she would actually be doing a favor to the Fire Demon, which was a complete no-no.
So, with a sigh escaping her, the woman gazed at the figure which seemed to walk out of the bar and called behind him, "Oi, oi, you can't leave that easily Mister Zenneth. I'm a woman of my words, so I'll tell you the reason for my presence here..." She took a small pause, trying to see if Alexander was still leaving.
    Apparently not.
"... I also have a habit of talking straight to the point, so I'll be honest here - I'm meant to kill you." She stated monotonously, a small smirk gracing her lips; because she did expect him to question her for the reasons. Curiosity, was something found in humans in excess.
"Does that make me an intimidating person Zenneth?" Aedre teased, though meaning it more as a taunt than anything else. In her opinion, the man's replies to her statements or questions were extremely passionate; something that she enjoyed severely.

Post by Zeon 22nd May 2014, 4:27 am

Alexander walked out a bit and took a breath of air to calm himself down. There was so much anger in mind, body and soul, it burnt away all other emotions in a conflagration that destroyed his humane self. He needed to calm down, the rage was settling in as the demonic side of him was showing out. He took some deep breaths as he tried to retain his humanity. It was getting harder as he destroyed each nest of his cultist goons, each fight eroding that bit of humanity that he kept for himself. There was nothing he could do, but meditate and regain composure. It was okay now, he had a piece of his family back. It was not everyone, but he had his sister be that one beacon of hope in his heart and soul. He sighed gently and turned around at the door. His eyes and demeanor had returned to a more humane one,

Looking at Aedre he just smirked at her comment about her purpose being to kill him. This caused a slight chuckle to escape his lips, but quickly stopped himself afterwards. Her attempt to kill him failed, so why was she still here? She was a snake so there was something that she wanted out of him. Something that promoted her goals in the long run, but what was it? Who was she working for? That was surely going to bite him in the ass later, but there were other ways to make Aedre to talk. He smiled and said, “No it actually makes you kind of cute actually. It is not every day that a beautiful lady like you come around and sit on my table for a hand wrestle match. I think this is turning out to be quite a fortunate turn of events don’t you think?” Alexander was of course trying to catch her off guard and cause her to be flustered. People tend to lie less when things get thrown at them. Alexander was trying to get the advantage in this verbal sparring in some shape and form. However he was more aware of the fact that she still might try and kill him.  Despite looking relaxed and flirtatious, he was ready to kill her at a moment’s notice. It was just Alexander trusted her as much as he could throw her. How this event would turn out was anybodies guess.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 22nd May 2014, 9:26 am

A smirk and a chuckle, two signs that clearly indicated how Alexander wasn't really taking her seriously and wasn't worried much. Either he was really intent in her words, or he was an expert actor who wouldn't let his composure falter even by the slightest bit. Regardless, it didn't bother the white-haired woman by much. She never expected it to be a walk in a garden; for with such a tough opponent, there are millions of aspects that remain locked within their personas. In such cases, one can only wait for time to pass by and cast its magic, so that the phenomena named fate could play its tricks and unravel it.
That's what her plan was. To wait. Patience was a virtue afterall.
The Slayer hadn't made even a single attempt to hurt the man, but it was not as if she hadn't thought about it. It was always there in the back of her mind and wasn't going to leave very soon. What she was currently working on was a plan with flaws, some major ones that might get her into trouble if she wasn't careful. Alexander had spoken of his hatred against his mentor, which was serving as the base for Aedre's ideas. But what if it was all a lie? A question that loomed inside her already occupied and cluttered mind. Sometimes, she had to wonder how she managed to do what she was doing; because any individual in her place would've needed a great amount of capability to handle what she was handling. Such a waste of the precious life that only knocks once for everyone.
But then again, this is what she was destined to do, or so she believed. To find satisfaction in this, was something that was up to Aedre.
The conflicts and disagreements with her own mind would never end, so she had to rely on nothing but the wildest of her instincts. The woman had noticed the abnormal amount of malice and hostility, feeling that they were quite difficult to simply be cloned by even the best of actors. So, here, her impulses would win the challenge.
Some amount of trust had to be placed.
But when she heard Alexander's next words, Aedre almost gasped in silent surprise. She could clearly see through the mask that Zenneth had picked for himself. An attempt to disturb her state of mind, a flirty approach was probably the best in his eyes.
The woman giggled, those rare moments when she could show the lady-like side of her and do what other females do in excess. The thing was, the situations and Alexander's words had tickled her ever-so-slightly.
The leg had healed completely now and the innocence of unblemished skin showed completely. Would anyone ever guess that there was a bullet pierced into that place just a few minutes before? The answer was a straight no.
Aedre had stood up gently from her place though, her right hand going up to the knot of strings that held her cloak tightly to her body and loosened it.
A second later, it came undone and down slid the piece of cloth, only to reveal the regal set of clothes that Aedre wore most of the time. An archaic, almost divine-looking and elegant, white-silken garment that was imbued with gold trimmings. It was tightened around her torso with a long, golden silk strap which folded several times before freely falling on either sides, yet never coming in her way. Along with this, went thin black stockings that covered the entirety of her legs and matched a short black skirt composed of some expensive silk. On both her arms, were finger-less gloves which extended from her palms to her biceps and were imbued with green emeralds that reflected the color of her eyes.
Taking a few steps towards Alexander, Aedre stood right before him, maybe just a feet or two away.
"Fortunate? I'd say no. Fortune is made and it does not attach itself to a... as you say; turn of events. I've always felt that those set of words were soulless. Because, fortune is actually made by diligence and initiative." The woman commented, taking their verbal war a notch higher.
"However, if I ignore that playful side of yours Mister Zenneth, I would like to get to the topic at hand - 'Cause we're playing a game which will have no winners, its better for one of us to take the drive and bring it to an end, right?"
A short pause, as Aedre waited for some kind of a response, "Luckily, I have no qualms in doing so." With that statement, Aedre's eyes wandered into the corners of the bar, making sure that there were no eavesdroppers.
With a nod, she continued, "Well, I was sent here to kill you, but surprisingly, the person who did so does not have any problems with you.... Instead, its with Adromalech. My fa--- I mean... client. Yes, let's refer to him as a client for now." She concluded, as a soft sigh left her lips at the obvious mistake that she was about to make, "Him and me, we initially thought that ending your life would be a great blow to the Fire Demon, but apparently, it is the exact opposite, right?" A strategic rhetorical question was left in the end, while Aedre waited for some sort of response from Alexander.
The woman's behavior was indeed slightly different now, because she had managed to surprise her own self by putting some sort of trust in the other Slayer. The faint ray of hope was that Alexander wouldn't crush this faith; one that was tainted with the wish of a personal gain.

Alexander still chuckled under his breath, he was going have fun if he was going to walk into hells door. There was little bit of trust issues when it came to him, but showing fear was not an option. By pretending to not take things serious people got lured into overconfidence and make a mistake in what they say and do. He however did not think this would work, but otherwise his acting would make the lady question everything he said. Was it truth or lies? So far he did not lie once, but Aedre did not need to know about it. As far as she knew, he was lying out of his ass.  This was a game of sorts and both sides hand winning hands. It all depended on who bluffed better and both of them have played the game before.

Alexander chuckled as he poured himself another glass whiskey and watched as Aedres mouth hung open slightly. It caught her by surprise which is exactly what Alexander wanted, but no reason to play that card any further. To do so would cause her to be suspicious, but now to t try and figure out what she really was after. That was when she removed the cloak that hid her features and to be honest it surprised him too. Alexander paused as he watched the style of clothing she wore and it was very elegant. If only she had walked up to him without hiding what was underneath and the whole misunderstanding with a bullet in her leg would never have happened. She looked like a cultist for crying out loud! Alexander’s eyebrows raised a bit in surprise and finished the glass of whiskey. His slayer body not allowing him to even get remotely drunk. Sometimes being a slayer was more of a curse than a help.

Alexander stated, “Well that’s actually a more complicated relationship. Let’s just say he loves me, but I want him dead. I am just a tool to his plans, but one that rebelled. So it would be a blow to his plans, but not in a way that will be beneficial. Not unless you like to see hell on Earthland scenario.  You want his influence gone? You will want to find his anchors in Fiore and cut them loose, because he is coming.  It’s not a matter of if, but when. And you were here planning to kill the only lead you have towards killing this monster.” Alexander’s eyes were serious like if his life depended on it. There was no hesitation or any doubt that he was telling the truth. There was just a hardened soul talking about his greatest adversary. Who was the greater demon though? Alexander or Adromalech?

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 26th May 2014, 2:49 am

Alexander's story, or to be more specific; a part of his story, made Aedre comprehend that she could relate to it in some ways. It wasn't the most perfect comparison or relation, but just like Alexander was a rebel against his mentor, so was Aedre. Not against her mentor, but her whole family. A renegade that could hurt them in the worst possible way. But everything has its perfect time.
The way Alexander spoke of it, he seemed like nothing more than an apparatus to the Fire Demon's greater goals. Perhaps, goals which are undefined and kept stranger from the mortal mind of his student.
Killing the Demon Slayer would only be beneficial if Aedre wanted to disrupt the stability of Adromalech, but unfortunately that wasn't even a portion of her original plans. Her father's orders had been crisp and clear, not leaving much room for doubt. But with a daughter like Aedre, things definitely need to be more organized and without any loopholes. Maybe for the first time in his entire life, the Torrent God had left an evident flaw in his strategy. His intention was pretty straight-forward; give her orders and she'll follow it blindly. Regrettably, the Slayer was no longer a seven year old kid, for she had grown up to be a refined woman gifted with a very shrewd and calculating mind.
The woman had processed the entire information in a different way altogether, for she valued chronology and could easily figure out that the events were in a very damaged and broken chain. Thus several blank spaces were left, slots which were to be filled with facts she was bound to stumble upon during her travels. Certain things always have a way of ending up that way, presumably the only place where the idea of fate plays her part.
So, some of the blank were filled and before Aedre realized it, she had gathered the idea that her father's actual target was not Alexander. He was, in a way, only collateral damage.
It was a sweet fact that she could use this to fulfill her foster parent's goals in a more efficient way. Afterall, slaying a demon would be best done by a Demon Slayer.
But it won't be that easy, that was for sure and Alexander had only confirmed these difficulty levels by mentioning some anchors which, in a certain understanding, meant... 'Minions.'
Aedre rolled her eyes in exasperation, being slightly annoyed that anything powerful always had worthless followers. She despised the motive behind it and only concluding it as the result of fear of defeat. Perhaps, they thought that weakening your enemy with weaklings was the best way of defeating them. Utterly idiotic tendencies.
"Fine then. I'll take care of these so-called anchors." She stated, while starting to take a cadence of slow and purposeful steps around Alexander, actually circling him like a predator; albeit lacking those same intentions.
"But I actually have a proposition for you, one that works along the idea of fulfilling two goals at the same time. But of course, it needs co-ordination.... and that will be achieved with us working in a tandem with each other. From what I see, we share the same target, so why not shoot for it together? In my opinion, it only increases the chances of success." A careful selection of words they were, working alongside the woman's tantalizing voice. Usually, a few words in the right key did it all, but this time, it was a much tougher skin that she was dealing with.
"It should be a deal. One that will have its conditions set in stone with your agreement." The Slayer took a short pause, as her walk came to an end straight behind Alexander. She continued with a small chuckle, "I assure that its a sweet deal though, because the conditions... are left to your choice. You decide them and I don't showcase any qualms with following them."
Sometimes, a sacrifice is necessary for the fulfillment of ambitions.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Zeon 28th May 2014, 4:12 am

Well this was an interesting turn of events, firs they were trying to kill each other. Now there was a conversation about their pasts and it now currently turned into a conversation of a partnership. Well this could be interesting indeed, but there came a problem that he kept to himself. How was she going to fair with corrupt magic against enemies that are resistant to tainted magic? He was not going to lie, there were very few numbers of Demon Slayers that actually bothered to slay demons. He muttered a few curse words under his breath, he really could not say no to this offer. Another body to fight the demons was a welcome addition, even if the usefulness came from a distraction. This caused Alexander to pause in silence as he contemplated his options. He did realize that this could be a trap, to lure him in a sense of safety before stabbing him in the back. However if that was the case, it was better to have Aedre be somewhere that he could see her as opposed to her coming from a Dark Alley and stabbing him in the back. There was little choice in the manner, she had to join. The reasons to not have her was crushed by reasons to join.

This was going to be an interesting partnership…

Alexander was about to give an answer when the sky showered with white snowflakes fell to the ground softly, which was weird. It was the end of spring and almost start of summer, so snowfall should not happen. Something was wrong and with the taint that he sensed, he had a nagging suspicion of what it is. He took a swig of alcohol and muttered, “What the f***…” Really was all he could say, but it was when he opened the door did the smell hit him. It was not snow, but ash with the smell of taint. He rubbed it between his fingers and commented, “Well if you are going to hunt demons then first lesson is that demons leave behind the smell of sulfur in everything they touch… This ash has demonic presence in it, so if you’re going to work with me on hunting demons… Your lesson starts now.” He knew that she would not take orders directly without some kind of resistance, but if she did then that was a good sign. Stubbornness helped repel demonic influence, although he worried how the energies would affect her.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 28th May 2014, 5:42 am

As Alexander seemed to be busy contemplating, Aedre's eyes roamed the darkness of the bar, one that was only occasionally pierced by a sliver of light from the windows. One such bright spotlight danced upon a beautiful and colorful little glass; one of those very special and expensive ones that were only used for the most important of customers.
Perched upon a high shelf, it scattered the light into several colors and really did resemble a prism. With a laid-back curiosity, the emerald hues traced the path of light to a nearby window.
For a split second, the woman's gaze flattened for what seemed like the dozenth time of the day, as she noticed the white, flaky particles standing out against the dark sky of the night. It seemed even brighter than the stars, since the latter were confined to a dim light due to the infinite distance that separated them from the earth. The fact that it was summer in its initiation, the snowfall seemed rather out of place. To be honest, very odd, almost in a suspicious way.
There was something more that was amiss though, the presence of a strange smell that wafted in the air quite strongly. Aedre knew that she had smelled it before, but her memory failed to catch any clue and she couldn't put a finger on it. Funny thing was, it seemed to issue from this sudden snowfall. One thing that Aedre could conclude now, 'Definitely not snow.'
A heartbeat later, her eyebrows had instinctively scrunched up, while her vision shifted onto Alexander when she heard him curse.
The white-haired man had approached the door and swung it open, while his palm seemingly greeted whatever descended from the sky.
"Well if you are going to hunt demons then first lesson is that demons leave behind the smell of sulfur in everything they touch… This ash has demonic presence in it, so if you’re going to work with me on hunting demons… Your lesson starts now." He spoke, causing the woman's mouth to be shaped into a small O.
Approaching his position, the Slayer extended a hand out in the open, thus allowing the flake of ash to rest on her palm in a gentle fashion. She closed her hand into a fist, as the smell hit her strongly and she could be sure about it being what Alexander mentioned; ash. However, Aedre couldn't sense the demonic presence and at the moment, could only say that it was an ability confined to Demon Slayer only. It could be related to Aedre's own heightened sensitivity to divine beings of all sorts, a package of instincts that she had recently acquired.
Once again, a chuckle escaped her lips at the mention of the lesson.
"You get the chance to be a mentor, huh? Well, fine by me... as long as you don't enforce anything upon me. The thing is, I'm used to being a victim of utter freedom with my decisions and I truly hate it when people try to meddle with them." She stated rather honestly, while her fist unlocked and let the ash slide away onto the floor. However, what had never lft the woman's notice was that Alexander mentioned the presence of a demon, meaning that one was lurking somewhere near them now.
Besides, if she were to focus enough, the Slayer could feel a strange magical pressure now, maybe exactly what seemed like demonic presence to Alexander. The fact remained that she couldn't differentiate between this aura and a normal one that a mage will exert.
Her lips parted to say something about this matter, but was left teetering on the verge of speech and silence when the magical pressure disappeared completely. With a soft breath leaving her lips, Aedre turned to the man next to her with a compliant air, "So... mind telling me where we meet more of these demons? I'm sure there's a common hideout where they gather."

Alexander silently crushed the ash from the ground and looked up for a bit. People were panicking; chaos had hit the streets as the streets. Some of the hotter ashes had started fires on some of the building’s rooftops due to them being made of wood. Funny how much this city prided itself in not having Magic Council influence, but when a crisis happens… There is no organization to get the problem fixed. There was not much they could do anyways. Their effort were pointless unless the source was immediately stopped, but the location caused Alexander to pause. Ash like this could come from a single source, but it couldn’t be. Talonia was close by to a volcano? Alexander walked to one of the tourist shops and broke a window amidst the chaos to get a map. He needed to know which mountain it was and there would be little reason to not have it as a tour visit. Eventually he found it, Mount Helens was the closest volcano and most likely culprit. Alexander replied to Aedre’s comment, “Oh did that sound like an order? That was meant to be instructing and if you feel that my lessons are wrong, then by all means hunt demons without my knowledge and experience.”

Alexander did not know how to teach students well, mostly he was winging it as usual. There was however not much you can teach about demons except holy magic killed them and to look for signs. Hunting demons was mostly investigating the signs and if lucky you found and slayed the demons. The magical energy in the ashes said one thing though, they were not hiding anymore. That meant that whatever plan they had hatched was going into fruition. Standing up he said, “They can be anywhere and everywhere. People that you meet on a daily basis could be a demon wearing a human skin. All that one can do is attune your senses to be able to track them, not everyone even the other Demon Slayers are as attuned as I am. By the way I hope you can fly.“ Alexander then took off into the air as he propelled himself up in the air with his magic and made a beeline for the mountain. There was no time for a stealthy approach, but full frontal could cause the chaos needed to disrupt things. Landing near the mountain, he faced his first target. There would be only one sentence to be told to it.

Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander Empty Re: Hell To Pay | Job | Aedre & Alexander

Post by Felicity 29th May 2014, 4:41 am

Utter chaos and panic had gripped the streets of Talonia, as some screams and shouts were to be heard in the background, causing the woman's features to turn into a small grimace. It was almost annoying knowledge that a place bustling with mages was going haywire just with the arrival of a creature of the dark. Was any of them even worthy of faring against the greater dangers of Fiore? Pathetic.
It was a city that was supposed to be free from the clutches of the Magic Council or any law enforcing group, but if so, couldn't they take of their own skins while in such mortal danger? There are only two options when one's life is threatened, fight or flight. While the latter one will surely save your precious life, it comes with the cost of pride and confidence; somethings which are as important as a thumping heart. Lost a little deep in her thoughts, Aedre's emerald eyes were gazing into the darkness of the night with dilated pupils, her lips only a thin white line. A ruminating thought process was bouncing off in her head, wondering if any of her plans were flawed enough to get her into trouble.
However, when Alexander proceeded out of the bar in a hurry, the white-haired Slayer followed without another question. For once, she felt like she could depend on someone and let the lead the way. Not a real problem now. She watched with a calm curiosity when he broke the window of a shop and pulled out a piece of parchment and only nodded to herself when she noticed that it was a map. Apparently, the man had an idea of where he wanted to get from here.
"Oh did that sound like an order? That was meant to be instructing and if you feel that my lessons are wrong, then by all means hunt demons without my knowledge and experience."
With that statement, Aedre's face caught up a bemused look, as she broke into a smile later on, "Tsk, tsk, Mister Zenneth, there's no need to displease yourself over such a small issue. You should know by now that I trust you..." A small pause as she took a fleeting glance into the map as well, "...Which, of course, is only because you're a Demon Slayer. I mean, who else can I look up to when it comes to getting rid of the nasty things, huh?"
A few seconds later on, when the man mentioned the signs and hints of finding a demon, Aedre listened to it with a flared up interest, nodding slightly at his mention of the amount of deceptiveness that they poseessed.
"Their trials to hide themselves are futile when it comes to me. Cause... I'm a master of that task myself." She stated honestly, ending up with a small wink. It was up to Alexander as to how he understood it.
Yet, the moment he spoke of the ability to fly, Aedre threw him a questioning glance; which was only answered by his propelling himself in the air and shooting close to a certain direction.
For a second, the woman watched the decreasing size of his frame against the night sky, but recovered fairly enough.
'He definitely needs to take a lesson on how to treat ladies.' She thought, while at the same time, a pair of raven black wings erupted near her shoulder blades and fluttered open in full glory. It was a small gift from Orel actually, for he had decided to bind his very soul to Aedre's; due to which she could access and use his powers for herself.
So, with a small jerk of her legs against the ground, the Slayer soared into the night sky and took up the same direction in which Alexander left off. The midnight wings would beat on relentlessly against her sides, just like the blades of a windmill, while she caught up with Alexander.
"You're a pretty rude thing Zenneth. Leaving a lady all alone like that~" She teased, while being only a feet or so behind him.
