A Night to Remember [Valentines Day Event]

The night is crisp with a gentle dusting of snow.  Various nobles could be seen being escorted out of beautifully crafted horse-drawn carriages towards the ballroom.  Each of the noblemen were arm-to-arm with a beautiful noblewoman as they entered.  The ballroom was furnished with a finely polished marble floor with an extremely reflective surface.  Hanging from the ceiling were smaller chandeliers which lead to a massive chandelier hanging from the domed top of the building.  The chandelier was made entirely out of crystal, refracting the candle-light of the smaller chandeliers like a prism, filling the entire ballroom with an assortment of colors.

Chairs were lined up along the side of the ballroom along with tables for people to sit and partake in the complimentary drinks.  Drinks ranging from cocktails (for the adults) to sodas for the under-aged mages.  Finger food was ever-present upon a long white table residing next to the chairs and tables.  

At the far end of the ballroom, a live band filled with brass, string, and percussion instruments started to play a variety of songs between a slow-song to something more upbeat to keep the night going.  When the mages and nobles poured in, they are introduced by a crier at the front door, introducing the mage upon entrance.

Will this be a dance filled with love and emotion?
Will new loves sprout from this casual engagement?
Will hearts be broken as new love springs to life?
That will be up to you mages and for those brave enough to take the plunge!

Alright folks, welcome to A Night to Remember!  
This is a dance, something whimsical to break the monotony of super serious events.  
Feel free to post at your leisure and not worry about the post order.  
The whole point of this event is to meet new characters and have fun; and who knows?  Maybe something beautiful may come out of it!  

Remember to keep it PG-13.  Don't get TOO steamy now ^.~

Mammon made his way towards the direction of the event. He had Clam Chowder with him and he was dressed in a Fancy Tux. It was also his birthday he was turning Seventeen years of age now. Not only that he was a C Rank Mage. He made his way around, and leaned on the wall. it was just gonna be him and his lovey doovy sou. No one would bother him right? No one would disturb the Clam Chowder Eating God? He sighed to himself and shook his head, head as he heard the music ring in his ears. "It's glorious. Fitting birthday present for a King." he chuckled. With that being said he begun to slowly eat his chowder and enjoy himself. This was surely to be a joy. He looked over Sal. he could have sworn he met her in the past. Was she one of the woman from the Beach? Naw, anyways who cares he had soup to love.

Daniel walked in, and instead of his normal clothing, he wore a normal tuxedo, black jacket, pants, bowtie, and belt, and white shirt. He looked older, like a young man in his mid twenties, due to his nicely and closely trimmed beared and mustache, along with his hair, which was combed to the side, leaving a sharp part on the right side of his head, however, his scalp was still covered by hair. He walked into the room with his shiny leather dress shoes, and smiled as he looked at the atmosphere of the room.

He smiled, and looked at the people in the room, and just waited for a while on the side. He wanted to observe before he actually made his move...

Chris walked into the large hall with a look of awe on his face. His small town experience did not prepare him for this much grandeur, even though the guild hall was pretty big as well. This just seemed….expensive. He looked down embarrassed at his own attire. Even his best clothes seemed dwarfed by the majesty.

Shaking the thought out of his head he forged forward. Better to not focus on what he couldn’t control. Mentally he looked himself over with confidence. A pressed dark blue shirt with a dark coat over it. His best black pants, and his shoes mended as best he could. He wore his normal assortment of ARMs, a silver ring on his left hand, a pin over his heart, and a chain with a small grail charm hanging from his belt. He figured if anything the heart on the grail was appropriate.

He walked around the dancefloor itself, keeping to the edge but completely visible. He tried his best to keep the color from his cheeks at seeing some of the women that were already there, and instead tried to focus on the surroundings. But he couldn’t help it when his eyes slid onto a young woman with what looked to be fox ears the color of her hair. Young in the general sense, but looked only a few years older than Chris. And she was cute.

However she didn’t seem like she was wanting to be disturbed, so Chris continued on until he found an empty seat and sat down. He leaned back and let out a quiet sigh. Why was he here? As he thought it became obvious. He wanted someone to be with. This might work out, this might not. But it was better than what he was doing normally. Which was pretty much nothing. A slight smile came to his lips at that thought.

Takumi shivered as he approached the doors before him. He was unsure of anything about this, being the shy mage he was, but his exceed had forced him to go after his latest crush had flopped. You need to get over it. Go have fun, Takumi. she had said, forcing him into a suit. Takumi's hair was dusted lightly with snow, and a feeling wind had sprung up, but he didn't mind much. He used to be an ice mage, he could handle the cold. He reached the doors, hesitating because he was quite simply terrified by the idea of being in a dance setting. He never had been good with dances.

Nonetheless, he opened the door, shuddering to think what Coal would do if she found out he had chickened out. And so he entered the hall, nervously adjusting his collar. The crier, calling out his name, earned a sharp glance from Takumi, who had been hoping to be as low-key as possible. Sighing, Takumi promptly made his way to one of the tables, sitting down so he wouldn't have to interact with anybody. He wasn't ready to speak to anyone, if he was to do that he needed to build up some courage.

Appearance:

Arriving to the open doors of the salle de bal, I stepped onto the marbled floors and headed to the dance floor. I heard Franz Liszt's Liebestraum being played softly, and I looked around to see the entrancement of the many faceless nobles. Several suitors came to me and asked for a dance, and to each I said "Désolé Monsieur,  mais je ne suis pas libre pour danser. Ravi de vous rencontrer, cependant." (Sorry sir, I am not free to dance. Nice to meet you, however.) I step over to the sidelines, and looked out over the masses. Several faces were notable, though most unknown to me. As the Liebestraum faded into the air, its beautiful tune wistfully dancing away into the unknown, the orchestra picked up Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Opus 20, to which the dancers gracefully danced. The dancers themselves were artists in that moment, moving like a miraculous masterpiece come to life. After the Opus finished, I clapped merrily, fully enchanted by the beautiful dancing I witnessed. A younger man asked me for a dance, to which I accepted graciously. When we made it onto the floor, the orchestra sprung to the Blue Danube Waltz, and so we danced.

Music:

Almyra, with the help of her sister, finished up on the finishing touches for her outfit for the ball that was being thrown. Almyra wasn't going to go originally, but Timara had told her about it, and suggested that they go, since neither one had ever had the chance to attend something like this before. It should be a good bit of fun. The spirit looked over Almy one last time before they would head out, giving her sister a smile and a kiss on the forehead before hugging her. It still felt off hugging Timara after she had left her body behind, lacking warmth or texture, with the hug consisting solely of pressure. It was physically different, but still the love behind it remained the same.

As a ghost, Timara found it relatively easy to change her appearance, to an extent. With a thought, her clothing took on the appearance of some of the more formal ware she had owned in her past life. Almyra's outfit was consisted of a fairly simple blue robe with a golden trim. It's large sleeves helped to conceal the fact that she was missing her left hand. Timara wore a black dress with yellow embroidery and a hood that sat loosely atop her head.

The two women entered together with smiles on their faces, looking around, debating where to go next. Almyra's eyes were immediately caught by the snack bar as she began wandering towards it. Timara watched her go with a chuckle before heading off to mingle with the other guests, something which may be a bit difficult to do. Her strange way of moving, walking a bit as though she were a marionnette pulled by strings, made her stand out among those who moved normally. Still, her strange method of locomotion was not without grace.

Outfits:

Chiyo walked with her wife on her arm, happily approaching the doors of the dance. This dance was to be their date night, a nice little time to be together. Chiyo smiled gently at the short-haired woman, holding her hand tightly in her own. "Are you ready, love?" Chiyo asked her wife as they stopped before the doors of the hall. She was somewhat nervous, as she had a plan in place for this dance, but all would go well with any luck. And she could do something sweet for noa like the woman had done for her so many times. The girl gently kissed her wife, a sweet but short kiss.

Zeno trembled in excitement as he stood in front of the door which leads to the ball. For the first time in his life, Zeno had been wearing a tuxedo which made him look very refined looking. Though this was a valentines ball, all Zeno wanted to do was eat some nice food, Food! Where is it!? He ran towards a table filled with delicious treats and with not even an ounce of hesitation began to eat them to his hearts desire. Sure he had seen some women but, he was just an idiot who loves to eat and fight, not much girls seem to like that, as they mostly go for refined men.

He looked around to have some fun, and began to try playing pranks on others, but that didn't work out because he was straight up slapped in the face. So he went back eating in peace having a lot of fun with new cuisines he had never tasted in his life.

The two love birds had left their home one night to go to place were a ball was being held. This was to be a very fun and loving date night for the two of them. So that say could both send more time together, have a lovely dance, and meet more people. But for Noa it had been another chance for her to show off her gorgeous wife named 'Chiyo'.

Noa had quickly smiled at the beautiful long black hair goddess that was holding her ever so tightly in happiness to be on a date together. "Yes my love~ Let's go dance to our hearts content." Noa had replied to her wife's question and gently kissed Chiyo back. Then Noa pushed the doors open as the slowly entered the lovely ball room. Once inside she guided her wife over to the middle of the dance floor and took ahold of both of her wife's hands. Noa then begins to lead Chiyo in the very classic dance of the waltz with a smile on her face and staring deeply into the eyes of wife.

Yazuki grinned as he walked up to the doors to the ball room. This was his kind of event! Surely someone here would be his Valentine's Day Princess, though he hated wearing this horribly Itchy suit. It clung to him from his static charge, which he made a note that he would have to be careful with physical contact. His smile was soon gone, however, when he realized that flirting would have to be done carefully if he did. To think of it, no woman save one had ever responded well to him coming on strong. Maybe tonight he should just sit back and observe.

He slowly entered the ballroom, a lot on his mind now as he started to have thoughts about what he may be doing wrong if he was going to find someone to be with. He looked up to see Zeno was already there. Tonight would be fun with his little kohai there. The kid kept a smile on his face and was now a close friend. The missions they went on always seemed to be entertaining. Also, he could go eat wherever with that kid. Zeno just enjoyed eating. He looked over towards the table to see his twin sulking in the corner. His forehead hit his hand as he realized they were dressed very similarly tonight, so people might have problems telling them appart. What was wrong with Takumi though?

He watched as Zeno pulled some harmless pranks on some people and got slapped. He winced at one as Zeno nearly got knocked off his feat for pranking them. He let out a hearty laugh and started to search the crowd. She wasn't here yet, but he wasn't sure she would even be interested in a dance. She really hadn't shown much interest past the initial comment, but he could wish. Besides, he had never been with someone. He had never found someone that interested him enough to keep his interest.

He pulled out one of his lightning charred sticks that he kept in a small box. They almost mimicked the size and shape of a cigarette. He placed it in his mouth and started lightly chewing on it. It was the easiest way to calm his nerves. He brushed his black hair backwards, his bluer than blue eyes watching as people entered. Slowly he walked towards the bar.

"Scotch on the rocks. Triple shot." he said as the bartender glanced his direction. He watched his brother and Zeno as people slowly started filing in a bit faster. He sipped his scotch, wondering if someone would even talk to him tonight. Maybe he should wait for someone to... Talk to him? He laughed out loud. For now he would try this but he was sure after a few more drinks, he wouldn't feel like waiting any more

Looking around Chris realized his biggest mistake. Coming to the ball and expecting others to walk up to him. A small sigh escaped his lips as he glanced at many of the other singles sitting around or mingling. He was here to hopefully find someone….but finding someone requires actually searching for them. A small shake of his head he stood up and looked around.

Some women were at the bar, but it looked like they were in conversation. Probably best not to disturb them, even if they might not be with someone. Some were walking around the perimeter, but he wasn’t sure if he had the courage to talk with one of them. And one looked like a little girl at the snack bar. That made Chris curious. Looking around she seemed to be the only one in the room. Did a couple bring their little girl here?

With an inward gulp he headed for the snacks. Normally he had a hard time talking to any females, but maybe it would be easier with a younger one. Kids were easy to talk to, but something about this young woman seemed a bit off for a child. He just couldn’t put his finger on it.

Once he reached the snack bar Chris made as if to speak to her. But what could he say? Hi. Are you here with your parents? That would come off as creepy, and most likely label him as a creep. This looks like some great food. Better, but he didn’t know if he had the courage to pull that off. You look very beautiful tonight. That would be worse than the first thing he said. Especially if she really was a child.

With a mental sigh he turned from her and began looking at the arrangements of snacks. They had a good selection, and he began to pick at a few things here and there. He really was bad at being social.

Yazuki continued to watch Takumi and Zeno, but the static and itching of the suit finally got to him. He looked around and noticed that more people were at the bar. He had to get this shirt off soon. He took off his jacket, starting to sweat. He didn't want to be rude but he never wore this much clothes in his life. He knew this was supposed to be a formal event, but this was rediculous. He had two fine ladies now at the bar and he couldn't even attempt to flirt with them in this condition. His shirt started to ripple with electricity, and he realized he had reached his limits. He turned towards the two ladies that were currently sitting at the bar.

"I apologize ahead of time. My electric energies are getting out of hand and I don't want to cause you too much of a shock." He smirked a little as he ripped off his shirt, not even attempting to try to unbutton it. The shirt literally surged with electrical Energy as it hit the floor, making it obvious to any who observed that his quip about the electric energies was not just merely for a flirting gesture, but was actually true...

As he tore off his shirt, the Ballroom doors flung open, grabbing his attention. The broadest smile came across his face with who just walked in.

"Things are about to heat up and get interesting. This night will be one to remember!"

Michael having stepped into the hall dressed in his finest purple formal suit with matching cane and fedora,he saw a familiar face by the bar and half naked as always it seems, he let out  thunderous laugh sounding like a tank changing gears "Well you didn't waste time my friend" he made his way down the stairs with the biggest most evil grin he could have on his face as he strolled up to his partner in crime and art appreciation. "I suppose that's what I expected from you" giving an heir of false disdain and sarcasm trying his best to make obvious to all that he meant it only in jest "So who shall we play a little game while we are here tonight my friend if only to make this lovely evening that much more interesting"

After the piece faded away into the silence, we who danced and those who watched clapped for the orchestra. I curtsied to the young man who danced with me, as he bowed to me. I left the dance floor as graceful as possible (or I tried to anyways.) As I made my way over to the outskirts of the dance, I saw more people who were dressed exceptionally, and one man had his shirt off... Oh well, I still headed over to one of the table overlooking the dance floor, feeling a light anticipatory feeling in my chest. I made my way over to one of the tables on the outside of the dance, and sat myself silently amid those around me. While I never felt shy anymore, I still avoided people if possible. I silently drank a water that sat complimentary on the middle of the table, and listened to the sounds around me. Rowdy people in one ear, the more refined of the attendees in the other. I took a look down at the table, and saw claw marks on the table I sat at. I lightly excused myself away from the table, taking the glass in one hand. I found myself an empty table against one of the walls near the bar, and sat alone, waiting for time to pass. I felt tired already, and I was just feeling downtrodden for no reason. I listened wistfully as the people laughed and danced merrily, and beautiful pieces of music came and went.

As Zeno finished eating most of the junk food and meat at the table, he was wondering what he could do. Though he was not the greatest ladies man, his mother did teach him to always treat a women with respect and care for them. He suddenly had a flashback of his mum and a grin slowly reached his face, That's right I forgot you were with me, Mom he walked slowly to a table.

Though Zeno didn't have a perverse mind which constantly wanted girls like his friend Yazuki, he thought because today is a day for love, he mine as well find a women to dance with, to make his mom proud. But he horribly failed, since this was his first time asking girls to dance, he asked nearly every girl in the room, even the ones with a boyfriend. Why isn't this working!? I thought that's what you were supposed to do! He began to pout at the fact that he was having no luck.
