    Vesta Guildless D-Rank

Though she didn't really want to admit it, the young witch was quite lost. She did originally know where she was going, now she wasn't so sure anymore. She wasn't one to be so easily scared, but the forest she walked through was certainly unsettling and creepy. For comfort, her delicate hand gripped and rubbed the key that hung around her neck, to feel something familiar to her made her feel safer. It helped comfort her more considering that this was also the tool of which she used to summon the creatures from her cards. This place was rather eerie and unusually quiet, so this had to be the cursed lands, right? She wasn't so sure, but she couldn't just keep wandering around like a lost sheep, she was here on a job and she intended to do it. The brunette pulled off her necklace and held it out in front of herself, she chanted the words needed, a large glowing magical circle appearing beneath her feet as she did show. It lit up the surroundings, and no doubt caught the attention of anything within eye-shot of it. Slowly the key grew into it's long staff form, when it finished transforming she firmly grasped it and held it close to her chest.
From the pack on her back, she pulled out a large red book, unclasping it to reveal blank pages, with a twelve inch rectangular hole cut out in them for the cards. It was almost completely empty, most of the cards lost to who knows where, finding them was a quest for another day, now she needed to deal with these werewolves. She pulled out a card with the image of a large crane like bird on it, her green eyes gazed at it for a few moments before a twig snap pulled her out of it. She slammed the book closed and put it back, all the while constantly looking back and forth from her task and then to the shadowed woods where she heard the noise came from. Nothing, not that she could sense anyways, which wasn't saying much at all cause she was a rather low ranked mage. She knew it, and she hated it, so weak and so helpless, she needed to get stronger so she got protect and help herself. She didn't like being dependent on others, it played into the helpless child stereotype that almost everybody played her out to be.
Vesta did the minute, more or less, long ritual required to summon the creature from the card. Instead of appearing out in the area as a large bird, it just went directly into the staff, the wings of the head of it growing larger until both were about a couple feet in length. The ten year old climbed atop of it, and flew above the treetops, she scanned her surroundings. She got closer down to the tops of the trees to try and look from a safe distance, but it was to dense, so she went back in. Maneuvering through the woods at a slow pace as to not run into anything, cause that would be rather painful and she didn't have time for that.
But being the child that she was, she didn't have the attention span she always wanted to have. Her gaze was ripped away at the sound of something moving through the bushes, was it one of the werewolves? She didn't have much time to elaborate on those thoughts before running straight into a tree. The girl fell from her staff onto the ground with a thud, she groaned, upset she did just what she didn't want to do. She wasn't any closer to finding out where she was, thus couldn't figure out where she needed to go. She just had a floating winged staff and bruised, scratched forehead.
