Akryn hurried through the streets, and the crowds, rushing towards the commotion. An urgent request for help had gone up in the guild less than two hours ago, and Akryn had responded. Unfortunatly, he had not had time to find anyone else, and no one else had seemed to respond. He had hoped he wouldn't be the first on scene, more backup then anything else. This kind of job seemed a bit big for him. But people were in immediate need, and he couldn't in good conscience step back and wait for someone else to take the lead. Not while he had the power to help.

With another leap over an over turned wagon, he entered the area of the ruckus, slowing down to get a better look at his surroundings. Burning buildings, a few bodies it seemed, and a lot of panicing individuals. The task was starting to seem even more daunting with every passing moment. But surely the call for aid had gone out to more than just one guild, and he hoped that they to had sent aid. He had to be careful in his aiming, didn't wanna hit a possible ally while trying to blast the baddies afterall. Or even worse, the multitude of civillians rushing about in a panic. "Good grief." he muttered, looking at the destruction, mayhem, and panic. The report had said expect more than one, but this kind of damage suggested either several high power wizards, or a much bigger group than expected. Neither bode well for him......

Kara hadn't ever been to Oak Town before - or at least she didn't remember being here in the past - but she was fairly certain it didn't always look this way. Smoke was pluming into what she assumed was the market area, the location designated when she saw the job a couple of hours ago. She'd arrived into town by train, and had begun running as soon as her feet touched the concrete floor of the station so as to reach the location of the emergency as fast as possible.

As she began to approach the area, Kara noticed that a man with silvery hair and wearing what appeared to be leather combat gear rushing in the same direction. It didn't take a genius to work out that this guy was a guild mage. Either that or he was some kind of a mad man which, given the nature of the job, was certainly a plausible possibility although Kara severely doubted that. She watched as he jumped over a wagon and came to a halt, and followed suit as she jumped over the wagon effortlessly and landed beside the man. They were close to the scene now, but there was no immediate sign of the culprits. There was certainly more than enough damage to prove they'd been here not to long before the pairs arrival. Kara looked at the smoke plume again and darted down a back alley, which she assumed was a shortcut. "Down this way! Quickly if you're helping!" she called back to the silvery haired individual. She had no time to wait around for dawdlers. She might struggle alone initially, but she hoped that this guy was there to help and, even if he dawdled, he'd be there in time to back her up.

    ✥ ✥ ✥ ✥ ✥ ✥ ✥
    Time is a beautiful thing.

Hidate had made his way to Oak Town a day ago. He had been looking for a famous library that had been mentioned to him before, and hoped to find information about Fiore and its inhabitants. Along with the library, Hidate also found out about a current problem the town has been having, Fire Make Mages. Lately there has been a group of fire make mages that have been showing up in the markets and streets of Oak Town, terrorizing and harming it's citizens. The day he arrived in Oak Town, there were signs of fire magic, such as buildings and market stalls having singe marks, and of course, the constant murmuring about the mages in the crowds. However, Hidate had put no thought into these signs, as he was not accustomed to the town.

Nonetheless, today Hidate had heard a large ruckus coming from another part of the town. Hidate looked out through the windows of the library he was in, and noticed smoke billowing out from atop the buildings. Hidate sighed and closed his book titled, 'The Myths and Legends of the Raskovnik'. He would have to find more about the subject later. For now, he had to get over to the scene.

Hidate rushed out of the library, down its steps and made his way through the clamoring crowd. He could see many people running around, trying to get out of the area. He could hear words being shouted while, 'Demons' and 'Down this way', were the most prominent; However, he payed them no attention. Hidate tried to look through the crowds, but only saw a flash of blue hair and fire from the center of the commotion. He peered through to get a better look but the flashes disappeared.  He could see no way through this crowd at the moment and looked around for another path, when he spotted an alley. He turned his body and took off down it.

Akryn slid to a halt as the woman rushed by, calling for him to follow her. After a quick glance up and down her body, he was a guy, sorry, he decided, why the hell not? He could think of worse looking people to follow, and she looked like a legal wizard, likely here to help as well. No point in turning down help. He quickly altered course, sort of following her, but using his wind walker spell as well, to run through the air, up to the rooftops. A better opportunity to find the enemy and eliminate them immediately, and he was far from disappointed.

No sooner had he reached the rooftop when he spotted his first opponents, a couple of low level punks, throwing fireballs and spewing gouts of flames. Akryn immediately realized that his best chore here was His best attack was negated by fire, so for now he would stand by and call out targets. "Two goons to your left!" he called down to the girl in the alley way. He really hoped she was as tough as she was pretty, or this might end up really bad.....

It seemed the man she'd called to was indeed here to help, as he followed behind her...or perhaps a better definition was above her, as he'd somehow made his way up to the rooftops and was now running along them, albeit still just behind. Still, he had a better view of the scene from up there so Kara wasn't going to complain. At least, not for a moment anyway. "Two goons to your left" the man called out, clearly meant to be a warning. However, what he hadn't called out was that there was a stray fireball headed straight for the opening to the alley. As she shot around the corner she collided head on with it, being sent flying backwards into the wall.

The amethyst mage growled and looked up at Akryn with clear disapproval. "YOU COULD'VE WARNED ME ABOUT THAT INSTEAD!" she yelled at the top of her voice, attracting the attention of both of the fire mages. Still, she didn't mind. She was pissed now, and this just gave her something to release that anger out on. She got back to her feet as the fire mages took aim, a confident smirk written across her face. "Amethyst Make: Twin Sabres!" Two small purple spell circles appeared beneath her hands as a long, thin blade appeared within both of them. As the two fireballs were launched, Kara was already rushing forward.

The first fireball missed by a matter of inches, but the second was headed straight for her. With a quick slash with her left sabre she sliced the fireball and dispersed it around her before bringing her right sabre up and across, slashing the torso of one of the mages and cutting him down immediately. In a spinning flurry she continued her assault, although to no avail as the second mage used his senses and kept well away of the amethyst hurricane. When she came to a halt, Kara merely smiled and stood in a battle stance.

    Time is a beautiful thing.

Hidate had been running down an alley as he continued to hear the screams of the people on the street; He stopped quickly, looked up and noticed the rooftops. 'I could probably get a better view from up there.' Hidate took an open stance and lifted his right hand up perpendicular to his shoulder, with an open palm. Dimensional Mass Adjust He turned his hand to the left, 90°, and closed his palm. He quickly put his hand down and jumped up and on to the left wall. He hanged in midair on the wall before he slowly started to float down the side, but jumped to the right side, then the left again, until he was over the roof. He floated down towards the roof before regaining his full mass and dropping to the ground. He looked around and noticed a silver haired man running along the rooftops as well. "Two goons to your left" the man called out to down in the alleys. As he finished saying that a burst of light came up from  the alleys and a young girl could be heard. "YOU COULD'VE WARNED ME ABOUT THAT INSTEAD!"
Hidate jogged to the edge of the roof and peered down at the girl, who was now a swirling hurricane of purple. Hidate looked to the side and saw a fire mage coming up around the corner towards the girl as she took a battle stance and faced the other mage in the alley. Hidate jumped down behind the man as he turned the corner, and readied a fireball from about 30 feet away. Hidate stood up from the jump and put the mage in a Choke Hold. The mages fireball shot off, but up and into the air above the girls head, missing her. A few seconds passed before the mage was knocked unconscious and Hidate layed him on the ground. He looked down the side alley to make sure no more mages would come to sneak up on the girl while she fought the mage in front of her.

Post by Akryn 2nd March 2014, 12:13 pm

Akryn winced at the fireball that almost nailed his new female ally. "Sorry, didn't see it coming!" he shouted to her, before she would go into motion. For a moment, he could only stare in awe as she went on the attack with a truly impressive display of magic and fighting prowess, one that made him feel almost useless here. He was snapped out of his trance by another fireball that also nearly hit her, and he spun to see yet another mage being tugged into the shadows by someone. More help. Good, they would be needed, Akryn thought to himself as he noticed a large group of fire mages headed in the direction of his little group. About nine of them in total, and if they had a chance to link up with this current group, he and those still in the area might be fried.

Akryn sighed as he adjusted his glasses. He would have to slow them down, or this fight was over before ever getting started. "Big group incoming!" he called out, hoping those fighting would hear. "Gonna slow em down, finish here and come help me!" he shouted before taking off along the rooftops towards the group. On impulse, he activated his hail stone ability as he crested one roof, sending several softball sized hailstones at the group of mages, catching them unawares but getting their attention. But as he had cast the spell, he had slid down the other side of the roof and into a nearby alley. He needed to get in close, make it a bad idea for these fools to use their magic. And while they were looking up at the rooftop he had cast his spell from, he did just that. Rushing from the alleyway, one mage turned to look at him, only to get both feet planted into his chest as Akryn came flying out in a rocket like kick.

As the fire mage went down and his friends turned, Akryn curled his body, so that when the mage hit the ground, Akryn on his chest, he could launch himself into a roll, right back into a close quarters fight.

Although Kara was focused on the mage who remained stood in front of her, she was still able to pay attention to what her current teammate had to say. He was going to head off a larger group of the fire mages that were headed to their location. Although he could probably take care of himself, Kara didn't want to take any chances. She needed to finish her current opponent off, then rejoin Akryn in the fray. Of course, she wasn't yet aware of Hidate's presence. As far as she knew it was just the two of them.

She gripped her sabres tight, staring down the fire mage in front of her before she launched herself at him, attempting a double backhanded cross slash around the mages' middle. However, the mage caught her wrists in mid-movement, before sneering. Kara almost dropped her weapons as the mage burned her wrists in his grip, causing her to cry out in agony. After a few seconds he let go, before firing a wave of flames aimed for her chest. In the little time she had to react Kara was unable to dodge. The wave struck her square in the chest. Needless to say this man may not have been the most powerful of wizards, but he was certainly smart and quick Unfortunately for him though, Kara wasn't going to go down that easily. She gripped her sabres tight for a second time, before lunging forward and slashing the man down his front, before spinning and elbowing him in the face. He fell to the floor unconscious.
