    Job Information:

After successfully completing the mission to collect data on a magical flower, located in the Wakusei Portals, Poko took her reward and ditched Mer, not even turning to wave goodbye. Poko finally felt able to breathe again, free from having to communicate with someone other than Zephyr. A few days past before Poko felt it was necessary to take on another job to help sustain both Zephyr and herself. She waited till it was close to midnight before she made her way out of the forest and towards the bounty board in a nearby town, wanting to avoid people as much as possible. She glanced over all the possible choices, most seemed like a huge hassle for little reward. Her eyes glowed red in frustration as she tried to find something suitable, that’s when her eyes danced over a request, it sounded simple enough. They just wanted someone to cook for them, Poko could deal with that, she didn't understand why it was rated C by the requester for something so simple but she guessed she could deal with having a partner as long as they were quiet while they cooked, especially for such a decent amount of jewels. That would keep her and Zephyr fed and happy for quite a while.

It had been a decent voyage to get here but she finally found herself outside the home of the one who called herself Izayuki. 'What a weird place to choose to live.' Poko thought to herself, thinking nothing else of it. Zephyr however, seemed a little worried about the location and had been on edge since they arrived in the area. She stood at the door about to knock as she felt a familiar magical presence nearby, she whisked around to see bright red hair she recognised only far too well. 'Seriously…?' Poko sighed, her face falling and eyes turning green in annoyance, 'Do I really have to deal with this, AGAIN!?!'. Poko both looked and felt exasperated as she watched the girl drawing nearer. Zephyr on the other hand was relieved to see the face of the red-haired maiden again, he didn’t like this place one bit, but having someone familiar around made him feel a bit more at ease. Zephyr skittered over towards Mer, a happy expression plastered on his face, while Poko's reflected quite the opposite.

Mer was having a lovely day and decided it would finally be time for her to join a job. As Mer looked at the boards she saw a job that seemed pretty simple. It was just a job that dealt with cooking. Mer had done plenty of cooking within the forest and thought it would be a nice time to test her skills in a job to impress the employer. It was in the Sea of Devils though, which was quite worrying. Mer went to the port to try and find a boat going straight to the island. Seemed like there was only one ship and it seemed pretty unusual. It was extremely dull unlike the shinier ships and it also had a weird old man looking out towards the people. Mer didn't care though since she wanted to just experience the world, and if that meant riding on a sketchy ship with a creepy old man it just meant there was more adventure.

As the ship docked Mer seemed unsatisfied by the little events that happened on the dull ship. The only other passenger had ignored her and made Mer feel sad. She found a pathway that looked very unusual with weird oil lamps. Mer could smell them burning from it and clearly could tell that something was strange about them. The whole place felt unusual until she saw something familiar. It had seemed to be Zephyr and he was flying right towards her. As she held out her arms she hugged him and let him rest in her cradling arms. As she kept him warm she asked him, "So Zephy, is your owner here?" As she said that she looked up to find a pretty awkwardly anxious blond girl. Mer then smiled at Poko as Mer said, "Wow, this is such a coincidence. I can't believe you picked the same job-"

Just then Mer had been cut off by a booming voice from their client that said, "Ah hah, I see that my job request has been sent out. Now you two lovely girls are here for me. Well, you pieces of dirt you have one hour. Cook me a 5 course or you will become my dinner. Impress me and maybe I'll let you go free with a nice reward. If not...I guess we'll just have to see."

With a loud bang, Iza kicked both Mer and Poko out of the yard of her house. When Mer fell to the ground, she said with a perky voice, "Welp I guess we just have to hurry up. The more threats just mean more adventure. So let's get onto this, shall we?" When she stood up she looked onto the ground and saw some sort of list. It seemed to have ingredients on them. They didn't seem to have any recipes, just ingredients. It seemed like the recipes would have to come from them. On the back of the list was a map that had a few islands surrounding the one they were on. They were X's on each one that had different colors that maybe symbolized what ingredient was on them.

With this information, Mer informed Poko about it and said, "Welp lets get to it. My parents didn't make me leave them in the mystical never-ending forest just to sit around. So chop-chop."

'I guess we'll just have to hurry up'? Poko looked quizzically at Mer 'chop-chop'? There was something seriously wrong with this girl. Poko gritted her teeth, seething her eyes matching the scarlet of Mer's hair as she snatched the paper away without responding. She looked for the closest mark on the map and began heading in what she assumed was the correct location, her blonde locks flowing behind her. 'Stupid, I knew that high reward was too good to be true.' Poko grumbled to herself. She didn't have to walk far before she came across a herd of griffins. Poko looked them over, carefully considering her strategy. They only had an hour... FOR FIVE COURSES!?! She didn't have time to dilly dally over getting these damn ingredients, and who even forces their cook to gather everything!?! As these angry thoughts swam through her mind, she knew she only had one choice, she took a deep breath and began the ritual.

"Hold it together, birds of a feather, nothing but lies and crooked wings. Oh. Fly over me evil angel. Open your wings evil angel." She chanted as sweetly as she could, bringing forth a small rumble and then...

    *POOF*

Before Poko now stood an angelic being, with dark, dirty wings and a black, tattered dress. Her red eyes glimmered as she noticed Poko's eyes matched her own, which caused a smile to draw upon her lips. "What shall it be today master? Do I finally get the privilege of slaughtering all your enemies again?" she sneered in an attempt to make Poko even more furious.

"Shut up Xiolan, I don't have time for your sick games." Poko responded, as soon as the words left Poko's lips, Xiolan was unable to make another sound come from hers. The fallen angel put one hand on her hip and glared menacingly at her master, outraged that she was no longer able to talk back.

Poko simply ignored her obvious hints and pointed towards the Griffin in the field in front of them. "Defeat them," Poko commanded, an evil glint shone in Xiolan's eyes but before she could take off, Poko added, "But don't kill them." Xiolan rolled her eyes, looking bored now, perhaps even a little sad, as she bowed mockingly at Poko, always the 'no killing' rule with her current master.

The angel did as she was commanded though and took off towards the nearest Griffin; it noticed her flying towards itself all too late, taking the full blow of the Angel’s powerful attack, knocking it unconscious. Xiolan then turned to face her next target, but now the rest of the heard was aware of what was happening and were preparing to defend themselves, even attempting to heal their fallen comrade.  She let out a noiseless sigh as she turned to look at Poko who was already preparing the air around her summoned creature.

"Winds of war!" Poko yelled and Xiolan felt her body grow faster and stronger; oh the feeling of power was so damn good. The dirty winged angel flew at the second target, hitting it with full force and power, another knock out. Only two more left. Xiolan went to turn where they had been but they were gone, she looked up but was too late, they had already flown up and one was already charging down towards her location. The angel gritted her teeth and folded her wings in front of her face, preparing for the strike. She felt the beak and talons rip at her feathered wings, now tarnished red with blood. She cursed silently at herself for not watching properly, she went to counter attack, but Poko had already sent an Air Blast directly at its location, not enough to knock it out but enough to daze it give enough time for Xiolan to strike a weak point and force the beast unconscious.

Poko noticed Xiolan's wounds and began summoning the air around the angel to heal the blood stained wings. Xiolan simply glanced in Poko's direction, waving her off, to hint that she should save her magical energy for a more important time. Besides Xiolan knew once she was done here she would return to the darkness and heal before the next summoning anyway. She could never truly die. Poko saw the hand gesture and stopped herself from healing spell, disappointed the Angel never really appreciated her help. During this time however the last griffin took it’s opportunity at the distracted targets to charge down from the sky and dive Poko. The blonde maiden was too slow in noticing, all she could do was raise her arms up to protect her face. Xiolan however, moved swiftly with the breeze Poko had created around her earlier, making it just in time to block the attack, her wings forming a shield around Poko. Xiolan gave Poko one last look of disapproval before disappearing completely from sight, falling back into the darkness.

Poko gritted her teeth, facing the last griffin, she didn't have time to consider Xiolan's look of disappointment right now, but she was sure she was going to get a mouthful the next time she summoned her. Poko formed another condensed ball of air around her right fist before sending it flying towards the nearby griffin, knowing it wasn’t going to be enough to completely knock it out; she completed a round house kick at the dazed creatures head. Once it was knocked out she looked around and saw a bundle of eggs and milk lying near the first griffin Xiolan had taken out.

She approached the ingredients, picking them up, thankful that the eggs still seemed to be intact. She looked around for Zephyr, then remembered he had been following Mer, she scowled at the thought as she walked back towards the house, she needed to get started with this cooking, she had already wasted enough time, there was no way they could make a 5 course meal within an hour, it was simply impossible.

Please... No... [Job with Mer] Empty Re: Please... No... [Job with Mer]

Post by Silvia 24th March 2018, 1:09 pm

Poko had seemed angry with Mer so she just frowned and walked away with Mer. Mer was saddened by the fact that she made her friend angry. Mer didn't know what was wrong with her. She wanted adventure and excitement, then she found Poko. The most beautiful girl she had ever met and now she was mad at her. Mer just pouted and kept walking, hoping to find some sort of ingredients. As she felt the nuzzle of Zephyr in her arms, she said, "Oh...you're still here. Aren't you going back to Poko."

With that question, he just seemed to shrug it off and continue in the arms of Mer. As Mer continued along the path she started to see that things were starting to get greener and things started to become more sparkly and aesthetic. The leaves of plants started to become bigger and greener as they glowed from the little ponds that laid behind them. They sparkled with the dewdrops of the rain as though this place was a rainforest itself. Mer then came to a complete stop as she heard giggles coming from in front of her. As she stomped down her foot, the giggles became more and more vibrant as they started to make Mer paranoid.

Looking around started to scare Mer as she wondered if the giggling ever stopped. As rustles in the tree were heard Mer looked around to see tiny sparkles in the sky. They seemed to be small woodland fairies. They glowed blue which was weird to Mer until they all came together and formed a wall with themselves. Once they were pointing their wands straight towards Mer, they unleashed a huge wave that went straight for Mer. As she ran she found a tree that she could hide behind. Then when she leaned back on it, it seemed to be an illusion that Mer was tricked into hiding behind.

They then surrounded Mer but she was not going to be pushed over like that. As they surrounded her the rune on her head glowed as she felt the pulsating light coming from her back. As a rune fell into her hands, 2 celestial shells of butterfly wings formed as she jumped up into the air. As she looked down at the fairies her wings started to vibrate as they glowed with a brilliant purple. As they fluttered a gust of wind came down as multiple gales of air came down towards the butterfly. In 1 hit a few of them lost their glow but Mer still could tell they were alive. Knowing there was many more Mer shot multiple shots of air towards them, knocking more and more down. They just seemed to keep multiplying which was an extreme problem. Mer did not know how to get past them without fighting even more and it made her worried about how many more were to come.

With so many thoughts in her head, Mer couldn't focus and she felt 3 stabs to the back as she saw 3 beams hit her from behind. As she started to plummet down she felt mass pain in her back as more beams hit her. When she looked up towards Zephyr she remembered how she only went out so she could live an actual life. If she died now she would've wasted all that pain and heartache for nothing. Using the air she got from plummeting straight first, allowed Mer to create a current with the winds that allowed her to propel in a circle. As she went into the circle many beams tried to hit her but yet they missed and went straight to the other fairies. Luckily for her, her wings were big enough to knock fairies away and into more fairies as they cleared a view for her. Looking around for the ingredients, she saw a huge basket of them in the middle of what seemed to be the hive of the fairies.

Although Mer didn't want to do this, she knew she had to so she pushed her feet off from a bunch of the little fairies and flew straight towards the basket. When she touched the handle of the basket she fluttered upwards and called to Zephyr. As he flew into her arms, she flew away as fast as she could to where she could see the other island in sight.

As she departed on the island, the other fairies from before seemed to back away as though there was an invisible force stopping them from getting to the island. With a loud breath of relief, Mer sighed as she saw a sign. Since Mer knew Poko wasn't on the island yet, she used the rune in her hands to carve out a message on the blank wooden sign. The message Mer carved out had said, "I will be at the outdoor kitchen cooking. If you want just leave the ingredients with me I can cook by myself. Trust me on this one."

After Mer had written the message, she moved to the outdoor kitchen. It was beautiful with so many cooking supplies, it amazed Mer with a bunch of awe. She had never seen so many cooking tools in her lifetime, but she had read about them. Being trapped in a forest all her life allowed her to read, which helped with things such as cooking, or human emotions. It was her time to shine and her time to impress Poko. As the butterfly rune in her hands disappeared she felt her head glow as the rune of the monkey slowly pulsed on her lower waist. As the rune fell into her hands, she felt a newly formed celestial tell shell form on her lower waist.

As her tail formed she popped them into 8 and sent them all to work. One of her tails went to go get water for the soup while her other tails chopped up some vegetables. These vegetables included carrots, green onions, onions, and more. Two of her tails were heating up the water as they found, luckily, some spices to put in it. Her other tails were working on some salads She, on the other hand, was working on some appetizers. She saw that there was a fryer and remembered a beautiful recipe made out of onions and batter that created a beautiful flower-like appetizer when cut right. Mer was lucky she had some other tails or she would've completely forgotten about the salad she was supposed to make for the meal. She decided to make it some sort of fruit salad just to lighten up the meal.

It had been 20 minutes and Poko had still not yet come back but yet Mer had been able to create a beautiful serving of 3 courses in her 5-course meal. For the first meal, was a french onion soup in a little cup that smelled delicious. She had somehow managed to create the magnificent cactus flower made out of fried onions as she topped it off with an actual flower at the top. With the final course, she made a fruit salad with many vibrant and rich fruits. As she looked at it she realized she forgot one thing on it. With one squeeze, she spread lemon juice over it, but didn't but too much to overtake the deliciousness.

Mer had finally been done with her stuff and only waited for the lovely Poko to come. Before she came Mer had taken a fruit and ate it as she snuggled up with Zephyr.

Post by Pokomon 24th March 2018, 4:24 pm

Poko reread the message carved into the creaking, wooden sign; "I will be at the outdoor kitchen cooking. If you want just leave the ingredients with me I can cook by myself. Trust me on this one."

'Trust me on this one.' The words echoed through Poko's mind, there was no way she'd leave the results of this mission up to that red-headed, giggling child. She might have been useful on the previous mission with her fighting abilities but that didn't mean squat when it came to cooking. Poko made her way to the outdoor kitchen, too much time had already been wasted on fighting, she needed to get started, but as she reached the outskirts of the location her eyes changed to a dark purple as she was left in awe at the sight of Mer and her multiple tails hard at work. Poko realised her mouth was gaping and quickly closed it, blinking and turning away, hiding behind a nearby rock, but peering from behind as she watched Mer work. She couldn't help but be impressed though as the scent of food wafted over towards her, it all smelt so amazing.

Poko was still hiding there shocked as Mer finished three of the courses, she shook her head out of her trance, forcing herself to leave her hiding location and silently approached the kitchen before she placed the eggs and milk down near Mer, who was now eating a piece of fruit. "You can use these, if you still need." Poko muttered, refusing to make eye contact with Mer.  'How was she so good at this?' Poko glanced over at the red-haired maiden with envy, her purple eyes turning a dark shade of forest green. Poko wanted to be useful, she really did, but honestly, she didn’t see how she could be. Her and Zephyr pretty much lived off raw foods, except those they bought, her cooking abilities pretty much limited to roasting single ingredients over an open flame.

Poko spied Zephyr, resting upon Mer’s shoulder; he seemed to be enjoying himself. 'I guess if Zeph has taken a liking to her, she can't be that bad...' Poko decided to herself, she strolled closer to Mer but was careful not to crash into anything, not wanting to accidentally destroy any of Mer's culinary creations. 'Looks like we're going to complete this five course meal in time after all' Poko sghed to herself as she felt slightly relieved.

"Is there anything I can do to help? I can't really cook so getting these ingredients is pretty much the best I can do." Poko sighed in defeat, glancing over at Mer, but refusing to make eye contact. There were still two meals to prepare before the end of the hour, Poko knew there was no way she could make something as spectacular as Mer's meals, she would need to rely on her to complete this mission, even though it pained her to admit it.

Post by Silvia 24th March 2018, 5:07 pm

As Mer was eating the strawberry in her mouth, she saw Poko come out with a basket of food. It had seemed to be filled with eggs and milk which was perfect. Mer had the best idea for both of those items that made her extremely happy. Before she went to thinking she asked Poko to try and memorize how everything was made in order for them to get on the good side of the client. Mer made sure to inform Poko of everything before she went into a deep thought. It had only taken her around 3 minutes for her to think up all the things she needed. As she grabbed the eggs she also grabbed a bunch of other vegetables and got her tails at the ready. Almost forgetting the milk she used one of her tails to move straight towards the milk and grab it for her. In almost an instant she had gotten the eggs mixed together along with vegetables to go straight into them. As she took out a container that seemed to be made for pies, she dumbed her mixture into there. She had remembered learning about this recipe for some sort of egg loaf thing that she was actually able to try due to the simple ingredients it needed. As she put the mixture in the oven she went straight to the desert and thought of making a Lemon Cream dessert that would look very aesthetic to the yellowish theme. As Mer got to work she used her celestial tail for a whisk(its clean don't worry) as it swirled around milk and butter to turn it into a heavy cream. As she did this her tails grated a few lemons while squeezing out lemon juice into a bowl next to it. As the solution mixed around, she dumped it into the cream as she began to fold it multiple times. As she did this the heavy cream turned into whipped cream as Mer was already ready with a frosting bag. She had the idea to put it on the fruit salad and make it a dish of its own by creating a swirl in a wine glass. When she was finished she went straight to the egg loaf which turned out beautiful. With all her tails she cut the loaf into squares as fast as she could. Once she had finished she took them out and started to create some sort of project. She took all the squares and stacked them on top of each other in order to create a skyscraper out of the pieces. As she put all the items on a tray she gave it to Poko and asked her to bring it inside and serve it to the client as well as talk about each meal.

Post by Pokomon 24th March 2018, 6:08 pm

Poko observed Mer’s cooking techniques, furiously scribbling down notes with a pen and notebook she usually kept in her messenger bag. It was pretty difficult keeping up with what was happening with both dishes as Mer’s tails flew around doing so much at once, but somehow Poko managed. Taking a deep breath and putting the notebook and pen on the counter when Mer was done the with finishing touches. Poko felt her hands ache from writing so much so quickly, but did as she was asked and picked up the tray full of food carefully, occasionally using her wind magic around her to ensure nothing spilt. She made her way to what appeared to be a dining area and placed the tray carefully on the table, placing the first dish of the five course meal in front of their customer, who looked a little shocked in all honesty that they had managed to complete such a difficult task well within the time limit.

"I guess you pieces of trash have done a decent job so far, but the real test is still to come." The client said rudely to the two girls waiting for her to taste it. Poko’s mind was suddenly filled with doubt, sure it smelled and looked amazing, but that didn’t necessarily mean it tasted good and it’s not like either of them at trialled anything before serving it, even if they wanted to there wouldn’t have been time. She watched as Iza carefully brought the first scoop of soup to her mouth, slurping it and swishing it around her mouth. "Adequate." The lady declared before demanding the next course before even eating the rest of the current one. This process repeated itself for each course and when they were finally done serving the dessert Iza looked at both the young girls. "It seems you weren’t the disappointment I was expecting so you can have your reward and be on your way."

Poko released a long sigh, not even realising she'd been holding her breath this whole time, scared the client might strike out at any moment. She graciously took her share of the jewels, smiling at Iza, not wanting to offend or upset her before quickly leaving, in case Iza changed her mind. It wasn't till she was waiting at the shoreline for the next ship to come that she realised she'd left Zephyr behind. 'Crap.' Poko thought to herself, turning around only to see America and Zephyr racing towards her. 'Great…' Poko sighed, realising she was probably going to have to spend a whole ship ride with this girl now.
