Surprise! BANG! These spiders creep up behind you and jump at you. Be warned, they deal 10% damage, and explode the second they're within slashing distance. You're gonna need at least a D ranked distance spell to not get slammed. Oh, and they're wicked fast.

1x Normal:Demolition Slave
These fellows take 5 C rank hits to go down, and will throw dynamite at you. They're not too bright, so more likely they'll run at you with a chest full of boom sticks.

2x Strong:Mine Field
You've come across a very well placed field of land mines! They're super sensitive and will go off if someone is within 15 meters of it. A single explosion will set off the rest of them, which will deal A ranked damage to you. There's also 20 mines, so good luck...

Boss:Demolitions Expert
As it turns out, he's more than an expert... Explosions are his primary magic. He can cause the air around you to explode dealing B ranked damage. It will take 10 hits of B ranked damage to put him down. After you defeat him, roll a damage dice. If you miss then that means your character didn't kill him.

'Monster Dice' :

Gangting rode into a large road that guided him into Crocus, the capital of Fiore. This is - smaller as expected, thought the redhead giant. It's nothing compared to Duoshang. He wanted to ride through the gate, but he was stopped by the guards. "Halt! Inspection!" Shouted a Sergeant, he had his shield leaning against the wall and held his spear in both hands. They are a bit nervous, reflected Gangting, he stopped his chariot. "I don't have any goods with me, so why stop me."Asked Ganging. "There are terrorist attacks within the city, we are looking for capable warriors to take him down. The rune knights couldn't get him, they know his lair thought." Said the sergeant. "I take the job, where is his lair?" Said Gangting without even knowing the reward. The soldier looked puzzled. "Eh," He grabbed a paper, "this is all you need." Gangting nodded and rode through the gate. First I need myself a beer or three. Thought Gangting.

Sigurd had been sitting in the bar for quite some time now, and was getting impatient. He was clad in his full dark armor, and had been going by the name of "Darknight" for the duration of him staying in the town. He had to swing by Crocus to pick something up and a storm had ended up hitting, meaning he was stranded there until today. He had been quite irate, and was simply looking for something to eat, but it had been several hours since he had ordered his food and it hadn't come out yet. "Excuse me sir, but I would most definitely like my sandwich as soon as possible."

"It'll get to you when it gets to you, freak," responded the bar tender.

Such words would usually illicit a stronger response from the young mage, but he was too hungry to be picking a fight right now. So he just sighed and continued waiting by the bar, unaware of the events that would take place later that day, or the redheaded giant who was about to walk through the doors of the establishment.

"Can you read that?" asked the giant.

Sigurd sighed, and then looked at the man... he had to... look up? That's new. Sigurd was not short, and in fact, rarely ever had to look up to anyone. The redhead, however, was larger than him in every dimension. Breaking free from his shock, he took a look at the paper the man was holding out, and began to read it over. His eyes behind his mask began to widen as he saw the jewel reward. He looked up at the giant,

"It seems there's some kind of 'demolitions expert' somewhere in a mine here in Crocus that's been causing trouble. Whoever posted this job advert was looking for a mage to deal with the villain. May I ask though, are you skilled with magic? I'm simply passing through town,but I have certain skills that may come in handy if you'd allow me to tag along. It says the reward is 20k per person, so you wouldn't be getting paid any less. Truth be told I've been looking for some more cash recently. What say you--- pardon me, I don't think I know your name. I am Darknight, superhero, Defender of the Void," said Sigurd, extending a gauntlet to the giant man. He had hoped that there would be another job he could do at some point. After his visit to Beanstalk he had been getting antsy for more action, and would be excited to get some more practice in on this supposed demolition man.

Gangting listened to what the warrior said, and thought for a short moment. He peered through the eye holes of the helmet, into the darkness where supposedly two eyes where. "I suppose you can join," Said Gangting while shaking the extended metal arm, "My name is Gangting, king of Duoshang. What is the superhero?" Gangting tried to study the man next to him but the attempt was futile, the darkened armour gave not much away. Only the helmet did since he carried it inside the inn. He wishes to keep his identity hidden, observed Gangting. 

"Get my friend here a pint as well." Said Gangting to the innkeeper. Hoping that Darknight would have to remove his helmet to drink, revealing his face. He grabbed his purse and threw some jewels on the bar in payment for the innkeeper. He didn't want to spend much longer here.


"I'm an Earth Demon Slayer, " said Gangting, in a low voice, "what type of magic do you use? Or are you a soldier." Gangting thought it was crucial to know those that he worked with if it was necessary only how they fought. Lives depended on such things in most chases.

Sigurd, although he had received a very high-end formal education, hand never heard of Duoshang. He knew better than to ask, however, as whenever he would inquire into others' personal affairs it only meant that he was opening the door for them to pry into his own. The one thing that really caught his ear, however, was the fact that Gangting claimed to be a king of whatever country this was. Based on his elaborate dressing style and his mighty presence, it did not seem too farfetched an idea, but still, it was rather imposing to be sitting in front of true royalty. Sure he had grown up amongst the upper class, but a foreign king was something else. But, again, Sigurd refrained from asking anything about his kingdom, for he would rather not receive any similar questions concerning his own lineage. He graciously accepted the mead, and it seemed that his relation to the giant man had shaken the bartender into speeding up the delivery of his sandwich. He detached the teeth from his helmet, and began to eat at a moderately brisk pace, eventually pausing to respond to his new partner's questions. "It's rather intimidating to be sitting so close to a slayer. I've heard about that particular brand of lost magic from books, but never have I seen one in real life, so pardon me if I say anything out of line. To answer your question about superheroes, I suppose the best explanation I could give is to say that we're mages who use our powers to expressly help others. I don't usually tell people this, but since we're working together, I'll admit it. My magic is that of summoning. I can summon other superheroes to take down opponents. I mostly act as a general and command them, but that doesn't mean my swordsmanship is any less sharp than your typical warrior. I'm sure as a King you can understand that distinction."

Gangting frowned and thought, I've never met a slayer too., but he didn't say that to the seemingly young lad. "Don't be afraid to say anything out of line," He scratched his neck, I've no sovereignty over anyone anymore.
"Superheroes help people?" Said Gangting solemnly, "Then I'm a superhero too? I've saved thousands of my people from demons and peril" He thought back to his pledge to Tudigong where he vouched to keep the mountain tribes safe from any dangers.
"Ha!" Bellowed Gangting out, and threw one of his arms around Darknight. "You're a general! Great, and of course I know what you speak about. We should share our tales of battle! I've won a great deal of battle's you know! My armies numbered in the thousands." Said Gangting in excitement. "But do know, I won't accept any orders from you," Gangting squinted his eye's when he said that, "We should make an alliance pact." Gangting stretched his hand out. "Let's get this job done and cover each other, no matter if the odds are against us!" Gangting stared through the black eye slits, hoping to catch a glimpse of Darknights eyes.

He would catch the glint of Sigurd's eyes through the helmet, likely the first glimpse of actual humanity behind the skull shaped mask, other than his mouth, which he had revealed prior. He seems like a nice enough person, and it wouldn't hurt to be on the good side of someone that strong, an alliance should be a good investment. Besides, perhaps someone of his level is part of a guild, in which case this could be a great investment, thought Sigurd. "Hmhm, if it's an alliance you want, I'd be happy to oblige, King Gangting. I'm sure with our combined strengths we'll forge great battles together," he said, extending his hand to seal the deal. Afterwards he began to rise from his chair, preparing to leave the building. It didn't seem as though there was much left for him to do there in the bar, and he figured it was about time to deal with this "demolitions expert."

"If you don't mind, I believe we should head to the mine now. It's been a while but I remember being in this town a couple times before. I know where it is," realizing he sounded someone commanding, he let out a light laugh to show he meant no ill will, "Don't worry, I have no intention of ordering you around, I'm just getting antsy for a fight."

"Haha, Gangting is fine."

Gangting wove away Darknight's comment and followed him to the mine.

"Odd that they place a mine within their city," noted Gangting once they were at the location. The entrance to the mine was guarded with a large contingent of spearmen and a handful of Runeknights. "We are going to do your jobs." Shouted Gangting to the Runeknights, so far he didn't have a high respect for them. They didn't seem capable of doing anything at all.

Gangting saw a cash of torches near the entrance and took some with him. He ignited one and turned to Darknight. "It might be smart if you take some with you as well." Then he walked into the tunnel. They walked for a long time down the tunnel, sinking deeper into the ground as time went on. until the tunnel turned into a large hall, there were piles of rocks and mining equipment.

Gangting felled a small vibration in the ground, "Watch it, there is movement ahead." Gangting threw the torch before them. And out of the shadow jumped a mechanical spider. Gangting bellowed out "Earth Demon's Bellow!" And the ethernano and earth from his surrounding were sucked into his mouth and released into a stream of the blessed earth. The stream hit the spider and it exploded in the middle of the air. A second was coming.

“I suppose it is strange for there to be a mine within city limits, but it is in one of the sleepier districts, so I suppose, as long as the noise and smell can be contained with some form of magic, it’s rather useful to have the raw materials so readily available for workers and industries in town,” he noted, but as they approached the rune knights, he kept himself silent. Between the two tall and intimidating mages, it seemed they weren’t entirely keen on trying to return Gangting’s jab at their competency.

When they went in, Sigurd nodded as he was informed it may be a good idea for him to grab a torch. He did so, and, lighting it, followed a couple feet behind the King of Duoshang, descending deeper into the darkness, footsteps echoing through the cavern. Eventually, after quite a bit of walking, the walls opened up to reveal piles of rocks and mining equipment strewn about, likely left behind after the miners evacuated. Signs of struggle were present, and Sigurd put together that they must have been from Rune Knights who had taken on this job before them. True to form, there was evidence of explosive devices having been used in the struggles. Suddenly, Sigurd heard an explosion, turning, he saw that Gangting had fired an attack, and his target had detonated upon impact. Just a few meters away, another enemy, which appeared to be a mechanical spider, was preparing to launch itself at the slayer. Time to prove that I can pull my weight, thought Sigurd, raising his finger to point just a few feet away. “Come, Birdman, Defender of the Skies!” he shouted, and from a dark portal emerged the winged hero.

In an instant, Sigurd had communicated the distress to his summon, and, recognizing the move his master was attempting to pull, the Defender of the Skies, sped over and flapped his wings towards the crab, firing razor sharp quills. Having gotten closer, however, Birdman noticed a glint in the darkness, and warned his master telepathically that there may be more explosive creatures about to strike. Just as he was thinking this, one leapt up and latched onto him, exploding, and sending him flying back towards Sigurd and Gangting, landing on the ground.

“Damn, watch out Gangting, I think there might be one left!” warned Darknight.
