Chili stretched his arms a bit as he walked. This was not where he had expected to end up at the start of the week. He had been on his way to a destination of choice when he had caught wind of a call from the council asking for assistance in controlling the recent monster disturbances. Leaving his venture for later Chili had decided to change course and headed for the Cursed Lands. Unaware of who exactly would be there Chili had no idea whom he may run into while taking this call from the council. That hadn't stopped him though as he had made it to the Cursed Lands yesterday and more specifically he had just made it to Fat Monster Land a few hours ago after a short nap. Not sure what to do from here though Chili paused for a second after stretching his arms and glanced at the sky. It was still a little early in the morning, eight a.m. at best. Feeling his stomach grumble Chili decided that now would be a good time to have breakfast. Luckily he was prepared for traveling since he had been planning on doing so for a few more days than it took him to get here. Opening his pack Chili sat down on a rock underneath a tree and took out a small twenty-two by fifteen by twelve cubic centimeter tin container with tin foil on top. Then taking out a metal spoon, Chili set it down on the ground on top of the tin container that was next to his pack for a second Chili did the required hand signs to enter Hellfire mode.
His hands igniting on fire with the activation of the mode, Chili controlled the temperature of the fire as he picked up the tin rectangular box. Putting one flaming hand on the bottom and one on the top Chili waited for ten minutes keeping his hands at a temperature of two-hundred and sixty degrees celsius till his food was ready. Cooling the flames as to not melt the spoon as he picked it up, Chili removed the tin foil top to reveal an already made dish of pasta, tomato sauce, and grill cooked meat balls. Having made a huge batch and put a serving in each tin container gave Chili multiple meals to carry with him at a time. Yeah, they were all mostly oat meal, rice mixed with soy sauce, peas, and carrots, spaghetti. He could chill them with his ice mode and reheat them with his hellfire it seemed like the thing to do.
Starting to eat, slowly chewing each bite, Chili let his mind wander. "So the place is called Fat Monster Land, huh sounds like that level out of that 2-D scrolling game where you go to the place where all the monsters are giant. Though her I could be eaten rather than lose a life to a giant turtle shell here. Hmm, I wonder if I will have to fight a giant turtle that could be a "shell" of a time, hehe. Although if it was clean meat I could maybe make myself some turtle soup for later."
Coming out of his thoughts when he heard a branch break to his left Chili turned his gaze in the direction of the noise. In an instant, a raccoon with glider like wings its arms came figurtivley flying out of a bush and snatched what was remaining of Chili's food, which was about half way gone now. In one swift fluid motion, Chili had zipped his pack, lifted it up over his shoulder, stood up, and was now chasing off the raccoon. Who was now running on two legs, holding Chili's food above it'ss head like some kind of trophy as it went.
"Why out of everything to happen in the place named after fat monsters does a funny looking raccoon creature gotta steal my meal!" Chili both annoyingly and humorously thought as he charged behind the creature. The little thing hopped over a rock as it ran, Chili simply stepped over it as he continued after it now only a meter behind it. The raccoon tried losing him by zig zagging in between a few trees but CHili was not even fazed by the maneuver and was closing the small gap. Chili let his flames go full heat as he finaly was a foot behind the thing and dove for it. Breaking out of the tree line as he dove Chili didn't have time to take in his surroundings as he grabbed its tail Chili heard a loud pained squeak as the smell of burnt fur touched his nostrils. The thing dropped his food, once it did Chili let it go as he picked up his tin and watched the little thing run off. Its tail was now missing all the fur at the center of its tail leaving a furry end and base. It stopped at the edge of the woods and Chili thought that the thing stuck its tongue out at him before dashing back into the treed area.
Having chased the thing out of the small woods like area he was now out in a rolling land of fields all which were mostly weeds. Though the ground was a grayish color. Chili didn't put much thought into it as he saw that the spoon was still sitting in the container even after all that running. Quickly looking around the field Chili made sure there was nothing stalking him, beofre starting to eat again where he stood. Deciding to eat a little faster just in case worse complaining than a little raccoon showed up, considering the job he was on, Chili finished his food in about five minutes. Putting the spoon in the container Chili put the tin foil that was in a side pouch of his pack and put it back over its container. Unzipping his pack, Chili placed the container in it and rezipped it. Now he just needed to keep wandering until he came across some monsters and hopefully whatever was convincing them to be more daring in their ventures across Fat Monster Land's borders.
"Hopefully I'll also come across some fellow mages....well not dark guild ones at least but ones that will actually help instead of try and kill me." Chili thought as he started off into the fields.
