    "A mage only has 1 Signature Spell slot to start off with, but weapon/armor slots can be given up and replaced with additional Signature Spells."

    "The signature spell that you have corresponds with your rank. If you want more signature spells, you can give up weapon/armor slots and they have to follow the weapon rules."

    This means to me that the first slot you start off with is free and is not restricted by the weapon rules.  If you give up weapon slots for more however, then they must abide by those rules.  I agree the description seems a bit off and perhaps should be corrected.

    Yup, I agree. I'll adjust the descriptions and reconsider the sig spell rules for a better balance and for more details. These new rules are fresh and I count on suggestions like this to make them better.

    As for Spell Fusion: the example you give of Wendy doesn't describe a combined spell though. It's just Wendy casting all of it at once, and the way it looks. That freedom is also up to the players as long as its reasonable and makes sense. For example: if Zeno casts 4 buff spells at once it'll just look like a bunch of cards flying everywhere, disintegrating into one swirling mass of energy that then crashes onto him to stack all the buff spells at once. It looks like one spell, but it is not.

    Compare spell mixing as opposed to spell fusion. Mixing doesn't add power, but only combines effects of different forms of magic. Fusion is merging two spells together into one with stacked power and effects. The rules of spell mixing only apply to mixing with others. Players can naturally already mix their own spells. It would just be casting them all at once and letting the physics of magic take over, like I showed in the example with Zeno above, but it doesn't need specific rules. Mixing spells with others is a skill that has to be obtained after getting more comfortable with magic and better at timing your casting, because you're throwing the effects of different forms of magic together.

    The cost of spell fusion should be better adjusted to the rank you are though, I can agree on that.
    I'll make the proper adjustments as well.

    What would spell fusion do for summons, particularly golden celestial keys. Same for takeovers I suppose. Would you get some weird hybrid?

    Then the skill transfers to your summons and they mix each other's magic and fuse their own spells, rather than you mixing up and fusing your summons.

    However, when mixing spells you might be able to have other mages put their magic onto your summon. Or if you have secondary magic that isn't summoning magic, you can fuse that with your summons if it makes sense.

    Unison Raid is basically Spell Fusion between different mages.
