Primary Magic: Special Snowflake Magic (Kiah Lake)
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Lost Magic: Caster
Description:
Kiah Lake is an ancient magic used by the residents of Iceberg and passed down through generations. It was originally taught to the chieftain of one igloo village by a fallen angel, who sought to regain her risen state by teaching mortals of morality and faith. From this first knowledge is descended the modern form of the Kiah Lake which Lacey uses, improved on over time but still managing to retain an aspect of pure spirit. The biggest change was the shift from the usage of light as a medium to ice. Because great temperatures and placement on a land can affect light, such as bending it and getting none at all on certain days, it was a finicky thing to base a magic around in a country like Iceberg. Ice and snow are so prevalent that in the nation, they were not a problem at all to find and ended up working best.
Lacey uses this magic sparingly for combat, although she does unconsciously weave together Kiah Lake and her everyday life. An example would be how she has a tendency to make it snow wherever she goes, although this can be reversed easily both since it is unnatural and because a little bit of concentration eliminates the issue if it is such. Admittedly, she enjoys the snow a great deal and would not always automatically get rid of it. An adoration of the cold over any other type of environmental state, leaves her preference as terrain possessing this trait: tundra, high mountains, and arctics are preferred for suitable battleground. Worth noting is how it is a major part of her magic's goal to be flexible to what any allies should need. This being said, she does excel at defense, utility, and support, protecting and strengthening indirectly.
To note~ Although her name and the culture background behind it are both faintly Romanesque, she hails from a village in Iceberg where Japanese yokai are very prevalent and are able to interact freely with human inhabitants of the area. Despite the fact that Lacey claims to be human, she actually assumed the personality and disguise of a girl from the village after she was accidentally killed while falling through the ice on a skating rink. This stems from her desire to be accepted and loved and happens to be her greatest sin and the mistruth that she cannot bear to admit. In the end, though, Lacey is indeed a bakedanuki and possesses some certain traits as such. The most major is an animal form, in which she has white fur and blue eyes. She can shapeshift from this form to her other and may also enter a partial state in which she has some attributes of both. As a whole, she generally has tanuki ears, tail, and fangs. Her true name is Hiyori Inoue, although she wouldn't even admit it under duress and has gotten it sealed away from being sprung from her lips by truth spells or the like.
Strengths:
† All ice has a holy aspect to it
† Great for supporting allies
† Defensive abilities can buy time to formulate a more tactical plan
Weaknesses:
† Melts to heat magic
† Fire is more effective against it
† Not very strong in offense
† Weak in heavy melee combat
Unique Abilities:
Glacial Potency † Lacey's magic has a burning cold touch that seeps into any hostile target damaged by it or in contact with it. This cold afflicts any of the affected with .5 rank damage per post in magic damage as frostbite for up to the next three posts and may not be triggered on the same target for at least one post + the duration. May be removed by de-debuff or fire spells of a higher rank.
Slippery Slope † Although it is well known that defense piercing abilities exist, it is less common for counteractive measures to be present in order to discourage these piercing abilities. Any defensive creation by Lacey requires to be destroyed before passing by; the preventative measure comes into play if someone attempts to "skip" and bypass eliminating the creation and do straight damage right away. The shield/barrier health is dealt to any "skipper" during the attempt, but such efforts by a hostile party can be cancelled and only 50% barrier damage would be taken. These effects can only apply to a person up to one rank above Lacey, no more, and have no increased effect on lower ranks. At most barrier damage can only deal 2 ranks to a person when they try to go through. Discussed with Iza; my bad for using this earlier.
Snowflake Empowerment † Lacey gains an additional 45% magic strength.
Frozen Clarity † A certain system of miniature crystals amplifies the range and ability of Lacey's eyes. She can more easily monitor a being's breathing, heart rate, and other systems through purely visual means; her understanding of his or her physiology is increased, allowing her to do an additional 25% damage and catch, to some extent as a matter of plot, lies.
Idol of Ice † A thin, invisible coat of ice runs over her body and is able to absorb up to 1 user rank of incoming damage. This coat refreshes every other post and takes an additional 25% damage from heat based sources.

- Lineage:
- Lineage: Victor's Descent:
Description: There once was a cannibal that used forbidden blood magic to slay and devour his victims. After many years of eating human flesh and drinking their blood through magic, it corrupted him. He could no longer live without it and needed the blood to stay refreshed and focused. When hunting new prey, Victor used his Blood Vision to track down his victims. His offspring had the same corruption in their blood, and they could use the Blood Vision. However, they did not grow the same hunger, unless they started to feed on humans.
Ability: The user can see all enemies within 100 meters in their field of view, regardless of what might be impeding their vision. By tasting someone, directly or indirectly (Licking something they touched / blood drips on the ground, ect.) they become persistently aware of the direction that person or creature is so long as they're flesh and blood.
Usage: Passive toggle on/off.

† Can be dodged
† Has no increased effects on opponents of lower ranks
- Blink:
- Name: Blink
Rank: D Rank
Type: Utility
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: One use per post
Description: Lacey blinks to a target location within 20m, leaving behind a shower of snowflakes in her previous position.
Strengths:
† Simple teleport spell, nothing much here
Weaknesses:
† Cannot go very far
† Also can make it hard for allies to keep track of her location
- D Ranks:
- Blizzard:
- Name: Blizzard
Rank: D Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Offense
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Lacey sends out a blinding swirl of snowflakes that congregates with her as the center point, having a radius of 15m. This swirl deals .5 rank damage per post.
Strengths:
† Can deal light damage
Weaknesses:
† Has absolutely no effect other than damage
† Has a comparatively small range
- Bitter Cold:
- Name: Bitter Cold
Rank: D Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Support
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 2 posts
Description: Lacey seals a wound off with cold, healing for 2 ranks bodily damage but damaging in pain for .5 ranks magic damage. This spell is so painful that it cannot be used on the same ally, for mentality and sanity reasons, for a certain period of time afterwards beyond the cooldown~ 2 posts.
Strengths:
† Can heal the target for quite a bit
Weaknesses:
† Slightly damages the target
† Has an additional usage cooldown besides the ordinary one
- Focus:
- Name: Focus
Rank: D Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Support
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: By channeling ice into a target’s veins and circulatory system, Lacey can purge debuffs from the affected and also renders the target unable to be debuffed by those of equal or lower rank to the user. These effects are decreased in strength for one rank above and only weaken debuffs by 50%. Focus also cannot prevent debuffs of more than one rank above.
Strengths:
† Handy for ending nasty status effects
Weaknesses:
† Can only work on one person per ability usage
† Does no damage to enemies
- Permafrost:
- Name: Permafrost
Rank: D Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Defense
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 2 posts
Description: Lacey coats any creation of hers with extra layers of ice, increasing its durability by 25%. For defensive spells like shields, this 25% does not apply to durability and instead is changed to a value based on the actual shield or barrier health, as 25% of such.
Strengths:
† Can increase the effectiveness of defense
Weaknesses:
† Does nothing for offense
† Cannot be used on ally creations aside from pets and summons belonging to Lacey
- C Ranks:
- Crevasse:
- Name: Crevasse
Rank: C Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Earth, Utility
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Lacey pushes ice magic into the ground and then cracks open the frozen earth, creating a wide Crevasse that spans up to 20m long and 10m wide~ so most people wouldn’t be able to jump over it without a specific spell or buffed leap. The air inside the Crevasse is extremely cold and has ice coated on the sides, making it very slippery to be inside of and difficult to climb out of. Thus, opponents of one rank above the Crevasse are unable to climb up, but two ranks above are completely unaffected by the ice and cold temperatures aside from maybe discomfort. That doesn’t change that if they fall into the Crevasse, they are stuck down there until they climb up or teleport out or do something else. Enemies who fall and land on the floor of the Crevasse can take 1 rank of damage if they don’t break their landing using some kind of ability in a way that makes sense, which is ranked above the Crevasse; otherwise, the impact will go through any barriers or mattresses, etc.
Strengths:
† Can capture enemies inside of it if they fall or get caught underneath as it’s opening up
† Is wide enough that most people, even mages, can’t jump over using purely physical means
Weaknesses:
† Can change terrain in an undesirable way
† Allies can fall into the Crevasse as well and also have trouble crossing or bypassing it
† Lacey herself can also be pushed into the Crevasse, although she can freely climb/move out it does take reasonable time
- Empyrean Freeze:
- Name: Empyrean Freeze
Rank: C Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Wind, Utility
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Lacey regales the northern winds from afar and brings them sweeping into the area~ 30m radius around Lacey, and freezing any nonmagical things as well as magical ones of equal or lower rank to the spell. Anything of one rank above that will only be partially frozen and will experience a slight movement speed debuff~ 30% as a C Rank debuff.
Strengths:
† Can freeze higher level opponents because it’s purely utility and does no damage
† Can freeze nonmagical items, which can affect their use depending on what they are
Weaknesses:
† It’s very easy to hit allies with this spell
† Doesn’t work very well on high ranked opponents
† Does absolutely no damage
- Icicle Armor:
- Name: Icicle Armor
Rank: C Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Defense
Duration: 2 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Description: Creates a set of armor purely made of dark, navy blueish ice. This armor may take up to 3 ranks of damage and is built to fit whoever is wearing it.
Strengths:
† Can be used on allies besides Lacey
† Acts as a normal armor for durability purposes as long as it is in existence
Weaknesses:
† The dark blue color can make it stand out against a lot of backgrounds, as an easier target to hit
† Purely defensive and therefore has no offensive ways to use it
† Does not regen in any way, the armor spell health of 3 ranks
- B Ranks:
- Glacial Path:
- Name: Glacial Path
Rank: B Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Utility
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Lacey enchants her feet with ice, allowing them to leave behind a frosty trail that is 40cm wide and becomes as long as it can get during the duration of the spell, although never exceeding 50m~ the end of it will begin to disappear if this limit is reached. Allies can follow this path and receive an additional 35% move speed while standing on top of it~ this move speed benefit applies to Lacey and her icy feet as well. Due to the lack of damage the MP required for this spell is simply a flat 5% less.
Strengths:
† Great for making an escape
Weaknesses:
† Deals no damage whatsoever
† Does not even slow enemies with its ice on the ground
- Hailstone:
- Name: Hailstone
Rank: B Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Defense
Duration: 5 posts
Cooldown: 6 posts
Description: Lacey conjures an enormous block of ice that is slightly curved outwards with the caster behind it. This block is approximately 30m in horizontal width and up to 20m tall, although it is comparatively thin, only 5m thick which is still a decent amount of ice. This block can take up to 3 ranks of damage and regenerates 1 rank of damage in block health if it was not broken the past post. Can never stack and be over the 3 ranks health limit.
Strengths:
† Strong and great for defense
Weaknesses:
† Does not protect on all four sides
† Because it’s so wide, allies can also have trouble getting around it
- Halo of Ice:
- Name: Halo of Ice
Rank: B Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Offense
Duration: Instant
Cooldown: 6 posts
Description: Lacey gathers her magical energy briefly and then explodes it out in a shower of sharp ice, forming a halo around her in a radius of up to 50m away but not necessarily that far. This halo deals 1.5 rank damage on account of the fact that it both has an increased cooldown and cannot damage enemies inside the halo or outside; rather than being a circle, it is a ring with a width of barely 5m.
Strengths:
† Great damage
Weaknesses:
† Increased cooldown
† Smallish area of effect
- Avalanche:
- Name: Avalanche
Rank: B Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Offense
Duration: 2 posts + 1 post channel/delay prior
Cooldown: 4 posts
Description: Lacey thrusts her arms up towards the sky and shouts the name of the spell before the air around her in a 50m radius begins to stir and become chilled. After a delay of 1 post, during which Lacey cannot move or cast spells, enormous chunks of ice approximately 1m square each begin to fall from the sky, starting at a point 50m high and falling at 25m/s. They deal 1.75 spell rank damage, any hits together, and an enemy can only take up to that amount of damage from this spell. During the entire time, Lacey cannot move. For this reason as well as the channel time and the fact that it is a multi hit spell, the damage on this spell is increased and furthermore, an enemy can only take up to .75 damage per post. Since channel is +50% and multi hit is +50%~ this spell is anyways only +75%.
Strengths:
† Deals a great deal of damage if it hits
† Starts fairly high in the sky and therefore cannot be dodged very easily by jumping or flying
Weaknesses:
† Her shouting can alert people to get out of the way and therefore not get hit
† Has a channel time
† Immobilizes Lacey
- A Ranks:
- Quinzhee:
- Name: Quinzhee
Rank: A Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Defense
Duration: 6 posts
Cooldown: 7 posts
Description: Lacey conjures an enormous Quinzhee, which is basically an igloo except instead of blocks it’s made of smooth and packed ice and snow. This construction can take up to 3 spell ranks of damage and acts as a miniature shelter. It regenerates 1 rank of damage in block health if it was not broken the past post. Can never stack and be over the 3 ranks health limit. Only allies may enter through the entrance~ the entrance is about 1m wide and 2m tall~ unless people trying to enter are enemies ranked over one rank above the spell. The place itself is approximately 20m wide and 8m tall, although in the center because it has a domeish roof, it is about 12m tall. It only has one room and automatically comes with ice chairs and beds and tables and even an ice pit and some torch holders that can hold nonmagical fire and fire spells of an equal or lower rank, as long as they are allied spells. This Quinzhee is warm inside to allies, although hostiles who are inside will feel like their innards are frozen. Keep out, strangers!
Strengths:
† As many allies can be inside as can fit
† A warm and toasty fire can be had as well
Weaknesses:
† If enemies break in any snuggle parties are interrupted and so are secret tactical planning conversations
† Although the cold inside bothers people greatly it doesn’t actually do damage on its own but it is honestly extraordinarily uncomfortable
† Powerful enough enemies can just march straight through the entrance
- Frost Shield:
- Name: Frost Shield
Rank: A Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Defense
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown: 5 posts
Description: Lacey projects a barrier of frost all around her, hard and semi-transparent. It is about 2m away from her at all points and therefore is somewhat star and imperfectly shaped, like a snowflake. This shield can take up to 3 ranks of damage and regenerates 1 rank of damage if it was not broken in the past post. Can never stack and be over the 3 ranks health limit.
Strengths:
† Blocks a large amount of damage
Weaknesses:
† Pure defense, no offense here
† This shield can only be used on Lacey herself, and never cast around allies
- Whiteout:
- Name: Whiteout Alert
Rank: A Rank
Type: Holy, Ice, Utility
Duration: 4 posts
Cooldown: 8 posts
Description: Lacey swirls energy around her body, increasing damage output and defense by 40%.
Strengths:
† Can buff temporarily
Weaknesses:
† Only affects Lacey’s personal damage, including from summons and pets but not allies
† Can't actually do damage on its own
Extra B Rank spell is from completion of the Angels and Demons job Job ~ Done
Notes for future reference in a spell~ but not applicable here
If cast towards a hostile target, it appears as a horizontal icicle the same opaque white, one meter long and twelve centimeters wide. This icicle flies towards a target up to 75m away, at a rate of approximately 40m/s~ for the sake of round numbers~ and acts as a linear single target projectile that cannot be blocked by nonmagical things but may definitely be dodged. If it hits an enemy, it prevents them from using any type of vision be it spell or just plain physical, for that post if they are of equal or lower rank. Opponents of one rank above will find that they are only half effectively visually impaired and may not use any spells relating to vision which are of equal or lower rank to Verglas.
