Job: Watch My Lizard! (Kyoniking and Zero-Xander)

Quincy just got back from a job when she noticed something posted on the job board. Strangely enough this job has been posted every other month and no one ever does it. The name makes it seam simple enough. All you have to do is watch a lizard and make sure nothing breaks. After a few more minutes of goofing around she went on her way to Era to do the job.

Arriving in midday she knocked on a door to a nice house in a clean-ish neighborhood. A man opened the door and welcomed her kindly. He explained the details about the lizard which made her wonder why he had such a pet, but whatever a job is a job and she wasn't out here to stare into the middle of nowhere. A few moments later the man left with saying "Oh there is also going to be a young man coming to assist you." With that he slammed the door and went on his way.

Zero was told to meet the homeowner at his house, and that he would be filled in when he got there. It took him a while as he was across town when he took the request, but soon enough arrived at his destination and was slightly confused. He looked down at the paper in his hands. "This is the right address, but where is the homeowner and who is this girl?" He thought to himself, he decided to disregard this and walked up to the young girl, he asked, "Do you know where the owner of this house is? I am supposed to meet him for a job." He saw that this girl was seemingly waiting for someone, and was also a mage as he could tell by her tattoo, he then connected the dots and said, "Never mind, fill me in on the details inside." He said, as he opened up the door to the house for the girl to step inside before him. "I'm Zero Drake by the way."

Quincy tilted her head with a quirky smile "Hi I'm Quincy. The home owner left already and it would appear that we are going to be doing this job together." She signaled for him to follow her into the house. It was a pretty large house at that. "So we are supposed to watch this lizard that cannot eat anything but these leaves." She placed herself on the couch and placed a pouch on the table in front of them containing some strange plants. The lizard itself was in the other room minding its own business and somehow made its way into the same room they were in like just on que.

She went to the lizard and started petting it. It was so pretty and its scales glittered so much that Quincy was all over them like a fly on a piece of meat. She made sure that the lizard was away from all kinds of food like the owner said. She wasn’t going to balls this mission up, even though she has done things like that in the past.

Zero walked in behind Quincy, who explained what had to be done. "Simple enough." Zero thought, all they had to do was watch a lizard that can only eat a certain type of food. Zero then began to stare out the window from where he was sitting, and looked at all the people passing by, noting the surroundings of the house, he might just be being paranoid, but in his mind he was being prepared, as who knows when an earthquake or something could strike. He then looked at Quincy and asked, "Lamia Scale huh?" He saw the tattoo from earlier and wondered what it would be like to be in a guild, the thought has crossed his mind before, but after seeing this lively girl brought the thought back up. As this girl is quite young, and made him wonder just the vast amount of different people that make up each guild. He had been thinking of joining a guild as of late, and wanted to see what this girl had to say about her guild.

'Monster Dice' :

Quincy replied with a simple 'Mhm' and followed Zero to the window. "Whatcha lookin at?" She asked as a group of teenagers walked by. As soon as she got to the window they shot her a glance that shot her into a complete paralysis. It was like they were staring into her soul. Normally people never scared her but they just stared at her like she was not even there, right through her soul. She grabbed Zero by the arm and pressed her face against it and let out a squeak. After noticing she let go and blushed a bit and then realized that this boy had no tattoo or symbol. She looked at his face in question "What guild are you from anyways?" She let go and backed away from the mirror just so that she doesn't have to see those teenagers again. They really gave her the goose bumps and she is most definitely going to have nightmares about them.

After Zero asked Quincy the question she walked over to Zero and looked out the window, he saw the teenagers walk by and look at them. Their gaze seemed to pierce right into his soul through his eyes, but his eyes have much worse things inside them. He held fast as Quincy recoiled in fright and grabbed his arm and screamed into it. He was slightly shocked by this, but showed no emotion as she recoiled and blushed. She then looked at him for a while, then asked him what guild he was from, he replied, "I am not part of a guild, I am a mercenary." He also saw that she seemed to be startled by the kid's glares and said, "Don't worry about those stupid teenagers, their just kids." He then looked back at the lizard, as it was about to eat something it shouldn't and jumped up to grab it before it could. "Gotcha" he said as he caught it, "Eat this" he said as he gave it one of the leaves it was supposed to eat.

Quincy watched as the boy fed the lizard, the man said it would be more of a challenge than it looked. She shrugged and sat back down on the couch where she could see the sun setting through the window. Staying the night here would be a problem if they don't take shifts making sure the lizard doesn't eat anything other than the leaves seeing it has no cage to keep it in at night. She stretched her arms up and let out a yawn and looked out the window one more time.

Quincy screamed as she saw the teenagers again completely catching her off guard. She fell backwards off the couch in terror and surprise. She then peeked her head over the top of the couch "Their here again! They scare me soo much, they just..." She let out another squeak to emphasize what she meant. She ducked her head back behind the couch to hide from them as if they were actually in the house.

Zero stood there feeding the lizard, when Quincy walked over to the window and looked out of it. He saw her freak out and exclaim that she saw the teenagers again, after falling behind the couch, he wondered how someone could be so terrified from teenagers stares, but gave Quincy the benefit of the doubt. She was startled by them again apparently, as she exclaimed fright after getting up then squealed. Zero then walked over to her with the lizard in one arm and gave her his other arm to help pull her up if she wanted it. "Their just kids, they can't do anything." Zero thought that this was gonna be a boring mission, and it turns out it was becoming even more boring than he expected.

Whether Quincy accepted Zero's help or not he would attempt to walk back towards the couch and sit down to relax for a little while, and to keep an eye on the lizard.

'Monster Dice' :

Quincy made a face of defeat "I know but they are so god damned scary!" She pressed her hands against her face. It was pretty late into the night now and things were starting to get pretty calm again. Everyone should be going to bed in town and this was the simplest job and she still was worried about messing up. She let out another yawn when she saw something shining outside the window heading towards the back. A flash of white hair and what looked to be a pan of some sort. "Uhm Zero? I just saw somebody head around back. Can you go check it out while I stay and watch Yuri over here." She went next to the lizard and started handing it some leaves hoping that Zero would actually take care of the person out back. 'Note to self never take a job out here in Era, everyone is creepy and there are alot of snoopers'

Zero also saw the person outside, and was already heading out to check it out when Quincy told him to check on it. "I'll check it out." Zero said as he walked to the back in order to see who was in the back. He opened the door and a frying pan swung towards his face, he quickly used magic to block the hit, and then created his sword, then heard "WHOA WHOA WHOA!" At this he put his sword down as he saw who did it. It was an older woman, and he told her, "Well then don't try to hit people with frying pans." After Zero said this she left, as she figured getting the lizard wasn't worth fighting a mage. Zero walked back inside and told Quincy, "I'll stay up overnight and watch the lizard." He then sat down on a couch and prepared to stay up.

Quincy smirked in gratitude with the offer to watch Yuri. A few more minutes she would pass out and pretty much forget the rest of the night. It wasn't until noon she woke up to see Zero still awake watching the lizard. Quincy felt ashamed that she didn't really help with taking care of it, but the job was done nonetheless. About two hours later after breakfast the man of the house returned from his trip. "I hope Yuri didn't cause to much trouble." He said when he walked in. "Not at all, more of those creepy neighbor kids." Quincy shivered slightly and let out a hearty chuckle with the man. The rest of the day was spent with the man to eat lunch which he so humbly offered out of the kindness of his heart. Despite every time the teenagers came around the corner scaring the living hell out of Quincy, she actually liked it there in Era. He handed them their jewels and sent them on their way. So far looks like mission accomplished.
