    'Ah yes, it's about time...'

In a nearby mountain altar, there stood a man, a man surrounded by magical energy, wearing an odd suit of writhing and moving armor. Screams sounded to echo out from the various mouths that opened up from its surface, small puffs of dark steam would occasionally be coughed out by one of the mouths at a time, as if he was wearing the corpse of some kind of demon. Befitting, this man was donning the Forbidden Armor of the Grand Mage, Gates Of Desolation. An armor so horrid and evil that the very fact that it exists was a testament to the naturally evil state that all humans were born into. The man that wore this, was Warden Edgespell, now a Demon Overlord and full-time Guild Master of the Dark Guild Tartarus. This armor was secretly passed through his family throughout the generations, and it was said that those who could withstand wearing it were gifted with unimaginable power.

Warden himself was a very resilient man, who was very capable in the field of withstanding things such as magical drain. He was, after all, a Demon now. Warden would stand in the middle of a large magical circle carved into the top of a large platform... a very large platform, which was caused by the simple plateau-ing off of a mountain. He would be generating magical energy in large amounts, a huge reserve of his power would be being revealed in that the magic circle was emanating violently. He would laugh a bit... and then he would laugh a lot, "Finally, all this planning has brought me to my dream moment." His wild, passionate voice was unable to be registered by the sound lacrima, causing it to distort in a fashion that sounded like some sort of demonic child. His eyes glowed red brightly with the overflowing evil and power that he was unleashing, until he pulled out a vial. It was full of a crimson fluid. The camera panned over it, zooming closer and closer until one could see faces inside, crying out for mercy. He'd applied some Living Magic to the Dragon Slayer Blood before this ritual, to make sure that the sacrifice was alive. Within this vial was equivalent to the lives of 10,000 Dragon Slayers. He would flare up his magical energies as he would chant in an ominous Latin manner, which seemed to react with the magic, causing it to form into a giant sphere, literally a mile wide as it were. It hovered in the air, about 300 meters above the mountain's plateau.

Warden would then uncork the vial, and a series of 10,000 small mote-like entities would fly out of the bottle. They glinted an eerie reddish aura as they did, and scattered just enough to look like a cone of souls, which would become absorbed into the giant orb of dark magic. "Acnologia, Arise!" he commanded with simplicity in his now completely and utterly twisted voice. The sphere would suddenly begin to alter the weater, a giant storm cycle brewed overhead in seconds as the Orb would begin to shape into that shape of a Dragon... no... THE Dragon King, Acnologia. It was an unmistakable appearance, a wingspan a mile or more across, with an equally long span from head to tail. The scales were jet black, with occasional blue spiraling patterns throughout, with a steely grey underbelly area. Overall, this monster was a very well-rounded out creature, very sleek, very sharp. Warden would laugh maniacally as this rituals fruits were bore with such luster. "Now then, Acnologia, listen to my command, and destroy the Magic Council, the Rune Knights... Destroy Era!" he would command aloud with a wild twisting in his voice.

The camera would pan over his eyes, full of wicked intend his sclera were now red while he appeared to have yellow irises, his curly brown hair now even more mangled and messy than it usually was, judging from the camera angle's view of it. The camera would then pan over the face of Acnologia, pitch black with two blue spiraling marks on either side of his head, with white, circular eyes, the entire inside of his mouth gaped open to reveal a blue color. The screen would then make a symmetry view of Warden and Acnologia letting out a roar each, showing that they were completely in synchronization. Warden would leap vertically, and land on Acnologia's head, and he would place a hand on his guild mark, looking kind of like he was scratching his back, activating a mind link connection through the tattoos. "Alright Demons, the Ritual was a success. Descend on Era on my command, stay far away from it until then," he would say aloud in a commanding, but still twisted voice, showing that his excitement was completely undetainable.

He would then cross his arms and point his left index finger out before himself and Acnologia, the mouths that formed on his armor's shoulders lettings out gaseous clouds of magic, "Let's go, Acnologia." The Dragon King would unleash a ear-shattering roar, destroying the landscape below with just that alone, and then would fly forward, kicking up a sonic boom that cleared the debris away like a leaf blower.

Not even a full 5 minutes of traveling later, Warden and his new weapon and companion would arrive at the scene of Era. It was completely peaceful, until something completely blotted out the sun with its shadow. The Guild Master of Tartarus would chuckle to himself, and jump a bit into the air, "Alright then Acnologia. I will let you do your thing. Obliterate Era, so we may usurp the order of Fiore and then soon, the World!" He would raise his hand up, forming a magical sigil in the air, as he would jump up high and create a small writhing floating demon made of air alone would make a suitable platform for the Demon Overlord to stand upon. The monstrous Dragon King would begin to inhale deeply, a huge tornado of air, colors, earth, resources from nearby were disappeared into his maw. And that was just the inhale, the titanic being would then form a magic circle in front of his maw, which turned into a multi-layered magical circle, and he would exhale, shooting a cone of energy, 100 miles long and wide. In the wake of this blast was complete and total desolation for the city of Era. A small myriad of homes and buildings would still stand, providing a very dreary field for battle, but this would merely be a slaughter, as Warden was only sticking around to finish off what Rune Knights and Magic Council Members remained. He placed a hand on his upper back once more, "Alright Demons, let us pick the landscape clean from the scum. Leave no survivors." He would then leap down from his platform demon and land on a rather squishy surface, the rubble beneath his feet became a demon of his design. And he would only laugh as it squealed in agony.

Post by Fancy Mel 2nd January 2014, 5:01 pm

Mel jumped when she heard a rattle. It seemed like no one in the council really wanted to hear her previous report. She was of course the lowest rank known to mankind. No one would want to listen to her important warning. She shrugged. She was mistaken to believe that they really "wouldn't" attack. Mel looked outside to see what was going on. Her eyes widened as she saw the chaos. "Yabai!" Mel exclaimed as she ran down the halls. She pointed every where, the word "Reinforce" hit the ceiling and walls that were being damaged. Mel shook her self as she forced herself to run to the council chambers. She kicked the door open looking around for someone who would listen to her. "They're here! The mages from my report! They're here!" The mage clad in pink shouted out to whoever was in the room. Words flew around the room DANGER, WAR, MURDER, etc disappeared as she made her shining entrance. Mel blushed and looked around. "Sorry, I do this when I'm super stressing out about something." She cleared her throat. "The dark mages have shown up and made their goals known. They are terrorists to the council. I recommend by the numbers that are about to grow from my previous report that we retreat." Mel stated.

She was ashamed to point that out, but she was rather weak compared to the council and she knew that the council had something up their sleeve, but Mel had witnessed the events in Fiore first hand. Especially from a certain monster of a mage. So much power he held. She was astonished that someone like him would waste their lives away in dark guilds. Mel remembered when she was witnessing an interrogation of a dark age, the question of "why" came up. Mel only heard "because I was bored." Mel shook her head to focus on the current. "What are your orders?"

Post by Endymion Dinkleberg 3rd January 2014, 2:22 am

In a nearby, Endymion sat down, alone without an accompaniment. "Would you like some more wine?" The waitress asked with a smile. "Yes. Oh, and some cheddar, please." After on final sip on his drink, he had sensed something. Something eerie and dangerous. After a split second, he had left, leaving an after image of himself sitting down. Then it happened.

He ran through the streets, shoving aside everyone he encounters. He ran as fast as he could, and he would often leave an after image and jump to the roof. After jumping high in mid-air, almost to the point of teleportation and leaving an after image behind, the city collapsed, and now in ruins, destroyed. "Damnit... Era... now lies in ruins..." Some of the homes would still stand, while the other buildings eventually shatter into blocks. "N-No... This can't happen..."

Dryaw was Standing still on a hill near the city of era as he had finally arrived here from magnolia. He had found out where his savior was staying. Mell a rune knight. It was fitting for a rune knight to help other people tough. The city was laying peacefully on the mountain it was build. It was the location of the magic council. The law of the magic world. They said who died and who lived if you did a crime. They were the ones who did the will of the gods under the mages. Even if they didn’t know that. But they were there hands. It was a place dryaw hold in high respect and maybe one day he could join their ranks and help whole of Fiore.

Dryaw felt a strange presence coming from the mountains behind era. It was something very dark and evil. Something so old it shouldn’t be alive nor it should be flying around the lands of the living. Dryaw gave his horse a good kick in the but and started to sprint toward era. He had to warn them from the coming danger. He didn’t know what it was but it was hostile that was for sure. Celine was following right behind Dryaw as they both were looking at the top of the mountains where the presence was nearing each moment. Dryaw was going as fast as his horse could bear him. it was getting high speed Celine was left behind as he had a better sprinting horse. He was going so fast that the bypassing scenery was just a blur. But still it wasn’t fast enough a scream was thundering over the plains around era as a giant lizard appeared. Or a dragon as people here called it. They were feared here as much as demons and gods but those were just some lesser creatures. It was completely black with some blue sparks on it scales. Yeah it was a massive beast but how bigger they are the more the harder they fell. It opened his mouth and a huge magical energy was gathering near his position. Not much later a huge beam left his mouth and crashed into era. The light and power fo he explosion threw dryaw of his horse . he rolled over the ground and eventually stopped rolling over the ground. He looked up and saw the city in ruins only a couple of buildings was standing straight. The dragon had a immersive power to destroy. It was evil. Evil must be destroyed. He was the gods will. And he would fight today to kill this beast of evil. It may have destroyed the city. It may have killed countless people but the magic council is still standing straight. Some cracks in it but not yet destroyed. Dryaw called his horse back to him and jumped on it.

“Celine follow me for the righteous seven we shall kill every enemy that was here today. Purge everything with the dawning of the gods. Let us bring right to the dead of these people. After that we shall bring down that overgrown lizard and show it that nothing can defy the gods.”, he shouted out as his horse staggered up. he started to run forward again towards the entrance of the now destroyed era. He wouldn’t let them live. To many ghosts were walking around the road that went up to the mountain where era was standing on. The ghosts of all the people that died today. Dryaw could hear there wailing voices in his ears. It only strengthen his resolve to kill everything that was evil. Foe or allie alike evrythin would be purged.

A small boy hardly older then 6 ran through the bustling streets of a thriving market with warm bread clutched in his tiny arms. All around him people hustled and bustled about going about their business hardly paying attention to him, thieving children were a common site in the town. Times were tough and no one could blame the little thief, the only people who payed him any attention were the town guards and they only did so because it was their job, they gave half-hearted pursuit at best and quickly lost him in the crowds of people. The small child giggled to himself as he made his get away and he fled the city as fast as his tiny legs would carry him. His most recent hide out had been taken by older boys so he was currently looking for a new place to haunt and had grabbed the bread thinking it would have made good rations for the exploration.

The town was located close to a dormant volcano that the villagers believed to be cursed, the boy was not very superstitious so he had earlier decided to try and find a cool cave up there to live in; it was the perfect set up in his mind because no one would ever come near it. Living on his own in strange cool places was nothing new for the child he hadn't ever had parents as long as he could remember and as far back as he could remember he had always known how to fend for himself but he still always got this feeling of excitement and adventure when he went outside the city to look for a new base. He scampered about for hours circling the base of the volcano looking for the cave, very soon his bread was gone and he tired and hungry. He looked back to the town he had came from and saw it was way too far to go back to before nightfall and a wave of terror over took him. If he couldn't find shelter before nightfall he would be at the mercy of the wolves and the child wasn't feeling very lucky. So he pushed on hoping to find light at the end of his proverbial tunnel and sure enough he soon found the mouth of a massive cave and he scampered inside with gleeful abandon of all caution. Almost immediately he ran into a massive metal foot, that's right a massive, metal, foot. He looked up to see who the foot belong to and what he saw left an imprint on his mind forever for he was staring into the eyes of a massive armor coated, large horned, savage demon.

    The Demon:

    Present Time

Go to Era he said, I have found a great new business opportunity he said, everything only gets better from here he said, he said. It doesn't really matter what he said anymore really, considering he was dead. Simon pressed his back against the one wall remaining of what had once been a large luxury estate, the fantastic gardens gone, the countless servants gone, the 6 floor mansion all but completely gone. Simon had hardly arrived at the new home his surrogate father had purchased in Era when the blast had hit, sent to go get a moving box from the storage room in the back Simon had groaned about the menial labor and pointless work but in the end it had saved his life. The mansion had been located on the edge of the city so when Acnologia had attacked it was only partially completely reduced to dust, the attack had missed him but just being close to it had sent Simon flying into a wall. Simon feared he was the only survivor of the blast within the entire mansion and seeing as he could see the ash and dust of the entire grounds he felt it was safe to say his fear was rational.

Separating himself from the lucky 1 surviving wall that he had pressed himself against earlier Simon looked over the ruin, no signs of survivors; funny he could have swore selfish bastards like his surrogate father were supposed to live through everything just to make life hell for everyone around them. The young mage wasn't sure if he should tr and feel remorse or something like that but he really couldn't, his surrogate father had been just that: his surrogate father and a pretty shitty one at that too. After taking a few moments to pretend to be struck with grief Simon stepped out of the rubble of his new-old-home and looked to see what the threat was that was so terrible it had wiped out all of Era in a single attack. Fortunately Simon didn't have to look very hard he easily caught sight of the behemoth Acnologia and he made a mental note to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. As much as he just wanted to run away and get out alive, he didn't want to do nothing either so Simon activated his God Leg magic  and began sprinting around the outskirts of town to get to the Rune Knight's headquarters in the hope he could help them in their efforts to put down the dragon.

His swords in hand Zack watched as the dragon king descended onto the city and destroyed most of it in a single roar. For once in his life there was a completely serious look on his face as he hovered in the air at a distance watching the destruction. Demons and dragons. What a combination. All they needed were gods and then all the slayers would be useful for once. Still, if the gods themselves descended then the world would likely be ending. Perhaps it already was and the gods had forsaken the world. No, he would not let it end. He had not yet achieved his goals. He could not let the world fall into chaos. He might not be a dragon slayer, but today he would make a dragon bleed. He'd forbidden Devon from joining him. He could not risk her in this fight. He needed all the strength he could get which meant using both of his swords.

"Oi ugly." Zack said using his wind magic to amplify his voice so it could be heard. "You're going down." With that he flew towards the dragon head first. His aim was to literally headbutt the dragon in order to stun it and then use his swords to slice it to pieces. A foolhardy plan perhaps, but one he intended to carry out unless his instincts told him otherwise. As he flew at the beast he activated his spell, the Sky Emperor's mantle. This caused him to be surrounded in a constant wind aura that was tinged with white. This aura was  dense enough that it formed a thin armour, very weak, but useful.  Whilst in this form he gained 100% enhanced strength and speed making him truly lethal. It was said to be the power to destroy demons. Well, today he planned to use it on a dragon.  With luck the distance should allow him to generate a sonic boom on the moment of impact thus increasing the force of the blow.

In order to increase his speed further he was holding the swords at his sides so he formed a rough triangle. This would allow him to cut through the air better by reducing the air resistance. Yet, this was not all. As he flew towards the mighty beast he inhaled the air directly in front of his head thus removing the air entirely. He hoped to enter Demon Force and use his full strength to bring down the beast. As a sky slayer it would take time, but it wasn't like the beast was going anywhere and even if it left it would be chased by Zack.

The demons, which he would likely have been highly effective against were ignored for the time being thus he was not using his full ability. He was perhaps being foolish, but that was all in his nature. Besides, his instincts told him that the real threat was the dragon and the man who had summoned it, an event he had heard about, but had been too busy to intervene as he had been in Malkariss.

End To An Era [Plot] [Open] Empty Re: End To An Era [Plot] [Open]

Post by Aiden Ainsley 3rd January 2014, 4:03 pm

Lance woke up in his bed at the inn when he heard a ruckus coming from outside. When he looked out he saw demons attacking people and a dragon?! Lance sat frozen in fear at the sight of the dragon. He had heard stories of them before but he hadn't believed them nor did he think he would ever run into a real dragon. He shot out of bed to got dressed as he ran to the roof of the building. He needed to see what was going on. Draco peeked out of his pocket and nodded at Lance as he flew upward and picked him up. Draco flew him to a nearby roof and dropped him off before flying away in fear. Lance kneeled on the roof and took a long look at the dragon "What the hell?!" Lance muttered to himself as two hooded figures came up behind him and put their hands on his shoulders.

Lance turned around a bit startled then his eyes were filled with tears. Memories flashed in his head of his child hood with him playing outside with Griffon and Melody and him training with Griffon and trying to impress Melody while doing so. The hooded figures took off their hoods "Nice to see you again Lance." They both said in unison. The boy looked like Lance but the girl had long blonde hair and crystal blue eyes. Lance jumped up and hugged them for a while then pulled away and turned to the scene at hand. "Damn, this is really bad..." Lance said to the two without turning his head and Melody nodded "Yes, the demons, the death..." She started to say but Griffon cut her off "not to mention the dragon..." he said in a cocky tone.

Lance got pissed at Griffon for that comment and tone and turned around. Lance walked over to Griffon and got into his face "This world is my home! I don't know if you care about it or not but I care about it so will you have the decency to at least act like you care?!" Lance said his eyes flashing red for a second then turning back to gold. Griffon took a step back in fear of Lance's sudden change in mood "H- Hey this is my home to... I care about it as much as you." Lance turned back around at Griffons comment with tears in his eyes as he put his hood on and walked to the edge of the roof "This is your home? You care about it? You don't have a home!" Lance said as he started to jump off to the next roof "Why wouldn't I have a home?"Griffon asked. Lance glanced at Griffon "You shouldn't even be alive.." He said and with that he jumped off the building and started running from roof to roof with tears streaming down his face. He didn't know what had come over him but he had to get somewhere or talk to someone that could make him feel better.

Melody took off chasing after Lance and when she reached him he had slowed down "It's ok I know why you are acting the way you are...." Melody said with a slight smile as she placed a hand on Lance's shoulder. Lance turned around he didn't want to but he did "I'm not going back." Lance said with a sort of grimace "never again..." he started to say but then all of a sudden he was being hugged by Melody. After a few minutes of silence Lance pulled away with a smile and nodded "Now if you will excuse me there is a town that I could try to help!" Lance said as he started to run off "Lance, when you have time come by a huge rock in the outskirts of town!" Melody called after him and Lance replied with a thumbs up as he ran back off into town.

As Lance ran he realized he didn't know where he was going so he stopped for a second and looked at the town in ruins and the chaos that was happening but then he thought that he may be able to find help at the rune knights base then he got an idea. He called Draco over and threw him a voice lacrima "Keep watch over the town. Call me if you have any information." Lance said as he ran toward the rune knights base. "I will not abandon this fight..." Lance thought to himself as he closed his eyes and clenched his fist as he continued running. Lance looked behind him to see that the city was now in ruins.... the inn he stayed at... everything but this only gave him more hope and continued to run faster than before.

In Aedre's younger and more vulnerable years her father used to advise her on a great number of things, he used to try shape her into a strong person. Both inside and out. On her part, she always used to turn it over and over in her mind; trying to understand him.
Other than advising, he didn't say anymore but they'd always been unusually communicative in a reserved way and she understood that he meant a great deal more than that. In consequence she was inclined to reserve all judgments, a habit that had opened up many curious natures to her and also made her the victim of not a few veteran habits. The abnormal mind is always quick to detect and attach itself to this quality when it appears in a normal person, and so it came that in the beginning of her teen years she was unjustly accused of being reserved by her foster parent.
While on her trips to the cities of Fiore, she became privy to the secret griefs of wild, unknown people. In one way or the other. She attracted them; like a magnet.
So it happened that when this foster parent of hers disappeared, Aedre once again ended up in the streets of Fiore. She was old enough to fend for herself, smart enough to learn the ways of these people and able enough to make a living out of the power she possessed. She became a Mage. Yes, that's what the citizens of Fiore named the few gifted among themselves. Few who could bend the power of arcane to their wills.
She had left a forest of friendly trees and cold water, so this sudden change of surroundings made her feel uneasy. Yet, Aedre managed. It was only for a day or so before she started seeing herself as a guide, a pathfinder, an original settler. People had started to confer her the freedom of the neighborhood.
And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on trees - just as things grow in fast movies - Aedre had that familiar conviction that life was beginning all over with the summer.

    ----------------------

That was until she met a certain man called Frederik, who happened to be the Master of Savage Skull. A guild which, well... was poles different from what Aedre had seen and experienced till now. They were.... to be put subtly in a single word.... a Dark Guild.
Without giving it a second thought, the young woman joined their ranks. Very glad to do so; since it basically allowed her to go against the Magic Council. That stupid little beacon of righteousness; of which her Grandfather is a part of. But that is an entirely different story. Irrelevant to what was now taking place below her.
Yes, at the moment Aedre's world was filled with the sound of explosions and the whirring sound of wind; as she flew above the city of Era. She actually stood on a massive creature, a Wyvern; as many people called it. Its wings beating the air like the sails of a windmill. The view from the top, made the city of Era look like a smoking cauldron; as another noteworthy creature stood in its center. A Dragon. In other words, a real Dragon. And its sight made Aedre's heart pump beats of nostalgia; as it reminded her of Nero.
    "...."
Silence followed for a couple of seconds.
The cold wind caressed her face in a harsh way, blowing away the strands of purple hair away from her forehead. Without looking at the man accompanying her, the woman spoke, "It seems we're in Era now... Faust." It did seem weird to take the name of a man she barely knew.
But, once again, Aedre's eyes gazed at the city below, at the people who ran around for the sake of their dear life. It caused a small smirk to grace her lips; thinking about how fruitless their actions were. The end was inevitable. Cause end always meant death.
"Its time for us to descend." she stated in a frosty tone, letting the man know that they needed to take the Wyvern down to the ground.
It was finally time for some action.

Wintery winds swept across the valley of a small town nestled in the far northern part of Fiore. In this valley sat a town of less than 300. The town was built with homes of cold stone and brittle wood, the roofs were thatch, most of them in partial ruin. The people here had been living this way for the past hundred years, the last of their once great kingdom now just rubble in the midst of the mountains. The town was situated in a style where the larger buildings were closer to the mountain side while the smaller homes, those that belong to that of the poor were left near the outskirts where the winds were harsher. Here in this small town was the last of the bloodline of a powerful king. The king was around eons ago, some of the gods have even forgotten his name from the passage of time. The blood had become so diluted that not even the king would recognize his own heir but that would not stop the blood and spirit of the king from finding its next host. Loros the Ice Demon found himself in this pathetic village for one reason and one reason only, to find a person to use to spawn his child. The demon was as old as most the gods if not older, he watched the dawn of dragons and had a hand in their falling. He had helped mold the harsh cold north and even watched as his creations spread throughout the world.

The fog from the man’s breath flowed like a cigarette smoke into the air around him. His black and grey hair was trimmed neat, same could be said for the stubble on his face. His long jacket wiped in the wind. Behind him was hundreds of yellow, bloodthirsty eyes. He had brought nearly a hundred dire wolves with him this evening, were they needed? No, he could handle this affair on his own but he wanted to assure that the person that he sought was not harm in his attack. He took a deep breath, as he exhaled a eerie howl would echo throughout the valley, large ice shards would begin to erupt from the ground destroying house after house, he made sure that the one he needed would not be harmed though. This attack would also keep any survivors trapped in the area making it nearly impossible for them to escape. He could hear the screams of woman and children from the distance, men were rushing out with their spears and swords, the fools. Loros made a small wave with his hand and the wolves behind him started howling, one after another. The pack begun to charge on the town, flowing past Loros in a stampede. The wolves were hungry for flesh and blood, they were Loros’ children to some degree.

    Now in Era
Faust, Aedre, and Ren, three of Savage Skull’s top mages had been flying for the past hour or so. He had never met the two women accompanying him on this journey, he had kept silent the whole flight just keeping his eyes open. IT made him feel fairly uncomfortable flying in air space so close to Era, the town’s magical barriers and constant patrols would make it tricky to slip through unnoticed. When they approached the area and he had not noticed any guards he instantly knew something was up. A roar could be heard echoing throughout the area causing goose bumps to appear all over his body. The deafening roar and the smell of something very dark in the air. He felt Neimo’s own body shiver from the sound, it seemed that his flying friend had realized the same thing he did, and there was something much stronger nearby than he ever believed.

The group of three were in site of Era now, or what was left of Era. A large black flying beast was in the air by the group, the sheer site of it made Faust reconsider this plan. Fredrick had not really told the three much, just to go to Era and see what events transpired and if needed or wanted join in on said events. The dark mage must have realized that something like this would be happening. He heard the woman riding behind him speak. “"It seems we're in Era now... Faust. Its time for us to descend." He agreed, being in the sky with a creature like that was probably not the smartest move but he questioned the ground bellows safety as well. He saw a few people below trying to fight off the demon herd along with trying to make their way through the ruble. There was two figures that really stood out to him, one was a man on a horse back running towards the city, nearly right below the group, the second was another figure, one he could not make out as well, flying right for the dragon. Fearing to even get too close to the dragon he decided that he would settle on the man with the horse. He pulled on Neimo’s fur signaling the descent along with pointing out the figure so the creature would know where to go. “I believe you are correct miss Aedre. Let’s stick to the outer area for the moment, who knows if that dragon will attack again.” He looked over to Ren to grab her attention so she would notice the two droping, she was much stronger than the two and probably would not be needed in the fight with this man, she would serve better fighting off that figure heading towards the dragon.

Neimo would fly the two ahead of the horseback man attempting to cut him off. As they would get low enough (roughly 10 meters from the ground) Faust would leap off hoping Aedre would follow suit. The two would have landed nearly right in front of the man. Faust had prepared himself for this moment in time, a moment where he would need to be ready to go all out from the start. On his neck hung the ring that held his armor hung, his ring rested on his right hand ring finger, Neimo would keep watch in the skies for Faust. He was sure though that his strength combined with Aedre’s would be enough to handle any situation. Before the man would get there Faust said a brief statement to the woman standing beside him just so that the two understood each other a bit more. “If you have the chance to end this fight do so, do not worry about me I will make it out of there one way or another. We cannot afford to lose here, Master Fredrick is expecting us to show this world what the new Savage Skull is made of. His eyes locked on the direction of the man, his powers were ready to go all that there was to do now was wait.

End To An Era [Plot] [Open] Empty Re: End To An Era [Plot] [Open]

Post by King Zenshin 4th January 2014, 2:35 am

"Dammit! Why didn't I figure it out sooner!" Zen cursed aloud as he rode on one of his creations, his peregrine falcon made of solid ice. He'd spent the entire time since the attack on Magnolia researching old prophecies and legends as to what one could do with the blood of every dragon slayer. All said different things, but had a universal theme throughout all of them, the resurrection of a powerful dragon, one that stood out among other dragons, a scary thought. There was only one dragon known for that kind of strength, the king, the dark dragon, Acnologia. Where would somebody go if they had that much power at their control? Zenshin would go and level the capital, Crocus, but that would be too predictable. The only place he could think of that was worth attacking with such a powerful weapon would be Era.

Faster... faster! he thought as the falcon flew through the air with him on it, feet frozen to the back so he doesn't fall. It was his quickest means of transportation, but he still felt as though it was too slow. Faster dammit! It took him quite a while to come to this conclusion, but he was sure that it was where the leader of Tartarus, Warden, would strike. He was a relatively new face to the dark guilds, but even then, he had done so much more than someone like Fredrick, whom Zen still regretted not killing when he had the chance. Zen had also shared his thoughts and concerns about where the attack would happen with each of the guilds, telling them that it *would* happen and that it *would* be in Era. Whether or not they believed him was up to them. He felt fairly certain that he had convinced Count Sparrow, and with him convinced, they'd be forced to protect Era.

Unfortunately, he was too late. By the time his bird had arrived in the airspace over Era, the dragon had already been summoned and had already destroyed a very large amount of the great city. Much of it had already turned to rubble, and all it took was a roar of the creature. Zenshin had a last resort, but that's exactly what it was. Hoping he wouldn't have to use it, he flew down onto the soil that replaced home and pathways, unfreezing his feet from the falcon's back and looking up at the dragon king floating overhead. How many innocent people have to die before this monster is satisfied... I should've figured it out sooner and stopped the summoning... Why is he killing civilians if his goal is to destroy the Magic Council... He has no right to become a leader... I will kill him. All these thoughts raced through his head as he hopped off his falcon and dispelled it.

All of his magical energy was surging through his body, ready to be redirected at, well, anything. It was like a soda bottle that has been violently shaken up, but there is no place to go. The air around him was chilling, the ground under him freezing under his feet. Zenshin pointed his index finger upwards at the dragon and spoke two words, "Explosive bullet..." In no time at all, a beam was fired at the dragon at supersonic speeds, the battle for Era, had begun.

Explosive Bullet - 90% magic power remaining
    100% HP remaining

The ground trembled when the sudden attack landed onto Era. And Harland could just barely keep him self standing, while seeking support against a table. And as the glass of the windows shattered and the main chandelier crashed into the ground, there came only one thing to mind. Fear, fear of what the future may hold. Because he and the Rune Knights were far from ready to stand against a threat of the dark guilds.

But Harland didn't know what was going on until he heard a might roar trembling the city once more. And as he looked out of a broken window he could see the gigantic beast that stood upon the rubble of what was formerly known as Era. A mighty dragon, witch black scales. Harland knew immediately what it was, it was the doom bringer. The black dragon that would call upon a new era.
    'How..how...could this be! Acnologia..'

Moments after realizing that the gods had forsaken them and young woman by the name of Mel dashed into the Magic Council gathering room.
"Sorry, I do this when I'm super stressing out about something." She cleared her throat. "The dark mages have shown up and made their goals known. They are terrorists to the council. I recommend by the numbers that are about to grow from my previous report that we retreat. What are your orders''

Harland looked at the young commander, even though tragedy had struck she still stood firm. Ready to evacuate the council members and the remaining survivors. It was a turning point in Harland's fear, that if these youngsters could still stand and face this dark day then Harland could so too. And as he pulled him self back together while leaning on his cane he shouted out at Mel. With a strong and firm voice and ready to face the threat.

'No! We shall not retreat! We shall not waver. No we will stand strong against this threat. For we are the Council! How can we expect others to fight if we ourselves have fled in shame. No we must protect this city, for it our duty and pride as a Rune Knight'

As his words echoed through the entire building, reaching everyones ears and flowing courage in their hearts once more. And when he spoke it almost looked like the Council Room tremble because of it.

'Mel, go and gather the Rune Knights. And prepare for battle! Also find Count Sparrow! We need him now more the ever!'

"I believe you are correct miss Aedre. Let’s stick to the outer area for the moment, who knows if that dragon will attack again." Faust's reply brought a curt nod from Aedre, as she casted a fleeting glance at the majestic creature below. At the same time she could notice their altitude dropping with every passing second; as they flew past a man  with a horse. The woman's sight locked on to Faust, as she tried articulating his plans and seemed too busy looking at the two figures below them.
    'I see.'
In a split second, she understood his mind, as he picked out their prey from the throng below.
The air rippled harder as Faust's winged companion flew close to the ground and Aedre watched the man leaping off to the ground. Getting his notion, the purple-haired woman followed suit and landed on the floor pavement with a soft, muffled thud. The dim shadow of the Wyvern headed north, its wings barely scraping the top of a building. Aedre's eyes were curiously following its track, as it now looked like a small back dot in the vast cloudless horizon.
"If you have the chance to end this fight do so, do not worry about me I will make it out of there one way or another. We cannot afford to lose here, Master Fredrick is expecting us to show this world what the new Savage Skull is made of." Faust's voice brought her back to reality. Back to the battleground.
It seemed as if he held belief in her powers. Something which she didn't lack herself; being confident. And this confidence always unsought - frequently, in the course of her life she had feigned sleep, preoccupation or a hostile levity when she realized by some unmistakable sign that an intimate revelation about her opponent is quivering on the battleground.
"Indeed." She uttered, almost in a whisper, bringing life to a small wisp of startled air around her.
The woman's eyes transfixed themselves on the approaching man, as she realized with observation that he was a Mage. There was magic wafting around him, he was determined.
    So was she.
And as the man ran himself close to the Savage duo, Aedre brought both her hands close to each other. The air around her caught speed, swiveling around her frame as a small orb of incandescent water took birth in her hands. Still keeping contact between the tips of her fingers, the woman slowly brought separation to her palms; so an onlooker would see a beach ball sized, fluid sphere in her hand.
"Get ready." she stated, or more so, commanded to the man beside her. Flailing her hands back, Aedre released the sphere in the air, making it float twenty meters above the ground. It pulsated strongly for a second, before degenerating into twenty streams of water with arrow-like tips. They would all home in on the man and the woman following him, ten for each.
If he was fast he could try dodging it, but it would be futile since Aedre controlled these arrows with her own thoughts. So unless he miraculously transported himself to someplace far away, he had no chances of escaping this fate.
Or... he could block it someway; if that was even possible for him.

Monstrous eyes looked into the small boy who had wandered into his cave, the owner of the eyes was a mighty demon known as the Metallic Demon Kaminantium, the demon lowered himself to a crouch in an attempt to become level with the child but he soon found because of his size and the boy's tiny figure he would have to lay down to achieve that, his head being bigger then the entire body of the boy, which simply wasn't going to happen. The metallic demon spoke "Who are you that enters my cave." The boy was trembling he had long since gone pale, he wanted to turn and flee  but something stopped him from moving he just stood there petrified in terror it was a miracle he spoke at all "I'm...I mean I don't really have a name, I'm not really..... anyone." The demon leaned forward to look at the pathetic example of a human standing before him "So you are no one? No one would miss no one now would they?" The boy fearing where this was going managed to find the common sense to turn and run away but the massive demon easily cut him off "Not so fast. You've got spirit and room to grow, I think I may be able to make use of you."

    Present Day

In a relatively short amount of time Simon had put a slight bit of distance between him and the beginning of the forming conflict and was now standing back from a distance surveying what was going on. From his observations he had seen a lot of people he didn't know and that was alright with him but he did see two faces he did know and that was going to be a problem. His enhanced slayer sight was a useful benefit but far from hawk like so he couldn't exactly see facial features and what not, but from a combination of their familiar scents and their general appearance that he was able to pick out Simon was almost completely certain they were who he thought they were. "Lance what the hell are you doing here?" Simon whined to himself, why was that guy even in Era? Had he followed Simon knowing he had been taken 'prisoner' by his surrogate father? Just what was his deal? The young mage shook the questions off, bottom line he was here and that wasn't going to change he could only hope Lance wouldn't get himself killed. A much greater problem was the presence of the ice demon slayer who Simon was painfully familiar with, Simon had no idea how we would deal with him if he was involved but he would find a way.

Simon stretched a bit and tested his muscles where they had been hurt in his last fight, everything seemed to be in working heck he felt even stronger then before he guessed his full power was coming back to him he could only hope it would be enough to combat Faust and you know all the other dark mages there and the dragon king thing Simon wasn't out to settle a grudge or anything no no no no not at all. However obviously Faust was the single greatest threat to humanity right now and had to be eliminated as soon as possible, clearly, and this diagnosis of the ice demon slayer's threat level was in no way biased by spite. Trying to think rationally Simon analyzed what was going on around Faust before charging in, he recognized the scent of a horse and two very powerful magic beings near by Faust. He could more or less guess that Faust and his 'friend' were teaming up on some wizard saint or other equally awesome bad ass.  He didn't want to get involved but two on one hardly seemed fair so he started taking a very long round about route outside the city running at a solid magically enhanced speed to reach the site of that particular conflict.

Dryaw was nearing era as suddenly the land under him was getting darker. Something casted a shadow over them. He didn’t need to wait long to know what was flying over him as not much later a wyvern flew over there head. Was it the day of the lizards or something. Dam all these pests flying in the air. He felt a dark presence coming from the wyvern. It wasn’t flaying on itself. Were it dark mages from the guild that brought this overgrown lizard to era to destroy it. Where they now scavenging the area for prey like vultures after a battlefield. Circling in the air spotting for weak enemy’s and attacking them. But if those mages thought he was weak they would be in for a surprise. he janked the Necklace he was wearing of his neck and threw it up in the air. The crystal started to shine brightly and transformed. With each passing second the glow became bigger and not long after wards a blade appeared. It was 70.5 inches long with a blade that looked like silver as it was made by angels blood. Near the handle of the blade half metal circles were attached with spikes coming out of it. angel feathers were hanging on the handle and in the middle the gem of the necklace was sitting.

The blade was brimming with power to beat evil back to the dark pits where it came from. It was the most divine object of his religion and he could handle it very well. He was preparing himself to deal with these rascals in the air. If they would come down to beat somebody up he would back them up. it didn’t take long or one of them jumped from the wyvern some yards in front. It seemed they were going to take him out. Well he wasn’t a long ranger fighter so he had to close in on them. He was doubting if he already should use it but that decision was taken out of his hand as the next one that dropped down shot something towards them. He didn’t wait to look what it was but pressed his left eye into its skull and aimed near the two mages. One moment he was on his horse the next he appeared just infornt of the two dark mages. He grabbed his zweihander firm at the handle and swinged behind him and tried to hit both of the mages in front of him with a mighty swing of his zweihander. The blade flew trough the air and the two mages should be surprised by his sudden apparel. Celine on the other hand couldn’t dodge the water spirals and was struck by them. She was nearly thrown off her horse but continued to run towards there location while her arm was bleeding from cuts.

Kyll had been held in Era for a bit, but she had no clue of why she was returning to the city to begin with. She saw the figure of the dragon. "Oh no..." She put a finger on the back of her neck sending out a distress signal to her guild master and fellow members. He's back! Acnologia's back! Come quick they need us, she thought. She landed on the ground and looked around at the people. A thought hit her. This is the perfect moment to strike and grab his journal. She thought and began to run towards the council dodging any sort of debris landing around her. Then she saw him. The priest. Water arrows heading straight for Dryawr. "Watch ooooout!!" She screamed. Upon the words watch out she held her palm out sending a wall of light straight at the mage shoving him out of the way of the arrows. Her hand steamed as she jumped a good distance away. She looked up in the air. "You..." Her eyes changed over to Alexander. She put a hand on the back of her neck to send out another distress signal to her guild mates. "What are you doing here, Alexander?" She saw the mage Aedre. "And you... You attacked a fellow mage." She gripped her fist. "So you really want to pick a fight." The closed eyes mage finally made her debut to another dark guild mage. She opened her eyes slowly revealing the glowing green irises filled with rage. She looked at Alexander. Kyll felt a pounding in her chest. This was an unfamiliar feeling. "Dryawr... be careful." She cracked her knuckles. "It's been a while since I tested my strengths with dark mage. Better yet... a dark mage and a confused mage." Kyll said smirking looking up towards Alexander.

Mel nodded to the command. "Yes sir!" She saluted and ran out of the door towards the offices. "Councilman Sparrow!" She shouted through the halls. Mel was rather shaken up. She stopped in her steps in front of the corridor that lead to the offices. The ceiling cracked. Mel grabbed her ears as two REINFORCE words popped up out of thin air. She tried to open the door, but the door would not budge. Her eyes widened as she started banging on the door. "Councilman Sparrow!" she shouted. She held out a hand and the word KEY appeared. She put it in the lock and the door opened. "Councilman Sparrow!" She opened the door. There was debris falling everywhere. "Acnologia, the destroyer has appeared sir!" She saluted. "According to Councilman Harland we need to fight back!"

Post by Guest 4th January 2014, 12:02 pm

Two figures stood at one of the many gates of the city of Era, staring up at the massive apocalyptic figure which was Acnologia. Even from the other side of the city Marick was able to feel radiating power and potential destruction of the dragon, and he knew above all else that he and Hidate wouldn't last even a few seconds if they joined the fray. They'd most likely get ripped to shreds. No, instead Marick focused on another important job that would need doing immediately; evacuating the citizens of Era. Of course there was the ulterior motive behind it. Somewhere in this city was a girl he cared more for than he'd ever admit; Kara Matheson, a young woman he'd escorted to a ball not even a month ago. He'd stayed in contact with her ever since and upon seeing the blast from Acnologia he had to ensure her safety.

Marick rushed into the city streets.s throwing his coat to the ground in order to remove the air resistance and speed himself up. He burst down the center street without even a hint of hesitation, seemingly ignoring the slates and bricks falling to the ground from the houses surrounding him. ”Hidate head down the left road and help the citizens there to escape! We’ll meet back at the gate once the roads are clear of survivors!” he called back to his teammate, before turning his attention solely on the scene before him and the job at hand. As much as he wanted to focus on finding Kara and her father, he knew he had to help the current survivors for now. If he found them as well then it’d simply be a bonus.

If she's dead I swear I will rip that dragon's head from its body with my bare hands... He almost growled it inside his own head, but it was enough to get his blood pumping. Citizens were already beginning to flee the city which made his job a little easier. However that dragon was not alone. Marick immediately noticed there were some rather unsavoury creatures lurking about attacking the fleeing masses. Needless to say this pissed him off to a whole other level. "How about you take a gamble and face someone who can fend for themselves!" his voice rang out, surprisingly clear above the screaming people. If this is hell then I'm gonna make myself right at home here whether they like it or not.

Death and despair filled the air, all while the Rune Knights were taking up arms inside the headquarters. Which was still barely standing after the dragon's devastating attack. And Harland knew if they were about to stand a chance against these enemies, he had to meet them with force. He had bring out the artillery inside his own city. A dangerous spell of grand magic that could deal a lot of damage. And be dangerous against his own citizens as well. But that was the price of war, Harland knew this all too well. Yes, there was no other solution.
He walked towards a gaping hole in the wall, and looked over the devastated Era. And with a tap of his cane on the ground he shouted out over the town. Once again making his voice echo, but this time over the battlefield.

    'Fort San Felipe del Muerte'

A tremendous pentacle appeared under his feet. And from out of the ground and the Council Headquarters, huge barrels appeared from out and around the building. Connecting with each other and forming a fortress of cannons. This was Harland' strongest spell, a vast maze of cannons that together former an enormous fortress. But this time he reinforced the Council headquarters as well. It probably would not stop the dragon, but it sure as hell would damage him.

Hidate stood at the gate with Marick, both looking out over the decimated city and saw Acnologia, a giant mass of a dragon. Hidate thought very briefly of a peaceful idea, but stopped that thought immediately after reminding himself of the state of the city. There was no peaceful solution to this. Hidate knew he couldn't help fight so thought upon another idea instead, helping the people of this city. Marick rushed into the city street's with Hidate close at hand, throwing his coat to the ground. He and Hidate rushed down the center street without a thought towards the falling rubble all around them. ”Hidate head down the left road and help the citizens there to escape! We’ll meet back at the gate once the roads are clear of survivors!” he called back to Hidate. As Marick finished his sentence Hidate nodded and bolted off to the side, heading down the left road.
Hidate made his way down the cracked streets and noticed odd creatures helping in the destruction of the city, and harming it's citizens. Hidate closed in on one to the right, facing away from Hidate, dropping low and using his left leg to sweep his foe's legs, and rotating, used his right leg to smash his foe's head into the ground as it fell back from the leg sweep. Hidate righted himself and took off towards another creature that was attacking a small family. Hidate situated himself and held both hands up in front of his body with open palms, with his right hand directly above his left hand. Hidate moved his right hand in a wide clockwise formation until it was positioned where his left hand was previously, and at the same time, moved his left hand in a wide anti-clockwise formation, until it was positioned where the right hand was previously. After the gesture a hole opened up and rapidly closed itself, creating a wide beam, hurtling towards the creature. The creature was flung back as the beam hit it, and Hidate ran up to the family. "Go, The path that way is safe!" he said as he gestured towards the path he had just come down. He turned down the opposite direction the family had run off to and sighed as he saw more creatures coming through. 'This isn't going to be easy...'

Matabei smiled wickedly as she walked through the destruction and mass chaos that was Era. Her psychotic personality enjoyed the carnage that was occurring, and she wanted nothing but to just bathe in the blood of innocents and anyone associated with the magic council. Matabei was in a state of euphoria, bringing back some memories she thought had long been repressed. Shaking the old memories out of her head, Matabei wickedly jabbed her index and middle fingers into a man's eyes as he tried to run away, taking a bit of pleasure in the man's screams of pain. Matabei pulled her fingers back and made a clicking noise with her tongue after noticing some blood got onto her fingers. Wiping them off on her jeans, she continued to walk through the streets with a content and evil smile plastered upon her face. Matabei heard Acnologia behind her and just smiled wider, knowing a lot of people were dying elsewhere as well.

"How about you take a gamble and face someone who can fend for themselves!"

Matabei stopped and her smile faded from her face as she heard some brave, and possibly foolish, man call out his challenge to the demons that were attacking the city. She sighed and turned towards the sound with a deep frown etched onto her features. Matabei began to walk in the direction she heard the annoying voice come from. She eventually came across a platinum-blonde haired man wearing a white shirt and black trousers staring down a group of the demons. Matabei walked behind him and placed her arm on his shoulder, plastering a fake smile on her face.

"Now Isn't that a grand idea, they should totally stop this chaos."

Matabei said with a small amount of sarcasm dripping from her delicate voice. Matabei removed her arm from his shoulder and walked in front of the man slowly, swinging her hips side to side slightly in order try and distract him. When Matabei was about six feet away from him, she stopped and turned around to stare into his blue eyes. Matabei smiled cruelly, and began to chuckle slightly.

"But then again, if they stopped all this glorious screaming and death would cease. That is something I don't want to stop, so why do you?"

Matabei asked with fake curiosity. She knew exactly why he wanted to stop the carnage, he was probably one of those goodie two shoes who dreamed of saving the world and being the hero everyone loved. Matabei wanted to hurl, but she held it back as she awaited the man's response to her question. Matabei kept her smile on her face, head cocked to the right in a way of showing her confusion, or fake confusion in this case. Matabei ignored the demons behind her, as well as Acnologia, choosing to only focus on the man in front of her.

Marick brought his fist back and punched a demon in mid-jump, sending it crashing to the ground. The intended target was a young boy who was too busy fleeing to even notice the demon or the man who'd just saved his life, not that Marick particularly minded. He would accept praise later in form of a cold refreshing alcoholic beverage or a place to stay for the night…or both. He brought his left arm up to block another demon, before simply clotheslining it with his right arm. It lay flat-out on the floor completely unconscious. Just as he was prepared to take a step forward he froze, feeling the magical presence of someone nearby…and it wasn’t Hidate. Marick turned his head to see an arm on his shoulder belonging to a (he noted, rather beautiful) white haired woman.

"Now isn't that a grand idea, they should totally stop this chaos." She spoke rather delicately, but even through that Marick could hear the sarcasm as clear as day; a result of hearing sarcasm from the many women he’d been with no doubt. The woman walked away, leaving her arm behind which Marick merely brushed off of his shoulder. It was a magical illusion he assumed, so he paid little mind to it, his eyes instead following the rear of Matabei. She had a nice body…why were the hot ones always crazy? The woman stopped about 6 feet away and turned to look at him with her hazelnut eyes giving a considerably darker look than he believed possible as they connected with his electric blue ones. "But then again, if they stopped all this glorious screaming and death would cease. That is something I don't want to stop, so why do you?"

Despite the bloodfreezing look he was receiving Marick still remained vigilant in his stance – he’d dealt with crazy women in the past afterall. ”Because bringing innocent people into a war is unnecessary. If you want to fight the legal guilds, destroy the Magic Council, be my guest. I honestly couldn’t care less. But attacking and killing innocent people? That doesn’t sit right with me.” His voice was calm, collected. He knew he’d most likely end up fighting here, and he was more than ready for a showdown right here, right now. He was pissed off, and this woman was one of the people causing this mood. ”So, I’ve answered your question…now it’s your turn to answer mine.” he continued as he pulled his cards out and shuffled them before placing them back in their holder. ”How about you gamble…and play with me?”

”Because bringing innocent people into a war is unnecessary. If you want to fight the legal guilds, destroy the Magic Council, be my guest. I honestly couldn’t care less. But attacking and killing innocent people? That doesn’t sit right with me.”

Matabei's cruel smile didn't fade at this statement. No, in fact it grew even wider at the accusation the man made. Matabei held no malice to anyone who wasn't a mage or the council sure, but that didn't mean she didn't enjoy a good slaughter now and again. It was when she was killing those who couldn't defend themselves when Matabei could truly get all of her aggression and anger out of her system. Sure it wasn't often at all, but when she did she enjoyed it to the fullest just like now.

”So, I’ve answered your question…now it’s your turn to answer mine.” Matabei watched in barely held back amusement as the man shuffled a deck of cards and placed them into a holder he had. ”How about you gamble…and play with me?”

Matabei lowered her head so that her face was covered by her hair. She shook slightly before sounds could be heard coming from her. The sounds of her delicate giggles, which soon exploded into unrestrained laughter. Matabei threw her head back as she continued to laugh uncontrollably, her usual delicate laugh being replaced with a cruel and insane version. She held her gut as she bent forward and continued to laugh. Eventually she stopped laughing and lowered herself to just giggles as she wiped a tear from her eye. Staring back into the man's eyes while still giggling maniacally somewhat, Matabei responded to him.

"Hehehe.......All men are the same....haha......Always ready to fight someone without thinking."

Matabei had stopped laughing but the insane smile that she wore didn't fade at all. She started to pace back and forth while talking to the man in front of her, obviously he was in a rush for something. Matabei wanted to try and stall him for a bit longer, and maybe even ruin whatever plans he had.

"Now why would you want to fight me hotshot? Aren't all these demons worth your time?"

Matabei asked with fake curiosity again. She didn't really care for any of the demons, just the carnage that all of them were causing. Matabei looked back towards the man again with her smile seemingly less crazed and more soft, some of the inner good showing inside of her even if she wasn't aware at all. Matabei kept moving, although she slowed down a lot and kept eying the man as she walked by.

"Well if we are going to fight, will you at least tell me your name? It would be rather rude for us to fight without knowing the others' name. Don't you agree sir?"

Matabei managed to say this without malice, and with general curiosity this time. Her voice had regained its normal tone and pitch for now, and she didn't have a defensive posture as she stopped walking right in front of the man again. Matabei held her right arm with her left hand, and she continued to ignore the chaos ensuing behind her. and just focused on the man in front of her. Sure she hated men, but she would always try to be respectful somewhat in a fight in which someone could get hurt badly or die. Not to mention there was always the possibility that he could beat her, and she didn't like to lose at all.

Post by Godlike Frederik 4th January 2014, 3:49 pm

At the other side of the broken city, standing on a hill near the outskirts. Stood an enigmatic man shrouded in the darkness of his cloak. Only revealing a lower bit of his face from under his hood.

    It has begun
That was the only thought the flowed through Frederick's head, when he laid eyes upon the rubble formerly known as Era. Which was now a terrifying sight behold, after the dragon appeared it almost immediately laid the grand city to waste. Leaving only a few hundred houses standing, which were mostly at the outskirts of town. The centre was completely vanished, well almost. A mile or two away from the centre stood the Magic Council Headquarters, or what was left of it. The dragons attack had greatly damaged the building and now it was only held together by a construction of cannons.
But that was not Frederick's main concern, no far from it. He could care less for the destruction of this city, nor did he care for the lives that have vanished by the dragon's attack.
Right now he only cared for the dragon itself.

'Can you feel it Mary, can you feel the change!'

The dark hooded man for Savage Skull stood with his back towards a rather unlikely dark mage. Well dark mage wasn't the perfect term for this situation. For Mary was a dark alter ego of a young woman, locked away inside the body of someone who was weak. But now Frederick had released her from her bounds she was free to walk the earth with that body. Well as long as she stayed at his side, his darkness was the only thing that kept her dark personality from being pushed back again.
She was probably wondering why they were here, and the answer to that was simple. In order for her to gain permanent control over that body of hers. She needed to make sure Frederick fulfilled his plans he had in store.

'Right now, other Savage Skull mages are causing havoc against the remaining mages who still dare to stand against this atrocity. All so that Tartarus can carry out their plans to destroy the Council and the Rune Knights. And when they are at each others throats, no one will be able to stop me! For I will use that dragons power, and take it for myself! And when I do, I will rise as the break of dawn and ascend into a being beyond their comprehension. I WILL BECOME A GOD!!'

As he spoke out those words he had his arms raised wide, as if he was embracing the concept of becoming a deity. As if it was the inevitable truth.

The more Marick spoke to the woman the more she seemed to smile, growing seemingly more malicious and insane. Well…I think we have a challenger for the number one craziest woman… he thought to himself, shuddering mentally as he thought about the current number one …perhaps not.

The dark mage was in hysterical laughter by now, but Marick remained undeterred. Instead he merely crossed his arms and waited. Patience was a virtue, and thankfully he’d been blessed with it…somewhat. After doubling up in laughter the woman finally began to calm down, before standing back to her feet and wiping away a tear before returning her own gaze back at Marick. "Hehehe.......All men are the same....haha......Always ready to fight someone without thinking. Now why would you want to fight me hotshot? Aren't all these demons worth your time?"  She clearly wasn’t as serious about this whole ordeal as he’d first thought, something that was certainly a useful piece of information that could prove useful.

Marick lowered his own head at this comment, chuckling to himself. ”Awfully judgemental aren’t you? You’re right, I am like many men in some senses, to the point that I often find myself rather disgusting.” He raised his head now to look Matabei directly in the eyes, confident in his resolve. ”But believe me, I don’t rush into battles. If I wanted to, I could completely ignore your existence and continue to fight these demons, but they’d keep flooding in constantly and I wouldn’t get to where I want to be…by getting you out of the way those demons will be dealt with in the process, and I can keep moving onwards. “ he responded in a casual, matter-of-factly tone. ”I know my goals for today. I know why I’m here…do you?” he continued, his head tilting slightly as he smirked back at his seemingly confident opponent. ”You are correct though, it would be rude to fight without knowing one anothers name. My name is Marick Lowell, otherwise known as Solitaire IX.  And you are?”

Although he was essentially exchanging niceties with an opponent, he knew the fight ahead would most likely be a tough one. She was a dark mage afterall, and no-one got into the dark ranks easily. He brought his right hand up and held his wrist in his left hand before rolling it. He’d need as much manoeuvrability in his hands as possible for this…and perhaps it was time to use an ability he’d not yet used in a fight…

Post by Knight 4th January 2014, 4:17 pm

Warden would stand very still, as chaos began to unfold before him. Death and desolation was widespread from Acnologia's Roar, but what was almost just as, if not more chaotic was the sudden scramble of light mages, Council Members, and Rune Knights that would enter the fray. "Sheesh, Acnologia, you might be getting a little rusty. Look at all the rats that managed to survive the blast," he would jokingly say to Acnologia. He would notice skywards that there was a particularly bright looking breeze flying through, around what appeared to be an ant. Wait, no, that was a person, and that breeze was magic. He would suddenly jump up, watching as the area where he'd been standing transformed into a demon lizard and morphed out of the ground, and would begin running off, to attack someone around his power level. As he would fling upwards, he would notice he had just not enough air, so he kicked his legs downwards, kicking off of the air, which formed yet another air demon underneath him, which whirled into a bird-like form, and flew off. He shot up once again, and would land his hand right against the face of Zack barring his progress. "A demon slayer, wow~!" he would say, his armor letting out a puff of gaseous pollution, "I wonder, why are you attacking a Dragon? Wouldn't you rather fight a demon like me? I can never understand the inner workings of the simple minds of slayers."

Warden's words piled out in rapid succession while the power struggle was very apparent, Zack's forehead and wind combo causing Warden's elbow to buckle slightly. Unfortunately for Zack, he would then remember that he was not only a Guild Master, but in fact the Guild Master that summoned and controlled the king of Dragons, and mustered up the strength to allow Zack some slack, and kneeing at him in the face almost simultaneously, using his hand holding him back as a distraction. A sudden explosion that hit Acnologia behind him would make Warden wince and roll his eyes a bit, as Acnologia quite literally did not appear to care, his flight note even put an inch in the wrong direction. Warden would flip in mid-air and shoot his feet outwards, slamming them into a rather large platform made of giant air demon. Landing on the ground after a short gliding period He would then notice that the magic council building was looking particularly fortified. "I see. That Harland fool has some tricks up his sleeve as well," he would say in his normal robotic voice, contemplating how he would take care of this attack. He would glance around for a moment, and think to himself, and then he would grin a bit, his magic power welling up. Warden would then begin letting his magic leak out, causing all the rubble within an area of 200 meters radius around himself to begin to form into demon structures, which began to float upwards, and turn into tiny little humanoid shapes.

Warden chuckled as they would all begin to fly into a single point and the rubble would form a giant golem-shaped swarm cloud of demons. Certainly they weren't worth much now, but he was definitely displaying a great show of power, as he now had two massive beasts on the battlefield, along with a couple of myriad demons he crafted by incident. Warden would laugh a bit, as he would begin to menacingly walk towards the magic council. This would finally give room for Acnologia to fly overhead and swoop over the Council building, the sonic boom knocking over any mage who wasn't at least A-Rank, and probably even then making them a bit unstable. Warden would chuckle a bit, then broke out into insane laughter. The only question now present in his mind was pertaining to the location of his Demons, the ones who held the title in Tartarus, which was enough of a question in his mind to calm him down a bit. "Maybe I picked a bad day for them," he would ponder in a strangely understanding tone out loud, "No matter. I'll just have to bathe in the blood of the Council twice as much for each of them."
