    Job Details:

The team had assembled, an A rank Wizard younger than Imai had been killing people left, right and center all over Fiore and wasn't stopping. The Council had said this young girl was a serial killer but that just wasn't true. Serial Killers had M.O.'s and patterns they stuck to. Many of them laid low after a while but this young woman was destroying all life in any town she went to, leaving nothing but death in her wake. They were sure she was not someone who could be brought back and needed to either be arrested or put down but Mashyuu didn't think the same, nor did Itsu. As the team came to a lone village that was silent. Mashyuu's glowing blue eyes scanned the various buildings all of witch were a single story tall and had thatched roofs with stone worked walls. Hell the "defensive" walls of the village were only as tall as Mashyuu's knees. He didn't feel safe and pressed a hand to his black vest, a moment later it flashed and changed to a white and orange trimmed vest that was tied tight at the center with a wide red belt and his black pants changed to a matching white and orange trimmed pair of martial arts pants with wrappings on his hands and feet. He patted his newly given bracers and felt the magic flow through them. Mashyuu wasn't sure how big the village the team had arrived at was or even what the name of it was, the sign had been splintered to saw dust about a mile back. He took a big inhale of air and let it go softly. "Okay team. We don't know what we are up against or what kind of magic we are dealing with. This is the worst case situation. Based on what we do know, this town is likely already dead but the magical power here is apparent. We need to stop this girl and bring her to justice. Not kill her. We may run into bounty hunters or even other Wizards we know but we can't let them kill this girl, its not the right thing to do. At the very least try to stay in pairs. There are four of us and we have worked together more than enough to know what we are each capable of. Is everyone ready?" Mashyuu asked then looked to his left and right to Itsu, Kenna and Imai. The sun was starting to rise behind them, putting the group in an orange light that was starting to wash over the small village...

”… It’s so sad with this silence,” the red-haired mage expressed. The village was quite emptier than he knew, though, as he merely took basis in the surroundings that he could reach with his eyes now. To think that someone could wipe out life so easily… he had to do his best if he wished to complete the special mission given by the Magic Council to put a stop to the massacres caused by a mere girl. Speaking about her age, it was unreal for potentials and powers like that to embody such young ages, but then again, Imai was no normal either. He couldn’t just guess that magic was for the old people like Mashyuu, after all.

The Earth Mage proclaimed this as ‘the worst case situation’. That meant that they were in, like, a state of emergency or something like that; you could also say that they were in ‘extreme mission mode’, too. Imai had no proper term for it, but he quickly replied: “I’m beginning to worry for the other bounty hunters... I mean, not all of them are using magic, eh? What if the girl is intending to lure them all out for a huge kill streak?” He was mostly just mumbling conspiracies to himself, but Sei kept flying around his head to stray his distracted mind and focus a little, “Okay, okay… I’m always ready, Mt. Dragon!” The boy quickly adjusted his telescope and Sei’s position on top of his head. “Tag teams, huh… I did well with Itsu, so I’ll just group up with her if that’s fine with you!” Standing before the summoner, he did some quick bows in a comic way to express ‘I’m in your care, lady’. Besides, the younger male wanted to be of good use yet again, in which he was quick to go.

The looming darkness over this seemingly deserted village was painstakingly present; the silence that echoed through it was drenched in death. Nobody needed to use their imagination for it to be noticed, this place was covered underneath a veil of death noticable even from the distance Kenna now stood at. She saw Mashyuu’s, Itsu’s and Imai’s silhouettes on the horizon and stared at them for a while until Avide’s hot breath tickled her neck. Turning her head to look at the large dragon’s crimson eyes, her hand sliding up his silver scales to comfort it. The large dragon hadn’t wished leaving her side ever since the guild had fallen, and even now he faltered at the command to stay behind. It was weird to see such a large beast try to imitate what the maiden thought to be an attempt at puppy-dog eyes and chuckled, kissing him on his rough, scaled nose. ”I know Avide, I’d rather have you with me as well… but your size will prove to be an issue if we want to stay low-profile. I’m sorry.” She whispered against his scales, in similar fashion as people would whisper gentle words to their mount. A look of disappointment and hesitation seemed to fill his eyes, as if it was contemplating on something. ”Don't worry, I’ll be fine. After all, you’ll be looking over me from above, won’t you?” The ravenhaired maiden shushed her companion, cupping its head in her hands and holding it as easily as regular people would when doing this to a puppy. Superhuman strength always comes in handy, especially with an enormous dragon as pet. Avide sniffed and sighed, complying at last and lifting its head out of his master's hands. He spread his wings as far as the trees would let him and set off with a mighty leap, beating its wings only once before he disappeared into the distant sky. Kenna kept on watching till Avide had vanished within the clouds before she turned on the back of her heels and took a sprint to join the rest of the team again.

Having rejoined the rest just at the time that Mashyuu was explaining they might better split up in pairs, in order to better scan the proximity of the village and find out who their actual opponent was. Kenna swayed to her lover's side and gently took his arm when Imai chose to go with Itsu. "Then I guess it's the two of us again, my dear. Her voice said sweetly, all the while her eyes watched her surroundings carefully. This sensation made her feel extremely uncomfortable, the presence of lingering souls still awfully present further into town. "We better get going... I don't like it here at all, Mashyuu. Death is too apparent within this village."

Imai, always someone who was concerned for others lives suggested moving quick just in case there were still other hunters around so that they wouldn't get hurt and asked to move with Itsu, bringing a small blush to her soft features. "Oh, I think someone has a crush on me. Come on Imai-Chan. I'll show you my new spells. I'm sure you're gonna love em." She said while wrapping her arm around his and dragging him off into the village to look around. Mashyuu snickered at the pair until Kenna laced her arm around Mashyuu's and his flesh burned red for just a moment until he felt the soothing sound of her voice hit his ears. He smiled and glanced at the beauty with a soft chuckle. "Oh really? Couldn't you just.. ya know, bring everyone back from the dead again? Honestly I feel like that was cheap. While it was unfortunate that they passed on, it was their time. Lets not mess with the natural order of things again. Besides, you have nothing to fear, that dragon back there smells terrible but is watching you like a hawk, plus I'm here." He winked at the beauty and flexed his forearms, not as a way of showing off but to use the magic in his bracers, creating a sort of magic carpet of earth to float the duo up into the air. Mashyuu glanced at his lover and while the situation they were in was serious he couldn't help but sing a song. Slowly the carpet of earth they were on started to spin and he grasped her hands tightly. "I can show you the world! Shining Shimmering, Splendor!" Mashyuu started to sing until he saw a swarm of swords flying up from the ground behind Kenna. His glowing blue eyes went wide and he pointed to his carpet of earth and threw his elbow up. "Earth Gods Stone Wall!" He commanded, creating a wall of stone behind Kenna to block the swords! The sounds of blades slamming into stone echoed ou behind Kenna but the blades, four in total continued on only to stop at her back and simply float there. Mashyuu winced, thinking he couldn't stop them only to noticed they stopped themselves. "Uhhh are those real?" He asked.

"So, Imai. Do you like being part of this team? We have done a few jobs together now and I can't tell for sure. You do seem to look up to Mash for some reason... I really can't figure that out, but I do understand looking up to Kenna. She can clean Mashyuu's clock any day of the week. So what's your story?" Itsu questioned while resting her head on Imai's shoulder.

”F-For real? That’s so cool, you have to show me sometime!” the light mage clenched his fists in excitement. Last time that Itsu used a spell, it was to conjure skeletons and various undead types, but other than that, he couldn’t recall any other, specific ability. Perhaps she could spawn an entire army? A skeleton horse? Whatever it was, he would surely love it. “Then I’m also going to show-“ he was going to reply, but her taking his arm surprised him. And just like that, the group would split up, Imai and Itsu moving towards the east of the village to look for the girl, while Mashyuu and Kenna took a glance around the other side.

This place sure was dry. He barely caught a glance of any hunters yet, and reminded of the job with Kirara, hunters could be very selfish. They had to watch out when signs showed up, but in the meanwhile… he couldn’t stop blushing as if he was on some kind of date. Not to mention just how soft Itsu was, he had to focus so much. “… M-Mhmm,” he stammered by her question, “… Well, M-Mashyuu might be a dry stone often... b-but he is a nice brother to me.” The stone head had been a reliable teammate and friend for the young star mage ever since he met him in that forest, the day where he got a first glance at the Earth God at hand. “B-But I do look up to Kenna, too..!” he assured her. The ethereal mage was a vast support and a sufficient role model for the childish male. “… Also, do those two have anything going on or something?” He was being honest, because Imai didn’t know that Mashyuu’s heart belonged to the Barbardium mage. Overall, he didn’t notice the connection that those two had to each other, and even if any signs had shown up, then he would’ve been quite oblivious to it. Also, he had to remove this darn blush from his face, before Itsu noticed. Making trouble at the start of a mission was no good for any of them.

Blades came flying across his legs and managed to pierce them… but no signs of harm took place. It would take a few moments before Imai noticed the massless swords, feeling as if his mind had reached its limit of restraint. “… Y-You see them too, Itsu?” he softly asked while having his eyes beneath his feet…

Kenna sighed and shook her head after hearing her love out about the happenings back in Motor City. ”If it was that easy I would… but it’s taxing, and although I can feel their souls, their bodies aren’t here. Or too far gone to do so. I can try, but then you’d have no use of me during this search, which I doubt you’d wish for. And how was it their time? I dunno, but they were there on the wrong day, wrong place, wrong time. Otherwise neither of us would be here too, had it been “their time”.” The Etherborn said, slightly offended by the shallow way her love thought about this matter. ”And I’m sorry to disappoint, but the natural order of things already far surpassed us… we both lived again, as vessels of gods, for crying out loud. You might be bound to the Earth, but I’m bound to the Universe through my body… it’s not mine. Neither is my mind, nor my magic… and as long as I have this gift, I won’t deny anyone’s call for help. Even if they’ve come to pass unrightfully. But fine, as you please, I’ll have Imai experience the harshness of a mass-murder and the selfishness of having the power to do something about it but not doing so for such futile reasons.” She gave the Earth mage a firm tug to bring him to a halt, only to figure that despite her inhuman strength, she still couldn’t bring him to stop moving. Godly perks, she guessed. So being dragged along as he flexed his arms, she only muttered her previous words with held-in breath. ”Souls know when their time has come, and they won’t fight it at all at that point, you idiot…”

She disregarded the comment about Avide having a foul smell until Mashyuu had created the magic carpet and helped her on, when the actual words hit home and she let out a little gasp of surprise. ”W-what do you mean, smell terrible?! Do you know how long it took me to give him a bath?” Pouting as the earthen carpet took both height and speed, Kenna didn’t bother with the fact she was probably acting like a child at this point and instead peered over the edge of the carpet into the depths underneath them. Although the village looked eerie, she still found it fascinating nonetheless. After a bit she turned back at the Earth God Slayer beside her, only to gaze into his deep blue eyes and watched as the grin on his face broadened as he grabbed her hands and started singing. She couldn’t help it as the red of a lingering blush crept onto her cheeks, and a gentle smile crossed her lips simultaneously, only to see the sudden panic popping up in Mashyuu’s eyes. Something seemed to be behind her that caused him to react in swift manner, as before she could even turn around to see what exactly was threatening her he’d already erected a stone wall to block the threat. The sound of something metal slamming into the stone surface echoed around them, making her shift her weight and turn around, only to gaze upon four levitating swords floating right in front of her face, motionless. Mashyuu, who sat beside her, watched carefully, posing a question that seemed all too just to ask. ”I don’t know. But,’ Kenna said as she stretched her hand and reached out for the swords. ”There’s only one way to find out.” Without much thought, yet trying to be careful enough to not make it needlessly dangerous, the raven-haired maiden reached out to tap the sword-tip closest to her, only to go right through it. She almost fell forward, having thought there to be something to actually touch. She frowned and got slightly closer, inspecting the illusive swords. A chuckle escaped her mouth as she looked up at the brown-haired man beside her. ”This… probably one of the best illusions I’ve seen thusfar.” She grinned happily; not realising that if Mashyuu would look upon her, they would see her irises split and a blooded crimson spil from them, overtaking he natural golden color to dye her eyes in the crimson hue. Her pupils would remain elongated like those of a snake. She blinked again, but the eyes remained eerie as ever; a deep roar echoed from high above, thundering throughout the clouds like booming thunder as if an omen to what was bound to happen. Unknown to them, yet the beast that soared the clouds above knew all too well what was bound to happen.

Itsu couldn't hide the smile she wore when Imai went silent as she grabbed him, she loved to make him flustered for the simple fact that he was so unsure of himself in many ways unlike Mashyuu but the two males had grown to truly respect one another and clearly looked at each other like family. "Of course you look up to both of them sweetie, they are very different in many ways but both have a lot in common too. But to answer your question, yes. Mashyuu and Kenna are..." Itsu leaned in close to whisper into Imai's ear just to tease him, almost moaning the word. "Lovers." Itsu's smokey voice whispered with a purr. Without warning blades flew from the sky and touched down on the ground after apparently ripping through the pairs legs, causing Itsu to yelp and try to jump. When her feet left the ground she scowled and glanced about while Imai checked the blades out and waved his hand through them. "Yeah I see em all right. Someone is playing a really messed up prank. I bet the killer actually used these sorts of illusions to give people a heart attack or something. This is some real crap." Itsu started to fume from the anger she was feeling in her chest. Who was this Wizard to kill so many and to use cheap magic like this in order to trick others? "Come on, we must be getting close if this person is using magic on us now. Lets keep looking but... you lead the way."

"I didn't ask to be brought back, and it turns out I wasn't really dead. I was in a comatose state. Eventually I would have awoken either way. Sorry, call it lingering thoughts but after being married to someone who believes in the natural order of things, I sort of subscribe to the idea that no matter what, if you die then it was your time. That isn't to say that you can't come back but I don't want to mess with that sort of power." Mashyuu explained himself to Kenna without raising his voice in order to avoid starting a fight of some sort with the woman who stole his heart. "Yeah, your dragon smells terrible.
You don't have enhanced senses like me. I can smell how much you cleaned it and dragons are naturally dirty creatures..."
But really none of that mattered in the end...

"Yeah, good tricks.... Now we need to find out where they came from. None of this makes sense. No bodies, fake swords, a ghost town. I think we are being played for fools and that damned beast is going to give us away more than we already have if it keeps roaring. Why did you bring him with us again?" Mashyuu glared up at the dragon, his natural instincts to slay the magical creatures kicking in and making his blood boil. If it wasn't for the fact that Kenna suddenly seemed so joined to the hip with the over grown monster he would have already attacked it. This was the second woman that he loved who had a beast so annoyingly large that it was almost comical to have around constantly follow the group around and it was just as pestering. "Might as well put that thing to use and have it lead the way then. Maybe the dark Wizard will attack it and reveal herself."

It appeared that looking up to both Mashyuu and Kenna was no problem to deal with; in his case, it would be like looking up to a mother and a father at the same time. That was a common thing to do for children, but then again, Imai was older than that, and about parents… they still hanged out back at Shirotsume, receiving letters from Imai about his various adventures with the Sabertooth guild. They knew about Mashyuu and Kenna and all the other guildmates, including Itsu as well, but because of his journey outside of the house for so long times, he needed at least some role models to guide him the way to true adulthood.

There was still a long way to go as he couldn’t stop shivering with a tomato-red face. Itsu didn’t have to move in so close to his ear just to tell him such an obvious thing… that he didn’t know of until now. It was just before he couldn’t focus on what was said and only felt her warm breath tickle his ear like a feather. “U-Uhhh…” he let out in quite an awkward moan. He needed a few seconds to get that in and thought: Huh… so that’s why that they sleep in the same room… As told earlier, it was so damn obvious. So now, back to the swords that floated around like mirages, afterimages; they didn’t pose any harm or damage, but something must’ve been their purpose. “W-What kind of joke is this..?!” Imai spoke up with a large, angered face. It could mean that the enemy was close given by the fact that magic was most likely being used against the couple, so when Itsu asked Imai to lead the way, he sparkled. “Alright, then, just stay close to and we’ll be safe..!” he proclaimed. No creepy child was going to bring him down in such a situation with him in the lead.

As he turned his head around again, it appeared as if a spear was about to stab his eye. Instinctively, he bent down his body in a hurry, having sweat trickle off his face. “A-A-A-Aarggh…” he stammered, “… W-Wait, is that..?” The view of Sei, the small alien who’d been dormant the entire time on his back, touching the spear with ease proved that it wasn’t an illusion like the swords. “… That’s not a trick,” he warned, “… She must be close now- CRAP!” His voice almost broke by the view upwards, spotting that the oh so heavenly sky had turned dark and began raining with… metal. Spears in large groups came flying down, which made Imai pull out his Pegasus. With a smooth move, he launched the bey off as his magic power synchronized with it, causing the bey to spin around him and Itsu. “Faster!” he commanded it, before a large hurricane was made which appeared to bounce off the falling spears for now, “T-This is unreal! Kenna nodded absently as the roar kept ringing through her head, she blinked several times, tried to keep her mind clear, but it became foggy for some reason. She all but liked it doing so, especially when the opponent at hand wasn't near. Taking no more heed to the dislike her lover had for her overly large pet, Kenna stood up and muttered something. They were no words, but rather weird sounds that didn't make any sense, neither to her nor anyone who would hear it. A frown appeared on her face as she realised the odd sounds she was making, swallowed and then turned at her lover. "I don't know. For some reason it doesn't want to leave my side, even if I order him to... and frankly," Kenna said as she stepped to Mashyuu's side and looked down to the ground deep underneath them, then back at Mashyuu. "I don't mind it at all. It might sound weird, but it kinda feels like he only belongs there, near me. I know his size is a nuisance, but he can be a valuable asset, I hope you can understand. Sure, he might not be now, but... don't ask me to send him away. I mean, he's like my own personal Itsu. Minus the boobs and the actual humanoid form." She added semi-cheerfully. She looked at the Earth God Slayer with her demonic eyes, still unaware of them, and smiled. "But I'll do as you ask for now. His roar may have alerted whomever's behind this, but that doesn't mean this carpet high up in the air didn't do so either. It's not like it's invisib- what the hell?!"

The Etherborn's eyes widened at the countless amount of spears that suddenly darkened the already dark sky, and watched how they started raining down on the two groups. Kenna growled and extended one hand, only to stop briefly when seeing a blinding blue light shot forward and making a large hurricane to bounce of the spears coming the others's way. Her hand shot forth again and with palm outstretched looked at all the incoming spears without batting an eye, her voice steady and confident as she went. "ETHEREAL WALL!" Kenna shouted, a magic circle manifesting right within the vicinity of her palm before erecting into a giant wall of pure ether-fused magic that shielded both her and Mashyuu from the impending spear rain and left-over spears that rebounded from Pegasus' attack. Making sure her stance was a sturdy one she'd be capable of holding for quite a while, Kenna held up the 30m barrier around them as the spears kept raining down. They broke and splintered against the see-through case of ether energy, all falling down to the floor as harmless pieces of scrap. Only once the downpour had seemingly ended did she dispel the barrier around them. "Those were some shitty 'illusions' alright... like hell, this girl really wants us dead apparently. You're right, Avide should be a decoy at this point. We're just sitting ducks at this point, on top of being in search of a needle in a haystack." Her eyes shifted unto the sky, and she inhaled deeply before gently saying his name. "Avide, descend for me and find that girl. Lure her out... you have my permission to use all means necessary, but watch out for the Imai and Itsu below us." She needn’t say more words than these or a large shadow broke through the clouds and became visible to those on the ground again.

Avide flashed past the earthen carpet, leaving a strong gust of wind in his wake as he lowered himself to a position below the carpet, and spread his wings in their full glory, covering a spanwidth that projected a large shadow unto the villagw underneath them. He roared, the sound bellowing off into the distance as he looked up only briefly, making eyecontact with both his master and the one who could most easily kill him. Yet he was no true dragon, but just took the form of one. He could not reveal his true identity just yet however… the time wasn't ripe for it, and his master’s mind not ready to be reminded of the burdens revealing it would bring. He was glad however to see the Slayer looking back disdainfully and showed the hint of a smirk in return before averting his gaze again. It showed his shapeshifting skills didn't only limit themselves to the looks, but also copied smell and aura. Avide growled lightly as he took in the scent that lingered over the village, finding something oddly alive covered underneath the stench of death. Avide opened its mouth and let out a bloodthirsty howl that echoed through the village, with a crescent shockwave of darkened red aura following in its wake. It covered up Kenna and Mashyuu in the air, while it did the same for Itsu, Imai and Sei on the ground, imbuing them with a power-enhancing aura, while it tried to find a target to deal devastating damage to.

A sharp scream came as reply to the final bits of the shock wave reaching the limit of their power before dissipating, and from a slightly ruined house a little girl exited, dressed in a black lolita get-up. She seemed incredibly young, the large teddy bear she held clasped within her puny arms only added to her innocent outlook. The aura of death and fear that radiated from her however wasn't, and it sent a shiver down Kenna's spine alike as the girl stared up at the large draconic beast in mid-air and giggled. A growl of pain escaped Avide’s large body, and before anyone could have reacted his eyes shot open wide, his wings paralyzed and he fell. Hard. The tremor of its large body smashing into the ground and destroying the brittle houses underneath him left little to the imagination. Consistent growling was the only thing the large dragon seemed capable of, and he seemed to squirm in pain and agony as the girl stepped up closer and closer to its large body, the pain in Avide’s cries becoming more pitiful and puny as she proceeded. Its eyes were wide open, pupils enlarged in pure fear, captivated in a mental circle he couldn't seem to break.

insert flashback here that will be added later:

What he saw was unknown to others, but it seemed to amuse the girl to see the mighty beast reduced to a miserable heap. Little did she know that Avide’s state had an effect on Kenna as well; the Etherborn was shivering all over her body, she felt cold and hot at the same time, felt her chest cramping and grabbed her heart in pain. Suppressing a sudden cry of pain Kenna sunk to her knees, her eyes burning as they shifted endlessly, her pupils eventually settling to a crimson hue with snake-like pupils. Her fingers dug in deep into the earthen carpet, hiding the fact that her nails were steadily growing into reddish claws. Another free hand grasped her forehead and she let out a pained groan. Skin seemed to decolorize and turn nearly grey, while the skin on her left shoulderblade tore open without reason, leaving it bleeding. ”Argh, my head--- it hurts so much. Make it stop!” Kenna nearly begged with a pained voice as she arched her back and heard something crack within her; the pain that suddenly shot through her body confirmed it to be one of her ribs. Another deep, almost primal groan escaped her body as she felt the headache worsening to the point she’d truly thought to have died. Then, just as quickly as it had started, it vanished. Gone… Kenna couldn’t place whether this sudden relief had been through Mashyuu’s healing or not, having been in too much pain to actually notice it properly. Staggeringly she pushed herself up unto her feet, feeling her head to be somewhat heavier than before, and wanted to rub it. She had not suspected to feel something  hard stopping said attempt, and panickingly tried to feel up on it. Her gaze then wandered to her lover’s face and she stared up at his, a look of panic reflecting from her now demonic eyes. She saw how a pair of horns, her horns, were reflected in his blue eyes. Kenna stared at her hands real quick, only to realize her skin had turned grey and her hands transformed into claws. She swallowed a lump and whispered softly. ”w-what’s happening with me…?”

Spears, hundreds of spears rained down from the dark sky towards Imai and Itsu while the young man led the way deeper into the village. Itsu shrieked and jumped to the side, narrowly evading a spear that barely missed Imai and his pet in the process. "That thing is real? If that's the case then we must be getting close, the sword is a warning... but the spears are her real magic?" Itsu reasoned until Imai pulled his strange top and caused it to spin around the pair, creating a wall of wind that blocked spear after spear. "This is to much! We can't hang out here for to long or we won't survive this! Resurrect!" Itsu called out. Her body was engulfed in a thick fog. When it cleared she had the lower half of a horse while she seemed to be wearing a set of armor on her upper half with a large ram's skull adorning her head. "Get on." She ordered the young boy sternly. Once he was sitting on her back Itsu lowered her body and took off as fast as her new form would carry the two, weaving between spear after spear until the pair took cover under a large over hanging roof.

Near by and above a loud roar filled the air and a crash shook the ground with a terrible quake. "What the hell was that? Do you know where it came from?" Itsu asked and started to look around, wondering if it was a fight or a foe coming from the heavens that was about to strike. "What if that girl isn't a girl at all but instead is a massive beast, ready to attack?" Itsu wondered and started to shake with worry. She was not the type to want to battle a Dragon, but if her friends were in danger she would rush to their side. If only she knew. "What do we do Imai? I put our course in your hands."

Mashyuu could sense how much the over grown beast meant to Kenna and couldn't help but sigh with annoyance while nodding his head at her. "Look, we have spent way to much time on this subject. We are on a job lets just finish it before we keep on with the Dragon... Oh and something is wrong with your eyes, you might want to get those checked out when we get back." He pointed at the way her eyes seemed to have changed shape. Nothing really worried him anymore after everything he had been through and this entire job and situation was starting to annoy him at his core. "Hm?" Mashyuu questioned and looked in the direction that Kenna did to see her cast a spell that shielded the pair from spear after spear while they rained down from the sky. Great,
so now the thing can't even warn of attacks from the level it's on!
Mashyuu thought to himself while controlling the earth carpet to try and help evade as many spears as they could.

"Those spears weren't fake, they wouldn't have broken apart against your spell if they were fake. Just like the sword that ripped through my wall but didn't do anything else. This is the real deal, we are close." Mashyuu explained with a hushed tone, unsure of weather or not the girl could hear and see the Wizards. Kenna's large beast shot past the two and moved down towards the village while roaring. This sparked a change in Mashyuu, still unable to control himself while under the effect of allies boosting his power, the man started to scream while a burst of black and brown light exploded out of his body and his glowing blue eyes flashed a neon like blue. Even while Kenna screamed and changed herself, she didn't seem to notice it. The Dragon fell to the ground as Lilith revealed herself and made her way towards the fallen beast of a Dragon. For a moment Mashyuu looked confused as to who he should do battle with, Kenna, the confused and clearly currently helpless, or the girl who had murdered an entire village. Mashyuu cracked a wide grin and dropped down off of his floating earth, landing between the Dragon and the girl. The grin that was on his face remained the same while the two stared one another down. Lilith raised her stuffed bear up and let it form into Kenna before she changed.

Mashyuu's head tilted to the left as if he didn't recognize her. The animal in the form of Kenna attacked while Lilith turned her attention towards Imai and Itsu! Mashyuu ducked a swipe that lashed out from the bears arm, cutting the air above Mashyuu's head. The out of control Wizard reached up, grabbed what looked like Kenna by the throat and twisted his body, hurling the bear high into the air. As it started to fall Mashyuu pulled his right arm backwards and let his black and silver glove glow with power as wind started to sweep all around the gloved fist. Mashyuu jumped up into the air and slammed his fist into the fake Kenna's face as hard as he could. "Sky Breaker!" His voice echoed out, launching the fake ten meters up into the air while the monster screamed, letting its voice echo in the air. The sound of its scream ripped through Mashyuu's head, causing him to stumble backwards and shake his head. The light that flowed from his body died down and left the Wizard staggering like a drunkard in a stupor, unsure of what was going on.

“Nggh..!” Imai was finding the spears insanely annoying. Why couldn’t they be just like the swords from earlier; hallucinations, illusions, afterimages that just phased you without the least harm? He kept moving as Pegasus spun a little to the other side in order to let the tornado of bluish blazes move around them whilst they were advancing into the village for a safe place. Although, it was quite impossible to find; the spears seemed to strike down into all the houses around them like raindrops that weighted tons each. Itsu suddenly spoke out and while Imai turned his gaze towards her, the more humanoid presence was switched out by a minotaur-looking figure. Heavy-armored, with the skull of a ram or a goat on her head, the transformation left his jaw open. “W-W-W-Woah! I didn’t know that you could transform, that’s so cool!!!” he burst out. It was only the second time that he’d discovered a minotaur-like being like what Itsu looked like, and he leapt onto the girl immediately after her command. Pegasus flew back onto Imai’s palm as Itsu simultaneously took off, causing Imai to suddenly grab for the horns on the ram skull in order to not fall off. Tears were bursting off his eyeballs like waterfalls during the charge. “W-Wah-Waaahhgh..!!!” He tried his best to hold on, while Sei had little to zero trouble in holding onto Imai’s back.

They managed to find shelter beneath a large roof. The spears couldn’t break through the metal infra structure that this specific roof was made of, so Imai could breathe in relief. Itsu appeared worried about the spears from earlier, and a large roar that sounded like emitting from a mighty beast in the background caught both their attentions, in which he spoke: “I-It must be that target’s magic…” He thought about Itsu’s next words and began having his eyes shining, “A massive beast? Like a large Dragon? Manticore? Wraith? Whatever it is, that sounds-“ His cheek was pulled by Sei in order to let him catch his focus again. He was getting interested in seeing that beast now that it was faintly confirmed by Itsu; then again, the roar from earlier was a good evidence. “Ach, ach, ach… I know, I know,” he excused to the little alien. Itsu began shaking in worry, and Imai began to feel that he really had a duty here, in which he quickly hugged her tightly to calm her down. “… Listen, I might not be the born leader like Mashyuu or Kenna, but I’m here with you. Just stay by my side, and no monster can take us down..!” he assured with a grin, “Besides, if we go by brute strength, then you might be the mightiest monster of all… hehehehe…”

Another sharp voice interrupted the star mage. It came from outside, and when Imai turned his face towards the exit, he saw a little, cloaked girl… her magic power was beyond terrifying. “… T-That’s her,” he warned Itsu, “…” The street between the two Sabertooth mages and Lilith went silent, only containing the sound of the wind passing through. “… Ngh!” He grinded his teeth a little, because this was so not him. He should’ve charged at her by now, so what kept him back? Was it fear?

Lilith didn’t seem to wait as long as him, because after a moment, a black gust approached the two mages. Imai quickly pulled up his arms to get ready when the fog took form of… another little girl? “… She must be using a clone spell now,” Imai concluded right off the bat. Although, when the entity approached, his jaw was about to dislocate again; that other figure was none other than an almost identical ‘Imai’s little sister’, Koguma. “K-Koguma-chan..?” Imai spoke out in shock. He knew that it was the outcome of Lilith’s magic, but the mere appearance was enough to catch him off guard as small needles were sent into his shoulder, pitch-black and damaging. Imai let out a voice of pain and backed away, trying to grab his balance again. Then, before he suffered more damage, he charged out into the air outside the roof; spears began to fall towards him immediately. “Shit..!” he spoke out as he quickly dodged them using his Heavenly Body Magic, “Falling Star!” His right fist was clenched as he began approaching Lilith with inhuman speed, sending a held-back uppercut up her chin. Yes, she was a little girl, but the job was clear; they had to arrest her. “Surrender!” he roared, watching his fist connect with the girl’s head...

Eyes flickered in confusion at first, trying to take it all in as she remained upon the earthen carpet in the sky as Mashyuu descended rather eagerly. She had not noticed his behavior had changed until he was well down in the ground, reacting more violently and out of control than usual. Kenna swallowed somewhat of a lump and felt her throat go dry as he fought a giant teddybear that suddenly morphed into a version of herself, and as the battle waged on, saw how Imai and Itsu too engaged in combat with the small girl not too far away from her beloved. The only thing separating them was whatever  remained of the houses where Avide had crashed into, as well as the dragon’s cringing body, which still let out pained grunts and squirmed as if it was having a nightmare. Something stung within the Etherborn’s heart when she saw the beast laying there so helpless, how her friends battled the opponents while she was stuck up here.

She growled softly and felt something burning underneath her skin. Her claws digged into the earthen layer underneath her and her eyes squinted as they glared at the girl, and then back at the transformed teddybear. A deep, inhuman sound escaped her body as she growled and nearly hunched over along the edge of the carpet, more like a predator than a human being. ”H-how dare they...ack-!” Kenna grasped her with horns adorned head and grunted as a sharp pain tore through her head, making flashes of an unknown memory cloud her mind. The image she saw made her cringe as well, only to then be fueled by flames as she saw it contained Avide as a humanoid dragon running away with a child held closely within his scaled arms. His face looked pained, and for a brief moment she felt as if the emotions of the man in her flashback were her own. And as magic fueled the sudden anger and hatred she started feeling, a voice resonated harshly throughout her mind, calling her to order within a moment’s notice.

”Do not let your mind be played by these foul tricks, child! Keep your wits about and fight the anger!!!” The deep voice demanded, not allowing much disobedience regarding it. The demonised maiden growled and shook her head, whispering back at the voice. ”Ah-Akhator? What’s happening... this, this urge to kill.” Kenna uttered, arching her back as another jolt of pain tore through her body and gathered in the middle of her upper back, between her shoulderblades. ”I… I know not for certain, but this is your blood’s true colors… A corruption of your past that snuck through and that seemed to have been triggered by unknown means, although I suspect the beast for being the culprit. And whatever that girl over there did.” Ahkator said in serious voice, for the first time in forever showing itself before in the physical form of a small flame. ”You cannot let it ruin through your veins freely child, for the consequences may be unable to be undone. Do not forget that!” He said, although not too fond of the information he gave to her. It wasn’t much, vague even, but it was something. The warning together with it too was something she could work with. Another growl escaped her body as she tried to get up in between another jolt of pain that coursed through her veins. Her eyes sought for her companions down below once more, but as soon as she saw Mashyuu staggering down below, felt something snap within her, unknowing that it wasn’t the enemy’s doing but effects wearing off.

The flaming heat she felt could not be stopped any longer, as hatred, anger and magic collided together. In an unguarded moment she let them roam free without resisting, allowing her to be engulfed within this mass of pure essence. Akhator’s roaring voice was overthrown by it, and her body reacted accordingly as his voice bellowed on within her mind. ”DON’T LET IT CONTROL YOU!!!! KENNA!!!!” But the damage had already been done, and she jumped off the earthen carpet, the tension of her jump destroying the remained of the spell. She soared down in a free fall, like a professional skydiver plummeting straight to her target. A portal appeared before her, moving along as she fell through and returned at the other side in a form far more different than the semi-transformed appearance she had now. Hair silver and glowing as her skin, not as pale but unearthly nonetheless. Horns protruding her skull even further, claws adorning both feet and hands alike, while her body no longer held her former clothing, but had been switched to revealing bits of armor; the skin of her arms up to her biceps, as well as legs up to her thighs had been reduced to a dark ashen grey, the rest radiant white. Gauntlets and grieves protected her demonic limbs, and her eyes reflected a killing intent like none other. A single wing, jet black in color aside from the crimson tip, stretched from her bare back and allowed her to float down into a proper landing… which she did not make. Eyes fueled with said rage that had triggered her transformation now locked unto the airborn version of herself, which was about to hit the ground and shrieked in high-pitched manner. Strange runes circled up her right arm, giving her a rush she all too gladly released upon the enemy at hand the hatred was regarded too. It’s scream was cut short as her fist connected with the face of her former self, which looked nothing like the appearance she had now, and smashed puppet and all into the ground underneath her. ”Eat this! BARBARDIUM FIST!” The illusion wore off and made the teddybear return to its original form, while the impact tore a crater around Kenna and the downed opponent. The fully demonized maiden stood up, towering above the plush with fiery eyes, teeth bared at it as she rose her fist again and unleash another punch unto the girl’s minion.

As spears once again began to fall on Itsu and Imai, the busty beauty raised her hands and charged lighting between them then exploded with power. "Lightning Lance!" She commanded as her body rushed her forward and she jumped into the air, catching and destroying spear after spear, leaving only a few for Imai to dodge. The moment she touched down on the ground again she noticed how Imai was reacting to what looked like nothing to her. "Her illusion spells must induce some kind of fear effect that kills people. Its' how she managed to kill so many without destroying the entire town! Mashyuu! Help Imai! I'll help Kenna!" Itsu shouted and darted towards the battle the demonic Kenna was having with the stuffed bear.

Mashyuu watched as Kenna exploded with rage and transformed further only to attack the bear and leave the group alone to deal with the young girl who had killed so many. "What the hell is happening to my team?" Mashyuu muttered when Itsu rushed past him, giving him orders to help Imai who at this point was starting to charge the dark Wizard with a glowing fist. "Do I even need to be here at this point?" He asked and headed over to the big dragon that he had the urge to kill before anything else. He placed his hand on the dragon's snout and sighed. "As much as it's in my nature to destroy you, Kenna wouldn't be happy if I did that and I want to make her happy before anything else. So you get a pass today monster. But if you ever upset her, I'll eat you alive. That is in no way a joke." Mashyuu warned the beast while light started to swirl around the God Slayer. "Light Dragons Healing Word: Cleanse." He muttered as prayers of solid light took shape around the beast and started to remove the curse placed upon it. "That should have you up in no time. Next time try not to go rushing into things." Mashyuu chided the Dragon.

Just as the Wizard finished his prayer a set of chains wrapped around Mashyuu and tried to hoist him high into the air. He laughed as the magical chains couldn't seem to lift him but did seem to hold him in place rather easily. Try as he might, Mashyuu couldn't break the chains and he was starting to get annoyed at the fact. "Well, this is rather annoying isn't it? Troublesome really. If only I had a way out of these damned things. Whatever will I do?" Mashyuu mused and glanced around to check on things. It was looking like Imai might actually need some help considering he seemed to be battling two things, even though Mashyuu could only see one. "Yo! Little Bro! Why don't you take a moment to recover your wits and tag back in after that! I can managed the little one for a bit!" Mashyuu shouted then exploded as he commanded his body to transform. "Earth Gods Sand Leap!" Sand, that was once Mashyuu floated to Imai's side and reformed into Mashyuu just after he smashed his fist into the girls head. "OH, are both of you going to play with me? I like to play games, don't you?" The small child asked in a very dark, almost heartless way. Mashyuu glanced at Imai then cracked his neck with a smirk plastered on his lips. "I do. Sadly your mind games won't work on me, I have two minds and one will always protect the other. I've dealt with your kind before! Oh and do you know what my favorite game is?" Mashyuu asked all while drawing closer and closer to his prey. "Tag! You're it!" Mashyuu's gloved fist condensed air as he pulled back and slammed his fist up into the girls jaw. "Enjoy this! Sky Breaker!" The blow sent the girl up off her feet but she simply grabbed Mashyuu's hand and pulled back. Unable to move him, she pulled herself towards him and drove the top of her head into his nose, causing blood to spray from his face as he recoiled and grabbed his nose. "Hahahhahha! I guess that makes me it again huh? Okay. What was your name? Lilly or something? Imai and I are about to put you down."

His fist connected well, but Lilith kept laughing as if nothing affected her. Her eyes caused a very creepy atmosphere to run over Imai, in which he quickly leapt back. That was smart of him, because in that moment, a large black pillar erupted from where he stood. If not for the instinct, he would’ve been toasted. “I’ll wipe that smirk off your ugly face, you..!” he ranted with an uplifted index finger, “Prepare to be punished!” Like some supernova, light erupted from his body and covered the entire area, surrounding both Lilith and the embodiment of his little sister. However, the light caused no issue for them, in which Lilith felt confident in Imai’s inferiority. However, the light itself wasn’t the attack. Imai could see her grin from his position, causing him to laugh as well; from above, a large rock was suddenly flying down at the two enemies. To be watched from afar, it caused a lot of light to emerge from the point of impact, but when the scene calmed down again, only Lilith was affected. The embodiment of his sister was long gone…

With a few bruises on her dress, Lilith focused her gaze on Imai. He was getting at her nerves, in which she went for a new strategy; her hand was lifted up, in which Imai quickly looked around to get ready for a dodge. Nothing happened to him, but he could hear chains erupt from the ground and attack Mashyuu at the other side of the road. “Ma-Mashyuu..!” he warned the rock, but the chains got him well enough. Imai was about to run over to him and undo the chains, but apparently, the Dragon God Slayer had the situation under control given by his speech. He even asked Imai to recover for the moment; the boy was still packed with mana, but he quickly accepted the suggestion. He was still a little to the side about the presence of Koguma-chan. “Alright, alright, but I’ll give you one minute. After that, I’ll go in..!” he replied as Mashyuu reformed from a dust cloud of sand beside the star boy. Mashyuu quickly approached Lilith, kind of reminding Imai of his own attack from earlier; the classic punch to the jaw. She was tougher than that, quickly grabbing his hand to refrain from being launched up. Thinking of what troubles Mashyuu might go through, Imai got an idea. “Sei, go and support Mashyuu’s speed..!” he commanded his alien companion who quickly responded by landing on the rock mage’s shoulder. It would purr a little to ensure Mashyuu that it was no trouble before sending off a yellow light, much similar to Imai’s magic. Mashyuu’s body would react by lighting up the same color as his speed would increase drastically. “Sei will help you with your speed! Now shove that boot up her face..!!!” Imai roared from the sidelines.

Kenna appeared to completely demolish Lilith’s teddy companion. Imai quickly made his way over to her, suddenly noticing what transformation that Kenna had been through. Her entire body had changed to that of an ethereal creature, and Imai’s eyes shone like never before. “OOOHHHH~” he almost moaned, mental breakdown, “You never told me that you could do that! You look so neat, Kenna..!” Despite what might’ve happened to her, his adventurous sense was having a good time in the presence of her new form. The teddy bear could be seen as mere remains of plush and fur in the middle of the crater…

Kenna looked up upon hearing a familiar voice calling out to her, her white ethereal hair fluttering softly around her face and horns as she did. A frown appeared on her face as she stared back at Imai, who seemed more ecstatic about her new appearance than she was, and showed so with an overly happy eagerness. It was odd to see someone so cheerful when seeing a demon, but the fact he did do what he did made it easier for Kenna to make peace with her demonic looks; after all, she valued her teammates’ opinion more than anyone else’s. Taking a step forward, away from the teddy bear and towards Imai, the Etherborn walked out of the crater, each step cracking the ground even further underneath her feet. Her voice sounded like many spoke at once as she talked. ”Imai… you think I look awesome as this-- this thing?” The Etherborn asked in disbelief, head slightly tilted as she drew closer, unaware of the girl’s minion pluche gradually regaining conscious and gather its stuffing again to form a whole once more. It was only when she was about to climb out of the crater, with one hand clasped around the ledge of said crater, that she heard its movement and felt its presence. Afterwards things went very fast; Kenna disappeared in a blur, appearing right in front of the teddy bear with gleaming feral eyes and bared fangs. Her hand drew backwards and she slashed at the pluche, tearing open the soft belly before it could search for a fear to change into. As her demonic self Kenna had yet to recall what her fear was, so even the greatest of mages couldn't pull out her fear, as she had no memory of it. The teddy bear contorted and spasmed as it tried to transform into a fear from her human self, but the Etherborn had already reacted before they could do anything; she tapped the plushie’s head, whispered a two little words. ”Heavenly Supremacy.” A large magic circle spawned in front of her, like a barrier between the attacker and the receiver, yet not defensive of nature, and had wave after wave of grey, wailing spirits chime from within said magic circle, all called forth to heed her magic’s calling. They tore through the plushie at a fast pace, strong and willing, yet relentless to the coton tissue that its body was made off. Once the spirit waves died down, all that remained was filling as far as the eye could see. Kenna didn't bother giving it another look, deeming it defeated in its current state, and casually walked back towards Imai as she had first intended to. Crawling out of the crater and finally returning to the cosmic mage’s side, Kenna stood tall and naturally menacing, her wing folded against her back and her hair flickering in the setting sun’s last light that reflected upon the houses.

She nodded at Itsu, who too had been near, grateful for not having butted in while she had used her spells. ”Thank you for being willing to help… but I’ll have to refrain you from doing so…. Or at least not to get near me when we engage in combat together. This body is overflowing with energy and prowess, yet I seem to lose myself to it, as if it's not stabilized yet. I wouldn't want to hurt you by accident.” The demonized mage said, staring off at Mashyuu and the little girl having their stand-off.

Avide on his part in the meanwhile had taken in the Earth God Slayer’s healing spell and soon felt its mind returning to clarity, it’s muscles regaining their vitality and strength. Yet the words the Slayer told him made him snarl gently as he stood back up, towering above both Mashyuu and the girl who were fighting their own battle. He wished to aid the mage who was so dear to his master’s heart, yet knew that from this range he couldn't get a proper shot without hitting him too, so the dragon retreated back some more, batted its wings and took the sky again, only to land again behind Itsu, Kenna and Imai, seeking for his master’s confirmation. The demonic view of Kenna didn't seem to bother him in the slightest as he nudged her back with his nose, his eyes showing to be an exact copy of Kenna’s, which made the Etherborn frown as she turned for a moment, patting its nose. ”What… or rather, who are you, Avide…? And what was that- that dream?” She asked with a possessed voice, only to be replied to with a darker possessed voice that mentally penetrated her thoughts. ”It seems I owe you an explanation. In due time, all will become clear. For now, focus on that child the Slay-- Mashyuu is fighting. We will talk afterwards.” Avide’s eyes narrowed as he corrected himself, and then nudged her again to go forth. Kenna nodded, and looked at Imai and Itsu separately. ”Shall we give Mashyuu a hand…? We have a little girl to restrain, after all.”

Blood leaked out of Mashyuu's nose as he grinned and licked his upper lip clean. The girl could throw a head that was for sure. Shame she couldn't move him, proving that she was over all a lower ranked Wizard than he was. Mashyuu pulled his hand back and pushed it open palmed out towards the small, evil girl. "Earth Gods Combo: Part One!" The spell was Mashyuu's standard opening for a flurry of offensive magic. Three pillars of stone came up and slammed the dark Wizard in the spin and legs, almost knocking her over in a single blow, Mashyuu's magic power amplified by the bond he and Mefitis had made a little while back. The woman rolled toward Mashyuu as he spun around and drove a straight kick into her face, knocking her backwards yet again and down the street just a little. Like a God among men, Mashyuu flexed his arms and the ground under him exploded up and floated the Slayer into the sky. He pointed at the ground under Lilith and shouted. "Earth Gods Combo: Part 2, and Earth Gods Explosive field!" Fist the ground under the stunned girl opened up and swallowed the girl until only her head was exposed, then the ground constricted around her just before lighting up. A series of blasts went off where she was stuck, hitting her with stones so hard that when the ground let her go, Lilith was almost out cold from the series of blasts. Mashyuu started to chuckle at the entire scene, seeing that he was easily starting to over power the girl. The murderer who should have been behind bars long ago. He spared a glance down to his team, and Kenna in particular who was looking good, even if she was a demon or some sort of hybrid. It didn't matter since he wasn't a Demon Slayer.

Slowly Lilith stood up from the explosive blasts and glared at Mashyuu who had taken his eyes off the prize. The fool would regret doing that if it were up to her. She lifted her hands and created a series of spears below Mashyuu, all pointing up towards the God Slayer on his stone. She clasped her hands into a pair of fists and launched the sharp spears up into the stone and through it, skewering Mashyuu on the spot, taking him out of the sky and into the ground hard. Mashyuu crashed into the ground below him and bounced with a sickening thud. Bones cracked as he barely writhed on the ground and exploded in gold light. Slowly his wounds started to seal, not nearly enough to keep him in the fight but enough to keep him from dying on the spot. Itsu gasped at the sight of Mashyuu hitting the ground and charged Lilith, her dagger spinning by the cord as she started to attack. Lilith simply smirked and pointed to the ground in front of her. Spears shot up and cut Itsu off from reaching Lilith, then waved her hand, causing a cage of spears to appear around the woman. Itsu screamed and started to attack the magical spears as her insanity started to sky rocket. Then out of nowhere she passed out and crumpled to the floor.

Next Lilith set her sights on Kenna and the scaled dragon. She grinned and spread her arms far apart then slammed her hands together. Spears shot at Kenna like a vice suddenly snapping closed. The result left Kenna falling to the floor until the dragon snatched her up in its large claw and took off high into the sky to try and keep her safe. Lilith ran her forearm over her head and glanced devilishly at Imai. "Poor little red headed Wizard. All alone now. Your friends are all defeated and do you really think you can defeat me where they all failed? Hahhahahahahaha!" She started to cackle while strutting towards the young man. The woman cracked her knuckles and shouted. "Nightmare Realm!" A black and red void surrounded Lilith and Imai, transporting them to a false world that rested between space and time, seemingly going on forever in every direction. There was no up down, left right or even center. Just a feeling of being alone and helpless. Now it was all up to Imai to save the day as he was no longer near his friends and teammates....

Slowly the dragon landed once Imai and Lilith were gone and Mashyuu rolled to his chest. His glowing blue gaze looked at the surrounding battlefield. He scooped up a hand full of earth and absorbed the energy in it, slowly healing him further. "What the hell hit me?.... IS EVERYONE OKAY!?" He shouted. First seeing Itsu then the dragon and Kenna. No Imai. He was in true danger and Mashyuu had no idea what happened to his partner. Slowly he crawled over to Itsu and grabbed one of the spears, harshly yanking on it until the spear snapped. He repeated this process six times until one of he spear walls she made was down and Mashyuu could pull Itsu from her confines. With one hand he grabbed Itsu and dragged her over to the dragon and looked at his beautiful lover, Kenna. "Sit tight everyone. I can fix all of this." Mashyuu gathered around the group and rolled to his back, blood continued to pool around the God Slayer as he gasped and tried to focus on the magic he had remaining in his body. Me clasped his chest and started to speak, barely able to keep himself from going into shock from the spears that had ran straight through him. "Light Dragons Favor." He whispered. Hundreds of small dragon like lights fluttered around the four, giving everyone an equal amount of healing magic, not enough to completely heal anyone but enough to do a good amount of it.

By the time Imai had returned Mashyuu was sitting on a stone near where they would return, the group had figured that they couldn't have physically moved that fast and were under the effect of a spell of some sort. The beaten and battered God Slayer held Kenna's hand and used his other to wave at Imai. "Yo, Imai, good job man. You did what we couldn't.
So how about you turn this killer in and we can collect our reward? Don't worry everyone is safe and sound... in a relative meaning."

Kenna’s reaction to his comment appeared more surprised than embarrassed or anything else, seemingly because of her opinion to this transformation. He barely concluded yet what kind of creature that she had become, but it wouldn’t change much of his expression anyway. He was an admirer of many things, and this wasn’t the first time that Kenna had impressed him. It was the same case back at the cave, so he couldn’t really react any other way than this. “No… I think that you look MARVELOUS!” he replied to her rather insecure question. It was as if she didn’t see the same in her new form as he did; all that he felt was a large amount of mana erupting from her very fingertips. It even reminded him of Mashyuu a little. S-So much magic power…, he thought as she was about to climb up of the crater, while he reached out a hand to try and help her up. However, as he was just inches away from her grasp, Kenna went out in a blur, completely gone from the view. Imai had to blink a couple of times to let his brain function again as he looked around, only to spot her over at the teddy bear which she struggled with previously. It was still alive? Last time that he checked, it had gotten pretty damaged due to everyone’s contribution, but even the plush had a lot of endurance. It would be much more difficult with the very source of its magic, then…

Her fangs appeared to do the trick and rip open its stomach as Imai was recovering a little more. It was also good, because the amount of mana coming from her was enough to even make Imai’s skin sting a little. It was a damn good magic supply that she possessed, that girl. The teddy bear seemed to be overflown by a horde of spirits that rose from the magic circle that spawned beneath her feet, tearing its inner into oblivion as they entered its cotton body.  When it exploded, Imai covered his face with an arm, spotting that the cotton flew in all directions from the scene. After a couple of seconds, it finally began calming down again, and Imai could finally look back up to Kenna walking back towards them. “… That. Was. NEAT!” he commented with shiny, sparkling eyes, “You showed that darn ted who the boss is! Good job..!” That was also when Kenna spoke about her magic, or rather, her body; the very same magic power that Imai saw clearly was really beginning to pose a trouble as it sounded to be unstable.

“Yeah… it’s like four-five versus one now, let’s jump in now,” Imai replied. He pushed himself up from the ground and began approaching the scene where Mashyuu was showing this little kid who the real powerhouse was. His Earth God Combo was devastating, causing massive cracks to shatter the surface and cut off Lilith’s domination, turning the tables to his advantage. With the scene in front of him, Imai’s gloves glowed up, preparing him for combat as Sei rested on his shoulder. It was smart, because the unexpected happened right after; as Mashyuu appeared to have the upper hand, Lilith made a comeback by spawning black spears out of nowhere which put a good hurt on the Earth Mage. “Mashyuu!!!” Imai shouted by the view, at the same time spotting Itsu rush to his aid like the comrade that she was. Imai followed troop right beside her, but the force of instinct caused him to leap to the side as Lilith targeted them both. His eyes could briefly see Itsu getting surrounded by shadowy objects, her shouts and screams echoing through the cosmic mage’s mind. “Itsu, no..!!!” he roared out in shock. Crap, Lilith was targeting everyone but him; even Kenna behind him was attacked as well. He tried to leap back to her aid, but he only found her assaulted body being lift up by Avide. “…” His eyes were quite widened by the scene, his head slowly turning back towards the demonic presence. Her words appeared to target him now, realizing his state of solitude now that everyone appeared to be out for the moment. His teeth grinded by it, prompting his body to dash forward as he clenched a fist. He was about to plant it right on her sick face when all of a sudden, the entire atmosphere changed around the two mages. Her last words spoken in that plane of reality was ‘Nightmare Realm’…

… It was cold. Imai didn’t feel like opening his eyes at the moment, but the truth was that his eyes had never been so widened. Perhaps, due to the darkness that surrounded him, he felt that his eyes were shut when the truth was that they were open. It was first when he began blinking that he noticed it. “…” This plane was terrifying, so much black and nothing to focus on… nothing stood out of the black color, not even his own hands as he laid his eyes on them. “… Did I… did I die..?” he questioned himself. He was frightened for life right now, nothing seemed to make any sense. Where was Lilith? He couldn’t spot her nor feel her magical presence anywhere in this world, only cold and empty voids. He was next to proceed into losing his mind when Sei suddenly appeared beside his shoulder, shocking the cosmic mage. “S-SEI!?” he spoke up in utter surprise, “… Hey, it is you, right?” He poked the little alien just to be sure; who knew, perhaps Lilith was trying to fool his feelings again. However, it turned out to be the real deal by time; Sei had no intentions of harming its beloved friend. Sei couldn’t warn him properly, though, as a fierce impact hit his chin all of a sudden. It caused blood to trickle out as Imai was punched to the left. “!!!” He couldn’t counter that direct attack, which worried him more than the attack harmed him. However, the only thing that indicated her presence now was her soon laughter over the scene. That made him look around again, his eyes glowing bright-blue due to his own resource of mana. Unlike earlier, she never said anything else other than that sick, evil laughter of hers. Closing his eyes for a moment, he tried to track down her magic power like before; being of such caliber, it would’ve been easy if not for the void. He didn’t have many chances at finding her in this blackness. “…” That was when he didn’t think much anymore, letting his pure instincts guide him to survival. He began breathing in and out, first slowly, then pacing it up a little by time. Sweat trickled down his face as he did that, and the overall situation caused another laughter from the abomination. “So what are you trying to plan now? Or perhaps, you broke down already..?” her light, childish voice asked out with echoes following the message. Imai ignored her given by his silence and closed eyes, while his mana settled inside his body. … So this is my magic, he began thinking for himself, Damn, I still have that much mana? Then why… why am I holding back so much? It… it can’t be that I’m scared, is it? No… it’s not fear, it’s just…

A stranger grabbed his shoulder by then. It made him jumpscare like never before, his face going completely white with black counter and everything. He felt that he was about to get hit or stabbed for sure, but when the mind settled and his view convinced him, it appeared to be some old geezer and not Lilith. “… I’ve seen you before,” Imai spoke after a moment of silence. The male sure stood out with the black void in the background. His beard was a little thick, but what surprised Imai was his amount of mana. “I don’t have much time, and neither do you,” the old man spoke back to him with a strong and echoing voice, “Strike! Waver not, my darling..!” Wait, what did he mean by darling? Why did this creep-looking guy call Imai his darling? It began worrying him more than Lilith at this point due to the peace that dominated this specific instant. “H-Hey, what’s with the darling stuff? Who are you?! Don’t tell me that you’re one of those that Mum asked me to stay away from-“ Imai’s words were cut off by the sudden laugh from the very same person that he was fighting against, causing both him and the old man to look towards the source… or rather, towards the direction that they assumed to contain the source. With another tap on the shoulder, Imai suddenly felt what to do now. It was like an awoken instinct, and given by his next thoughts, he decided to take this plan into action.

A loud roar erupted from his mouth as Imai launched both arms to each side, his legs stretching out below. It looked like that he was about to make a snow angle, but then the blue light that signaled his magic burst out from his body in all directions, ignoring the void and pushing the black color away. Lilith’s continuous laughter began dying out as the scene changed, Imai’s roar echoing and continuing due to the strain that this would give him. He had no intentions of holding back, though, and as that was settled, the scene finally changed to what suited him better. A plane filled with dots upon dots, bluish and reddish clouds and astronomical objects was now his world, his advantage. Imai began feeling the limit-breaking mana struggle with his body, but he focused every thought and every move into this. Slowly, both his hands met at the middle, while what sounded to be electricity travelled across the cosmos. His entire body vibrated, and the bluish mana that flew everywhere began wrapping around his skin and shrink around that area only. When that happened, what looked like a ball formed before both his hands. Even the stars in the background began circling around him due to the action that was taken, while Imai roared with all his might: “LILITH!!! YOU AIN’T GOT NOTHING ON ME, YOU SICK DEVIL!!!” His teeth then pushed against each other with a lot of force as the black ball began pulling everything towards it; stars, air, even the light itself couldn’t escape from the black hole that he created. Sweat flowed down his face like waterfalls when he finally succeeded in creating that orb, but it was more than sufficient to overload the plane that she called ‘Nightmare Realm’. Soon, what looked like a stretched painting of Lilith came into view, which was only because of the gravitational pull that his black hole emitted. Her laughter had turned into screams, her power being dominated by his. Slowly, the stretched figure was grabbed by the center of the black hole itself, which began to speed up the absorption. It sounded like a vacuum cleaner sucking up rubber, while Imai gave a last roar of struggle to speed up the absorption that ended up breaking the spaces around him. When Lilith appeared lost within the void, he could finally breathe with relief again…

It took a while for him to notice the old man behind him again, gazing at the young boy in the middle of cosmos. He gave out a soft laughter, one that was much more innocent than Lilith’s crooked voice. Imai had yet to realize who he was, though, as the male simply waved goodbye to the cosmic mage and disappeared. And with that, a blur simply passed him and Imai found himself reappearing from the void outside, spawning in from the same black hole that pulled in Lilith as her fainted body was to be found beneath his feet. She was still breathing heavily, but her magic power had weakened her to the point where she could barely lift a finger or anything. “… Uhm, I think that I did it,” he commented with a hand behind his head. Mashyuu sounded relieved to see him well and sound, and he even suggested Imai to turn in the serial killer. “… You betcha!”
