Afternoon Freakout (Akryn, Night, Kyll)

Kyll had spent a good week and a half trying to master her healing magic, but it really wasn't helping that much. The spells were very new to her, but she wanted to bring her mother's legacy back to life. However, meditation alone was not helping as much as she truly thought. Akryn approached her with the job first and she was more than happy to take him along. Apparently Akryn had noticed that Kyll was in the meditation room and under the waterfalls in the Phoenix Mountains to work on her concentration as it did more help than usual. Kyll's mind was still cluttered with questions about her mother, yet even the spirit of Kalister did not give her the answers she needed. Kyll invited Aian because he hadn't been outside of the guild hall for a while. Maybe some fresh air would help him out. She wore her wooden back pack on her her back. She looked up at the sky to see that her quite large owl flew above fast scoping out the area. "Enjoy the exercise Erol."

My name isn't Erol.... Whatever. Thank you servant for bringing me along. I will see what I can do to be of use.

All Kyll, Akryn, and Aian would hear were just hoots and who's as he flew off. Kyll looked over at her team mate and guild mate with a smile. "He's really enjoying today. Usually he's in such a bad mood when he's around Geno. I guess getting a chance to be away from Geno really helps sometimes." She giggled as she stretched and walked along the path. She held the flyer in her hand. "So it looks like we have to help this mage out. He seems to be losing his mind slowly but surely. We don't have any leads to go by. So let's go around town and see exactly where this guy is."

Akryn was glad to be out. The guild had seemed rather gloomy lately. And besides, ever since his run in with that dark wizard, he had been training hard, and he really wanted to see how his new spells would pan out. He had no experience with this other guy really, but Kyll vouched for him and that was enough.

As Akryn walked a little behind Kyll, he couldn't help but glance down at her butt every now and then, fully realizing both Kyll and likely Zeno would slap him in the head if they saw him doing that. Oh well, it was worth the view, he thought to himself as he laced his fingers behind his head, looking forward as Kyll asked her question. His eyes widened as he looked at the town though. "Uh.....Kyll. I don't think finding this guys gonna be so hard." he said, pointing to the several plumes of smoke rising from the town. "I guess he finally lost it."

Aian had been keeping himself mostly locked away in the more abandoned parts of the guild hall: His room-the library-the garden late at night- avoiding as much contact with the other members as possible till he could figure out how to get himself pulled back together. His near fight with Eclipse and his memory loss was starting to become too much for him. It was making Aian panic more often than needed. However, despite his attempts at hiding he was found by Kyll. It seemed like she was requesting his help for a mission with a lower ranked member. Though not knowing what help he could be, he thought the mission would help clear his thoughts. He Agreed, and got his things ready; not taking medical supplies as Kyll was able to heal. Aian found that it was the new member he found at the garden with Alye and Kyll previously, Akryn. Once the trio were outside of the guildhall ready, a large owl was flying over there heads, hooting. Kyll appeared to respond to the owl, and explained to them what kind of mood it was in. Aian could tell it was not a normal owl, but he still couldn't hear what it said. Shrugging it off, Aian simply followed his current guild mates to the location of the mission.

"So it looks like we have to help this mage out. He seems to be losing his mind slowly but surely. We don't have any leads to go by. So let's go around town and see exactly where this guy is." Kyll started off upon reaching their destination from the long walk. Aian wasn't sure how the new member would be able to deal with this since they walked the ENTIRE way to oak town; which didn't hinder Aian at all. He was used to the extreme walks he would normally take and could probably walk around Fiore endlessly without ever getting tired in his current state of mind. It was true he was more focused on the mission; so it helped him regain some composure for the time being. However, the smell of smoke reached Aian's nose long before they ever got sight of the town. He kept it to himself as it was nothing short of what he was used to smelling from campers or other varieties. But when they caught sight of the town, Aian noticed streams of smoke flowing throughout the city.
"Uh.....Kyll. I don't think finding this guys gonna be so hard...I guess he finally lost it." Akryn stated, though Aian had already bursted out in full sprint; leaving the two behind; his natural sense to protect having kicked in. Fire was normally not a big deal for him to see; but a town aflame was another. Aian had suffered it in his childhood, a long stream of neverending nightmares and wales chorsing through his ears like an unholy euphoria. He never wanted to see the same thing repeated twice again.

Kyll looked up at the rooftops to see what was going on. She looked over at Akryn and Aian and nodded. "I think it would be best if we took down the group by surprise. Let's take to the rooftops." She jumped up on top of the roof tops to get a better look at things. She ran down the cobble stone roof tops. The click clack of her boots could be heard. She ran down to the town square where everything was going on. She skidded to a stop as she found the targets. "Well what do we have here..."

Beneath the group stood a group of three fire make mages. All male. Each one held a smirk on their face as they lay waste to the merchant stands there. "So you guys don't want to pay us our taxes for protecting you." A mage piped up. He wore a flashy outfit. A large red coat with a pink hat that had a lavendar feather stuck in the side. He held up a hand to scratch his beard. The man looked to be in his early 30s. The closed eyes mage glared down at the mage. He was dressed rather strange to her. There was lace around his neck.

She tried to think what was it that he looked like. "A pirate." Kyll said with a giggle. "I sort of like pirates, but this is just insane."

The leader took his hat off and dusted it off placing it back on. "We have done everything for you guys. Saved you from this and that. With out payment, we'll just... take your business down. A merchant that isn't making any money deserves to die.... UNDERSTAND?!" He held his hand up and a flame formed he through it at the merchant. Kyll couldn't take it anymore and flew down to block the attack.

The smoke cleared and their stood Kyll holding her arm up. Her arm was singed, but the fire retardant body suit wasn't harmed. "So... You resort to killing your customers when they haven't paid up?" The merchant she saved got up from his position and ran away.

"Tch..." The man said with a glare. "Just who are you?"

"I'm here to help... you've been causing such a ruckus that you had a price put on your head." Kyll said with a warm smile. "So... Either you come here peacefully or you get what's coming to you."

"Do you know what my name is?" The man said with a maniacal laugh. "I'm James Hook!"

Akryn, meanwhile, had split off like Kyll said. But instead of getting to town square, he had been forced to detour as he noticed a group of several fire mages waltzing down one street, burning everything they could get to. Akryn sure as hell wasn't gonna stand for that and he quickly raced across the rooftops to the attack. As one mage in the back began to set fire to a house, Akryn would leap from the rooftop behind him, going into a bit of a spin before launching a brutal kick to the mages spine, activating his windstep spell as he did. Normally this would propel Akryn back, but this time he used it to propel the mage forward, through the wall he had been starting to set ablaze.

This got the attention of the other five, who spun about to face Akryn, but he was already on the move. He activated three spells at once, his downpour spell, his shock touch spell, and his shock step spell. In the blink of an eye, and the flash of lightning, he was right in front of two of the fire mages, already moving, as he continued thwe use of his wind step spell to propel himself forward, doing an electrified clothesline on the first two mages with enough force to send them end over end, before his downpour spell would fire at another mage, blasting him back into a nearby fruit stand.

Akryn quickly turned towards the other two mages but was forced to duck as one of them threw a flame encrusted punch for his head. Akryn dropped under the blow but then snatched a hand up, shocking his opponent as he grasped the mans wrist, before turning and standing up before suddenly bending and yanking on the mans arm, sending him flying over Akryn's shoulder into yet another, already burning, stall.

The sixth mage, seeing Akryn's back to him, grinned as he made a hammer out of fire and raised it, preparing to strike. He stopped though when an arrow made of ice thudded deeply into his chest. He looked down at the arrow, stunned, before noticing one of Akryns hands, down and turned towards him. "Sorry chap." Akryn said as he rose up and straightened his coat as a couple of the mages started to get back up, angry now. "But I don't have time to get burned."

Aian watched as Kyll and Akryn spli up going onto the roof tops as part of Kyll's suggestion. However, Aian had a problem. His immense mass made jumping onto a roof top hazardous; as it had about tripled since his pre-training and Lacrima infusion days. This made moving around light-footed a tad more troublesome. So instead of going about on the roof tops, Aian walked amongst the street not appearing to be in any rush or cause himself to stand out. After all, his attire made him look like a well mannered collage studant over a mage. Still, it didn't take long for Aian to come across a large amount of fire mages wrecking havoc around the town. Though Aian wasn't near town square and on the opposite side of the town compared to Akryn, he was bamboozled upon seeing so many fire mages attempting to burn down one of the town's streets of museums. More-over, it was likely that one would attempt to steal from them than burn it all down. Aian quickened his pace to attempt to stop the nine mages from rampaging any further. His first instinct however, was to try and get the fires put out.

Towns people were running about screaming and crying in fear of the mages as they continued their onslaught of flames. Aian's first attempt was to burst open the fire hydrents, and angle them in a way that would have the water heavily pour and sprinkle onto the walls of flames being created; though this would not stop the fires that were inside; it would prevent the outer structure of most of the houses from collapsing too quickly. Thus giving people a chance to escape. Aian did this to about five hydrants before a fire mage attempted to shoot a fire ball at him. The fire ball disperssed, and turned into fifteen smalelr versions; each swarming around in the air and homing in onto Aian's location and pelting him in a small-focused-circle. However, this didn't deter Aian, as he was beyond used to the sensation of heat; and the spell wasn't that powerful. An attempted scare tactic. Aian punched the ground hard enough to cause the earth to split where his fist landed, and pulled up a large chunk of pavement and earth. Aian hurled the large rock substitute at the mage; ultimately scaring him off to his comrads. Aian continued to subdue the flames and help as many people escape the scenario as possible; not attempting to follow immediately after the mage. His main goal was to ensure the safety of the citizens, as this would be for nothing if too many people perished under the hand of the lunatic and his minions. As Aian ran ahead after securing the area, he found himself in a traffic square, where the nine mages awaited his arrival; all holding up their hands incanting a spell to unleash upon him at sight.

Kyll looked at James Hook. She was rather upset with this situation. Kyll blamed herself for underestimating her opponent. He had more friends than she could count. "So.. Here's the thing. You're a crazy sociopath that needs to turn himself in for the good--"

"Good gods you're the crazy one, Lady!" The mage said looking at her. "I swear you need to turn around and leave this place before I have each one of my lackeys kill each and everyone of you."

Kyll put a hand through her bangs and sighed as she ran forward and jumped up in the air sending a kick straight to his clavicle. The mage smirked as he blocked the hit. Kyll gripped a fist as her yellow aura began to glow about her. "I don't care anymore. You're going down. Every single one of you are being turned in."

James smirked as he grabbed her foot. He slammed her down to the ground head first. Kyll got up easily from the attack and rubbed her head. "You know what they call the tanks that can get up after that?"

Kyll smirked as she stood in a defensive stance. "I don't know... Stupid? Because it seems that's where you're going with this."

The mage laughed at her and snapped his finger. "Exactly... You strength types are rather... dumb. Easier to roast." Three fire balls headed straight for Kyll.

Kyll blocked all three of them shielding her face as she flew backwards towards a merchant stand. She crashed into it and giggled. "I'm anything but stupid." She grabbed the nearest object on the stand and held it out towards her opponent like a weapon. When she saw what she said she laugh, a huge tuna fish. "I'm going to have fun with this." Kyll said with a giggle.

Spells Used:

The mage who had gotten hit by downpour was pulling himself out of the wreckage and snarling as he drew a sword, slowly advancing towards Akryn, as the two he had clotheslined got up and went separate ways. One headed towards Akryn as well, flames erupting from his fists, the other one rushing to pull his comrade from the burning stall. Akryn left him alone for now as he straightened and then turned sideways to his two incoming opponents, his right hand extending towards them, palm first, and his left hand tucking in behind his back. Downpour was still active, as was shock palm and wind step, but Akryn had a better idea.

The fire fist mage was the first to engage, rushing in to throw several jabs at Akryn, each one being deftly turned aside by the outstretched hand, before the pirate like fellow would throw a ferocious right. Akryn had been waiting for this, and as the blow came in, Akryn twisted his body, smacking the forearm of the attacking pirates punching arm to push it away, at the same time twisting in towards his opponent and dropping into a crouch. As he spun around, he would extend his elbow, ending up slamming it into the mans kidney to push him even further past, before coming up out of his crouch on the other side of the man, extending both hands towards both active opponents.

The man with the sword and the man with the flaming fists stopped and took a moment to look at eachother, before the one with the sword would throw it down and both would take off. The mage who had been pulling his friend out finishing his work and slowly dragging him off as well.

Akryn smiled a bit as he walked over and picked up the sword. "Glad that move worked. I must remember to thank my dance instructor. Who knew." he said before twirling the sword and using windstep to get up to the top of a rooftop again before taking off once more.

Aian stared at the nine channeling circles in front of him, as the mages prepared their attack. Even for Aian's higher rank, this posed trouble. The nine mages released nine large smuldering fire balls at high speeds all converging onto Aian's location. When they all struck, a large explosion occured that easily toppled the nearby building edges and created a smocking crator tenb feet deep and fifteen feet wide where Aian used to be standing. The nine mages thought they had gotton Aian and evaporated him, as the combined power was equivalant too about two or three S ranks of power. However, this was not what happened:
-Right before the blasts struck, Aian had leapt into the air blocking using his powerful jumping ability. Though his legs were caught and singed in the explosion; Aian's speedy flight got boosted and he made it out relatively undamaged. Though now his mobility was heavily reduced.

Aian came crashing down from high on above from his dodge in between the nine fire mages. They looked at him as though they saw a ghost. They all jumped back slightly and stared at disbelief, as Aian dusted himself off and stood at full hight. He looked at the damage done, then at the nine mages.

"Excuse me, but I do not think that was a very bright idea." Aian stated as the mages began backing up, "First, you all blew alot of your own power trying to instantly kill me. Though granted that is a smart plan, it backfired heavily. Second, you have no idea who you are facing; so this entire gamble was for not as you should have speculated your opponant before attacking. Third, you are putting too many people at risk. If you do not cease and desist, I will be forced to make you do so to protect anymore of the citizens from getting hurt. I highly suggest you all come quietly and lead me to the one who is in charge here leading you all." Aian explained, standing firmly tall in between the nine mages.

"Hah, we will never lead you to our leader! This Town Must BURN! EVERYTHING MUST BURN! IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO SAVE THEM!" The fire mage furthest away to the right of Aian proclaimed, making Aian sigh.
"Fine then. You leave me no choice; I'll make this quick." Aian retored, cracknig his neck and fingers. One of the more spooked out mages panicked, and shot a fireball at Aian in an attempt to stop him. However, without even turning his head, Aian clenched his left fist and hammered the oncomming fireball with nothing but his raw power. The fire ball disperssed upon impact, leaving Aian's left hand glowing red and steaming as though it was a heated slate of metal. Aian turned to the left, counting five mages who were all about to run. Yet it was too late for them.

Aian charged the closest mage to his left, punching them quickly into the stomach knocking their breath out. Aian proceeded to uppercut the victim in the jaw and then slammed his right shin into the poor mage; blasting them into the street knocked out and heavily damaged. Aian may have been a B rank, but when he needed to end something; he had the ability to increase his physical strength by removing that limiter in his mind that he had placed when eating his lacrima. Right now, Aian's strength was equivalant to an A rank physical user's. Not too mention he was the Iron Dragon Slayer, making his attacks devistating. Aian proceeded to charge at the next mage, leaping towards them low to the ground. He threw a speedy left hook that managed to literally hook the opponant onto his fist, as he charged them into the nearest building; blasting them through the wall unconciouse. Aian's next attack involved yet another leaping charge, grappling the running fire mage by the back of their head, and forcibly bashing their skull into the pavement; kncking them out. The fourth mage was also caught, as Aian charged them into a flying pile driver straight into the cement below. The last fleeing fire mage from Aian's left starting point, suffered from Aian tearing out a nearby mail box, and hurling it into their spine; rendering them unable to run anymore.

Aian turned to where the remaining four fire mages should have been, but saw no one. They fled while he assaulted the larger group. Aian slowly walked to the only conciouse fire mage, the one he pelted with a mail box. He lifted them up, causing their hood to fall, to see it was a girl. She was crying from both fear and pain, as she was unable to move.
"Tell me where he is.... Aian demanded, putting his guilt aside of having drastically harmed the girl in order to try and complete the mission.[/color]

Kyll a flash of light occurred when Kyll's meteor spell fully charged. The fire mage sent a whip flame straight for her right side. Instead Kyll jumped over the flame holding the tuna fish in her hand. She ran forward holding the giant fish like a bat. She threw her entire momentum into the fish and slammed it into his face sending the man up into Akryn's fight knocking out one of the mages he was fighting. Kyll dropped the tuna. She flew up to Akryn and looked down at the two mages. "Ooops..." Kyll said with a small giggle. She looked around for Aian. "Looks like I took your guy down by accident, buddy." She looked back at the square to see that there were two more mages causing trouble. "Oh man..." She flew back in a zoom and held her arms out clothes lining both of them down. "Look I know you guys are a confident in yourself and that's what I like... confidence, but you guys have got to tell me where your leader is." She poked both of the mages. Knocked out. "Tch... Looks like I over did it over here." She looked around for Aian, rather concerned. "Aian! You alright?"

She never worked with Aian before, nor had she heard anything about working with him. She worked with Akryn before and he was easy to work with. Down to earth and fun. Kyll walked around the streets, "Aian! Where are you?" Kyll called out to her guild mate. This was going to be rather awkward to explain to Zeno if he was taken down by some weak mages. On top of that... She wouldn't want to face Zeno if that was true.

Akryn smirked at Kyll, kicking some dirt a bit before discreetly sniffing the air while she was looking the other way. Most dragon slayers had an enhanced sense, and smell was Akryns. He had gotten a lock on both his partners scents while on the road for just such an occasion. Now to just track Aian without giving off his nose. No one, not even his most trusted friends, knew that he was a dragon slayer yet, and he fully intended to keep it that way. It wasn't that he didn't trust them, far from it, he would give his life for his guild, and had no doubts that his friends would do the same. But Thorsfell had bade him to keep it a secret as long as he could, to prevent exploitation, or would be assasins before he was strong enough to fight em off.

"Come on Kyll" he said, jerking his head in the direction Aian's scent was coming from. "Think I saw him head this way." he said before turning and hurrying down the alley, discreetly sniffing again. "Besides, dude is pretty strong from what I heard. Would have to be the whole damned crew to take him is my bet. Hell, he probably is having the time of his life right now! Lucky bastard." he said, trying to sound in good spirits. But he had caught several other scents as well, all headed towards Aian it seemed. And all sharing the same, underlieing, scent as the men he had fought....... maybe his claim of the whole crew wasn't to far off. "Still. No need in dawdling, yes? For all we know, he might have found the whole crew!"

Aian carried the female fire-mage over his shoulder. He didn't have time to take care of the other four; as their conditions were also no where near severe. Magic has come a long way into the progress of healing; he knew this girl would eventually make it through. Though probably weakened for the rest of her life. After all, he chucked a mailbox straight into her spine. Something was bound to have been broken. After all, most mages were not hardened body fighters; making them pretty delicate physically. But this was only the majority. The female was crying in pain, as she was unable to move on her own. Aian was more or less bound to finding a proper hospital than the mage leader at this point. Getting her the medical attention she needed was more important than the mission. After all, he already got the information he was after. Once he found the right hospital, thirty minutes of walking later, he got the girl the immediate attention she deserved. She was bound to not be doing anymore hell raising with that injury. Though she may still be tried and convicted according to the town's laws.

Aian wasn't told much, only a direction; the peak of the town. It was weird to hear of the Fire Mage in charge of this whole entire mess being up at the town's highest point. It made Aian wonder if there was someone else in charge of this whole mess.

"Any insane lunatic wouldn't be calculative in their positioning...They would be too busy causing and wrecking havoc. There has to be something behind all of this. I can smell it." Aian was highly aware of the spiritual surroundings of the world: The flow of the planet, the emotions of inanimate objects, and the presence of negative and positive energies people release. It was true Slayers had one or two hightened senses; but Aian and Reiki have shown to have most of their senses Hightened. Aian grew up in the pure wild for most of his life; making his tracking abilities of energies one of the highest. Aian would leap using his powerful leg muscles to launch his nearly One-Ton body weight over building after building; heading towards one of the highest buildings within Oak-Town.
