A Strange Occurrence on the Shore

Hiro's always wanted to meditate on the beach yet rarely found time to do it. When he heard he was going to need to head to the port town of Cedar he believed this might have finally been his chance. He was far from right. He arrived at the beach to see exactly what the job described.  Hundreds of beached fish lay strewn about along the shore line. Some were dead, but most of them were squirming, trying to reach the ocean once again but to no avail.

GL, Hiro's little paper buddy soared above Hiro's head looking at the plethora of fish beached along the shore. Hiro was about to call for him when he felt something he hasn't felt in a long time. An old friend. Demetri?

Why exactly did I accept this job

Demetri considered the question as he glanced down to the ground below, he was quietly hovering over the beach with the deaden animals. The wind gently blew threw his expensive purple cloak, sending it fluttering behind him, although he managed to stay in place. The scene down below was rather disgusting and vulgar, for about five minutes he simply starred at the bloodied and messy beach below him. Quietly he felt pity for them, the countless animals that had an entire life ahead of them, wondering what happened to them he vowed that if someone did this to them, they will pay greatly.  Continuing to scope out the beach he noticed that there were no signs of any ferromagnetic substances, or anything that would be easy to manipulate, thus he recognized that he would be at a significant disadvantage.   So, once again he asked himself why he was here.

Suddenly, his eyes stopped at a familiar figure, squinting he lowered himself closer to the beach so he can get a better look. ‘It can’t be’ landing down behind a dead whale, he didn’t want to make any contact, at least not yet. A glob of what seemed to be liquid metal was summoned from his magic space, but it seemed to have slithered from his sleeve and then collected into five spheres about the size of golf balls. The five globs of liquid metal quietly orbited around Demetri, ready for his mental command. Sneaking behind another large dead fish, he made an attempt to stay hidden within the pile of dead filthy sea creatures. Once he recognized that it was his friend, he couldn’t help but feel excitement and anger towards the old friend.

Demetri ran into Hiro when the magnetism mage escaped his captivity, and while the Oni was traveling. Their friendship was brief and the two eventually separated due to a brief disagreement. To put things in simpler terms, Demetri went to join a dark guild in hopes of changing the world, while Hiro wished to achieve other goals. It was both a rather simple and almost stupid reason for two friends to separate, but it was an event necessary for their own personal advancements. Although apart of Demetri wondered what would happen if they stayed together a bit longer, shaking his head he reveals himself from his hiding place. Carefully making his way to the other male; he pauses in his steps.

“Ah Hiro it has been a long way, old friend” Demetri comments, the five pieces of metal orbited around him but nowhere near Hiro. “As you can see, I am at a disadvantage here, so I obviously mean you no harm” it wasn’t entirely untrue, he wasn’t at a major disadvantage and while he didn’t mean his old friend, he would gladly resort to violence if Hiro gets in his way. “Tell me old friend, what brings you here? Checking out the scenery it isn’t much, or have you come for something else?” he asked making his way through the maze of dead animals.

It has been a while indeed Demetri, Hiro spoke still slightly on guard. He still remembers that small fight they had before separating. A mundane argument to say the least but Hiro still does wish he could take back some of the things he said back then. He wasn't as calm as he was now, considering how much the demon clawed at him in his younger years.

He gave a slight chuckle at his friend's question, dropping his on guard state. No harm would come to him from the mage, even if they did share different ideals. I wish I was here for sightseeing. I've always wanted to spend a meditation session on the beach. GL flew down from the sky with such speed after noticing the strange figure. He quickly transformed into a giant paper shield, covering Hiro. The samurai peaked his head out from behind the large paper mache. GL relax. It's just an old friend. The paper then transformed back into his normal two foot self. His gaze kept shifting between Demetri and Hiro, before ultimately settling himself on Hiro's helmet, seeming defeated.

Excuse my friend here, Hiro remarked, pointing to his helmet. GL here jumps to conclusions sometimes but he usually means well. The paper figure gave a small slap to the helmet with seemingly no effect. Anyway, I'm here to explore what exactly is going on with all these fish, his attention shifting back to Demetri. It's a strange occurrence and I'm curious if it has anything to do with demons or the like. Maybe it'll help me with my own little problem. I presume you're here for the same reason? he asked, now approaching the mage.

Hiro seemed to have change sense the last time they met, something was different but for the time being Demetri couldn't tell what it was. For a moment Demetri said nothing, instead he voted to allow the silence and the harsh winds to beat against them. In this moment the magnetism mage allowed himself together his thoughts, a slight chuckle escapes him. Now he knew what has changed, Hiro seemed to be in charge of his Oni side, or at least more in control than he was when they first met. "I see that you have the beast tamed, shame I found him to be amusing" he murmurs softly, but then quickly dismissed his comment with a wave of his hand, he had no time for petty arguments or anything for that matter. Covering his noise he gagged slightly from the smell of rotten and decaying fish that slowly rises from the air.

Different ideals can be considered a understatement, Hiro wished to protect the corrupted magic council, while Demetri wished to destroy it. at any cost. The Oni couldn't understand his reasoning, he could never understand the pain the magnetism mage faced during his time in captivity, no one understood. "Meditation? Shame, you have the power to change the world however, instead you waste it on petty meditation" he comments coldly, crossing his arms. Raising a eyebrow at GL, he found the paper creature's attempts to protect its master, to be utterly amusing. "How cute, I admire his boldness for trying to protect you, but at last I mean you no harm" he murmurs softly, ignoring the paper creature completely.

Turning his attention to the dead beach Demetri frowned a little, he made his way to a dead fish and crouched down to poke the creature with his finger. It was slimy and welll disgusting to touch, he uses his cloak to clean the slimy hand, then turned his attention to Hiro. "Indeed, it is a rather strange occurence, something that should be figured out, and I am here to do that job" he comments a bit stubbornly, he remained weary of the other male approaching him. Although he doubted that Hiro would do anything to harm him, he remained on high alert. Even if the other male had control over his demon, he didn't know the extent to that control and he didn't want to test it..

"Sense it seems that we are here for the same job,  I propose I minor truce until we figure the problem out" he murmurs softly, raising a hand for it to be shaken. "I don't want to fight a old friend, not again, or at least not now" he sighs a little turning his attention to the dead sea animals. "Should we get started?". The metal orbs slowly rotated and orbited around Demetri, waiting for a command. He takes off his helmet in order to show that he means no harm, a symbol that their friendship is being reopened briefly.

Of course, I wish not to fight now. There are more important matters to attend, Hiro replied, shaking his hand yet still sensing the awkward tension. Perhaps the next fight we have will hopefully be with our magic and not with words. He chuckled, trying to relieve the tension. Anyway, I do believe it is time we get started. We're not being payed to linger around after all.

He beckoned for GL to come to his side, trying to get the paper's attention away from his old friend. The mache obliged, but sat on Hiro's helmet still keeping a gaze on the magnet wizard. Hiro in turn took off his helmet, holding it by his hip. I came across a few of these fish that still appear to be alive after coming into close contact with them. Those two sharks over there for example. His finger extended to point at two sharks, seamless laying on the floor not moving, appearing dead at quick glance. Hiro put his helmet back on and made his way to the sharks.

With his hand firmly grasping his still sheathed sword, he gave a forceful kick to one of them, which in turn snapped back. He quickly jumped, just narrowly avoiding the sharp teeth. The sword was then unsheathed and within moments, Hiro had slashed at the beast several times, causing several lacerations around the stomach and finally piercing it in the abdomen. Timepiercer gave almost a type of blue streak following it in the air as each slash fluidly swung to the next, until the beast lay dead. Hiro gave a few huffs of breath. Of course these things are extremely tough, and there are many of them.
    It will not be easy.

Suddenly a large tail came by and smacked Hiro in the chest, sending him flying backwards. He lay on the sand, gasping for breath. Sitting up, he had noticed a new animal, a whale that had just beached itself and slammed its tail right into Hiro's stomach. Now this was unexpected for how large this animal was. He stood up and brushed off all the sand. It was course and irritating in his armor not to mention was everywhere. Although he did not mind sand, wearing armor while having it get everywhere was a less than pleasurable experience. He saw GL having a laughing fit.

I'd like to see you try and fight these things smart guy, the samurai scoffed. The paper mache gave a little salute and transformed into a paper sword and charged at the beast, only to get immediately swatted away by the fin. He soared through the air before being buried in the sand. Hiro now was the one laughing as he went to go grab him. See, not so easy is it tough guy? GL tried to swat away anymore sand stuck onto him and lowered his head in shame. Don't worry little guy, that's why I do all the fighting and you do the supporting, now lets practice that new move shall we? The paper perched up once again, and grew slightly large, this time transforming himself into a pair of wings and attaching himself to Hiro's armor. The samurai began to float gently above the sand. He glanced towards Demetri. You coming? he asked, a smile on his face.
