Magic Name: Reptilian Subordination Magic
Magic Type: Lost Magic - Primary bonus +2 posts duration +15% mana cost
Summoning Magic - Auxiliary bonus - 2 summons active at once
Description: Subordination magic. Part summoning spell, part mind control technique, part possession technique, it is a magic locked away for good reason. Passed down from practitioner to practitioner in the dark, Human Subordination Magic is the most popular variant, for obvious and dark reasons. But other variants exist, each more esoteric and niche than the one before it. Through it all, one question peaked above them all: Could such a power be turned to cow even some of the strongest beings in the world? Could it be used to rule over dragons?
Well, why not?
Of course, Myriak has a long way to go before she can start twisting dragons to suit her needs. For now, their smaller reptilian cousins make for excellent practice, and for excellent tools to fight their way up in the world, by fang and claw and any other of the myriad tools the reptiles of the world have at their disposal. Only one question remains...how did they come by this power? It’s a mystery even to Myri.
Mechanically, Subordination Magic is a type of casting with two major aspects.
The first is domination. The user can extend their mental dominion against their target species subtly, manipulating them without them even being aware of it; or harshly, domesticating them and turning them into willing tools at the user’s disposal. Enemies can be persuaded to miss attacks without even being aware that they’re being influenced, or converted into puppets who obey the user’s orders without question. Of course, this ability only functions against the targeted species; against non-reptilian targets, this facet of the magic may as well be a slight breeze.
The second is transportation. The user can store things in a separate pocket dimension, later retrieving them when needed. This gives the magic flavors of summoning ability, though that isn’t technically what is happening like with true summoning magic. Usually this is reserved for the dominated creatures in question, but other small objects can be stored away as well.
Unique Abilities:
Favored of Dragons:
Bow before your ruler.
Even without actively casting, Myri exudes an aura of natural charisma that those of a more reptilian persuasion find hard to ignore. Reptiles of all kinds will find themselves hard-pressed to see her as anything less than a trusted companion, and may find it difficult to bring a weapon to bear against her. This also allows them to instinctively communicate with reptiles, sharing concepts and communicating with one another even if they can’t truly understand a lizard’s language.

Description: As a Subordination Magic user, Myri has access to a pocket dimension in which they can store their subjects. Recall is the act of storing objects/living things in the pocket dimension. Objects larger than a person cannot be stored, and said objects can’t be released with any force. Similarly, a living being must be willing in order to be stored within the pocket dimension.

Drac, my Drac...whatever would I do without you?
Rank: D
Grade: Normal
Linked Equipment: N/A
Melee Damage:
Summon HP:
Range:
Speed:
Duration: 5 posts
Downside:
Description: Zmei Drac, affectionately referred to as just Drac by Myri, is a member of a species of scavenger lizards normally found on the outskirts of the Cursed Lands. Known as Grave Lizards for their preference towards ripe corpses, they have jaws designed for crunching through weakened flesh and bone, plus some innate magic in them that can speed up decomposition with their breath. They are about the size of a large dog, with spines covering their body to dissuade attacks from others. If that fails, they also have a set of sharp claws and a nasty surprise in an acid-based projectile attack.
Drac himself was discovered on a moonlit night, as Myri was traveling eastward along the outskirts of the Lycan Wood. Drawn to her by her natural reptilian charisma, he bonded to his new master with the enthusiasm of a lost puppy, and the driven mage wasted no time putting him to work. He is Myri’s first subject of many, and his hidden potential is only outmatched by that of his master...- Drac Apperance:
- Drac Ability 1:
Name: Necrotizing Bite
Does it hurt, you think? Decomposing.
Rank: D
MP Cost:
Category:
Type:
Damage:
Range:
Speed:
Duration: Passive
Downside:
Description: The bite of a Grave Lizard has a bit of rotting magic to it, weakening the flesh and bone beneath in order to allow their normally average bite to apply with more force than expected. When Drac chomps down on anything, it’s structural integrity is weakened. This can take the strength out of an enemy’s limb, or even weaken the integrity of their weapons and armor with repeated strikes.
- Drac Ability 2:
Name: Corrosive Bile
A wall? Not for long.
Rank: D
MP Cost:
Category:
Type:
Damage:
Range:
Speed:
Duration: 5 posts
Downside:
Description: As a scavenger that prefers rotting corpses, Grave Lizards have to have very powerful stomach acids to protect themselves from bacteria. More surprisingly, the Grave Lizards have learned to weaponize this trait. When pressed, they can subvert some of the stomach acid into a projectile attack, using a biological process very similar to how a dragon releases a breath attack. This acid can damage opponents if coated sufficiently, but it’s real strength is in tackling inanimate objects, which the acid can eat through easily if not reinforced.
- Reptilia Raise:
- Name: Reptilia Raise
Isn't your life dull? Eat, feed, sleep. I can show you much, much more...all it takes is your loyalty.
Rank: D+
MP Cost:
Category:
Type:
Damage:
Range:
Speed:
Duration: Permanent (can be dispelled)
Downside: This spell has no effect on anything other than reptiles.
Description: The cornerstone of Subordination Magic, the Raise spell is a powerful domination spell that semi-permanently binds the target to the user’s will. They retain free will for the most part, but the user’s commands will be obeyed without question. Sapient targets can break free of this conditioning if ordered to act against their former companions, but otherwise hope of escape may be slim. Still, this act of magic is incredibly draining and difficult to perform, and creatures stronger than the user can easily resist. (Also this can’t/won’t be used on PCs or NPCs controlled by other players for any reason without permission, don’t wanna go there kthx)
