The Glowlake [Job; Private]

Once again Zenshin was out and about, doing jobs ever since he asked team Radiant Dawn to leave. Now, he had to focus on what he did before they picked up the slack, which is doing jobs for Fiore. Only this time, it wasn't Fiore he was doing the job for, it was actually Seven, another nation that looked happily upon mages and magical beings of any sort. It was in its own right, one of the most, if not THE MOST magical place in Earthland, and Zenshin was very eager to explore the change of scenery. There was someone else doing this job too, it was a fellow and new member of the Sabertooth order, and he had yet to show up. He wasn't late by any means, it was that Zen was just very early.

There's a reason he was this early, and that's because he wanted a chance to view whatever scenery the Glowlake had to offer before actually getting down to business. It was a visual marvel to say the very least. The words he'd used to describe such a place escaped him the moment he set his eyes on the body of water. Violets, roses, flowers he had never even heard of or seen littered the border of the lake, all of them glowing, all of them humming, radiating some sort of energy. What a spectacle... I should take some back with me... he thought as he walked closer and closer to the lake.

Yukine entered the scene, surprised as he was told to do a job with the guildmaster. He had been in a bad mood lately, knowing that his faction of Sabertooth had left the guild, leaving only Victoria: his girlfriend. He wasn't going to tolerate any opposition in this mission- not at all. Even the Regalia resting in his soul were angered by this fact, and wished to unleash their anger on something worth eliminating. Albeit, despite how much Yukine wanted to shed his agony, he had a duty to fulfill, and so he had to ready himself to commit to it.

Upon seeing what was ahead of him, Yukine examined the area in awe. It was like a giant garden, with a splash of Heaven. Yukine was bedazzled. He couldn't believe something so wonderful had just appeared before his eyes. This was, unt he saw Zenshin. "Hello, Zenshin!" Yukine greeted as he ran up to him, "Pleasure doing business with you. How's it going?" Yukine was so depressed, yet ecstatic at the same time; it was strange. Albeit, the most important thing was the two were going to succeed in this mission, no matter what.

"Hello, Zenshin! Pleasure doing business with you. How's it going?" a cheerful voice said, disturbing the scene that was laid out before him. "It's going fine, I was just admiring the lake here. I actually find it to be quite beautiful with all of the- Oh, it doesn't matter. Let's not keep the witch waiting, I don't want any nasty curses being put on me" he said, responding to the greeting. "Hey! The witches here are actually quite friendly, nothing like the ones that everyone hears about down in the Spooky Swamp. Why does everyone just assume all of us are bad. Ugh!" a voice came from behind him.

It was the witch that hired them, and she somehow knew that both of them had arrived. "Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. How did you know that we were here, and that we were the ones that took the job?" he asked, apologizing to the women for his harsh words towards her kind. "My crystal ball of course! It's how I keep watch over the entire town. Oh, and your clothes gave it away. If you're going to travel to another nation, the least you could do is bring the proper clothing, you two stick out like a Varing shroom here. Hahaha!" she said, her demeanor changing to a much happier one. "Oh right! Why you're here... it's a funny story actually... I, uhm, screwed up this spell...

"Screwed up a spell?" Yukine attempted to confirm. As this witch had spoken to the two, to Yukine, it was almost as if their surroundings had suddenly disappeared, now with only one focus: this ordeal. Yukine sighed as he heard the story and looked to Zenshin. "Something is missing from this puzzle." He whispered before turning to the witch. He glared at her, and notified her mentally that she had yet to be trusted. "What kinds of spells do you use?" Yukine asked, "I'd also like to know who significant this misused spell is. Effects, possibly." Yukine was not pleased with this situation at all, and by the way he conversed, it was clear his depression still existed.

Yukine stood still, and memorized his surroundings as he read this witch. Something seemed imbalanced about her. Are witches really happy? Are they friendly? Yukine was puzzled, and wished to be freed from his confusion. He counted to six his head, and assured himself the existence of Yato in case of a surprise. Yukine didn't want to make an approach just yet, but rather hear every detail he could, first. Until then, he would either be considered an assistant or obstacle to this witch. He tended to repeat the same two words over and over again "I'm confused...I'm confused...I'm confused." Albeit, Yukine still prepared himself, despite his state of thought, to lack emotion, for emotion was currently his weakness. The goal of this mission was clear another day, and progress even further as a Mage. This was all that was important to Yukine.

"Well, you see. I was actually attempting to create a mind spell for my brooms, you know, so they would actually clean themselves rather than me having to physically pick them up and use them, when all of the sudden, an explosion! It went boom! The spell was incomplete and now all of my brooms, carpets, and furniture are all over the place, causing mischief and all of those things that inanimate objects do when animated. Oh, and before I forget to mention, my tiger Raj ran scared and is probably out there somewhere with the other things. Try not to hurt him unless you really *really* need to. He's really sweet, just talking to him should be enough to convince him to come back home. Please, please help me..." she said, obviously trying to hold back tears.

"Of course! That's why we're here. Don't worry, by the time we're done, there won't be any more furniture or animals wreaking havoc on the town" he replied valiantly, trying to give her some hope.

"Thank you so much! I didn't know who else I could turn to... The mages here in Seven would just laugh at me and I was too embarrassed for this to get out to them... Before you go, let me at least give you a strength boost to help you out with all of the different things you'll find in town. It's actually a new spell, I can't wait to try it out" she said, already raising her glowing hands before Zen could object.

"Actually, there's no nee-"

*POOF*

A cloud of smoke puffed around Zenshin, concealing the guildmaster from sight. And when the smoke dispersed, he was gone. Well, his body was. Are those her ankles? he thought as he looked up, she was massive! Upon looking down, Zen saw that he had claws. Looking forward revealed a small protrusion, the top of a beak... "CAW! CAW! CAW! (YOU TURNED ME INTO A BIRD!)" It was no use, unless she spoke animal. "I'm so sorry! I messed up the spell again... let me try ano-" she began, but was interrupted by him flying up to eye level and shaking his head. Not again, I'll just wait until it wears off. Until then, I'm going to have to rely on Kichiro he thought while landing on his guild member's shoulder and cawing once more, signaling to him that he was ready to start the job.

The suspicion lifted from Yukine's body as he noticed the witch mourning. She was indeed depressed, and required some assistance. On the contrary, however, she really gave Yukine grief, especially after he turned his leader into a crow. A grin appeared on Yukine's face as Zenshin rested on his shoulder. "No worries, Zenshin. Even though you're no longer human, we'll still do this!" Yukine smiled brightly, but for a brief period of time before he waved to Hilda, and left the area. As it stood now, Yukine had to act stealthy, for the obstacles Hilda spoke of could be around anywhere, and at any time. Yukine travelled gently with the guidance of Zenshin. He tended to hide behind trees, and whatever sort of forestry he could seek at the time. This mission was going to be a real pain, though Yukine could handle it. "You who would desecrate this land of the rising sun, with the advent, I, Kichiro Yukine, lay waste with the Sekki, and expel thy vast defilement!" These were the chanted words that allowed Yukine to summon Rabo. Goggles appeared over his eyes, which allowed him to see through things via thermal vision.

Yukine walked smoothly down the worn out paths of seven, and tried to find clues as to how he could track his opposition- that is, until he heard screaming. Yukine heard citizens of Seven panicking, and spied on them from behind a tree as flying wardrobes attacked them. They acted wildly, and squashed the innocent like flies. Yukine was amazed, and slightly worried. "Are you okay, host?" Rabo spoke out to Yukine. Yukine nodded before he further examined the scene. "Any ideas, guildmaster?" Yukine asked. He had been able to defeat multiple enemies before; but not this many. Also, who knew how powerful magically animated items were. Yukine continued to move from one tree to another, and avoided the potential of being spotted. He wasn't going to give up on this mission, though he needed time to think out his strategies.

Any ideas? Kichiro, if you haven't noticed already, I'm a bird. Even if I spoke, you wouldn't be able to understand me. I just have to settle thinking right now and hopefully you'll catch on to what my plans are. So... basically nothing has changed. Except for the whole, "not being able to cast magic", thing. How troublesome. Oh well, at least I'll be able to experience life through the eyes of a crow, even if for a little while he thought as he flapped his wings and began hovering above Kichiro's head. Interesting, he uses some kind of requip magic, can't wait to see more of it Zen thought after his initial ones, flying above to get a birds eye view of they area.

From up in the air, he *easily* spotted Raj, who was busy terrorizing the masses of the village. Perfect. I was hoping we'd find this animal later on when I the power wore off, but it seems I won't be getting a break today Not only was the talking creature smashing roadside stands, it was accompanied by a *large* entourage of broomsticks that were smashing through windows and doors. It really was a mess. Zenshin flew back down and landed on Kichiro's shoulder again. "Caw! Caw caw caw! (Good luck)"

Yukine watched as Zenshin the Crow hovered over him. Did he spot something? Yukine took this sort of motion into account, and combined Rabo with himself to gain external vision. With this, Yukine tracked down the stealthy beast, Raj. Unfortunately, this sort of creature looked like a mighty competitor in Yukine's eyes, and furthermore, the most fearsome beast Yukine had ever encountered. After he found Raj, Yukine chose to ReQuip Yato in replacement to Rabo, keeping his magic reserve on a medium. "You who would desecrate this land of the rising sun, with the advent, I, Kichiro Yukine, lay waste with the Sekki, and expel thy vast defilement!" This chant called out to the brooms, though Yukine did not hesitate after being seen. He swiftly swiped his middle and index finger across the side of his sword, activating Yato's abilities. The brooms charged, though with a bombardment of attacks, Yukine was about to show who was superior.

Yukine first performed his bombardment of attacks as he bounced off a tree. He then rapidly sprung off of the flying broom sticks to gain more air. Finally, Yukine completed his strategy as he held Yato upright, and did several front flips while descending to the ground. In accordance to his acrobatics, Yukine also utilized the speed and reaction boost of Yato, which ultimately allowed Yukine to quickly slice his sword through the alignment of broom sticks. Thankfully , these broom sticks had been profiled almost as if they were a wolf pack. To elaborate, the broom sticks hang together, meaning they will all attack at once. This was considered as, in a perfect line, Yukine eliminated this fraction of enemies. The brooms were all broken, and their magic dispelled. Raj growled fiercely in reaction to the immobility of the brooms. "Looks like you'll be my lunch." Raj arrogantly assumed the moment he saw Yukine. There was no ounce of fear within Yukine as he confronted the beast- not yet, anyway.

Zen watched Kichiro in action, bouncing off trees with odd mobility and slicing the brooms with precise movements that actually impressed him a bit. Interesting. He won't be able to deal with the talking tiger that easily though. That thing is going to tear him apart if I don't get back into my human form soon On queue, Raj began making a mad, berserk dash towards his guild member who had just landed. With no options, really, Zenshin made a nose dive and struck Raj at the center of the top of his head, causing him to instinctively stop and move to the side, attempting to avoid any more harm. The tiger roared at him, "You pest, let me have my meal and then I'll play with you. Dam crows"

Again, he charged Kichiro, and again, Zenshin went and pecked his head, causing the large animal to retreat once more. "Fine, you can be my appetizer..." Raj said again, obviously annoyed at the guild master's feeble attempts at attacking him. Also on queue, Zenshin was surrounded by another cloud, followed by him falling a few feet and staring the beast in its eyes. "You've got it all wrong. *I'm* going to play with *you*. Kichiro, I'll deal with the house cat, please keep me covered" he said, stretching both of his arms. "HOUSE CAT!?!?!" it roared again while charging the Saint, who was calmly prepared for whatever it had to throw at him.

Yukine was startled to see that, even as a bird, Zenshin was trying his best to defend him, but why? Just how powerful was this beast? Zenshin, one of the Ten Wizard Saints; was Raj comparable to his power? Albeit, as he could tell from Zenshin's movements, Yukine had to act swiftly again. To his surprise, however, more brooms appeared, and a cloud surrounded Zenshin, yet again. Thankfully, Zenshin had returned to his usual self at this point, though he still required assistance. This would indeed be an interesting brawl. Yukine watched as Raj was going for Zenshin now, though it was obvious the tiger originally wanted the young boy. Yukine had no choice but to take the brooms on first. He utilized a tree as a trampoline again, and used it to ascend himself. The brooms knew his last tactic, and so they charged at him frontwards this time. Yukine swiftly performed a bottom-left to top-right diagonal slash, then the opposite, and finally, a front flip- all with the fearsome power of Yato, and his rapid slicing abilities. Unfortunately, performing such a tactic was equivalent to a full magic release with the sword, which ultimately drained it of all its power once the assaults had collided. Again, the animate brooms had been annihilated, though the tiger still remained.

Yukine watched after as he knew Zenshin was going to make a counter against the wild beast. To think a misplayed spell would make a beast so malicious was beyond Yukine's imagination. He was a little frightened, in fact. However, especially in front of his master, Yukine couldn't show it. "Show him what Sabertooth's about!" Yukine cheered. Unfortunately, Yukine's cheer caught the attention of yet another form of opposition, which ultimately angered the Mage. Yukine prayed that Zenshin would survive this fight, as now, Yukine was only holding a regular sword, the spirit of Yato idle in Yukine's soul, and unable to be used for the meantime. Things were about to get nasty, and Yukine was worried that victory may not be on their side.

'Monster Dice' :

"Of course." he said, smiling at the tiger charging at him. Zen took a breath and closed out any distractions around him, such as the wardrobe that had finally made its appearance and Kichiro, who had to be the one to fight it. I hope he doesn't have too much trouble. Then again, how strong can a storage box be? he thought, one last thought before focusing all his attention on the berserk beast before him. Zenshin raised his fists and took a step back while squatting a bit as the beast pounced, its arms outstretched and claws honed in on his head. Just before its sharp weapons met his forehead, however, Zen squatted quickly and drove a swift uppercut into the center of the tiger's belly.

A crack could be heard as it was sent slightly into the air by the force of the blow. Another blow followed, another uppercut to be specific, right next to his last point of impact, sending the monster a little higher. As it fell, the guild master took a step to the side, giving it room to land and collapse on the floor. Is it over? Was that the extent of the tiger's power? I hope not he thought while shaking his hands and shoulders. He was just getting warmed up, could the terrorizing tiger really be out for the count? Looks like he's still got some fight left he thought with a smile as his opponent got up and quickly sent a flurry of claw strikes at his abdomen, hitting his exposed chest a few times and causing shallow cuts.

Looks like its beginning to get serious

Yukine took a quick glimpse of Zenshin's fight before looking back at his opponent. It was the Flying Wardrobe! Though the appearance of this monster seemed weak, it was actually greatly enhanced with spells, meaning it served as a real threat to Yukine. "Be careful." Yukine thought to himself. He could see that the wardrobe's animation gave it human capabilities as it could walk. In fact, it could even sprint towards Yukine, if it wanted to. However, currently, this wardrobe was airborne, and seemed ready enough to unleash some serious pain. Yukine prepared himself as he continued to use the idle Yato. The wardrobe charged at Yukine with an aerial assault, aimed to smash his head apart. However, Yukine managed to counter as he quickly jumped towards the wardrobe, and sliced through the middle of it. While he thought about it, this was the same way Yukine stopped the brooms, and so it'd seem logical that the wardrobe would be defeated, too. However, this was not the case.

The wardrobe opened its doors the moment Yukine sliced through it. It was completely unharmed, though Yukine noticed that inside, the wardrobe contained ten of Hilda's dresses. One dress happened to disappear the moment Yukine slashed through the foe. Could this mean that the wardrobe possessed multiple lives. Yukine could only assume so. The wardrobe continued to attack, and more cabinets opened. Scarves now began to chase after Yukine, and hoped to strangle his neck. However, Yukine counteracted by swiftly swinging through each scarf, tearing them apart. On the contrary, Yukine still had to add a minor hit to the wardrobe to keep it away, which he tended to do after every portion of scarves. Yukine was concerned to see what else the wardrobe had to offer.

Aside from the flying wardrobe that was currently attacking Kichiro, Zen wasn't too aware of the situation outside of him and the tiger. All of his attention was necessary to keep him from harming him too much, as it was apparently docile most of the time. He had a hard time believing that, and as time went on, the belief didn't get aby weaker. Leave it to the magical beings of a completely different country to call outsiders to take care of their problems just to avoid embarassment. I hope I can convince Kichiro to go exploring with me for a bit after this. Aside from the one clumsy which, I'm sure this place has a bunch of secrets that are undiscovered. Or, better yet, things for me to take back! I can't wait he thought with a smile as he sidestepped the monster's pounce.

It hit a thick tree that was conveniently placed behind him, letting out an audible thumping noise as it fell to the ground. Sure, tigers were ferocious and fast, but his reflexes were unmatched by nature thus far. Who knows, maybe nature would prove him wrong one of these days. It seemed like today wouldn't be the day though.

Yukine heard a crack from several feet away, able to take a quick glimpse of what happened during Zenshin's fight. The almighty beast was surely being tamed, and this was not surprising. Meanwhile, Yukine had to deal with this Flying Wardrobe: an animated object that used accessories to eliminate its opposition. Unfortunately, still, Yato was idle in Yukine's soul. Yukine saw that he was now targeted for an assault by several shirts. Yukine assumed that they would forcefully dress themselves on his body , and strangle him. However, with Yukine's thoughts, such an action was bound not to occur. Yukine quietly expelled the Regalia chant from his lips as he sprinted away from the shirts, and summoned Hiyori. The Flying Wardrobe descended towards him as Yukine did the exact opposite. Again, Yukine slashed through the wardrobe with his sword, but also added a hard punch with Hiyori's shield, which ultimately sent the wardrobe hurling into another tree.

The wardrobe, after awhile, stood back up again, and revealed another rack of clothes inside it. In total, there had originally been fifteen lives inside the wardrobe, though now there was thirteen. Yukine was getting closer. So far, this wardrobe was his rival, despite how silly it sounded. Yukine continued to unleash bombardments of attacks, until he noticed that something weird was occurring within the wardrobe. It was obvious that, as it lost lives, the wardrobe grew stronger, and became more aware of Yukine. Once again, the Sabertooth Mage was in trouble. The shirts still chased Yukine around, which made him have to cut all the clothes down. However, as he did this, the wardrobe approached him further, looking as though it were about to unleash something diabolical.

"Raj just stop. You can't beat me and having to knock you out is really a pain for me. So could you just do me a favor and just return to your witch. She misses you." he asked him, trying to resolve this without any more fighting. It simply disregarded his request, quite rudely actually, and followed up by charging the mage with its mouth open and its claws ready to strike again. Before it was able to reach him, though, Zen sent a swift knee right into its lower jaw, shattering a few of its teeth like porcelain and sending it up towards the sky. What he didn't expect though, was that the tiger would dig its claws into his shoulders on the way down, hanging onto him as if his life depended on it.

"YOU'LL PAY FOR CALLING ME A HOUSE CAT!" he roared again, not particularly scaring anyone. Aside from the tingling sensation in his shoulders, he was fine. Raj's claws weren't deep enough to cut into anything important, and he was getting really heavy. "I think I've had enough of this you dumb cat" he whispered before dropping all his weight forward, causing the tiger to fall backwards and land on its back. "Looks like cats don't always land on their feet"

Yukine felt concerned over Zenshin as he took yet another quick look of his battle. The man now had claws in his shoulders, it seemed. Yukine couldn't see what went on later as more accessories chased him. Necklaces, rings, and most embarrassingly, undergarments. "Just how many items does--" Yukine was interrupted as the wardrobe was about to launch a spell. Yukine jumped swiftly out of the assault's range, and ran towards the wardrobe. While he was about to perform a tactic, Yato called out to him. Yukine immediately responded by brushing over the side of the sword with his middle and index finger. The wardrobe attempted to attack physically, though Yukine managed to bounce of it's reach, too. "You who would desecrate this land of the rising sun, with my advent, I, Kichiro Yukine, lay waste with the Sekki, and expel thy vast defilement!" Yukine had his speed and reaction time booster again, which allowed him to strike this wardrobe with ease. As he utilized the full power of Yato, Yukine rapidly dodged the melee attacks of the wardrobe, and cut through it swiftly and mercilessly. It had released all of its accessories already, though Yukine's speed easily surpassed their awakening.

Before he knew it, Yukine distanced himself from the Flying Wardrobe, and saw that he had eliminated an additional ten lives, leaving the wardrobe at three remaining resurrections. The Flying Wardrobe was outraged now, and became more powerful than ever before. With the spells Hilda knew, this Flying Wardrobe managed to rid Yukine magically of some of his surroundings. Trees had disappeared, and whilst on its rampage, a lot of land was destroyed. It was time to put an end to this monster.

"This is getting a bit ridiculous Raj. You can't beat me. I'm not some fledgling mage that wandered into the wrong part of Seven. Just let me help you up and get you back to your companion. I'm serious, she really does miss you" he said as he used his mana cicatrize to heal his shoulder's wounds. "Not a chance, human. I'll teach you to underestimate the mighty tigers of Seven" he said before disappearing. What?! He's so fast! How, he was just on the ground a second ago. Could he have been holding back all this time? he thought in a sort of surprised panic that lasted momentarily. Right now, Zen had to concentrate on the sounds around him. Sure, the tiger could move faster than his eyes could see, but he couldn't mask his sounds.

Left side he thought, bringing his left arm up to block a claw strike that came at the same time as his defensive maneuver. Above again, he blocked in sync with the attack that came from over him. In front just like the other two times, he was right on the money when it came to Raj's attacks. Good thing that he really wasn't a fledgling mage, as Raj would definitely have hit him all three times. "HOW! HOW CAN YOU BLOCK ALL OF THESE WITH SUCH EASE! WE ARE THE MOST FIERCE FIGHTERS IN OUR JUNGLES! HOW CAN A HUMAN BE FASTER THAN A HUNTER!" he roared in frustration, reappearing in front of the Saint. "Because Raj. I am one of the strongest mages that my country has to offer" he said calmly, ready for the counterattack.

The wardrobe had become much faster as it managed to rush at Yukine too quickly for him to react in the state he was in. The wardrobe had sent an uppercut into his stomach, which sent him airborne, blood expelled from Yukine's mouth on impact. The Flying Wardrobe then opened its doors wildly, and unleashed what seemed to be a portal. Yukine, in a fast manner, avoided this "portal" from coming into contact with him, though he had come across the wardrobe again, only to receive a kick to his upper chest. Yukine fell over, pain all over his body. The wardrobe attempted to stomp on him, though thanks to Yato, Yukinr rapidly rolled of harm's way. He then used his lineage to heal a bit: The Pride of a Mercenary. The moment the wardrobe turned in attempt to stomp on Yukine again, the boy was able to swing through the wardrobe's legs with Yato, which cut them off, and generally made the wardrobe fall.

To his surprise, while he thought the wardrobe was defeated, the legs he cut off regenerated. The wardrobe was on yet another rampage, and Yukine had to act quickly. Yukine had Yato merge with him, and increase his speed and reaction time even further. With this, simultaneously, Yukine started to dodge the wardrobe's assaults again, and smash it high up with Hiyori's shield. Yukine distanced himself farther than usual after this, and knelt on one leg. Despite being healed at one point, Yukine could still feel the agony of losing wind twice. It hurt a lot, though Yukine had to make some sort of resolve.

He's so resilient, I need to end this quick before he shows me any other unwelcome surprises he thought before closely observing Raj disappear again, leaving only an afterimage as evidence that he was ever there at all. "Raj, you are definitely a strong opponent. But I've had enough of your games. You should know by now that just because I can't see you-" Zenshin swung his right hand downwards in a punch with as much force as he could possibly muster in his fist. Out of the air came Raj, who hit the ground and hit it hard. The force of the blow created a miniature crater under the head of the tiger. There was no doubt in his mind that this fight was over this time, his only concern is that he hoped that it hadn't killed him.

The mage knelt down next to the tiger, putting his hand in front of its nose. "Hit you. Dumb animal. Still breathing, luckily I wonder how Kichiro is faring against that wardrobe. Hopefully well, I wouldn't want to step in unnecessarily, that would probably hurt his pride and get him upset with me. Well, I know that's how I would feel. I think I'll just watch for now he reasoned while getting at a safe distance from his guild member and the killer cabinet.

Yukine stood up pridefully and laughed while he experienced agony. "You're gonna be defeated by something as easy as this?" The boy thought to himself. Yukine used the last ounce of Yato before making him idle again. He swung a strong slash through the wardrobe, then bounced back to a safe area. The wardrobe was fast, though distance mattered, as well. The wardrobe still stood with only two lives left. The only problem was that the wardrobe became even stronger after every life lost.
