Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 7th April 2017, 11:02 am

Roy had received word on his way back to the guildhall that the magic council was looking for a few good wizards to handle a rather vile disturbance. He wasn't sure if there was anyone else joining him on this mission though he hoped that there was. From what he understood his opponent was quite strong. He wasn't sure if he could handle it alone but if worse came to worse then he would definitely have to try. He approached the village slowly and cautiously, it seemed to be a ghost town. There were hardly any noises coming from the village, in fact as Roy attempted to listen for any noise at all he found that there were literally none at all. Creepy, Roy thought to himself. Roy imagined that this was the correct town, he couldn't imagine that any town that this girl wandered through would remain populated for very long. Given that this girl had developed a taste for mass murder. In fact reports say that she even took out an entire small guild. Albeit a dark guild, and not a very powerful one. Still it was concerning, especially if Roy was going to try doing this solo. Roy was pretty sure that after this he would ask to take the B rank exam, if this didn't earn him enough credibility then he didn't know what would. He had been casually doing jobs for long enough. It was time to start getting serious, after all his guild may need him one day and when that time came he would like to have acquired enough power to be useful to them. Sure he was able to come up with a decent trap and at his full potential he could rack up 3 times the amount of damage as an S rank wizard's spell, but still. If that's what he could do now, he could only imagine what it would be like to attain the kind of power that the higher level mages had. Their control and mastery over magic was truly something spectacular. He has always relied on his intelligence and cunning in order to overcome more powerful foes but as of late the gaps in power were becoming...almost insurmountable. He could be as smart as he liked but his enemies were simply becoming to powerful. His attacks didn't go as far as they used to and he needed to improve.

    Job Info

The notice had come in the usual way from the magic council to perform a job or them; this was nothing new to Luna as she had already performed many services for the council - including destroying a meteor summoned by Hera which would have outright destroyed Crocus otherwise should she had never been there and destroy the meteor completely with the sheer firepower of Behemoth. Taking the time to read the missive thoroughly, she learned that she wasn't alone on this job and that she would have a partner. No problem, she quickly prepared her traveling kit in a satchel and left the small apartment for the nearby tree-line at the edge of the small fishing village.

Luna quickly spiked through the forest - though the tight-nit copse of trees not seeming to even effect her as the cloaked female passed right through them. Her legs picked up and she took to flight as she head on to the village indicated in the documents. Even at the speed the mage was traveling, it would take a few minutes, until she finally reached the location. Almost at the same time as Roy had arrived, the woman landed right in-front of him. The wind caught the cloak and hood, pushing them from her visage to give Roy a good look at her. Silken curls of black hue frame the beautiful woman's countenance and fall to the mid of her back, yellow-hued irises focusing intently at the point of her short curved nose. Luna stands at a trimmed and lithe build with a height of five feet and eight inches, thin shoulders paired with vivacious curves and well-endowed physical assets. Luna wears a low-cut split dress of black hues with black-and-green raven feathers stitched in at the shoulders. A brown leather corset provides some protection to the maiden along with a satchel strapped to dangle off one side. Finally, black lace stockings rise high paired with long black leather heeled boots.

"Well, Hello there. It seems that we are partnered up in this mission. Why don't we introduce ourselves, then get about it?" She spoke in soft Italian accented speach, as she brought one hand up and released a compressed current of air pressure. Returning her amber eyes to Roy, she spoke up again. "I am Luna Jaeger, pleased to meet you; you can just call me Luna, though. I am a wizard specializing in physical confrontation, area of effect spells, and debuff or support spells, with my God Slayer magic."

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 8th April 2017, 12:58 pm

Roy looked back at the women that just showed up only moments after Roy. The wind picked up a bit and shifted her cowl allowing Roy to get a glimpse of her features. Truth be told she was actually quite the beauty. Her hair was long dark and curly, and her eyes were amber. She wore a low cut black dress with black and green raven feathers attached to the shoulders. Her build was small yet lithe. A brown leather corset wrapped around her, and her legs were covered in black lace stockings, with black heeled boots decorating her feet.

She introduced herself and told Roy her name as well as the kind of magic she used, and what it was used for in combat. Judging by the way she released a current of air from her palm he assumed she was an air god slayer. Not bad, it wouldn't hurt to have a slayer with them he supposed. They had some unique abilities that many others did not. While she spoke Roy pulled out his pipe from his pouch and lit it with a spark from his magic. He puffed on the pipe until she was done explaining herself and Roy responded.

"My name is Roy. I use smoke magic. It can do a bit of everything."

Roy pulled out his knife as he began to walk forward into the village, and suddenly began to hear whispering. He couldn't quite make out what they were saying, but the whispering was getting more the longer it went on, and harsher too it seemed. He turned his head left and right and scanned the area. He wasn't sure if these whispers were a trick or an illusion, but he couldn't imagine they would be real. There was no one here he was sure of that. He turned to the god slayer near him and asked.

"Do you hear that? There are...whispers, around every corner. I don't believe they are real but why don't you see if you can pick up anyone's scent, see if it's just us around or not."

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Luna Jaeger 17th April 2017, 1:08 pm

"My name is Roy. I use smoke magic. It can do a bit of everything."

Roy introduced himself, speaking of his magic and what he was capable of as Luna had just done beforehand. From the knowledge gained by the short introduction and intuition, it seemed best for Roy to take the role of support while Luna focused on examining their foes - whatever those may be. Immediately, Luna activated Allsehendes Auge and got a much clearer picture of -whatever- lurked within the outer edge of the village. This particular ability worked by releasing air vibrations then measuring them on the skintight field around herself. It was a form of 'vision' which was almost like echolocation and sonar but down to minute details. "Well, it's a pleasure to meet you Roy. It's always nice to meet another brethren of Sabertooth. I look forward to working with you and I hope that we become friends."

"Do you hear that? There are...whispers, around every corner. I don't believe they are real but why don't you see if you can pick up anyone's scent, see if it's just us around or not."

"They are illusions, more importantly we should head further into the town. There are several other illusions as well -just ignore them, our quarry lies within the village center. Here, I'll just take us there directly." Luna responded quietly. She could sense several forms - four dancing swords and ninety spears -  the dancing swords casting as like autonomous phantoms and the spears levitating in the sky, ready to jut in flight at the two of them. Grasping the arm of Roy, the two of them vanished in an instant and placed herself directly behind the dancing swords - avoiding the spears which stuck out like a porcupine where the two had just been standing. Now, they stood past all of those illusions to face the little girl with a stuffed animal in her hands.

"Be on caution, she is an A-ranked wizard - even if she doesn't seem like it. I'll take the front, I should be able to handle her up close. Just do whatever you feel will help in this battle."

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 23rd April 2017, 8:34 pm

Roy wasn't sure how the woman next to him could be so certain that the noises and constructs that surrounded them were illusions. But he supposed that he would put his faith in to her, if worse came to worse he was sure he could get himself out of whatever trouble they got in to. Maybe not the girl though, but as she grabbed him by his arm Roy noticed that she had the ability to teleport. She should be alright, in that case.

Strange enough that they were still avoiding the swords and spears however if they were just illusions but maybe some of them possessed quasi real capabilities. Roy heard her claim that she could handle this wizard up close, and even told him to basically just do whatever he thought might help out. He had to laugh a little at this. She was a confident one, and not all that impressed by his smoke magic either it seemed. He knew she wasn't being cruel , and he had to admit that at first his magic might not seem all that impressive at all.

He pulled out his already packed pipe and lit it with a flash of sparks from his thumb. He was almost content to watch Luna try her best against this opponent and see just how powerful she actually was. If her confidence was actually warranted or not. But he didn't think that this was the time to fool around. She was after all an A rank wizard, or at least her strength level was. So without a word he disappeared from view. His aura shifting and changing to match his surroundings, he wasn't sure if this girl possessed powerful enough sensory abilities to locate him through her powers alone, but this should hopefully at least make it harder for her.

The question was if these things all around them were illusions then were they the product of changing the outside world to resemble something false like Roy's magic, or did she get right into your head, and shift your own perception of reality. He didn't think there was any way to find out without taking a few risks so he decided to just go for it. No more hiding, he would go all out straight from the beginning, he summoned his smoke hands under the same dweomor as himself, also hidden from view. He suppressed his magical power as well, she was powerful enough to get a good read on him by sensing that alone.

Roy started to move silently towards the side away from his companion and circling the girl Lilith, he looked at her eyes wondering if they would follow him, he was already preparing his next trap, his next several traps depending on her reactions.

He would have to account for Luna in this battle, he wasn't sure how she fought exactly but she seemed to be a melee fighter. Thus he couldn't put up a smoke screen around Lilith, and he couldn't do it around himself, both of those options would blind his ally as well as his enemy. It was true the way he fought was somewhat held back when he fought with another person. But as long as she could carry her own weight she would more than make up for it. Still he might have to factor her own movements into his strategy so that she didn't get hurt either.

He would tell her his plans when the time came. She would be fine, and this way as Roy began laying traps and observing the battle he would get a good look at his allies abilities, while still hopefully hiding his own, it was nothing personal just the way he liked to operate.

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Luna Jaeger 28th April 2017, 8:48 pm

"Heh heh heh... why don't we play?"

"Not exactly my cup of tear, dear. I'm sure you;d love to wrap me up and consume my mind so I can become another of your dolls, charming it is, but well I have other plans. In the mean time, let's see how long you can last." spoke the woman with a hint of snark. One thing was for sure, the smoke of Roy's magic would have no effect upon the woman for even when sight was obscured there was always another way. In her case, the sensory power she possessed would see her through so the effort of mana to blow the smoke away by wind was an unnecessary risk at the moment. By the same stroke, Ron or Ronald had no way of communicating with her clearly so he had no way of knowing her strengths, yet when he stopped to wonder about whether these were illusions, he would see a dancing blade cut into Luna and disappear without any damage or negative outcome. Dispelling the figments were trivial, but even then would require effort and thus required her to use energy she could better spend in the mental battle that was ahead. Having learned what she could about their foe due to a tome and her hobby of being a lorekeeper, Luna had thoroughly researched into Lilith herself and knew that the wizard would prey on her using the power of nightmares and the power inherit to the bear - she would have to deal with it soon enough.

"Crippled Soul!" Lilith, the young lady,  cast out as chains snatching out of dust and dirt to attempt to wrap around Luna - only problem was that she seemed to miraculously avoid the chain and as they bent to catch her, dug into the bear where she had just transported to. Luna seemed to know the chains were coming, like she could read into her own destiny, and simply wasn't there when they came. Then, as they came closer to where she was now standing, she back-pedaled before they could re-acquire her and dug into the bear itself. Now, standing behind the bear, the beautiful woman's hands raised from her waist.

"Memory Fall!" Lilith tried to call out, but Luna was already on the move, her body surrounding with swathing wind currents of black which would sharply crescendo into her leg which shot out at the side of the stuffed creature. The force cleaved into the bear, shearing wool from it's hide as it was tossed powerfully through the air and into a patch of black wind created by Luna. Such an ability that required the bear to 'look' at their target would not work. Simultaneously, Luna called out her attack in italian accented words. "Sky God's Chariot!

"Thorn Bind Hostage!" Called Luna, her hands coming together into a triangular form with the bear in it's gap just as the magic was weaved into fruition and thorny vines burst from the earth and surrounded the bear on all sides. He didn't have much of a choice as he found himself wrapped in the vines taken hostage while thorns threatened to release his stuffing and tear him asunder should be move around too much. Strangely, Luna didn't seem to be so serious about it all, simply showing off a cheshire grin and enjoying herself. For someone so cheery, she had just performed a masterful strategy of taking the bear out of the picture. With Mr. Snuggums out of the Way, Luna could focus on the little tyke. It was up to her partner to ensure Snuggums didn't leave the smoke or either of them could easily get fucked over.

"Sky God's Lariat!" commanded the warrior femme, her right arm raising. Luna was fully surrounded within a midnight-hued aura of living wind which crossesd through her body as multiple air currents, her body moving instantly as no more than a hazy blur across the space of five meters towards the victim with the left arm raised. As she moved forth with the continual inertial of such high speeds, her arm yanked forwards into a lariat at the victim while the black winds that surrounded them cleaved through the opponent and into her flesh in the visage of a black dragon. At the same time, two draconic wings shot out into her, each feather shredding her as if shot by a shotgun blast. Luna backpedaled quickly, circling around the girl to see what she would do. Meanwhile, the A-rank little wizard would find herself missing 12% of her Mana in addition to the cost for the spells. Each subsequent round, an additional 2% would bleed through to provide mana rejuvenation for Luna.

"Seems like you need Mr. Snuggums to be a real threat, what a disappointment for an A-ranked Wizard. From this perspective I can just sit around and bleed your mana dry, maybe it'll serve to subdue you so I can bring you in, or maybe I'm just looking for a tasty morsel. Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to suck you dry, unlike you I've got morals.

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 10th May 2017, 9:58 am

Luna seemed pretty apt at what she did, she was able to avoid Lilith's attacks quite easily and even managed to subdue her magical item, as well as drain Lilith of some of her magic. She also seemed very impressed with herself. Confidence was good but he couldn't help but feel that something was going to go wrong here... maybe he was just paranoid though. Maybe just this once things would be simple and easy. Luna was actually shaping up to be one of the best distractions that he could have asked for. It gave him plenty of time to summon his smoke hands, as well as his clones.

Now these no one should be able to sense, they had the texture of smoke and no consciousness of their own. Lilith won't see them coming. Roy crossed his arms over his chest to form an X, as was his habit when he was concentrating and raised them, the fifty smokey hands raised as well like vipers noticing their prey and setting themselves up to strike. He was about to cast them down on Lilith when all of a sudden a sharp ear shattering screech rang through out the town they were in. Roy dropped to his knees and covered his ears as a reflex, he screamed as well but this was drowned out by the sheer volume of the screech and he couldn't even hear himself.

His vision blurred for a moment and his breathe stopped in his chest, he had no idea what that was but he wasn't sure if either he or his partner could handle to many of those screeches. As his vision returned he started looking around commanding his clones to do the same. Soon enough they found the cause of this disturbance. The bear that had been chained up by Luna's spell. It seems it had struggled to hard against her spell and hurt itself. Was that an attack? A reaction? What in the hell was it?

As the bear threw itself against the sharp confines of it's magical prison once more it let out another piercing screech, this one was a little worse and Roy's vision blurred even more. Every time it happened it seemed to hurt worse and the effects were lasting longer. It seemed to Roy that this happened whenever the damned bear hurt itself.

Roy did the only thing he could think to do and surrounded the bear with his smoke coffin spell, shouting out to Luna as his smoke enveloped and collapsed violently on to the bear paralyzing it for at least a little while. "Luna! You have to undo your spell! The screech comes every time the bear hurts itself against your magic. I can keep it preoccupied but if the screaming keeps up we won't last long much longer."

Roy turned around to look at Luna and to his surprise as he took his eyes off his target he noticed that his invisibility had failed him. He and his four clones and fifty smokes hands were now visible to the world, the spell had disturbed his concentration so deeply that it even affected his magic. Lilith seemed to take notice of this and had already moved away from the circle of hands that had surrounded her and was about to pummel her into the dirt. Damn! He had lost the element of surprise, been forced out into the open, and his most powerful attack which he imagined would have put their enemy down almost immediately had been revealed as well. For a moment Roy thought that this couldn't get any worse. Little did he know that he hadn't even seen the worst of it yet.

As Roy scowled at his opponent Lilith he thought he saw for a moment in her someone that he knew...no, no it wasn't possible. She had been dead for years, and she was taller, and she just couldn't be here...But still Lilith's appearance had changed little by little to resemble her. Roy closed his eyes and shook his head. This was a mind game. This was just an illusion. A cheap trick to fool him. But how...how did she know about her Roy thought to himself.

It didn't matter, Roy wasn't sure how Luna was going to react to what he told her, but either way he might have to find a way to keep that bear at bay and help put Lilith down. These opponents were slowly becoming more and more difficult. Roy imagined that this was where there strength lay, in draining their opponents physically and mentally, growing stronger during the fight while they grew weaker. Roy opened his eyes again a fierce look of determination in his eyes. He would not be beaten here, not in body, or in mind. He had outsmarted and conquered more opponents than this child had ever even fought. His smoke chain formed in his hands as he waited for his ally and his opponent to make their move.

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Luna Jaeger 11th May 2017, 5:09 am

Luna loathed to think of what would happen if Roy got his way, he would become targeted by the same effects she had saved herself from - so be it. Most like Roy would believe of Luna that she was too sure of herself and that it would serve to bite her in the end, however this was entirely untrue as Luna knew the depths of her own limits very well and knew the limitations to how far she could push someone generally. She knew that it was the best idea to keep this magical item under wraps regardless of ancillary effects, for the moment it was released the bitch would begin to use it to break their minds. It would be much worse than some minor illusions, too. Regardless, it was best to work together with her team and so Luna listened to the wisdom of Roy and released her hold over the bear - the vines absolving into ash and away. Soon enough, the vortex of black winds would also subside.

Still, this had granted Luna enough advantage to utilize her next spell even while the others in her spell retinue were unable to be called upon at this very moment. First of all, the other effect she had placed upon the bear would be taking it's toll right abut now by reducing the bear's speed by 25% and reflexes by 15%. Hopefully, that could be used to help them against the spells which Lilith and the bear used in tandem - making some of them more easily dodged.Of course, some of Lilith's spells couldn't be dodged and were going to be downright brutal, hence why Luna had trapped the bear. At this point she could not longer foresee all possible outcomes and more-and-more of the future seemed grim. Not to be discouraged, the woman carried on. She couldn't give any thought to the bear at this moment, there was a window before it would be able to act and Luna had full intention of using it before the two were rejoined.

"Sky God Drop! Luna yelled as she was fully surrounded within a midnight-hued aura of living wind which crosses through their body as multiple air currents with a pair of black draconic-like wings entirely of wind as she released a powerful uppercut into Lillith, throwing her higher with gale-force winds before taking flight into the sky to just above Lilith. Luna now released the wind into a devastating punch while the black winds that surround her cleave through Lillith and into Lillith's flesh in the visage of a black dragon. The force of the blow would also serve to knock Lillith down hard into the ground for visible damage. This would only further serve to throw Lillith onto the ropes, though seemingly not without consequences. While the two had made eye contact, Lillith had somehow used an eye-to-eye enchantment which had gotten into Luna's head. Regardles,s Luna had tricks up her own sleeve and had used the contact of fist to Lillith to activate two of her damage over time spells to further deal damage to the foe.

To the real world is was only a second, but ti Luna it was several ingratiating minutes of torture. The woman who had earned herself the nickname 'Nightmare Lillith' had somehow managed to target the most vulnerable chink in Luna's mental armor - most likely as a last defense. Luna had now been forced to relive one of the most terrifying memories of her past - her mind churning to the picture of fiery hellscape of crackled ember and scorched earth within the ring of the pen where the young three-year old was currently being held. She couldn't be killed by the pain but it was enough to stop her from concentrating, oh how it hurt as tears streamed down the sides of the toddler's cheeks. Horned demons, fiendish-looking humanoids with a horn at the forehead much in the style of a unicorn coincidentally but with an upward curvature, warded the gate her her little pen. A man approached, obviously more human with black hair and a black moustache - her father. The gentleman's amber eyes matched her own, and he seemed to have  barbed tail. He was quite handsome a man, and he had even been nice to her on a few occasions - this was not to be one such occasion.

Irithiel opened the gate and stepped through, and with a wave of a hand the embers and coals dissipated. With a wicked smile, he looked to Luna. He demanded the little toddler undergo a procedure and when she denied, Irithiel beat her blue. He took pleasure in the pain which his own daughter had suffered during this beating, until eventually she accepted out of fear. With a wicked grin, he led her off to where this procedure would take place. The gem would be interred into her to give her powers to protect the realm - she would become his living weapon, he explained. A cooked looking man strapped the toddler Luna into a chair and began the infusion process. Luna screamed out in pain as the memory faded - she had effectively lost some sense of sanity by this mental attack.

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 14th May 2017, 12:13 am

Roy saw Luna Luna release her hold on the bear and as the thorns fell to ashes around the stuffed animal Roy's chains grabbed it almost immediately. Normally he wouldn't be able to do this against a mage that was of greater power than him. But as this was merely an enchanted item of hers he imagined that this would work out well enough. He yanked the bear towards him with the chain even going so far as to fling it behind him, however while the bear was in the air Roy began to fling the bear to the left and carrying through with the swing he he began to give the bear some spin.

And continuing this motion Roy eventually built up some speed, soon enough the bear was whirling around in circles, cutting the air with a sharp hiss and Roy was barely able to hold it at the end of his speed. But summoning up his strength and giving out a loud roar he kept it up long enough to the point where the bear merely seemed to be a blur streaking the sky forming a brown ring in the air, and finally he released the bear from his smokey chain with a sharp whizzing sound the bear was sent hundreds of yards in the other direction, far away from the battlefield.

That should take care of the damned creature for the rest of this fight. Given that just hurting the bear was enough to release it's most powerful attack that was the only way he could think to take it out of the battle without damning themselves in the process. He was thankful that Luna had heeded his request and released her spell, the amount of damage the bear would have sustained being ripped from it might have been enough to shatter Roy's entire psyche. Then again if they took to long taking Lilith down his actions would be meaningless. He doubted his throw would even damage it, so unless they could put Luna down within the next five or ten minutes it would be back.

The way that Luna was going against lilith he was sure they could put their enemy down in that time. If they could the magic that gave birth to that horrible monster should also fade. Still though she was just a child. He refused to truly unleash all of his power against her. Even if it meant risking his life he would only try to subdue her.

While Roy was busy launching the animated bear into the distance his clones got busy helping Luna take down Lilith. They waited for their moment to strike however, and it seemed to come once Lilith had made eye contact with Luna. She must have fallen under the same spell that Roy had, and was being disillusioned with images from her past. Roy's clones did not really have minds of their own, and so they would most likely be fine in a drawn out fight with Lilith. As Luna fell under the spell Roy's clones and hands sprung in to action, one of them diving behind her to attempt grabbing her, the other's taking tactical positions around her.

His hand smashed down in front of Lilith pushing her back slowly, step by step until she found herself in the grasp of Roy's clone. She struggled in his grasp to make eye contact with him, and barely succeeded. His clone showed a pained expression that also registered on Roy's own face, it seemed that she could worm her way into his mind even through his clones. But not nearly as much as direct eye contact. His clones grip loosened and about twenty odd fists missed because of it as she dodged them.

However as she dove out of the way of those fists three of Roy's other clones sprung in to action and one of them attacked Lilith from all sides with his own barrage of smoke creations. She jumped over these and seemed to continue avoiding his attacks. But Roy's two remaining clones had anticipated this and as she dove in to the air his last remaining fists came down from the sky and pummeled her back in to the ground, twenty in total dealing three B ranked attacks worth of damage to her in one hit.

Roy himself was busy laying down another trap for as his clones went in to action. He wasn't sure how long it would be until Lilith jumped back in to the action but as soon as she did Roy would be ready. For the moment he merely placed his glamour on his chain, making it invisible and slowly snaking it towards Lilith.

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Luna Jaeger 17th May 2017, 7:27 am

Luna had to applaud the method employed by Roy in disarming the child wizard of her bear, she hadn't thought to remove it entirely from the battlefield. Just went to show that having a partner on a job was always a good thing - they could think of ways to get out of a situation which you hadn't thought of yet. They could ass a new perspective to a job with their magical abilities and spells and with their perspective, something Luna didn't take advantage of when it came to partnering up. Just as she had been thinking of several steps ahead of her foe so had Roy been preparing his own plans. Hopefully, with their combined capabilities they could deal with the issue at hand without having to resort to permanent injury or death. She could already sense the child's energy reserves waning through the use of spells and through Luna's own... manipulations. Speaking of, it was about time for Luna to use that trick again in the near future - perhaps they could take her in rather than knocking her out.

Luna watched as Roy worked, employing his smoke hands to batter Lillith without much resistance really, meanwhile her own spell was ticking away while Lillith attempted to dodge the smoke hands. The timing was there to knock her out after all things were to be considered, she would be teetering on the edge. Focusing her 'vision' on the smoke hand attacks, Luna began to move in an encircling pattern. with highly advanced algorithms working out in real-time within her mind she knew exactly where best to place herself so that Roy could knock her out or barring that, she could. Like a vulture, the woman moved in towards Lillith for the pincer. Then, for a split second, she knew that this was too easy and stopped in her tracks.

It was a good thing too, for staring right into the area where she had been running to just moments ago was the bear - battered up somewhat from the lashing from Luna's vines. It seemed as if the girl could call upon the bear should it not be held up such as with her vines or with the chain. Luna quickly juxaposed to the side and behind the bear, avoiding it's front and thereby avoiding the chains as the girl Lillith commanded, "Crippled Soul!"

What Luna hadn't seen coming? The bear was no longer a Bear... it had taken the form of the woman who Luna knew deep down within her to be her mother. The radiant woman of golden light with hair the color of the dark cosmos with piercing violet eyes. A pair of golden wings shed from her back as Luna slipped for the moment. She fell for it, taking damage from the mental assault, however managing to somehow keep her mind in one piece. She seemed to look weakened by the mental attack, however she pushed through and struck the child Lillith in her sternum - thereby drawing out 10% of her mana again. At the same time, her arm looped back and slammed into the stomach of Lillith, finally knocking her over as whatever magic had been in the bear faded. Luna slumped down, barely able to stand as she held the unconscious child over her shoulder. "What do we do now?

Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna Empty Re: Nightmare Lilith: Roy and Luna

Post by Roy the Chanter 11th June 2017, 8:36 pm

Roy watched as Luna finally finished off that dreadful nightmare of a child and raised her prone body up on to her shoulder. Just in time to as that bear seemed to be making it's way back to the battlefield. He had thrown it pretty far but the fact that it was within eye shot at this point was still awfully impressive. He would have to work on that move a little bit more to make sure that didn't happen again. But ah well, it seemed that things worked out well enough, and with their combined effort they managed to take a threat that was considerably higher level than they were, and that was pretty impressive.  He found himself breathing heavily and collapsed on the ground. Not out of fatigue or stress but simply because he wanted to. If at least for a moment.

He held up his hand and tried to summon a bit of fire. It appeared but wavered and it was weak. His reserve of magical power was extraordinarily low. It was rare that he released  so much magical power all at once. He was used to throwing himself in to every battle but in this one he was racing against the clock, and his opponent only grew more effective with time. He couldn't pick out when he wanted to strike and defend he simply had to play it all by ear. That was generally his own strategy especially when fighting against stronger opponents. Having the tables turned on him in that way was something that he just wasn't used too. Ah well he supposed, it had all ended well enough and now they were about to receive what he hoped was a lucrative reward for the capture of this girl.

Jumping up to his feet he took out his pipe and began smoking it again. His shoulder's slumped and he relaxed a little bit. He raised his free hand in to the air and summoned a cloud under Lilith so that Luna wouldn't have to carry her back the whole way. After this he heard her asking him what they should do next. Roy responded. "Let's get her back to the council now. I think we're supposed to get a reward for this. Plus I've got some business at the guild." You're pretty good Luna. Glad you were here or I'm sure this would have been more than I could have handled. If I were you I'd be asking the guild for a new rank sometime soon. After you've done that we should spar sometime." Roy smiled as he asked her the last question. He was almost sure she would accept and the challenge excited him.

Roy would have to ask Luna for a fight sometime. It seemed like her magic was perfectly crafted to counter his. Just fighting her he was sure that he would be able to improve himself and the way he used his own magic. After all enemies may come along that he simply must fight, and they might well have similar magic. He should learn how to overcome his weaknesses, after all it was only then that he would be able to find his greatest strengths.
