- STICKY SITUATIONSJob Title: Sticky Situations
Rank: 100y
Player Requirements: 30,000 words, any alignment, minimum of two S-rank mages
Job Requirements: Kill as many frogs as possible, don't get digested
Job Location: River Village
Job Description:
It's that time again. Love is in the air, and allergies run high. Mating season. During this time most creatures get a little rowdy. The giant frogs that populate the rivers of River Village are no exception to this rule. Normally, if you stay out of their way, they are no problem. However, during mating season these amphibians get a little bit more peckish than usual. With their normal source of food no longer sustaining them they search out the next best thing. Humans. And with their over population due to not having too many natural predators, there's a lot of them.
Due to this, River Village has sent out a job request to any and all who can help solve this problem. They're willing to pay a ton of jewels for you to take out a large chunk of the giant frog's population. Of course, with how many there are and how tough they can be, it's almost impossible to wipe them all out. But with these beasts, the village is thankful for even being able to take down one frog.
(Because the population can never run out, this job can be taken as many times as the players wish)
Enemies:
Giant Frogs: Coming in all different shapes, sizes, and patterns these towering frogs stand at least 20ft feet. Their skin is slimey, making them hard to grab on to. They're extremely tough, not even flinching at an H-rank mage's attack. It takes a lot to even take one of these out.
The frogs can jump extremely high, and are drawn to any source of food within a one mile radius.
Their tongues are long, much longer then a normal frog's. Extending up to a whopping 60ft long once they have you gripped there's almost no chance of escaping. It's almost like a separate limb. A sticky, slimey limb. If they have you in their mouth, that's pretty much it. Their strength combined with the sticky saliva it's basically impossible for you to break free by yourself. Only your friends have any chance of bringing you back home alive... Better have some pretty loyal friends.
Reward:
160k jewels

It was a rather gorgeous day. There was many things to enjoy about how nature was today. It was a picturesque day where people could enjoy thousands of activities, as long as it was weather permitting. To be completely honest, it was rather deceptive of how nice it was. The birds were flying high, which meant that they were probably to stay far from the ground. Most likely this was due to the season that this good weather came with. It was love season for most species around the River Village. It was kind of disgusting in all honesty, because basically everything was drowning within their own hormones. For gods sake, even the plant life was enjoying themselves as pollen is essentially reproductive fluid for plants. So, the air was filled with- No, that thought was forever going to remain a thought. The holy mage didn't need to gag so early in the morning. It wasn't even past sunrise and she was already hating the thoughts that her mind to dwell in. She somehow managed to stay up the whole night, just thinking about random thoughts until the crow of a rooster alarmed what should have been her slumber. Maybe she should have slept since she was going on a mission. Like at this very moment, she felt a deep regret every action she had taken to lead up towards this point.
Even for being rather early, the sun was high in the sky and it would beat down on the giant toads surrounding her and those who were on this mission with her. Apparently, scientists within the River Village had discovered that the mucus produced on the back of the toads had psychedelic properties when ingested so, she had assumed that most of her job partners would be smart and avoid doing things like licking the god damn toads. But no. She got partnered with one of the most inappropriate, unprofessional job partners she has ever gotten. And this person was a Wizard Saint as well, which makes the holy mage wonder what stature of grading did the Magic Council went by when deciding who got these spots. The brunette was prepared to go off on a tangent but there was already more than one Wizard Saint to rant about to no one in particular. But, the fox tailed mage in front of her was on a tree and was actually stripped of all her clothes based on recent developments. Oh, this sure was to be a treat. Yes, the Wizard Saint was actually under the influence of the aforementioned psychedelic effects of the toad and couldn't really function as a mage at this current moment in time, much less as a person in general. Once again, the Magic Council's choices on job partners astounds the holy mage. She honestly thought she had experienced the worst job partners yet, with a particular silver haired elf but nope. She had managed to top Astrid as someone the holy mage wondered why was so powerful but acted the way they did. It was much too early for this.
Oh, but the idiocy didn't stop there. Remember that dumb elf that Lilium loved to be around. The one that goes by the name Astrid? Yeah. She was on this mission too. She had to deal with her in addition to the woman named Aiyana. Astrid was in her own predicament and one had to wonder how a God of Ishgar got themselves into this situation. This was their country of Fiore's fail safe if the guilds could not defend them. So, why the f*ck was she wrapped in a tongue of a frog? Why? There was no proper answer that could describe the amount of disappointment that the former noble could feel for Astrid. Like, at this point, it was to be expected. But somehow, she managed to top her stupidity from the last time they met with every counter without fail. In fact, this entire situation felt similar to how Astrid got trapped in a net when they were on the job with her brother. Actually, the more she tried to remember, she could never what actually happened near the end of that job. She felt though Lucius threatened her but it seemed to abruptly end there. Oh well, now she could dwell on the time that Astrid was getting licked by a frog and she can't escape it's wet, sticky mouth. Yikes. In addition to having psychedelic properties, the mouth of the frog was extremely strong so Astrid probably could not physically escape the grasp of the creature. Especially with having no magic power left over. The magic power that she provided absolutely nothing with as it... to be completely honest, Lilium is somewhat curious to know what ludicrous thoughts go through the white dragon slayer's brain at some points in time, but she couldn't read minds.
Off in the distance, the holy mage heard a screech as she heard hopping in the distance. She placed her hands within her temple as she remembered. There was a third person in addition to herself on this job. She was also trying her best, but at this current moment in time, the Guild Master of Crystal Swan was being chased by one of the giant frogs. Honestly, with the idol's popularity, perhaps it meant that the frog was one of her fans. After all, she learned that there were monsters who were her fans. Desirée's fans were not limited by species clearly, so it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that the frog was also a fan. To be completely honest, unlike anyone else on this current job, Lilium didn't mind having the idol around but combined with all the other factors that were influencing this job, perhaps she'd prefer if she didn't take this job. There was too much going on and she sighed rather deeply. All these circumstances were giving her a headache in all honesty.
The holy mage felt a hand on her shoulder, pressing down somewhat out of assurance. She turned her annoyed gaze towards the Heroic Spirit with her, "I... don't know any words I can comfort you with at this point. Princess, you got a lot to deal with but... this takes the cake." The holy mage placed her face within both hands and screamed for a minute, as the heroic spirit rubbed her back reassuringly. She'd look up towards the horizon with a renewed vigor. She still didn't want to think about how she could help with each one of these special cases but, she really needed some money at the moment and this was the best legal method of acquiring it. She only had to kill a couple of frogs because they were terrorizing the village nearby. She was feeling far from good however.
In Arcadia, there was constantly a music playing but as Lilium summoned a bow, she heard the sound of a record scratching and then an awkward silence followed. Maybe an arrow was made with the needle of the record. Perhaps it would be better to explain how she gotten herself stuck in this situation. Heh.
Today started off rather nicely for the holy mage. She had spent the night prior at the village nearby and ate a good breakfast. She didn't know of the impeding doom that was destined to fall upon her the minute that she met up with her job partners. Traditionally, the holy mage felt as though, she had always been given the worst job partners that she could imagine but at this point, she felt like that she had dealt with them all. If only she knew, that things could always manage to get worse. The holy mage was humming a track that she heard playing recently as Arthur walked along next to her with her hands in her pockets. "You are in an oddly good mood, considering that you almost despise doing jobs with other people." Maybe the holy mage felt a renewed sense of pride when working with people after an encounter with a blonde swordsman, and perhaps was hoping they could work together on a job again. But that thought was in the back of her mind for the most part. For this, she mostly needed money and needed it rather quickly. It was a higher urgency for this job and it was rather high strength required to take it, when all you had to do was kill frogs. "Yeah, I don't know. I just have a good feeling about this one. It's like that I can deal with anything." Arthur raised his eyebrows in suspicion. It seemed like she just enjoyed jinxing herself. She didn't ever have good feelings so it seems like fate would work against her in order to make sure she has miserable. After all, when has she been ever had a good mood for that long.
The holy mage arrived at the designated meeting spot that the Magic Council had told the mages who accepted the job to congregate before the hunt started. It was still rather early but extremely bright out. The spot was a hill on a wide open plain, with the river nearby. One who was nearby could most likely hear all the sounds of nature from the birds, to the dragonflies that were zipping past. The holy mage took in a breath of air as a strong breeze blew by. Tucking her hair behind her air, the Wizard Saint would look around at the surrounding area as she was waiting for more mages to come. She didn't know what to expect but based on how many times she has worked with Astrid, she felt an omen that the elf was going to show up. She didn't even know if she was, but Lilium felt a bad feeling and those bad feelings were usually followed by the silver haired elf showing up. She was told that she was working a group of four so there was a high chance one of those people was the accursed elf. But, maybe she could pretend to be civil with Astrid. After all, she knows that Astrid probably wouldn't want to deal with her anyways. A tap on the shoulder snapped the Black Rose ace back to reality, "I'm going to go ahead and scout the area. Just wait here. I'm technically not a mage on this mission so..." Without missing a beat, Arthur would disappear in a flash as Lilium sighed. She was hoping that she could hide behind him in conversation again, but without him here, that might be harder. Ah well. She was good at pretending. Walking over to a nearby rock, the holy mage would dust it off before sitting and looking around, waiting for who she'd have to deal with for this endeavor.
