Dressed in a suit of ornate crystal armor that came from an anime show called Blade Of The Crystal Champion and was a reasonably accurate reproduction of the Crystal Champion's armor, Leonidas had chosen that outfit because he really liked the "knight in shining armor" aesthetic and it came in a size that fit him perfectly. He had not been able to buy the sword, though. He had put off costume shopping until the last minute and for some odd reason the store he had gotten the armor from did not stock the sword that went with the armor... not that he was upset by that. The sword would have had to stay at home because the crowds were so thick that he ran the risk of hitting someone if he turned around while carrying it because it was a large two-handed sword.
Even without the sword Leonidas was right at home with the other costumed festival attendees, who were too busy doing their own thing to call him out on a missing costume component. Everywhere the scar-faced mage looked he saw Halloween decorations such as black and orange banners hanging from lampposts and buildings, smiling jack-o-lanterns on doorsteps and lining the streets, paper skeletons taped onto the fronts of doors, and other appropriate decorations placed throughout the city. Decorations were not the only thing that caught Leonidas' attention, though.
He saw a lot of costumes that drew his eye. He saw quite a few people he believed to dressed as anime characters from "magical girl" series and "shonen" series that he did not know the name of. He also saw a few people in martial arts attire who might have been dressed as video game characters. In addition to anime and video game characters, Leonidas also saw more mundane costumes like pirates, fairy tale princes and princesses, a few doctors and nurses, and even a disturbingly good zombie costume worn by a young man who had expertly applied makeup in just the right colors on his face and arms that was almost a perfect match for the coloration of zombie skin.
After getting over the surprise of seeing the person wearing the zombie costume Leonidas continued to walk through Capital Crocus while looking at the decorations and the costumed people all around him. During his wandering he eventually spotted a large white sandwich board sign with orange letters that listed the various activities festival attendees could participate in. The scar-faced mage read the sign and saw that he had several options to choose from.
The activity that first caught his attention was the one called Witch's Brew. He would have to find out what that involved before he committed to doing it, but he was sure that he could find out once he got to the area the activity took place in. Leonidas looked at the sign one last time to learn the direction that he was supposed to go to get to the Witch's Brew area, then waited for the right time to join a crowd of costumed people heading in the direction of the activity. He was not sure if they too wanted to participate in the activity or were on the way to do something else, but he would follow the crowd until he got to his destination.
