Council's call (Monster Containment Event)

A sigh escaped the young lady’s lips, her katana hilt safely strapped against her. She came bearing some tidings of protection, considering that the council has stuck out a little call to arms, rumors were becoming the truth about monsters becoming rampant. They seemed to ring true to the fire maiden, and so she decided to go there to sort everything. She didn’t know if the others were going or not, she just knew that she decided to venture out there, with Akemi, her 9 tailed kitsune. Of course, she wasn’t sure what she was going to encounter there, or what monsters will be lurking around, but she was sure that she will be able to handle everything. She was an independent woman, free from her clutches of being a priestess and making her way to being a mage.

“M-misa-chan!” The kitsune grumbled as she looked around. “We have travelled so far, your legs, they must be tired! Why do you keep going, you’ll have no strength to fight!”

“Akemi, do not fear, I have suffered standing up in one place in a long time back when the shrine was popular, I do feel that everything will be fine. Besides, walking is fun and healthy. Being healthy is good and I highly recommend it.”

Misayo wasn’t lying on that account, at the shrine she had to stand up for long periods of time, simply due to mannerisms and the way that shrines work in general. “Don’t worry Akemi, hone-.”

“Misa-chan! I am hungry! Hungry hungry hungry! When can we eat?!”

Misayo sighed… she forgot to bring food with her, and now that she thought of it, her stomach began to growl… “C-crap…” She mumbled as she forgave her own sin of swearing. “I forgot to eat! I was too engrossed in getting us ready for this little thing the council wants.”

“Silly Misa-chan!” Akemi nodded as she jumped on Misayo’s back and sighed. “Now we have to wait for food!”

“Yup! But don’t worry! Like always, we can eat afterwards!”

“OH! Yay! Food food food!” Akemi grinned, waving her arms in the air dramatically, before almost falling off the young woman’s back. Only managing to quickly place her hands on her shoulders. “Oops…”

“Ugh, I almost fell over! Don’t do that again.”

“S-sorry Misa-channnn…” Akemi sighed softly as she shook her head, she has been a naughty kitsune!

“It’s okay.” Misayo sighed softly as she stopped, maybe Akemi was right… she should sit down, luckily, there was a rock nearby, it seemed to harbour room for both the ex-maiden and for the lolita fox. “Hey, let’s go and have a little seat. My legs are indeed getting rather tired, and I feel we need a rest before we can continue.”

Jumping off Misayo’s back, Akemi instantly rushed to the rock that she assumed Misayo was speaking of, with luck it was, and quickly sat down as the woman walked over there in such elegance, before plonking her butt onto the rock itself. “Okay, only 5 or 10 minutes…”

It seemed that the monsters were indeed coming, from what the fire maiden could see. It looked like their time was almost up and Misayo wasn’t sure if she was ready for the monsters just yet. Her legs were still in some sort of pain, the lactic acid swelling inside of her legs, she didn’t understand why she felt so much pain in her legs in this manner… was she out of shape?? That can’t be right. She usually exercises in the art of swordplay, there is no way she cannot be out of shape.

“Is everything okay, Misa-chan?” Akemi asked, looking to her master, tilting her head whilst biting her lower lip. “You’re not hurt are you??”

“Y-yeah, I am fine. Regardless, we should get going, they are arriving and I need to get prepared for the fight. The council wanted this to be dealt with.”

“Yeah yeah! That’s the spirit! Let’s kick ass and take some names!”

“... language …”

“Oops… sorrryyy!”

Misayo was about to giggle to herself at their conversation when a males voice coursed through her eardrums. It sounded familiar, very familiar at that. It was Brad’s, oh gosh, she didn’t expect to see Brad here out of all people. In fact, she didn’t expect to see anyone else pick up this sort of job, it seemed a bit… whacko.

“B-Brad! I didn’t think you would be joining me and Akemi today, I thank you.” Misayo smiled softly as she slowly stood up and bowed down, something she was quite accustomed to from being back at the shrine. “To be honest, I didn’t expect anyone to be joining us, at least it will ease the workload… haha…”

To watch Brad walk away, kinda made Misayo blush slightly, her cheeks growing a tad red, not as red as the flames that her katana can quell, but a bit red nonetheless. Her blush was halted however when she heard the crack of a tree branch, oh boy, was it a monster?? Turning her head, she noticed it was a blue haired female, her blue eyes seemed to make her even prettier than what her fair complexion was showing. “You, you’re here to help?? Jolly good, let’s go, shall we??”

With this, Misayo took out the hilt of her katana and placed her lips on it, the flames started to show themselves, the fire of the shrine maiden burned true. It was time to help Brad as much as possible, and with the new lass that suddenly shown up, she was sure that the three of them will do fine.

The woman seemed to know the situation, even introducing herself to the fire maiden as she explained they must’ve taken on the same job. This was great to the fire maiden, and it will help her if her and Brad had any awkward moments to take note of. They have only been so awkward ever since the moment when they both had a one night stand while taking on a job at a wedding. She still cannot remember most of that night… Nor does she think she would like to.

“Nice to meet you, and nice to meet you too, Kiwi!” Misayo smiled softly “My name is Misayo Oshiro, I am from Infinity Hydra. This is my pet kitsune known as Akemi, she is a bit of an attention seeker, so I apologise if she causes you any trouble.” Misayo smiled as she shrugged her shoulders cheerfully, for a young woman like Misayo, learning to loosening up was difficult, but she would like to know that she was improving to a certain degree.

Looking around, it seemed that Des was already getting to it, summoning a rather cute humanoid, this surprised Misayo, but it made Misayo silently watch. She decided to use a spell, she knew it would probably hurt her allies, but it would hurt everyone that was affected by it, which includes the cyclops. “Okay… let's see if this works…” Misayo would slowly speak to herself as she got onto her knees. She wasn’t that far from Desiree. “I’m sorry, Desiree and Brad… for hurting you…”

After them couple of words, Misayo began to pray with her sword in hand. It didn’t take long for the cool ground to suddenly become warmer, the prayer of flames was indeed taking effect as the heat from the ground became warmer and warmer to the point that it was actually hurting the Cyclops feet. She didn’t know how her buddies would fare, and Akemi, being a jammy bugger, decided to climb onto Misayo’s back, being careful to not disturb the fire priestess on her little prayer.

The woman seemed to know what she was doing as she continued to pray. She didn’t know if they were beginning to take effect or not, but all she could hear were groans and moans from the enemies that were nearby her, Desiree and Brad. She wasn’t sure if this was doing enough however, she decided that it was going to take a little more than a measly prayer to get them going… It was time to be much more brash and dirty with her actions, although she never thought she would be able to fight in this manner. She did have much more confidence now in her mage skills however, and she was indeed ready for the fight that the monsters had set themselves upon for the trio.

Stopping her prayers, she started to encounter pins and needles, slowly growing on both of her legs. While it made her legs feel a little weaker somehow, she shaked off the feeling quickly, and with her sword, she soldiered on as her ebony/brownish hair danced in the breeze. Her eyes glinted, changing from blue to red simultaneously as she got her sword ready. She was not playing any games anymore… She was a mage, and she will prove that she is the rightful owner of her katana, the one that was given to her when her shrine was destroyed. Her father will pay. Her father… will pay… He will pay for killing who she deemed was important.

Her anger started to rage through her emotions, tearing her calm exterior apart and replacing it with an unjustified feeling of resent.

Charging at one of the cyclops, she shouted in what seemed to be a battle cry, climbing on one of the cyclops with little to no time and then slapping the flat side of her burning katana against it’s singular eye. Needless to say, the eye burnt in comparison, continuously burning the eye, it turned red, boiled, bloody until it fell onto the floor. It seemed to die.

Her anger wasn’t over yet, she started to do the same to other cyclops’s, making sure that their eyes said bye bye and then they would fall onto the floor.

Akemi, the poor lass, was struggling in Misayo’s grasp that she fell onto the floor, rolling and in pain. Fortunately, she got up herself, but was very worried for her master... Not to worry! She would say in her head, for she has a plan herself. Akemi made it so that her tails suddenly became really heavy for some reason! She wanted to join the the fight too and prove to Misayo that she was just as strong as her master!

“MISA-CHANNNN LOOKY LOOKY!!”

Akemi shouted with all her might as she jumped high into the air and started to hit a ton of the cyclops relentlessly until 5 of them were down. It seemed that Misayo got 4 of them down too.

Misayo’s anger was still pulsing through her, but at least she felt good at the same time.

As Desirée was watching the fighting occur between the large amount of monsters that seemed to never end and her allies, it occurred to her that she heard hissing behind her. "Oh goodness, watch out Desirée!" Turquoise screamed, pointing behind Desirée. Two large snakes with double the normal amount of heads had began slithering towards her, glaring at her with crossed eyes. Immediately, the another bun-bun appeared in Turquoise's arms, letting her be able to throw it. As the bunny was flying through the air, one of the snakes struck Desirée's back, causing her to fall onto the ground. However, Turquoise's final gambit seemed to pay off, as both of the snakes erupted into green smoke. Kiwi flew over to Desirée, hopping inside of her to begin healing her wounds. This let Desirée be able to get up again, as she began to radiate a gorgeous green color. "I feel a lot better~!" she exclaimed, picking herself up from the ground.

"Desirée, it is now my time to leave. I wish you the best in battle, my dear." the blue-haired summon exclaimed, following in her sinking into a little doll on the ground. This doll resembled the summon perfectly, but seemed to vanish as she looked at it. "I hope Brad is okay..." she thought to herself, looking at him fight a large quantity of monsters near the front-lines. She admired his power, as he seemed very skilled at his magic. Misayo also seemed extremely powerful and brave, fighting that many cyclopes at one time like that. She was impressed by her allies determination in battle, which made her want to feel the same way.

Approaching Desirée was a large group of monsters, which appeared to be ten cyclopes guarding three two-headed snakes. "This is the perfect opportunity to show what I can do~!" she exclaimed, raising her crystal hoop high in the air. "From Chrysalis, I summon thee: Celestite and Bismuth!" she yelled, following in two lights of similar color to shine above the battlefield. Two girls of different sizes appeared from the lights, one tall and bulky, and one short and thin. They both radiated a blue energy, which meant that they would compliment the other's abilities very well. Mist covered the area of Celestite, as it began leaking out of her windy sword. A circle of blue also covered Bismuth's front side, which caused the ground to reflect tiny blue orbs. They were both wielding long, thin swords, one glass and one wind. "Here is the plan, you guys! Bismuth and Celestite, you will both run on opposite sides, swiping through every last enemy in an X shape. Kiwi, you will fly in the center, emitting dark energy to the middle snake. This should take them all out, if I am not mistaken!" she commanded, being out of breath due to the amount of summons on the battlefield. However, she was used to this pain, since she had been testing her limits fairly frequently.

The summons each sprinted in their designated areas, slicing through the enemies in an X shape. Kiwi also followed her orders, passing through the snake and emitting dark energy. Since it was so misty around the enemies, they couldn't even tell what hit them! They erupted into a giant puff of smoke, notifying Desirée that the attack was successful. "Hooray!" she exclaimed, as Bismuth, Celestite, and Kiwi walked back. Celestite dissipated into wind notifying Desirée that her time here was complete for now, as Bismuth stood guard around Desirée in case any more enemies decided to quietly ambush the defenseless girl.

Misayo’s struggles with herself still continued, she was fighting in her mind. Still thinking of the man who murdered her mother, he hurt all his family, he hurt her, he hurt Kenji, he hurt just about everyone. While she still needed to discover what the hell made him so psychotic, she felt that she hardly had the time anymore to discover what caused it.

Suddenly, her train of thought smashed to smithereens as she felt a strong tug in her head, of course, this resulted in a couple of screams from the fire maiden. To Akemi however, it was necessary, she felt that Misayo was getting way too ahead of herself, that Misayo wasn’t acting like ‘Misayo’ and that she needed to return down to earth. If Akemi was going to be honest with herself, this is the first time that the childish kitsune seen her master like this, she didn’t exactly like it. There was always so much trouble in the world, she didn’t want Misayo to be enthralled by it exactly, she wanted Misayo to be badass, but not scary. “Misa-chan!” Akemi cried out “Please don’t be scary! Nobody wants a scary Misa-chan!”

Misayo stopped in her tracks of anger, Akemi was right… this wasn’t the time or place to be angry, or scary, if that's how Akemi puts it. She had to keep her focus, destroy as many enemies as possible, and to try her best to complete this job, it was the council that wanted as many down as possible in order to keep the monster. It was her job to complete that task, even if her mood swings and daddy issues will or will not prevent her so.

Suddenly, a roar was heard, Misayo couldn’t help but cover her ears as the loud noise pierced into her ears. It was indeed loud, too loud, in fact. She had to crouch down as the soaring roar slowly stopped. It seemed that the fight was going okay. A few monsters were down and out, some were still up. Speaking of monsters… it looked like that Brad was beginning to struggle, this was never good for him. From the time that she met Brad, he seemed like a guy who was able to keep himself in check. Maybe it was time to finally help him, she had no other monsters around her to slay it seemed, as Desiree managed to kick butt with her neat summons. “Nice shot, Desiree!” Misayo shouted as she turned around. “Keep continuing, i'll go help Brad!”

Misayo had to be quick, there were a few monsters already surrounding the three of them, and Brad couldn’t fight them all on his end. Seeing how strong Desiree was, she felt she didn’t need to keep Akemi with Desiree, she had the power of summons at the side, while there were a few restrictions, that didn’t make her any less stronger. She felt power flooding from Brad and Desiree both.

Suddenly, Misayo noticed that there were a few cyclops huddling around Brad. It wasn’t the time to dawdle!

“BRAD!” Misayo shouted as she ran to get behind him, unfortunately, five snakes got in the way. Misayo wasn’t going to let monsters get in her way however, and with a lot of angry slashing with her katana, they were down and frizzled. Their bodies burnt and bleak due to the sheer amount of burns they received.

“It seems the cyclops I was fighting came to you because they saw you struggling.” Misayo sighed softly at her own mistake. If she wasn’t angry, she would’ve noticed that the cyclops were heading straight to Brad. Now she was disappointed in herself.

“MY TURN!” Akemi shouted, her metal tails were still prominent in the fight, jumping up and spinning around, using her tails as much as possible, it didn’t take long for Akemi to take down four more of the cyclops. She was still ready to beat anyone that was going to take people down.

Misayo grinned softly, it seemed 2 of the cyclops were softened up thanks to Akemi. Misayo began to focus all her energy onto the katana, it became a burning blue as she breathed heavily…

“Evil spirit! Begone!!” The sounds of a fire-based slash invaded Misayo’s ears as the cyclops then simply dropped onto the floor.

Misayo didn’t end there, she then breathed into her sword, which resulted in a fire-breathing like move, breathing fire onto another cyclops that just dropped onto the floor. That was 6 more cyclops taken down by the hand of Misayo and Akemi. She didn’t know how much longer she had to deal with this though.

As Desirée and Bismuth stood guard in the back-lines, they witness countless monsters being slaughtered at the hands of the members of Infinity Hydra that had worked as her allies on this mission. "You are doing gre-" Desirée exclaimed, as a chimera came flying full speed toward Desirée. "Move!" Bismuth screamed, as she pushed Desirée out of her way and was devoured by the beast's mouth in a single swipe, swallowing the summon whole. "Bismuth!" she screamed, as the chimera began to fly higher into the sky to charge another attack. As it ascended, a glow began to form from its belly. "Gah!" yelled a voice from inside the stomach of the chimera, as a series of cuts formed throughout its entire body. It erupted into millions of small glass particles, annihilating the chimera. However, to Desirée's dismay, Bismuth was falling throughout the air at a rapid speed toward the ground. "Win this battle, Desirée. We can be acquainted again fairly soon." Bismuth said softly, as her voice echoed through the field in which they were fighting in. As she hit the ground, her body burst into the same types of fragments as what the chimera had turned into.

After this last chimera had fallen, there appeared to be only one boss left: the Griffin. The ground began to shake as it walked up the hill, and its massive body appeared through the mist covering the battlefield. Its eyes looked to be ablaze with immense hatred and anger, and it looked to be prepared to attack. "From Chrysalis, I summon thee: Moonstone and Pink Calcite!" Desirée exclaimed, as she gripped hold of two of the worry-stones on her hoop. Appearing in a blue and pink lights in-front of her were two beautiful summons, one wearing a dress which resembled the moon and one wearing a white and pink bodysuit that looked meant for war. A second moon formed in the sky covering the sun since it was so close, causing the battlefield to switch from a warm environment to a peaceful and windy form. As the wind picked up, Desirée's skirt went up with it, but she was extremely used to this occasion happening with Moonstone. Also, due to Pink Calcite's presence, the sky rained cherry blossom petals, glowing a slight pink with the moon's reflection. Both of the summons could tell what they needed to do without listening to orders, so they did just that. Pink Calcite shot up into the trees circling the arena they were in, lining her sights of her sniper onto the Griffin's eye. As for Moonstone, she seemed to be channeling her energy for an upcoming attack. Due to the charging of both of her summons, Desirée could do nothing but hide behind a shrub with Kiwi to ensure her safety.

Everything soon dropped around the trio, thanks to their impressive teamwork, the majority was gone. There was only one more that needed to be dealt with, and oh boy, they were gigantic. It was quite worrying if Misayo was going to be rather honest, but she believed she could also take this one down just as much as Brad or Desiree possibly could. With herself and her katana dancing its flames, she got herself ready, she will be the first one to charge at the large one.

As the previously known shrine maiden got herself to do so, Akemi ran alongside her owner and even jumped on her owners shoulders before jumping high in the air, she still had her tails all coated in that fantastic metal and she quickly got to work, standing on the griffon’s back and constantly using her tails to whack the enemy until the metal coating ran out.

Misayo was more graceful in her moves like usual, usually, she would stand back and watch for certain movements, but they had no time to lose, Brad and Desiree probably needed their rest, well, Brad especially.

Sliding her way across the battlefield, Misayo continued to use her sword, letting its fiery blade to slash across their front legs. However, what she didn’t expect, was for the Griffon to react in a way that would make Misayo incapacitated to an extent. The Griffon quickly took up one of their feet and slammed it downwards, aiming at Misayo and trapping her, leaving her top half of her body exposed and her bottom half consumed by the raging foot.

Screams emanated from the ex-shrine maiden as she started to struggle in it’s grasp, she needed out if she was going to help, she didn’t want to act as if she was a damsel in distress, the pain didn’t help either as one of the claws was digging into her back, as if they literally stabbed her.

Everything dead except the boss~~

As Desirée had been watching Misayo and Brad viciously fight the monster, she had felt a warmth in her heart because of their nobility and honor. From making the beast scream in agony and pain to saving Misayo from impending doom under the beast's claws, Desirée knew that Brad was an extremely strong mage at that. "Ready to strike~!" Moonstone exclaimed, as she began to close her eyes and clasp her hands across her heart. Her hands began to glow a beautiful purple, and the wind picked up more. The moon overhead because of her presence began to glow and match her hands as well, and started to spin across the sky. "Idols of Chrysalis, we love the moon's presence. Thank you for letting me assist you, Dessi-Chan~!" she said softly in a happy tone, as she raised her hands in the air and slammed the moon into the griffin. The griffin screamed in agony even more and fell on its side, causing the claw caging Misayo in to free her if she was still there.

"Des, I am currently ready to fire." a voice said in Desirée's mind, as she turned in the direction of trees. Forming around her sniper gun was cherry blossom petals, which eventually stopped at the sight of Pink Calcite's finger meeting the trigger. When she pulled the trigger, her hair fluttered with cherry blossoms, and a bullet quickly flew throughout the sky toward the griffin. The griffin wallowed with fear as it approached, and the bullet leaving a cherry-blossom trail pierced its eye. It traveled throughout the entire head and came out the other end, causing the beast to fall completely over and radiating a pink light. It popped into cherry blossom petals, and floated into the sky above.

In the end, Pink Calcite and Moonstone bowed and returned to Chrysalis, and the rest of the team said their goodbyes before returning to their guild halls and notifying their fellow guild-members and masters in regards for their efforts in saving these lands that they ever-so-gracefully defended and cleared of hostile monsters.
