Sailing over the clouds which broke against the bow of the Queen Hera, Shuhei stood at the helm of Blue Pegasus's mighty Guild Ship.  With him were two young mages, Khalisha Unico and Julia Neviccare.  Both of whom were preparing for a trial to test their skills, the details of which Shuhei had not revealed to them yet.  With a spin of the wheel, the bow of the ship dipped down through the clouds and was forced in to a nose dive.  The helm continued to spin rapidly until finally Shuhei caught it and hauled it back the other direction  causing the ship to turn sharply upward as it traveled arcing just before they crashed in to the tall trees of the Spooky Forest, the tops of some of the taller trees barely scraping the bottom of the hull.  Hopefully he hadn't startled the two young girls too much with his flying, such maneuvers were fairly regular when flying with Shuhei at the helm, sometimes he wasn't even aware of the way he was flying.  They continued to fly over the forest for several minutes until Shuhei brought the ship to a complete stop over a fairly large clearing and Anchors at both ends of the ship fell.

"We're here!" Shuhei shouted and turned to face the two girls, who's hair would be doing some crazy stuff after the nose dive.  Shuhei chuckled a little bit as he crossed his arms.  "Shall we?" Shuhei's body flashed white light and he vanished, reappearing on the ground below.  Assuming the two young girls were able to follow him from to the ground, which was roughly fifty feet from the rail of the ship,  He would begin to walk towards the tree line, humming a jingle he heard recently at the market in Clover.  Upon reaching the tree line, he waited and peered in to the trees.  For about three minutes he waited in silence until a light breeze brushed by him.  Finally he turned to face the two Mages behind him.  "Well then, are you both ready?"

Post by Julia Neviccare 20th January 2014, 5:10 am

"Waow! Queen Hera so big!" Julia would say in her adorable tiny yet thick Iceberg accent, having been running around on board for the duration of the trip. They were flying over the spooky forest... which brought back some pretty sour memories. Needless to say, the entire trip had been hell for anyone who was tall enough to fall overboard, it was like Shuhei hadn't even read the manual on piloting, or cared about the safety of the two poor D-Rank mages on board. Well, if they would die from something as simple as a rough trip, they weren't very good mages, were they? Julia's dark state of mind was at ease from the last time they went here. That last bit of the trip was pretty intense, as the nosedive could have flung her off the ship easily. Julia would kneel down and grab a hold of the ship by a grate near the side. "Master! Pull up!" Her eyes were filled with fear for a brief moment, before the ship would tip back up almost equally as violently, and Julia would be forced to the ground.

Well that was fun and all, but she would lay there now, trying to adjust her hair back downwards. She would walk over to the edge of the ship and peer over as they would be sailing practically on top of the tree tops. Then the anchors would drop, and Shuhei would verify that they were where they needed to go. Julia would look around for the staircase or ladder down, before watching Shuhei blip down to the ground as light particles. Julia would have this astounded look on her face, half like that was the coolest thing she'd ever seen, the other half because of how scary powerful Fiore's mages had become. Sure Iceberg had a few this badass itself, but still, they were in more abundance here. Julia had heard tales of the feats of others in the Blue Pegasus guild, and they all sounded scary badass. Julia would finish raking her hair back down and look at Khalisha, "Alright, Khalisha-chan. We fall to ground like Master Shuhei." She would then hoist herself up and swung her leg around, free falling in a side-saddle sitting position as that's how her legs fell into place. "It's Snow Cloud!" The air around her would quickly form into a decently sized cloud of fluffy snow, which would break her falling speed mid-fall, and allow her to float down to the ground, where she would nod and follow Shuhei to the edge of the forest.

Julia would wait in silence and wonder for a good amount of time about two minutes of just staring in wonder as Shuhei would stand and stare at the forest. Julia would whisper to Khalisha, "Master Shuhei pretty." Another class example of Julia pointing out the obvious, as the light would fall down at just the right angle to make Shuhei look like some kind of god, which Julia had heard he'd been officially declared by the Magic Council recently. Julia would be drooling a little bit as Shuhei would turn around and she would clean up her act within an instant. When Shuhei asked if they were ready, Julia would look over at Khalisha and smile, before looking back to Shuhei and saying with firm confidence, "Yes."

Khalisha looked down at her little partner, Julia, and smiled warmly. She couldn't help but to giggle at Julia's adorable reaction to the size of the Queen Hera, and so far was enjoying the flight. That was, until Shuhei had decided it was time to go into a full-on nose dive through the clouds. She actually almost fell over the side, but managed to catch the rail before getting very far. She was screaming the entire way down, and when the ship leveled out again she took a moment to drag herself back onto the ship's deck. She lay there, eyes bulging and hair all messed up (though it had several clips in in, and usually looked messy anyway so there was hardly a difference), looking up at Shuhei. "Sorry, but are you crazy?!" She didn't bother waiting for an answer, shaking her head to clear it and standing up quickly. She blinked a few times, looking down at the forest as her guildmaster sailed her and Julia over the treetops. She stood, pondering the time they had spent in the forest before, and couldn't help but shiver a bit. "Glad that's over.."

Khalisha took a deep breathe, combed her fingers through the parts of her hair that didn't have clips in them, attempting to straighten it somewhat back to it's usual messiness, because apparently this level of messy just wasn't acceptable to her. As the anchors of the ship dropped and the Queen Hera came to a standstill in a large clearing, Khalisha smiled and patted her little partner on the top of the head. She was in a fairly good mood today, all things considered (the insane fall and being back where she had been afraid for her life for nearly a full day). "Huh? Oh, alright Jules~" Khalisha said as Julia spoke, watching the little girl fall to the ground. She didn't trust herself to land on Julia's snow cloud, so she looked through her deck of cards with relative interest, humming a bit as she did so. She gasped as she found the correct card, smiling widely and giggling. "Aha! There it is!~" Khalisha pulled out her 'Travel' card, holding it up and twirling it across her fingers. After a second or two, she simply appeared on the ground of the clearing and stuffed the card back into the deck. She waited for Julia to finish floating down next to her, and simply smiled at her, taking her by the hand as she walked alongside Julia after Shuhei.

She stood, waiting and watching curiously as Shuhei peered into the trees, trying to figure out what he was looking for. Then Julia popped into her head by saying Shuhei was 'pretty', which forced a giggle out of Khalisha yet again. She was giggling alot today, and she blamed it mostly on Julia. "Yes, sweety, he's very pretty! You're so silly sometimes, you know?" She said, before suddenly freezing up and standing at attention, stifling her giggles immediately, coming to her senses at the same time as Julia cleaned up her act. There was a moment where Khalisha and Julia looked at each other, smiling, and Khalisha knew they could do this. "We're ready, sir. Bring it on!" Khalisha cheered, a determined look in her eye as she looked at Shuhei again.

Shuhei smiled upon seeing the two young mages confidence. They'd been through a fair bit to get to this point and there seemed to be no doubt in their hearts that they were ready. They also thought he was pretty, which made the Dragon Slayer chuckle a little bit. "Very well, follow me." He said as he turned again and lead the mages in to the forest. 'Within these woods is a very rare breed of Deer, born from the air." The density of the forest was growing to the point where Shuhei had to move tree branches out of the way from him to continue forward. "It is called the Aphaean Hind, and it's invisible." As they delved deeper in to the forest the light became dim and only a few small rays of sunlight managed to penetrate the shroud of leaves and branches. "Your job, is to catch the Aphaean Hind and bring it back to me at the ship. Unharmed of course, it may very well be the last of its kind so if you harm it in any way not only will you fail the mission but there may be a severe punishment afterwards." Finally he stopped and turned to face the two young wizards. "The hind is faster and a lot smarter than you may think." A breeze brushed passed the three and a low howling ensued. "The forest will make you believe in things that aren't really there and the Hind will use this to its advantage. Be weary and good luck!" With that, Shuhei vanished once more in a flash of white light, which would leave the two mages blinded for a moment, having adjusted to the darkness of the forest. Upon completion of their mission, they'd find Shuhei waiting for them in front of the Queen Hera.

    Mission Parameters:
    • Track the Aphaean Hind and capture it.
    • Do not harm the Hind in any way...
    • Once captured, you'll have to bring it back to Shuhei. Keep in mind the average deer can weigh over a hundred pounds and you're in the middle of the spooky forest.
    • Don't get lost! Or do...
    • You'll be graded based on your writing skills and imagination and overall by how much I enjoyed it.

    Good luck!

Julia would lazily walk behind Shuhei, walking ever so slowly, as she would try to listen to him. She would quickly find that her slow pace would never keep up, so she would put some pep into her step. She would notice the forest getting darker, and get a bit less cheery as she would go along, down until she would have a look on her face that was completely blank. As she walked along the instructions were more clearly given to her and Khalisha. Julia would toy around with a snowball she made, and then would nod as Shuhei would flash away. Her eyes would burn a bit from the flash of light in the darkness, but she would merely rub them a little bit. Julia would recall all of the details, and found the challenge quite acceptable, however she would find a little qualm about it. "Hey Khalisha, how one see invisible?" she would ask her partner. With this she would wait for a response, and begin looking around for stuff. Maybe a signal pertaining to the whereabouts of the Aphaean Hind. Of course this much would be in vain, Julia just knew it. Looking for something that was invisible was completely pointless without some kind of tracking point.

Suddenly the brush to her left would rustle. Julia's head snapped to the left to see nothing there, and she would grin as she would leap over into the bushes and managed to actually find something. As she would begin to hold onto it, she would notice the huge struggle that she was undergoing with it. "Shorter than I imagined!" she would declare. From the bushes she would burst out holding a Komodo Dragon in a sleeper hold, trying to wrestle it to the ground blindly. It would contort around and try to break free of her grip but she was especially not letting go at this point, this was a freaking Komodo Dragon! Julia would tighten the grip to he most fierce she could manage, and look up at Khalisha, "Help please? Komodo Dragon very venomous!"

Post by Cards 21st January 2014, 8:41 am

Khalisha, walking along next to Julia, listened closely to the instructions that were being given to her and Julia by Shuhei, her ears tilting towards the man in order to catch the sound of his voice more cleanly. She didn't like the forest either, and she noticed it getting darker, but the darkness was hardly a thing for her due to her cat-like eyes. She was worried about trying to find an invisible dear though, it seemed impossible to catch something you couldn't see, but the more she thought about it the more she realized how possible it really would be. It would be just like trying to catch any animal that you couldn't see. You had to bait it and trap it. Not hurting the thing was going to be hard though, that was for sure. In the middle of her thought process, Khalisha yelped from the sudden burst of light as Shuhei vanished yet again. "Well, Julia... We could try and sprinkle something on it, and use that as a way to know where it is... But for the most part, girly, you don't. That's the point, I assume.." Khalisha said in response to Julia's questioning of how one could see the invisible. As she explained this, Khalisha (rather than looking) closed her eyes and began listening closely to the sounds of the forest, holding her breathe in an attempt to try and hear her prey. Hunting came naturally to her, but that didn't mean she was a pro at it, and she really had no idea what she was doing, it just felt right to focus on one sense when the other wouldn't help. From what Shuhei had said, Khalisha had a feeling that this was going to be alot trickier than just catching an invisible deer though. She'd have to be careful.

As she heard a rustling in the brush nearby, Khalisha's ears snapped to point in that direction, her head turning with them. She sniffed at the air and listened closely, about to say something about the deer not being in the brush, but before she could discern that much for certain Julia had already leaped into the air, soaring towards the bushes. She heard a struggle and let out a soft sigh. "Julia! You can't just go tackling anything that moves, if you do that you'll scare off the hind and we'll never find it!" She said, hushing her voice a bit throughout her statement so as to not make so much noise. She was trying to be sneaky. As she saw what Julia was holding, though, her hair almost stood up and she subconsciously let out a hiss, jumping back a bit. "Julia! See what you did?!" She said, quickly rushing forward and shuffling through her deck, trying to find the right card. As she found it; a card that would produce meat for the large lizard; a bird flew in and snatched it from her hands before she could use it.

Khalisha let out a frustrated groan as the bird soared off, cawing back at her as if it was laughing at her, and couldn't help but curse lightly under her breathe. She took a deep breathe, now, and regained her calm. She looked through her deck once more and pulled out another two cards, 'sword' and 'paralyze', using them both quickly in order to create a sword of paralytic energy. Somehow managing to stay calm, she stepped to Julia's side and aimed carefully, before quickly stabbing the komodo dragon and letting out a soft sigh as it stiffened up, fully paralyzed. It was harmed in no way, of course, and the sword faded away as soon as she stabbed the thing, the energy going into the Komodo to keep it paralyzed. "Okay, Jules, you can put him down now. Just don't do that again, okay?"

Post by Julia Neviccare 21st January 2014, 1:03 pm

Julia would watch Khalisha hurriedly shuffle through the cards she had in her hand as she would try and choke out the komodo dragon, teeth gritting, yet she was somehow still absolutely adorable while doing this. As Khalisha pulled out the meat with haste, Julia would restrain a little bit. However, a bird would sweep down and snatch the meat, "What? Why? How even?" Julia was confused, and astounded at the same time. She would slam her knee into the komodo dragon's back to harm it, and keep it restrained while Khalisha would seem to passively just accept what had happened and move on to finding a new card or set of cards to use.

Julia managed to restrain the lizard for a little bit longer, but would watch as Khalisha stacked a pair of cards and pulled out a yellow sword. Julia would yelp a little bit at the sword was swung, and the Komodo Dragon slumped over. "Ah... Did you k-k... wait..." Julia would stammer as she would get off the Komodo Dragon, which was still breathing. She sighed with relief for a moment and would quickly begin to run off from it. "Come on Khalisha, let's get away from this thing before it gets up," she would say. Julia would run deeper into the woods for a few dozen meters... and wind up not being able to see the Komodo Dragon anymore. She would kneel down, looking at her ankle, "Ugh... branch from shrubs scuffed me." A bit of a scratch was there, nothing disabling, but that would need a little bit of disinfectant when they got back. Julia would blink and then remember that it was winter time. She looked up, "It has not snowed here yet..." The woods were thick, yet it was winter in this deciduous forest.

Julia would stand back up and look around, "We have been tricked." With that a loud giggle would erupt throughout the forest, and like some kind of wave, all the trees would suddenly be cleared of leaves, with snow all around the ground, though thin. Some of the snow would make a patch on her ankle... a single bird flying around overhead, but otherwise this forest was probably more spooky than before. Totally deceased... "Ghosts should leave us alone now," she would claim with a dull tone, careful and quiet.

Khalisha nodded, knowing that the Komodo wouldn't stay paralyzed for very long, as Julia suggested they run. She stayed close behind Julia as they ran off into the woods, still keeping her ears open for any sort of sounds. She didn't hear anything, except for the usual sounds of the forest, and unfortunately she found it rather impossible to tell if any of them was some form of deer. When Julia stopped and crouched down, favoring a small scratch that she had sustained in the bushes, Khalisha crouched down along with her to see if it was anything serious. It wasn't, but as soon as Julia pointed out that it had not yet snowed, Khalisha stood up again and looked around at all the leaves in the forest. It didn't even look like it was autumn yet, and she hadn't even questioned it.

As the leaves faded away in a snap, leaving only the sight of a small bird fluttering around in the air, Khalisha gripped her shoulders and rubbed them softly, suddenly feeling much more cold than before. The temperature wasn't something she couldn't handle, but it was definitely a shock to feel after the pleasant warmth that had just previously filled the forest. "Dammit.. It's like our... other... mission, all over again. Wait, you don't think..?" Khalisha began, looking around frantically for the familiar tall dark fellow that had tormented her and Julia for so long last time they were here. She shook her head and took a deep breathe, realizing there was nothing there, before looking up again.

"Hold on a second, is that-?" Khalisha saw her 'meat' card in the bird's beak and gasped, her eyebrows furrowing a bit in anger, "It is! That's the bird that stole my card! H-hey, hey you up there! Get down here and give that back right now!" Khalisha said, and as she finished speaking she actually stumbled back a bit in surprise. The reason for her shock was that the bird actually dove down and landed on a branch nearby, head cocked and staring at Khalisha. As she watched, the bird lifted a wing and tucked the card into it, before looking back up at Khalisha, glancing at Julia even as it did so. "I don't want to. I like this card, and I shall keep it. Sorry about that, cat. Gotta go, snow." It said, looking at Khalisha as it said 'cat' and at Julia as it said 'snow'. Then, it simply flew off directly away from where Khalisha and Julia had their little spat with the monitor lizard. Without even hesitating, Khalisha bolted off after the bird, figuring Julia could keep up with her cat-like speed on her snow cloud. "Hey, get back here! Hold on, I need to ask you something, please!" Khalisha said, hoping the bird would be able to give her tips on how to find the hind.

Post by Julia Neviccare 22nd January 2014, 8:06 am

Julia would find herself relatively unfazed by the sudden shit of weather, asides a slight sigh of relief. Julia was practically made out of snow and found herself accustomed to winter. Late Spring weather was not her cup of tea, you see. As Khalisha would suddenly stumble back a bit Julia would look up at her face, having not heard her previous statement as it seemed irrelevant, then followed her rather focused stare to see a bird. It had just begun talking all of a sudden, holding one of Card's cards in its beak just a moment ago. Julia would clasp her hands and would cheer a bit, "Waow! A talking bird!" She would quickly clamp her hands over her mouth, knowing she was too loud.

Suddenly the bird would take off and immediately after, Khalisha did. Julia would look around, "Where could Snow Cloud be?" Khalisha was almost out of sight as the Snow Cloud would finally arrive, and Julia would hop on, and take off at an astonishing 35 mph. Some of the best mobility magic had to offer too. Julia would watch the tree line, and would hurriedly slide around the corner seeing the bird's height ascending and Khalisha's hopes fading slightly. Julia would grip a bit on the snow cloud as she would ascend to be of height, and she would move straight ahead, beating the bird's speed by a fair sum, allowing her to zip around it with ease. "Stop, Khalisha-chan want talk with you!" she would request a bit loud, as the bird would slam right into her, ruining his mobility, toppling Julia off her cloud, and sending them into freefall. The bird wasn't catching enough wind to fly up and Julia was a bit dazed, her eyes doing that comical little spiral shape that represented that she was pretty much helpless in this scenario.

Khalisha knew that the snow cloud was fast, but she was shocked at how fast it actually was. As Julia went zipping past her and up towards the bird, Khalisha let out a short yelp and immediately started looking through her cards again as Julia flew up in front of the bird. She'd acted so quickly knowing that the bird wouldn't have time to stop, and with it's size and speed and Julia's size, it would surely topple her off of her cloud, so she needed to do something yesterday. She found her 'bridge' card, and quickly pulled it out along with 'water', before putting them both in her mouth and climbing a tree nearby. From there, she jumped to another branch nearby that she thought would provide stable enough footing, and immediately combined the two cards, forming a large bridge out of water that would float in mid-air, suspended magically for the two to fall safely into. Unfortunately for Khalisha, as she landed on the branch she had chosen she quickly discovered that it was weaker than she had expected, and it immediately snapped under her weight. The bridge was well enough in tact, but she had fallen a good 20 feet to the ground below.

Winded and in pain from her fall, Khalisha shook herself off and tried to stand up. Nothing was broken when she checked, which was good news, but she would be bruised to hell and quite sore later. She pulled her 'fly' card out of her deck now and cast it on herself, coughing again as she flew up into the air lazily and tried to shake her head to clear it, still dazed from her little tumble. Then she realized that the bird, a creature who generally avoided falling into water for damn good reasons, had just fallen into her water. A tiny splashing sound followed by a slightly larger one was what gave this away. At first she was relieved that she had gotten the bridge up in time to help Julia, but then she snapped back into panic mode. She'd wanted to save the bird, but now it could die from the cold, and wouldn't be able to fly when she got it out of the water. Feeling a bit bad about the whole situation, Khalisha forced herself to ignore the damage she'd sustained from the fall and dove into the water, swimming through it and plucking up the bird and her little Julia and dragging them both to the surface. "My god! *Gasp* Are you two okay?" She asked, a motherly panic in her voice as she spoke. Thankfully the bird took kindly to her efforts to help it, and she could almost swear it smiled at her with a little twinkle in it's eye. "Thanks for that, cat." It said, which made Khalisha roll her eyes and start to laugh, the bird managing to calm her down a bit with it's annoying little phrase. Khalisha looked to Julia now, still very concerned about the little albino girl.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 22nd January 2014, 1:46 pm

Julia would remain fairly dazed as she would fall into the water bridge, and then look around from underwater. She would see the bird that knocked her over flailing around in the water, unable to get anymore lift due to wet wings or something. Khalisha would pull he out of the water along with said bird before she could look around any further, and she would immediately realize how other people must feel cold normally. She would shiver tremendously, being unable to just dry off or turn into snow bit by bit. Julia would look at the bird, a bit self-centered-ly spoke, "Did not stop fast enough."

As some icicles would form from her nostrils quite quickly, she would exhale a cloud of frosty air. Julia would watch her snow cloud would dissipate in the sky, turning into some snow which sprinkled gently over the scene. She would huff a bit, not getting as much use out of the cloud as she'd hoped. The bird seemed to be more relieved than Julia was, as she was unable to filter the cold through herself, and the bird probably understood cold more than she did anyways. She would speak up a bit more, "Sorry for fall, Khalisha. I forgot timing." With that she would shiver one last huge amount before the water on her person would complete freeze, sandwiched between her cold and the outside cold. A magic circle would form over her chest and the ice would turn into power snow, which fell to the ground. Julia would sigh with relief now that the cold sensation was gone for her. However she found herself worried. "We should find warmth or start campfire," she would say, worried about the bird, who could freeze any minute now. Julia may have been used to sub zero weather, but the bird was much less likely to be.

Post by Cards 23rd January 2014, 9:43 am

Khalisha couldn't help but chuckle a little harder at Julia's spiteful comment aimed at the bird. It was pretty cute, she had to admit, but she also had to stop laughing soon or else she might inhale some water on accident, so she managed to calm herself down. Khalisha held the bird tightly against her chest, trying to keep it warm as she looked around, just barely catching Julia's little apology. "Julia... I'm not mad at you because you fell, I'm worried about you because of it. I just panicked a little, that's all." Khalisha said, dragging the bird and little Julia out of the water and gracefully falling to the ground, this time landing properly and taking no damage from it. On the ground, Julia's outer shell of ice seemed to turn into snow and simply fall to the ground, leaving her mostly dry, which -- even though Khalisha knew her little friend very well -- still came at a bit of a surprise to her.

"Good idea, Jules.. I'll go find some firewood with our new little friend here, and you set up a snow hut or something... Like an igloo, if you don't mind that is." Khalisha said, favoring Julia with a soft smile before heading off into the forest. After an hour of searching and very little chat with the bird, Khalisha came back with a large pile of sticks under her arm, gasping as if she had just been running. "Sorry about the wait, Julia... I got lost, and *cough* ran into that komodo again, had to run. Don't wanna get poisoned out here." She said, but even as she spoke she realized how stupid she was being. She set the bird down and slapped herself on the forehead, "Ugh! Lizards are cold blooded! There's no way one would really be out here right now!" After a moment of being bad at herself, Khalisha picked the bird up again and started laying the sticks down in a little pile, clearing snow from the area first so they would have a better shot at burning. As she did so, she checked to see what kind of shelter Julia whipped up, and spoke to the bird as well. "Okay, birdy, you can have the damn card... But I need your help, and I kinda think you owe me more than a little at this point, so if you would please listen to my request..." Khalisha shook her head to clear it for a moment, before continuing, "If you'd listen, I need help finding the Aphaen hind... Do you know how we can find it? I promise you, we wish it absolutely no harm, we just need to bring it to our master to pass our test."

Khalisha said, feeling a bit dizzy as she spoke. With that, the bird looked at Julia, then Khalisha, then Julia again. "Then I'll first have you answer my questions, thanks. For the little snow princess; Bury deep, Pile on stones, My mind will always, Dig up them bones." The bird said with a glint in it's eye and a caw that sounded quite like a laugh once more, before going deathly silent and snapping it's eyes towards Khalisha. "For the motherly cat! Round she is, yet flat as a board! Altar of the Lupine Lords! Jewel on black velvet, pearl of the sea.... Unchanged, but e'er changing! Eternally!~" It chanted out, leaving Khalisha confused as she looked around, as if trying to draw inspiration for an answer from her surroundings. There was nothing, just a small lake off to the side and a slowly darkening sky overhead, through the treetops. Thinking hard on her riddle, she looked to Julia to see if she was doing any better.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 23rd January 2014, 11:29 am

Julia would nod and begin channeling he magic a little bit, to get a feel for the environmental snow. "Alright then... Igloo... or snow hut..." she would say. After a minute or so of thinking, she would grin. Her talents were but to use as she would begin crafting a snow hut. After about an hour, when Khalisha would arrive, Julia had finished crafting a very elegant one story home crafted from snow. "Teehee. We could live here with a little bit of heating," she would say. With that, though Khalisha had returned and began setting up a campfire in a small clearing. After cursing herself for falling for an illusion again.

"Spirits are clever," she would say with a dull tone, "I glad you make it back okay." It wouldn't be much longer that Julia would hear from the bird again. This bird was a mysterious bird indeed, as it would agree to answer their questions, if they first answered its. Julia would hear 'Snow' be said, and she would look at the Bird, listening to its riddle carefully. "Hmm..." she would think with a hum. The riddle was a tricky one. Julia sat down next to her house and would begin thinking deeply upon it. It would be a few more minutes before she would just start to laze off, remembering stuff from her childhood. She would cringe a bit, as she would seem to remember something bad, the majority of her childhood that would be.

With that she would try and remember the riddle. "Bury deep, Pile on stones, My mind will always, Dig up them bones." It suddenly linked up to her, she would smile, just in time for Khalisha to look over at her, "I have answer." She would sit by the bird and speak up now, "I have buried them deep, underneath stones I build to keep under. Yet my mind always brings them back up. These are memories." Julia giggled a bit and would look to see if she had gotten it right.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Cards 23rd January 2014, 3:02 pm

Delighted at the sight of the small house that Julia had managed to craft from snow, Khalisha stopped building up her fire just long enough to clap for her creation, showing how impressed she was by it. Then, the bird gave it's riddles, and as Khalisha stared at the environment in confusion she heard Julia state that she had found an answer. Memories, huh? Well, she's smart... If only I could focus more.. Khalisha thought to herself. She had trouble with riddles, not because she wasn't smart enough to figure them out, but because she had trouble focusing on them. Still, she had to try, so she began pacing around the area, eventually walking right up to the water and staring down into it. The moon was rising into the sky now, and she immediately got the answer as she watched the beautiful disk fly across the black, velvety sky. "Hah! I got it, too! It's the moon you're speaking of, bird! Now tell us how to find the hind!"

Khalisha seemed mighty proud of herself as she spoke, walking back over to the bird and finishing her little setup for the fire. She didn't want the fire inside the house, because she was afraid that it would melt the hole thing down. She pulled her 'fire' card out of the deck and shot a small bolt of flame into the bottom of the firewood that she'd set up, lighting it immediately and within a few moments it was a roaring, warm flame licking away at the night air. "You're right, you're right! The child is bright! But I have two more for you this night!" The bird said, and immediately Khalisha slapped it on the top of the head, both out of anger at it's decision to keep them guessing at riddles, and because it was stupidly trying to rhyme for some reason. "Dang it, bird! That wasn't our deal, okay? Please, just help us out here!" She said, showing off her prodigious chest as she spoke, as if flirting with the bird would help.

As if completely ignoring Khalisha, the bird (whose name was Charles, but nobody seemed to care) simply went on with asking it's riddles. "Here's twice, ICE!" The bird said, secretly trying to give the little snow mage a hint, "Two girls ate dinner together. They both ordered ice tea. One girl drank them very fast and drank five of them in the time it took the other to drink one. The girl who drank one died while the other survived. All of the drinks were poisoned. Why did the one who drank MORE ice tea survive, when the other did not?" The bird asked, tilting it's head at Julia and seeming to laugh again. "Now, for the cat!" The bird began, before being cut off by Khalisha, "Damn it, birdy! This wasn't our deal!" But again, the cat girl was ignored, and the bird hopped up next to the fire to warm itself and dry it's feathers. "First think of a person who lives in disguise, who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies. Next tell me what is always the last thing to mend, the middle of middle the end of the end? And finally give me a sound often heard during the search of a hard-to-find word. Now string them together and answer me this, which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?" These riddles seemed easier than before, because Khalisha was already well on her way to figuring both of them out, but at the same time they seemed, in a way, harder, because she kept getting stuck or doubting her answers, since so much rode on them. Thankfully she only had to answer for one of them, which was good news, but nonetheless, it was troubling. As she thought, Khalisha sat at the fire and started to warm her hands, doing her best to focus as she muttered to herself.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 23rd January 2014, 3:53 pm

Julia had a grin on her face as she was correct, which made her clap a little bit. Khalisha would soon find her answer as well, and Julia would have so much joy, she was about to jump. Suddenly it all exploded in her face as the bird would go on to say that she and Khalisha had yet another riddle. "Mean bird. You say we must answer your... questions... ugh!" she would have realized that she was not being played or anything, this bird could ask them questions forever if it wanted to and it wasn't breaking any rules.

The word ice was brought up, so Julia would have to pay attention now, as it was her turn again. It was a question about a murder, a riddle nonetheless. Julia was the most savvy person on this kind of stuff, her mother being a very dark mage would would often tell her little such stories like this one. "Two girls ate dinner together. They both ordered ice tea. One girl drank them very fast and drank five of them in the time it took the other to drink one. The girl who drank one died while the other survived. All of the drinks were poisoned. Why did the one who drank MORE ice tea survive, when the other did not?" the riddle was pretty difficult to people who didn't ponder this kind of thing from day to day for the first 8 years of their life.

Julia would immediately answer, before the bird even had time to actually move on to its next riddle, in the middle of his cawing laughter, "The poison was in the ice... Oh, and the hint wasn't necessary." She would scoop up a bit of snow from the ground and began to munch on it like a snack, a strange look of satisfaction overflowing on her face. "Snow is good~" she would declare.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Cards 23rd January 2014, 4:27 pm

The bird was in the middle of laughing about it's question, sure that a mere child would never get it, when suddenly it was interrupted by that same 'mere' child giving an answer. Not only that, the correct answer. It immediately stopped and shot a glare her way, but went on to speak it's riddle for Khalisha, no less. Once more, Khalisha was stumped for a good amount of time, before suddenly jumping up and giggling brightly. "I figured out your riddle again, silly bird! The answer is a spider! Spy-d-er!" Khalisha exclaimed, proud of herself once more. The bird immediately took flight and started cawing and flying around gaily, as if overjoyed by the twosome's success. As it flew around, it seemed to be laughing again, and suddenly there was a gust of wind again, like when Shuhei was giving Khalisha and Julia details on their mission. The bird, now flying in place, spoke again, "You're right, you're right, you're always right! Impressive is the young mind's might!"

Khalisha had the urge to hit the bird again, but she held it back and just laughed this time, actually happy that it wasn't going to try and bombard her and Julia with another set of riddles. Based on what the bird had said, though, either it was only complimenting Julia or it was much older than what seemed possible for a bird. Though, the two wizards WERE looking for an invisible deer, so anything goes in the end. "And since you're right, to your delight, you'll find your hind at dawn's first light!" The bird then flew away, off into the woods once more. Khalisha didn't bother chasing it, believing that the talking avian would be a 'bird of it's word', since that rhymed and it seemed to adore corny rhymes.

With a sigh, Khalisha finally relaxed, warming herself by the fire and smiling at Julia. "So, what do you think? Should we stay up all night and go find something to eat, or go to bed right now and try to wake up early for our prize?" She asked, before pulling out a few cards with names of board games on them (although the names would be un-readable to Julia, as they were in Draconic), and raising an eyebrow. "These cards will create board games for us, if you'd like to play a bit, either way. If we stay up all night we can hunt some food and cook it, as well as play, but if you'd rather sleep right now we can just play a quick game!~" Khalisha was happy, which was putting her in a playful mood, and she just knew that Julia would appreciate a good game, since all children did.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 23rd January 2014, 6:59 pm

Julia would giggle as Khalisha would finally get her riddle right after a few more minutes of thinking. It was astounding the amount of patience that the bird would have, most birds she'd heard of generally lacked the kind of patience that said bird had. Finally the information was divulged, and Julia didn't quite catch it very well, "What? Another riddle? Boring..." As the bird would fly off she would reach her hand out to ask it to wait at the exact same time as realizing what the rhyme it had given them meant. "Oh wait, now I get it. Teehee," she would giggle.

Khalisha would suddenly offer some words of suggestion pertaining to what they could do. There were two options, staying up all night, and getting to sleep. Julia would think about this. Board games were involved, according to Khalisha's translation of the cards, and Julia would have to think just a little bit harder. Her eyes would brighten up at the sight of the game cards in fact, she didn't really get to try them all out. The wonders of the outside world were phenomenal and infinite, she was like a kid in a candy store, all the time with cool stuff like this. Julia would grin a bit, "Well I never stay up all night. Maybe I give it good try this time?" It was an irresponsible decision, but a girl like Julia would always want to do some cool things like this.

Needless to say, though, Julia is still just a little girl. She would pass out after the second play of the first game she picked out, which happened to be chess. The first game was spent learning the ropes, but Julia would have put too much thought into it all and passed out from youthful exhaustion. It was a full day's work after all. As a side note, Julia's Snow Hut was shockingly comfortable once you got past the fact that it was mostly cold stuff. The snow mattresses were fluffy yet firm, the pillows were primarily fluffy, the bed frames were hard as brick. She even had a fire place, made of snow. Yeah, that's right, Julia managed to figure out how to maintain a fireplace, without it melting. The trick was actually a pit tunnel under the fireplace where the smoke and ash would go down into with a small hole outside the hut where the smoke would exit. Once the hut was warm enough, she would cap off the top of the fireplace and the hole outside, make sure the door was shut, and put out the fire. Give it an hour and Julia can figure out how to do just about anything with enough snow.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Cards 24th January 2014, 8:17 am

Khalisha adored the little sparkle in Julia's eyes when she saw the game cards, and nodded in agreement at the idea of the little girl trying to stay up all night. She knew, or at least suspected, that the girl wouldn't make it all night, but she wanted to let her try anyway, because that was the 'cool mom' thing to do, and she was starting to think of herself as the girl's mother. The chess games had actually been fairly intense, even though Julia was still just learning, because the little girl was actually quite intelligent. In the end though, the score for who won was tied, Julia having lost the first but won the second game. Once the girl passed out, though, Khalisha smiled and put away her game and her cards, quickly snuffing out the fire before picking Julia up and carrying her inside. She found a bed to lay the girl down in, then found one for herself, slowly drifting off into sleep.

-In The Morning, Just Before The Sun Comes Up-

Khalisha was happily sleeping in her freezing cold bed, having managed to conjure up a blanket for her to protect herself against the cold, when she woke up with a snap and jumped up into the air so high that she almost hit her head on the ceiling. The cause of this; A single komodo dragon hissing at her, standing right next to her bed. When she came down again it snapped at her and she barely managed to tumble out of the way of the bite. She let out a bit of a shriek at the sight of the thing, and once she was out of the way she darted towards Julia and shook her awake. "Julia! Wake up! The lizard's back!" She shouted hurriedly, still not realizing that the komodo dragon was probably an illusion (it just seemed so real). On top of that, as she began to look around, there were actually many more komodo dragons sauntering into the room, as if they were some sort of cheesy 70's gang minus the switchblades and the leather (though I suppose you could count their skin as the leather). "Aaand he has friends. Crap!" Not waiting for Julia to wake up, which she probably did very quickly, Khalisha picked the girl up and immediately dove out of the window of their room, falling to the ground and tumbling again to absorb most of the fall damage.

Looking up, now, from the ground, she actually saw what looked like someone's boot. It was massive and worn out, like they'd seen much more walking than Khalisha would care to do any time soon. As she looked up further, standing at the same time, she saw that it was a large (about 7' tall) burly man holding an equally large staff, which was so ornate that it was hard to believe it belonged to the same person as the boots. It was beautifully white with swirls of purple spiraling all the way up, reaching up to a huge crystal ball set in the top. The ball had the image of a komodo dragon in it, and before Khalisha had any time to process what was going on, the burly man roared and twirled his staff around, smacking it into Khalisha's side and sending her sprawling to the left. She let go of Julia mid-flight, and did her best to land on her feet but wound up on her butt instead, looking through her cards again nonetheless. "Okay, big guy! You wanna play?" She said, standing up and drawing out her 'fire' card and her 'sword' card. With a flash, the two became one, as all those times before, and a sword of flames appeared in her hand. Charging in, she swung at the burly guy, but despite the solid hit she got in he seemed fairly un-phased, simply grunting and waving his staff in the air. As he did so, another Komodo appeared in the clearing, hissing loudly at Khalisha. "Okay... That's a bit disheartening, but we're still gonna take you down!" The flaming sword she had generated fizzled out now, as it was more of a one-shot sort of deal, leaving her unarmed again.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 24th January 2014, 10:56 am

Julia would awake to the sensation of being scooped up into the arms of Khalisha and the smell of complete distress, and lizards. Her eyes would barely open up a bit as she felt herself weightlessly suspended in the air, and gravity doing its work, as they would hit the ground. Julia would cringe a bit, not feeling too uneasy, but suddenly Khalisha was smacked aside, and Julia felt her weight hit the ground. Julia would now have her face in the snow, just as she would have a few moments ago. "Khalisha?" Julia would say, somewhat relaxed still, as she would struggle to force herself to her feet, adrenaline not coursing through her veins at enough of a rate to get her up and moving. A Komodo dragon snapped at her face, and she would tiredly fall back onto her rear end. "Oh... Komodo dragons again... and big man," she would say, too tired to get pumped. Julia was the kind of girl who enjoyed a solid 10 hours of sleep, though this happened at around 8, which was sufficient, but Julia would need to scramble to wake up.

Suddenly Khalisha had a sword of fire in her hand and swung it to slash the man, dealing pretty much no damage at all to the man, in comparison to what she would normally pull off against foes. Julia would get a bit of a glint in her eye as Khalisha declared that Cat and Mouse would emerge victorious from the situation. The young snow mage would force herself back up to a stand, and would speak up, "Right. We win, so go home!" Julia was a bit of a philistine in this kind of situation, unaware that this man was a hermit who had taken a liking to these woods. Even if she did, she wouldn't be able to understand him. Hermits made no sense to her. Julia would raise her hand up a bit, as the snow would raise to her whim, and she would thrust her hand forward as she would attempt to punch the man, while it did land Julia's current meager magical strength made it little more than a snowball to the man. It was shown that he was very uncomfortable with the temperature differences. A komodo dragon would snap at Julia's leg, which she immediately turned into snow and reformed from different snow. "Danger danger!" she would mutter to herself.

Post by Cards 25th January 2014, 8:26 am

Khalisha nodded boldly in agreement with what Julia had said; it summed the whole situation quite nicely in her opinion. She jumped back, now, and started shuffling through her cards, fumbling to find the right ones (and accidentally dropping a few on the ground in the process, which worried her greatly) as she activated her 'guardian' ability from her lineage, granting her a huge shield made of adamantium. She'd managed to do this just in time, too, as the large man's staff collided violently three times against the face of the shield, and one of his illusions slammed up against it as well. She decided she'd have to bring his strength down to her level if she was going to win this, so she pulled out the nausea card, pairing it with her poison card.

As she was preparing, the hermit was shouting something about Khalisha and Julia getting out of his 'forst' and never 'cermin' back, bashing his staff repeatedly against Khalisha's shield before deciding that he'd tried that for long enough and turning on Julia, reeling back and appearing to go in for a slow, powerful strike. Sadly, this was not the case; as the man reeled back to swing, he almost immediately darted forward in a strange burst of speed uncharacteristic of a man his size, his staff whirling much faster than what would have been anticipated. With that, however, the goal was merely to push Julia further away, and as he completed a full arc with his staff he rose it up into the sky, focusing alot of energy into it. He was clearly preparing for something huge, and that's when Khalisha decided to make her move.

She bashed the komodo away with her shield, running towards the hermit as he charged up his spell, and slapped the poison-nausea combo card on his back, causing him to instantly lose focus from the nausea and take another count of D-ranked damage from the poison. Not only that, but his physical fighting capacity was halved now, for two posts, which caused Khalisha to lower her guard a bit. That was a bad move, because in his rage the hermit turned and waved his staff at the cat-girl, which she easily backed away from, meowing teasingly at the man. But the man simply smiled, as that is what he wanted her to do. She let out a screech of pain as she felt the teeth of the illusionary komodo sink deep into her calf; apparently the hermit didn't need to focus on illusions that were already in place. She took a little extra damage, too, from a dose of poison that the komodo had given her, and she dropped to a knee, her leg hurting too much for her to stay standing right that moment.

"Julia! We need to finish this quick... I'm taking too much damage..." Khalisha said, her eyes getting a bit blurry from the illusionary bacteria now raging through her bloodstream. It felt real enough, and that was scaring Khalisha. Even though she knew it was an illusion she couldn't manage to break free. With that, she shook her head in order to clear it a bit, turning around quickly and slamming the edge of her shield viciously into the komodo's jaw, sending it sprawling away. Then, she forced herself to stand up, her leg trembling horribly underneath her weight but managing to support it as she held up her shield again, ready to defend some more. "Come on, is that all you've got?!" She shouted, but the taunt was pretty worthless, seeing as she had just said that she was taking too much damage just a moment ago.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Julia Neviccare 25th January 2014, 10:58 am

Julia watched as Khalisha turned into her Guardian form, remembering it well from the mission where they guarded that couple's wedding. It was a powerful form, ready to block the man's onslaught of attacks, which was good, because that man tacked on quite the onslaught. After a moment, though, the man would turn on Julia as she would look at him in a tired manner. "Sheesh," she would mutter to herself, still not quite awake. The man would do this weird, skillful, twirling thing that freaked Julia out, and she would hop back a step or two, before letting her power swell for a moment. Suddenly a Komodo dragon would attack her from the left flank as the man would wind up something huge with that stick of his. Khalisha managed to save Julia with a distracting cocktail of nausea inducing gas and poison. Julia would jump away from the komodo dragon, and slide a bit as she would land and watch Khalisha get bit by a komodo dragon. "Noo! Khalisha be careful!" Julia would call out in what was probably vain, after all the poison was already there.

Julia would remain slightly panicked but now more awake, her resolve showing though a bit. "I'll kill you..." she would declare to the hermit, her magical aura fluxing upwards to a great degree. It would be visible now, and Julia's angry glare would pierce through this magical aura... almost demonic in nature, though her eyes glowed more of a white color for a moment. Julia's magical aura would suddenly double in size with the accompanied sound of something breaking, perhaps a limiter? Whatever the case, Julia would suddenly calm down, and the magical aura would fade. Suddenly the man would be coming at her with the staff twirling it, Julia was left unafraid somehow, and she would raise her hand as a wall of snow collided with the impact, "Snow Fort Minor."

Julia would shove the man back and hold her hand off to the side, palm facing skywards. A small tornado would generate, in her hand, and she would speak, "Boreas." She would wave her hand with the palm still facing upwards, throwing the small twister at the man. This would immediately expand into humongous blizzard whirlwind, which was like an explosion. Julia would speak, "If we do not see staff, magic won't work on us." She would grin a bit as she would raise her hand above her head, palm skyward again, as the snow from the immediate vicinity would form into a snowman hovering an inch or so over Julia's palm.

The sudden shock from Khalisha being bitten and poisoned by a komodo dragon kicked Julia up to C-Rank! (For the thread and made official upon success in the exam)

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Cards 27th January 2014, 2:37 pm

As Khalisha stood, ready to take any more attacks that the hermit may have to offer, she felt her leg throb with pain once more as the poison caused her further damage. She grunted a bit from the dull but intense pain, but managed to stay on her feet this time, focusing on staying on the defensive to rgain her composure. She heard the distress in Julia's voice and wanted to say something to calm it, but she shook her head and re-focused on the battle at hand. Looking at the sky now, Khalisha noticed that it would soon be time for the hind to arrive, according to the annyoing bird's rhyme. That much was a relief, especially since she was sure the fight with the hermit would be over very soon. She watched as Julia used her snow fort minor to block an attack from the hermit, smiling a bit and re-focusing again just in time to block an assault from the komodo that had just bitten her.

Just as she smacked the rather weak komodo (only dangerous because of how numerous it would have been and how dangerous it's poison would be had the hermit been allowed to continue using magic) again, she took a few steps back so she could keep her eyes on the entire battle, rather than trying to focus and re-focus on different things. She saw Julia using a spell that she'd never witnessed before; a small tornado that suddenly and violently expanded into a blizzard. The komodo was gone completely from her sight, but so was the hermit's staff, which was apparently a good thing. The hermit found himself cursing wildly as the child-like figure had clearly figured out the secret behind his magic, and Khalisha immediately began shuffling her deck, sorting through it to set up her next few moves.

After only a moment or two of preparation (the cards were already near the top, she just had to remove the topmost cards and switch up the order a bit), Khalisha charged into the blizzard and pulled out 'wave' and 'water'. She channeled energy into them when she reached the area she remembered the hermit being, sending a large wave of water outwards and coating bothe Julia and the hermit in it. She wasn't worried about Julia being hit by the wave, since she knew the little mage was unlikely to be affected in the slightest by it, but the water pretty much guaranteed frost bite/hypothermia on the hermit, plus it would freeze up and restrict his movements slightly. Immediately following this assault, Khalisha used her cat-like ears to determine the location of the hermit based on his angry grunts and pained shivering/panting from the cold. She lunged in his direction and placed the 'rage' card on him, which would make him slightly stronger, but he was still weakened from nausea, and would remove his ability to defend against Julia's coming attack(s). From there, Khalisha dropped to the ground, both to defend herself by raising her shield up behind her back, and also because all of that running on her injured leg made her need to take a break. "He's all yours, Jules!"

Post by Julia Neviccare 30th January 2014, 8:32 pm

Julia would stand, watching through the snow with her red eyes that pierced straight through the whiteness of it all. Her arm was outstretched upwards, palm skywards, floating just over it by a few inches or so was a snowman, about the size of a child, 3.5 feet tall, 2 feet wide at the base snowboulder's diameter. The wave of water would hit and soak the man, in a wave format. The man was bowled over by the water, as nature would finish giving Julia enough strength for the finisher. Julia would focus magic that she'd sapped from the area into the Sno-Man Bomb. "Here go, Sno-Man Alpha.... Beta!" she would call her spell. Each Greek letter spoken would time perfectly with a slightly more demonic appearing and 3 feet wider on all dimensions Sno-man Bomb. Julia would giggle a bit as the hermit was cursing out words about how 'cerld' he was and questioning in a pissed-off tone about the 'serdden snersterm'.

Julia couldn't make heads or tails of his accent, but it was funny to see the guy struggle with such a little bit of snow. Julia jump up, grip the Sno-Man Bomb with her fingers in a clawing motion, and she would chuck the giant demonic man of snow at the man, smashing him for an equivalent of damage to 1-C-Rank Damage+1-D-Rank Damage+C-Rank strength. This would be further bumped up by the resulting explosion of a 40 feet diameter, tacking on an extra C-Rank and D-Rank of damage. Julia's Lineage had its uses, as this was very similar to how she had defeated the ex-boyfriend who'd crashed the wedding. The explosion was a whirling blizzard that avoided damaging innocent creatures and allies, but was an opposite whirl to the previously established blizzard from Boreas, and while overpowering it, cancelled out the blindingness of the snow. It didn't matter, as the snow would now fall like normal precipitation. The hermit found himself buried upside down in snow. Julia would quickly take the man's staff, and bust it on the ground. "Freak..." she would say with a giggle. Julia would grin as the dawn would finally break, and it would glisten to her eyes, as she had just accidentally given a deer a good dusting of snow, and it now appeared snow white entirely... excluding its eyes, which appeared to be nonexistent. She would look at the deer, which was staring at her, in that weird freezing reflex deers had when a car is about to hit them. The snow on it was from Boreas, which Julia didn't know was safe, but was safe, unless you were wet, like the poor, poor hermit.

Cat & Mouse Empty Re: Cat & Mouse

Post by Cards 8th February 2014, 8:45 pm

Khalisha watched from under her shield as the man stumbled around wildly, trying to find someone to swing at before being suddenly overtaken by a massive Sno-man bomb thrown by Julia. Khalisha had expected that to be her next move, but she was still impressed by the size and damage of the thing. It was really an impressive thing to see such a young girl do. As the sno-man exploded, Khalisha's shield disappeared and for a moment she was worried about being in serious trouble, but the snow-splosion seemed to completely avoid her. Sighing a bit with relief, Khalisha stood again, her leg no longer feeling pain since the hermit's spell had been disabled and he had been defeated. The cat woman took a deep breathe and looked around as the blizzard cleared due to the sno-man bomb being set off, as if expecting to see something.

"Well done, Jules~ You always manage to knock 'em down, don't you?" Khalisha spoke, smiling at Julia's little comment about the hermit being a freak. Then, before anything more could be said, Khalisha spotted the snow-white deer... Wait, no, it was covered in snow, and she froze up a bit just like it had done, staring at it's weird, hollow eye sockets that seemed to lead to nothing but shadows, due to the snow covering the invisible deer was preventing light from passing through. It made it look like it had a solid shell of the powdery stuff, but Khalisha cleared her head quickly, knowing she needed to focus now on capturing the deer. She had no idea that the poor thing was sentient, and wouldn't be opposed to just coming with her, so she immediately pulled out her 'bind' card and took it by surprise by channeling energy into the card and throwing it. The card almost missed, but caught the deer on the right flank as it turned to run, binding it completely in a few instants. After that, Khalisha quickly turned into a dragon using her lineage's power, gripping the deer carefully in her new-found talon like claws. She looked at Julia and held her tail out to the little girl, wanting her to grab on, and soon after she took off. She took a moment to look around the area for the Queen Hera, before flying directly at it and landing on it's deck, placing the snow-covered and bound hind on the hard wood of the ship's deck. Khalisha looked around for a moment or two, in an attempt to find Shuhei, before saying, "Hey! Master? We're back!"

Post by Julia Neviccare 9th February 2014, 6:18 pm

Julia would watch as Khalisha sprung into action upon the hind even making a move, launching a card and both verifying it was invisible by dusting off its shoulder, and binding it in magic. The young albino native to Iceberg would giggle as the cat girl would become a dragon, and grab the hind and offer a lift with her tail. Julia grabbed a hold of the tail, and was lifted up along with the dragon and the hind by the humongous wings. Julia would climb along Khalisha's back and sat on the head of the large dragon, with the hugest smile on her face. "Ahahaha! Flying on dragon fun!" she would declare as she saw the browned forest below her, with white snow past that making an abstract mural of nature.

As the two of them would see Shuhei ahead by the airship, she would attain a large sweatdrop of anime proportions that could fill a big gulp drinking container. "Khalisha, we just take all night to find hind. You think Shuhei mad?" she would ask, with a tone of voice that sounded rather worried. Whether or not she would get the answer she wanted, she would hop off the dragon's head once Khalisha went into the proverbial landing gear, and ran up to Shuhei, and clung to his lower torso and snuggled lightly, "Master! We got hind for you! It was hard because it invisible and protected by weird forest hermit freak!" As she said that she would form a cloud to place the captured hind on and she would whisk it up to the airship.
