Leila Vergious • Golden Phoenix • D Rank
A small cobblestone path leading through the somewhat overwhelming vegetation. It was somewhat hard to believe that there actually was a village there, especially with the cursed ancient ruins that were nothing but trouble so close by. But Leila believed the man that she had met in the city and that begged her for help. And even if it would turn out to be false alarm, at least she got a nice walk out of it. And that was always something! Though he did appear to be quite desperate. He was not with her right now, as he remained in the city to search for more help, as apparently one mage would surely not be enough to do the job. And in a sense, the girl agreed with him on that. If he spoke the truth and his whole village was overrun by bandits, then having some sort of backup would be helpful beyond words. But right now, the girl just had to scout out what the situation really was like.
And soon, she found out for herself. It was just like the man said... even from distance, she could see the reinforcements at the gates, along with thugs walking about in patrols. It was kinda hard to tell, but there were surely at least couple dozens of them inside without a doubt. Even if they were bandits, they wouldn't be able to take over a village like that if their numbers were small. And that was the most worrying part of this new contract that the girl fell into. Trying to remain far in the distance, she waited. Not only was a desolate village like this pretty well defended, but there was also possible reinforcements coming. And the Eden's mage was smart enough to wait and see who she could rely on before charging in like a headless chicken and probably loosing that head of hers in the process.
