- Spoiler:
- Job: Afternoon Freakout
Rank: C
Player Requirements: Thread must be at least 20 posts long. C Ranked Wizards or Above. Or a combination of two D Ranked Wizards or more. 250 Words Minimum Each Post.
Job Requirements: Stop the paranoid Wizard and his cronies from attacking civilians in the market. Stop him before he's able too harm or kill 15 people. Must defeat ONE group of Henchmen or Cocky Fire Wizards and either the Insane Fire-Make Wizard, or the Mind Wizard. 3 wizards Max Allowed on this Mission / Job.
(Note: If you roll for the Mind Wizard and he appears, the Insane Fire-Make Wizard's spell will be broken, and he will flee the scene in horror of what he's done alongside any Henchmen, or Cocky Fire Wizards, who will also be freed from the spell, as the Mind Wizard is interested in fighting you with no help, on his own.)
Job Location: Oak Town
Job Description: A wizard is loosing his mind slowly, but surely in Oak Town. You've arrived on the scene shortly after a mission was hurriedly posted on the board. For the past few days, a Fire Wizard has been heading too the market with his band of wizards and attacking innocent civilians, claiming that they're Demons. It would appear that he's under some form of enchantment or spell that's controlling his mind. He still has his intelligence and still, he and his minions are a huge threat too those around them.
(Note: At the end of each round, he will roll a random Fire spell against a nearby group of civilians, a single civilian, or a shop / establishment. If you roll a miss, it misses. If you roll an attack, it lands and you loose 1 out of the 15 individuals you're supposed too protect.)
(Note: The name of the Wizard, and or his group of cronies is up too you.)
Enemies:
Weak: Henchmen Fire Wizard x3 (These guys use D-Ranked Fire Spells, mostly Fire Balls and Fire Streams that don't do too much damage. They can catch things on fire however. They go down in usually one hit, two at the most of any rank.)
Normal: Cocky Fire Wizard x3 (These guys use C-Ranked Magic, and are very skilled. They sling AOE fire spells at you, along with normal fireballs and fire streams. They take four C-Ranked hits each too defeat.)
Strong: The Insane Fire-Make Wizard (The source of the problem. A young wizard with a long blue coat with red runic markings on it. He has face length blue hair that sweeps around his face, with a deranged look and a constant toothy smile that just screams "I'm insane.", he uses a plethora of C-Ranked spells at rapid speed, and has a B-Ranked AOE fire spell that will deal incredible damage if you're hit by it. At the end of every turn, he rolls a "Damage Die" too see if he harms / kills one civilian or a nearby building / establishment. Takes 15 C-Ranked hits too defeat.)
Boss: Mind Wizard (The REAL source of the trouble in Oak Town, this guy brought the Insane Fire-Make Wizard under his control with his magic, so beware. He's a force too be reckoned with. If he appears, he will attempt too bring the civilians under his mind control, and force them too attack you. He uses Darkness-based magic along with his psychic abilities. Each round, he rolls a "Damage Die" if he misses, then he doesn't bring anyone under his control, if the Attack goes through then a group of civilians will attempt too impede your fight against him. Takes 20 C-Ranked hits too destroy. Will shield himself with Darkness-based magic, and strike with blasts of Shadows, and cause whipping shadows too jump from floors/walls/alleyways. Is very quick, and can have clouds of darkness lift him off the ground too get aerial and fight from rooftops. Good luck. His spells are C-Ranked, and B-Ranked.)

It was early in the morning, Jin had just finished making breakfast as part of his job as a chef. He wiped the sweat off his forehead as he made his way to the tavern. Kaya and a red velvet cake awaited his arrival. He sat down patting her head and began eating since he hadn’t had much to eat yet. ”Ne Ne Jinny, where is Rei-chan? Can I go play with her?” inquired Kaya. It was early in the morning and even the sun was barely up. Jin had to get up because it was part of his duties but he never awoke Kaya. Reently, due to her attraction to Rei she woke up early just to find her and probably annoy her. Jin didn’t approve of that but he had little choice in the matter since Kaya wouldn’t listen to him anyways. ”It’s early in the morning Kaya, she’s a growing girl who needs her sleep. And speaking of growing, so do you” he said in a gentle tone. He wasn’t mad at Kaya, he expected her to act in that way.
”Tch.. Jinny, you’re no fun” she said making a big frowned face. ”Well, I know I’m not much of a substitute but how about this? Until she wakes up, I’ll play with you” he said with a large smile. Kaya nodded and smiled back at Jin. Due to his rank and responsibilities, he had been fairly busy and didn’t have much time for Kaya. It would’ve been good for the two to spend some good times with one another. So the two played until dawn when Sophie came to talk to Jin and informed her about a peculiar mage going berserk.

Rei didnt wake up too early, being able to enjoy her sleep in a comfortable bed was too much of a temptation. Sh didn't awaken until the sun had come up a little, maybe an hour or so after Jin and started playing with Kaya. Rei jumped up and took a quick shower, today Jin was likely going to go on a job and Rei wanted to wake up early enough to tag along. She dressed in her favorite attire, the silk brack frilly dress and the umbrella. She left her little apartment after locking it and headed to the guild hall that was only a few minutes away. She gazed at the sun and knew it was going to be a hot day even this early in the morning.
She would arrive at the guild hall and look around for Jin- surely he would be around here somewhere. Eventually she found him and smiled cheerfully. She gave him a little hug and then picked up her favorite little friend, Kaya. Good morning Nii-chan, Kaya. she said cheerfully and patted the chibi sabertooth. Jin held something in his hand, Going on a job, Nii-chan? she asked curiously. She could see that it was indeed a job applicant's paperwork, though she didn't know the details of the jib, hence why she asked because she was sure Jin would tell her and likely invite her. She enjoyed going on jobs with Magna, Romulus and Jin more so than doing jobs by her lonesome. For many reasons of course.

Jin was a fan of magic and he strongly believed that magic could only be used for good. Magic was the means to help people and accomplish wonderful things. The news that some mage was roaming around terrorizing the village made him feel disappointed and slightly enraged. They had stopped playing now, Kaya knew that Sophie had whispered the details of some troublesome job into Jin’s ears. After Sophie departed, Rei made her appearance. Jin was lost in his trail of thoughts as he attempted to understand why had such a thing happened. Rei’s sweet voice brought him back into the present. ”Good morning Rei-chan” he said as he attempted to smile. He didn’t intend to hide his feelings, even though she was a child she was still a friend. Like all his friends, he did rely on her and trusted her. This was a situation that Jin had difficulty dealing with.
Sophie hadn’t just whispered the details about the job but also handed him the flyer with more description about it to him. He hadn’t even looked at it but Rei noticed it. ”Oh.. ah, yes. I’ve got to deal with a trouble maker.. haha” he said as he miserably failed to laugh it off. He wasn’t trying to fake anything, he wanted to shake it off really. For a person who had idealized mages and understood magic as a wonderful thing, this was a very difficult thing. Kaya jumped up and embraced Rei as she arrived, licking her cheek as much as she was allowed to. Even though she acted normally, Kaya could still feel the emotional imbalance her friend was experiencing. Jin wasn’t just her owner, they had been through very difficult situations together. They shared a bond that exceeded the simple relationship of a pet and owner.

Rei embraced Kaya and gave the adorable chibi sabertooth much attention. Rei had noticed that Jin didn't look too pleased with the specifics of the job: Rei was unsure herself, but she rarely saw Jin anything other than happy. There was no way she could let her big brother go on such a job by himself. Troublemakers? Rei and Mu-chan will go with you to deal with them. Rei said in a matter of fact manner. Normally she would ask politely to go along with Jin, but she was being quite insistent: she had a new ally to assist in the job as well, this time she could provide real help to her big brother.
Rei waited fir Jin to explain the job and let her see the job paperwork. It was a bad situation and Rei didn't want civilians to be victimized by misused magic. Jin was a kind man and this surely weighed on his heart, yet he tried to keep up a positive smile for Rei's sake. That made her adore him even more, but it also made her angry. She was inwardly angry that some people would misuse their magical gifts for evil purposes- Jin was altruistic and it hurt him to know such gifts were abused by bad people. Princess, your vital signs have increased, I sense frustration. Is everything alright? a robotic voice echoed in the room as heavy stomps were heard and Mu-chan entered the room which he barely fit through the doorway. His red eyes scanned the room and saw no cause of alarm. Mu-chan bowed as low as possible before Rei and awaited her command.
Rei shook her head to clear it and then patted Mu-chan's armored body. No Mu-chan, Rei is alright. Nii-chan needs help, we shall assist him. she explained and the metal dragonoid rose up to peer at Jin with indifference. Nii-chan, Kaya, this is Mu-chan. He found Rei recently and follows Rei around. she explained to Jin and Kaya.

Jin realized that he had done a lousy job to hide his frustration. Rei who was always the polite one and asked instead of telling, had just stated that she would go along with Jin. Obviously, Jin wasn’t going to tell her not to. It worried him a tad bit though. The file about Rei said that she had yet to exhibit her magic and he had gone with her on a job, she didn’t use her magic. So he wasn’t sure about taking her into a situation where she would be forced to use her magic. As a veteran mage, he had no doubt that she was capable of using magic. She just hadn’t used it for quite a while so he assumed that she had some trouble with it. ”Rei-chan, you might have to use your magic. Are you okay with that?”, he asked her with a worried expression. Jin understood that whatever the reason was, he would support her if she didn’t want to use her magic. However, in a job where he would have to fight multiple mages, he couldn’t be sure that he could keep her safe. There would most likely be a time where she would have to defend herself. How could she manage that without magic?
Before he got the answer to his question, a foreign sound interrupted their conversation. The sound was strange, probably not human. Jin was surprised to what emerged from the building and Kaya experienced a jaw dropping event. ”Scary” she whispered as she held on more tightly to Rei. Having realized that the robot had inquired about Rei, Jin deducted that there was no need to be alarmed. After being introduced to the robot, Jin smiled and extended his arm to shake: ”Nice to meet you Mu-chan, I’ll be counting on you to keep Rei-chan safe”. With a robotic friend like this one, he assumed that maybe, just maybe, Rei wouldn’t have to use her magic.

In truth, Rei was happy that this robot had found her and recognized her as a sort of master, a royal princess in which its knight-like dragonoid robotic services were indebted to for some unknown reason. It was helpful in all kinds of situations, but especially in combat- Mu-chan held a few secrets, namely the secret weapon of magic negation in a decent sized area: it was a dual-sword ability of course, but people often relied too much on magic. With Mu-chan around, Rei would have to use her magic less, if at all. That wasn't the way to be thinking though and she knew it: eventually she would have to face her darkness and embrace her magic to become a real mage. She couldn't be carried through everything, or at least with keeping her loved ones from being hurt from her fearful selfishness. Jin's question about her using her magic rang true and she stilled her heart and took a deep breathe, ready to reply. Mu-chan says he can protect me... but Rei will use her magic if necessary.
Mu-chan, didn't really move but his eyes flashed red as he understood that his princess was putting her faith into him. Jin offered the robot a handshake for a greeting, Mu-chan obliged and extended his large robotic clawed hand to Jin and delicately shook the human mages hand. Mu-chan greeted kaya similarly, using his retinal scanners to accurately judge the distance between his armored appendage and the chibi sabertooth's soft fur. Mu-chan will guard M'lady with every nut and bolt. said the robot, not realizing how funny his sworn oath sounded to humans. Rei giggled nd picked Kaya up, stroking the little sabertooth's ears and turning to Jin.
Nii-chan, we should go. Every moment away from Oak Town will result in more harm from the meanies. Mu-chan would concur, but mostly only because his princess wished to protect those unknown or deserving of her praise or attention.

Kaya remained in a shocked state for quite a while until Mu-chan patted her. That made Kaya relax and recognize him as an ally. ”Mu-chan, how many nutty bolty do you have?” inquired kaya as she heard the weird oath the robot had just taken. Jin couldn’t help but be impressed by the loyalty of this robot. He relaxed a bit realizing that he could share the responsibility of protecting Rei-chan with this robot. Rei pointed out that it wouldn’t be wise to stay at the guild any longer and Jin nodded. There was no need to inform Sophie anymore since she had asked Jin to do the job. ”You’re right, let’s go” he said as he turned and began to make his way towards the port of the island. In order to get to oak town, they would need to travel the guild’s distinctive plant based vessels. It would take them a few minutes to arrive at the port.
Jin would continue to take the lead as he would embark on the vessel, hopefully along with Rei and her reliable robot. The giant plant based ship would then set sail towards oak town. ”We have a few hours until we get there, we should rest up and be prepared for what lies ahead”. Jin had gone on plenty of jobs and regrettable fought plenty of mages who abused their magic. When left with little choice, he had given them a taste of how devastating magic really could be when used for violence. He didn’t like to use his magic in such a manner but sometimes he had no choice. He was sure that the current job was also a situation where he would have no choice but to do that again. On their journey, Jin couldn’t help but think about Rei’s reaction when she replied to Jin about her magic. He was now sure that there was something off with her and her magic. What could it possibly me? That question set him at unease.
After a few hours, the two mages would arrive at their intended destination.

Rei was glad Jin agreed, both were eager to get to Oak Town and save the weak and innocent from harm. For Jin, it was a disgrace and shame to know magic was being used in such a negative way. For Rei, it was rather personal. To her it was sort of like reliving her dark past: there was a bad mage who was causing pain and grief to innocent civilians who couldn't stand up or defend themselves. Rei didn't want anyone living through any situation similar to her own past. A fire burned in her eyes as they left the guild hall and went to the docks, they boarded the plant-like boat and began to cell. Little Rei admired the ship's structure, it reminded her of old fairy tails like elf stories: Black Rose was a strange fantasmal guild indeed.
Jin suggested they rest up while they rode a couple of hours on the boat to Oak Town. Rei tried her best to relax, but the thought of innocent people getting hurt and possibly having to use her magic, kept her tense. She stood on the rail of the boat and looked out over the calm waters: there was surely deep darkness beneath the smooth surface. Mu-chan was close by, he could sense her inner turmoil but knew he could do nothing- this was an inner battle that his princess would have to overcome on her own. Jin & kaya who were very intuitive to Rei's feelings were likely also concerned, Rei tried her best to keep her head on and a cheer on her face. Rei has friends and loved ones... Rei can do this. she thought to herself in a weak manner. Soon they saw the town in the distance, at first it was a small brown blur. It soon grew in size and color to reveal Oak Town, parts of the town were in shambles and burnt- something would have to be done soon about the havoc or nothing would be left of Oak Town or its inhabitants. It was still too far away to hear audibly because of the waves against the boat, but soon they would hear chanting from groups of men yelling "Demon demon demon!" followed by screams.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
The two Black Rose mages were still at a distance from the town but they could see flames rising from buildings. The civilians were panicking and the mages were running berserk. Jin stood next to Rei and grabbed her shoulder gently. ”Rei-chan, these people need our strength” he said expressing his trust of his ally. Normally, anyone would ask a child to turn away and stay away from such a situation. The normal protective instincts of humans were understandable under such circumstances. However, she wasn’t just a normal child, she was a Black Rose mage. Jin was the one who had approved of her rank up. He had made a decision that he would never underestimate her again. So despite the overwhelming situation in front of him, he was going to trust her abilities and let her help him in fighting those responsible for it.
Finally the ship arrived at the port of the town and the two disembarked from it. ”Be careful Rei-chan, our battle shall soon begin”, his experience told him so. The chaos was all around them and Jin didn’t know what to make of it. He was angry, frustrated, disappointed and sad at the same time. All of that could be easily seen since he didn’t know how to hide his emotions. He was a straight forward individual with a simplistic mind. ”I will protect Rei-chan” said Kaya with a determined look on her face. Apparently she had forgotten about her owner but he didn’t mind. ”We need to find the source of the problem” he thought as he looked around for someone who might provide them with some useful information.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
As they neared and the scene of devastation unfolded before them, Jin had placed a comforting hand on Rei's shoulder and that stilled her fast-beating heart. She breathed deeply and then raised a hand as if to motion something. Mu-chan recognized the silent command and scooped her up in one of his mechanical arms and placed her upon his back as if he were a humanoid-shaped horse, bi-pedal of course. In her new found seated position, Rei nodded to Jin, she wore an equally serious and frustrated face at the injustice they were witnessing. These people's homes were being burned, their lives were being scarred and things would likely never be the same for many of them. Only the most resilient of them would be able to face this as history and move on from such devastation or resentment towards mages in general, good mages or not. It was understandable of course, ignorance and hatred born of fear and resentment, a protective emotion that was likely to be instilled in these innocent victims in this situation. Rei knew well enough how the mind worked and she knew that her, Jin and their two companions were the only slim chance to prevent such ill-begotten emotions from being born from this havoc.
If possible, Jin and Rei would instill hope and respect in these people and give them beacons to place their burdens and dreams in. Rei and Mu-chan are ready to help these people. she said courageously from her heightened position. They stepped off the boat, which drifted a distance off shore to prevent rogue flames from catching its structure on fire. For now, Jin and Rei would be stranded on the docks of Oak Town and wold have to fight their way towards the center of town to figure out the cause and choke the embers to smoke. Mu-chan began to move, his red eyes scanning the environment for lifeforms, both hostile and panicked. A group of four civilians ran by a street ahead and screaming as they covered their heads and ran on blindly, stray fireballs could be seen flying over their heads, poorly aimed and missing the innocence barely. Mindless chanting about demons grew louder as Rei realized that the pursuers were close behind the panicked citizens. Rei bit her lip in fearful curiosity, Demons...? Rei patted Mu-chan and he lunged forward into the street and cut off the pursuing mages from chasing the citizens. Releasing the stream of power within the machine, it grew to its full height. Instead of the tall seven foot metal dragnoid, now it was twice as wide and towered at fourteen feet tall and roared down at the attacking mages.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
They had only set foot on land and the mages had appeared. That must mean either they were too unlucky or there was a surplus of them roaming around. Rei had decided to jump into battle and Mu-chan had used a similar magic to Kaya. Kaya couldn’t help but be amazed and slightly jealous. However, she grew more taller in height so she was satisfied with that. Jin rushed to Rei’s side as he too blocked the path of those crazy mages. ”Oi idiots, do you have a death wish or something?” said a rather loud and probably proud mage. ”Those damn weaklings ran away, now we will have fun with you weaklings” said the other. ”This large chunk of metal seems to be interesting, would be fun burning him down” said another stating the element of their magic. Jin shook his head in disappointment, why would they just state the element they used? That made things pretty easy for the heat manipulating mage.
Kaya was riding Jin’s shoulder and currently felt unnecessary to jump into action. Maybe she wanted to see how Mu-chan fought. ”I would love to converse with you but sadly, I do not indulge mindless creatures such as yourselves who dare abuse something as beautiful as magic” said Jin in a serious tone. He had no intention of negotiating, these guys were picking on weak civilians. No way, he would forgive such an act. Enraged by Jin’s word and unable to find an answer to his slightly sophisticated statement, one of them charged at Jin with a simple and linear fireball. They were at close range but still Jin could avoid the thing. However, he stood and grabbed the fireball as it got within his reach. He closed his fist as the fireball vanished. The attacker was shocked to see what had just happened. ”nani?!” he said shouting as he was even more angered now.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Jin and Kaya had jumped into the battle as well, of course Rei had expected that, Mu-chan wasn't phased by the combined forces, it would make completing the Princess's wishes that much easier. Rei would have thought that the appearance of the large dragonoid machine would be enough to cause the fire mages to coward in fear, but instead they laughed at Mu-chan and talked about burning him down? Fanatical, that was the only conclusion Rei could come up with that had somewhat sound reason and was logical. She overlooked the scientific incorrect use of fire they threatened Mu-chan with. Fire doesn't burn metal, it melts metal... she thought to herself, wondering if that stupid mage realized how ignorant he sounded, even an eight year old knew better! In fact, Rei would correct him. Stupid meanie! Fire doesn't burn Mu-chan, fire would melt Mu-chan! No melting Mu-chan! she yelled from atop the tall dragonoid while flailing her fists in outrage.
Mu-chan, sensing his princess's outrage at the fire mage's hostile threats, caused the dragonoid to go into more action that simply roaring to intimidate the bad guys. By surveying the immediate battlefield and structure damage, the machine had already calculated that the enviornment damage already exceeded that of beyond repair, as such Mu-chan didn't need to be considerate or careful when attacking. Fires raged on the sides behind the mages along with the burning solid structures of buildings on both sides of the street. Un-realized to the fire mages, they were in the perfect position for a funnel-type attack. Mu-chan's eyes flashed with the activation of a spell. Mu-chan's core spun radily in his armored body and Mu-chan opened his mouth while still speaking in an impossible manner for a living organism. Activating linear spell. said Mu-chan and then a small ball of red light appeared in the throat of the dragonoid. A mere second later, it erupted into a large laser beam that covered the width of the street and passed harmlessly over Jin's head as the human mage grabbed a fireball and crushed it. The beam of laser passed along the street and struck the group of mages and continued on down the stret for fifteen feet, dealing D Rank laser damage to the group of mages.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
The three mages were surprised by Jin’s capability and thus ended up getting hit by Mu-chan’s attack as he announced the attack. The three cocky mages didn’t understand who they were dealing with, both Rei and Jin were out of their league. Even though Rei had only ranked up recently, she had still shown the mental fortitude and calmness that gave her the upper hand in this battle. ”Now that you know your place, will you be willing to guide us to the root of the problem?” said Jin as he walked towards the three mages. They were still recovering from the damage the laser had inflicted on them. It was quite a bit of serious damage but wasn’t enough to knock them out. ”Tch.. you punks think a lucky shot would be enough to scare us?” shouted one of them as all three stood on their feet. This time, the three decided to combine their strength and tackle with Jin first. For that purpose, they began to combine their magic.
Immediately reacting to their hostile intent, Jin launched his counter attack before they could use theirs. An arrow appeared above his head and headed straight for them, giving them not much time to react. He had just used his long ranged spell: ”Bird of Hermes”. The attack used was cold based and thus ended up freezing quite a bit of the area and the flames nearby. The three opponents were now either half frozen or badly pierced and unable to remain conscious any longer. ”Nice work, Rei-chan, Mu-chan” he said as he turned and looked at two of his comrades. All this while Kaya had been leisurely resting at Jin’s shoulder, ”Jinny, what about me?”. Obviously, she didn’t like it if she wasn’t praised and Jin was well aware of that: ”You too, Kaya” he replied.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Mu-chan's attack had proved effective in the sense that it was a nice set-up for Jin's follow up with his own spell. Having single-handedly crushed one of their previous fireballs, the mages saw Jin as the major disruption to their plans. True Mu-chan was large and had inflicted moderate damage on them with the large laser, it was managable because they weren't KO'd. Now that they knew the trick, a linear attack like that again would prove less effective. Yet Jin remained an enigma to the fire mages, a mage who had thwarted a fireball with his bare hand without revealing his magic. Unlike their unrefined and inexperienced use of magic, Jin was level headed, shrewd and a step ahead of his opponents. As the three mages turned their focus to Jin and combined their magic for a real attack, Jin anticipated something hostile like that and set his own spell into motion. While they charged their spell, Jin released a single arrow of magic that vaulted towards them and froze their spellcasting, literally.
Where Rei had expected fire to come from, ice erupted and froze the mages, draining them of any ability to fight with the attack. Rei nodded in approval, her big brother truly was amazing. With those mages dealt with, Rei turned to see about the civilians, maybe they could get some information from the panicked civilians... unfortunately, all the civilians had fled the area as soon as the battle had begun. A much as it bothered Rei, there was little they could do but address the heart of the matter. Nii-chan, these mages mentioned demons. Rei thinks we should head towards the center of town, likely the heart of the problem. With her suggestion, Mu-chan began to move, its powerful legs breaking the stone beneath the street as it clanked through the streets. Rei's aerial position atop Mu-chan granted her a higher view of the town. the center of the town is less engulfed in flames, likely the stronghold of the mages. she deduced loud enough for Jin to hear.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Jin’s attack overdid a bit but he had no choice in the matter. He didn’t wish to risk the attack getting by him and hitting Rei or Mu-chan. Besides, it also help put out some flames nearby so that wasn’t too bad. People began to see both Rei and Jin as allies as they witnessed these sudden events. Without asking for reasons, directions or any kind of rewards; Jin and Rei had appeared and confronted the mages who had been troubling innocent people. The ones who witnessed these events cried tears of joy as hope began to make its way back into their hearts. Without a Rune knight in sight or any other means of getting rid of the mages, they probably had lost all hope.
Jin couldn’t help but feel pride in the capabilities of his little sister like friend. She had noticed the people referring to demons as they ran around. Not only that, she had used such a little hint to deduce the possible location of the main opponent. ”Lead the way, Rei-chan” said Jin as he began following her while he reduced the temperature of the area around him. The flames weren’t of higher temperature or quality, so he didn’t have to focus much to turn them down. As he passed by, the fires slowly began to deteriorate finally reducing to nothing. This too helped more people calm down. The reduction in fires resulted in more smoke rising and thus kind of interfering with Jin’s vision. His heat vision didn’t help since there were still plenty of fires all around them. ”Rei-chan, do you see someone?” he inquired from her since she had a better vantage point than he did.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
The job had said to stop the fire mages, it hadn't really said anything about the town itself, but it's not like Jin would leave the town to burn with only fulfilling the bare minimum of the job and leave the citizens to a ruined home. As Rei led the way towards the center of town, Jin did what he could to reduce the fire damage. The flames went down and the smoke went up- Rei's high vantage point on Mu-chan's head caused her some discomfort as the smoke rolled passed her sharp eyes. She rubbed them and veered her head to the opposite side of the smoke to keep her vision from blurring or burning. Jin asked if she saw anyone ahead, surely she did in the center of the town. Rei sees a singular mage who just commanded some fire mages who just ran off. Must be the Fire-make mage! she exclaimed in a discomforted excitement while coughing in the smoke.
Mu-chan sensed her discomfort and reached up and removed her from atop him and instead carried the little girl in his up-turned palm as a trophy aimed towards victory. They reached the center of the town with smoke rolling thickly behind them, the herald of their triumphant approach. This approach was not unseen by the Fire-make mage, he was waiting what seemed to be patiently for them to approach his mostly-unburned territory where he governed at the center of the chaos. Fiore's mages come to hinder the purging of demons! You shall not stop me! said the fire-make mage in an ever-increasing pitch in voice. Deranged... was all Rei could think of. The mage saw some cowering civilians passing nearby, to him they were demons and he struck swiftly with his spell towards them.
Or at least that was his intention- a large hammer of flames he had created and shot towards the innocent people. Mu-chan leaped with unnatural reflexes and right into the line of attack- suddenly a glowing red sphere appeared around Mu-chan in a fifteen foot circumference. the fire hammer hit the sphere and instantly dissipated harmlessly against Mu-chan's anti-magic shield. Rei took the advantage of surprise to counter-attack the fire-make mage. While Mu-chan had moved to defend the civilians, Rei had jumped from Mu-chan's hands and positioned heself outside and behind Mu-chan's sphere. A chill ran through the air as Rei forced herself to tap into her magic within her body, her dark ethernano reacted to her will and a sinister power overcame her. Darkness enveloped her arms quickly and transformed them into that of a demon's. She darted from around Mu-chan's sphere with two baseball sized spheres of darkness in her hands. She rushed forwards and jumped into the air and threw them at the fire-make mage.
The surprise and counter-attack had caught him in a difficult position as he realized his mistake. The two balls of darkness struck his left leg and his right shoulder and exploded into thick darkness, dealing D Rank damage to him. Mu-chan had to remain stationary during his sphere and Rei wouldn't have him move: his presence position was acting as a large shield between the mage and the innocent civilians. These people are innocent, not demons! If you want a demon, Rei is the demon you detest! she yelled in a mocking sickened taunt as she verbally admitted to herself and the others that her magic was demonic.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
They finally arrived at the source of all the destruction. After seeing the cause of all of this, he could barely contain his anger but he knew better. Before Jin could jump into action, the fire mage had other plans. He launched an attack towards some innocent bystanders who were merely trying to run for their lives. Thanks to the swift movements of Mu-chan and Rei-chan, those civilians got away and instead the fire mage took some damage. Finally, Jin had witnessed what had not been seen until now: Rei’s magic. He could sense the presence of a demon right when she had used her take over. ”This is take over, I’ve seen it before. It’s not like the last one though, it is much too sinister. Rei-chan…. I understand now”, all of the questions he had trouble finding an answer to had just been answered.
Maybe he would talk to her if she felt like talking about it. Jin intended to attack the fire mage but Rei’s words stopped him in his track. Jin honestly felt as her big brother and she had just referred to herself as a ‘demon’, he couldn’t let that pass. ”No!” he said almost shouting, Jin didn’t usually shout. Before he could say any more, Kaya decided to explain in his stead: ”Rei-chan is kind and warm and smushy and fluffy and kawaiii.. If she’s a demon…”. Instead of completing her sentence, she jumped off of Jin’s shoulder and transformed using Jin’s maryoku. The cute little chibi tiger grew in size to the large saber tooth tiger. ”…then what am I?” she said in a sad and ominous tone. Jin smiled at her words, he couldn’t have said it better. Having seen the small chibi tiger change into a large one, the fire mage decided to frantically attack Jin.
He launched a large axe like attack made of fire towards Jin, Kaya was in the way but she dodged by jumping over it. The axe headed towards Jin and Kaya jumped towards the fire mage. Jin raised both his hands holding the fire axe in his hands and countering it with cold temperature. It did give off some slight burns but the attack was extinguished. Kaya got close to the mage and swung with her might, not with her paw but rather with her claw. It was a violent attack, meant to cause some serious damage. The mage protected himself with a defensive wall of fire but Kaya’s strength was greater. Her claw pierced through the wall and left large claw marks on the torso of the mage, blood began to gush out from his wounds. Meanwhile, Jin had already summoned two large warriors who had now arrived right next to Kaya. Both had large katanas as they launched an attack from the left and right. The fire mage didn’t even have any room to breathe, he was helpless. The katanas added more piercing damage to Kaya’s attack.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Rei hated her magic and what she had become, but she had to admit that it was useful. Even as she had drawn the attention of the fire-make mage to hr instead of the innocent civilians, Jin was in action. At first, he was surprised but refused to let Rei talk bad about herself. Kaya jumped into motion and slammed into the fire-make mage and passed his defense, Jin followed the attack up by summoning his two summons and had them attack the fire-make mage with katanas. it was sudden brutal and effective. Her explosion of darkness on the fire-make mages body had given Jin and Kaya the advantage they needed to effectively would the big meanie.
Rei was somewhat unaccustomed to her magic, only have used it once at the age of six and learning to repress it over the last two years of confinement- using it so suddenly in the exerting manner made it difficult for Rei to compensate for her lack of battle experience. Unable to follow up with Jin and Kaya's attacks, Mu-chan recognized his little princess's inexperience. While stationary and acting as a bastion for the weak humans, Mu-chan did what he could. Close enough to the bad guy to attack, Mu-chan opened his mouth again and charged the laser within his core. He waited until Jin's attacks had went through and both the summons and Kaya were relatively within a safe margin. The precise timing resulted in the fore-mage faltering backwards into a defensive stance, which Mu-chan had expected. The laser fired from the dragonoid's mouth and instead of firing directly upon the fore-make mage, the laser lead the direction the mage intended to go into defense with. The laser hit the fire-make mage head on and inflciting D rank laser damage to his body.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Mu-chan’s timed attack was another direct hit, the fire mage was indeed tough to still be standing after this much damage. However, he was now in a different world since he couldn’t seem to comprehend what was happening. The coordinated attacks were fearsome and had struck in a very effective manner. After Mu-chan’s attack, Kaya once again leapt into acting using her large canines to strike more piercing damage. The two warriors followed up with yet another attack from two different sides with a follow up strike that landed as well. The blood continued to gush out and the mage fell to his knees, he had already lost the battle. However, Jin would not let him get away with this much. ”I apologize but I can not forgive a mage who harms innocent people and uses magic for evil” he said as he gestured Kaya and the warriors to with draw.
After that, projectiles appeared behind Jin and were launched towards the already defeated mage. The cold based projectiles pierced him even more and then multiple explosions occurred also caused by Jin. He had used two of his spells, one after the other: Piercers & Miniplosions. Then finally to seal the deal, Jin decided to use his signature spell. A light blue colored armor appeared around his right arm, extending it in length. Jin charged forward as his fist smashed against the torso of the fire mage and sent him flying. The mage’s lifeless body crashed into a wall behind him, now half frozen and badly pierced. His injuries were brutal but definitely not fatal. Even if he was enraged, he would never take the life of another.
Having dealt with the fire mage, Jin and Rei handed the individual over to the local law enforcement and helped rid the town of the fire. The two then collected their reward and headed back to the guild island.

Re: Afternoon Freakout(Job/ Jin & Rei)
Mu-chan's attack had been flawless, or so Rei believed. Then again, Mu-chan was starting to grow on Rei, she enjoyed having the robot around more than she initially had expected. Kaya had continued her relentless assault along with the two summoned spirits, after-which, they had retreated a safe distance. Jin was a kind man, but there was a line that should never be crossed: even the most kind people in the world could become monsters when pushed to their limits. The Rising Star, Jin of Black Rose showed off some of his real skill and it made a bit more sense to the little eight year old girl why everyone called Jin an "Ace" of Black Rose. To her, it had just been an empty title that she knew not the significance of. But watching Jin now, weaving his spells into brutal successive attacks to fully defeat the fire-make mage, Rei was beginning to understand the importance of such a rank within Black Rose, within any guild really.
The battle was over and their job was complete, but neither Rei or Jin would wish to leave right away. There was the matter of the fires still and people needed to be organized to ensure that order would return to the town. Mu-chan had done well in protecting the citizens and now his services were put to use in moving some burnt structures to make sure people weren't trapped beneath debris or anything like that. Jin had used his heat magic to reduce fires to controllable rates and finally the Black Rose mages were comfortable with their work to a point where they felt it was okay to return to their guild home.
