    NO SECONDARY MAGIC | HOLDER-TYPE

    Arcane Magic is one of the oldest magics in existence; many trace its origins back to the creation of the One Magic — the supposed origin of all magic within the world. While many magics became more specialized, Arcane Magic expanded further and began to include spells and techniques of many other different brands of magic. In short, Arcane Magic is a broad term to explain the use of arcana or magic power in order to alter the fabric of reality. There are many different ways to cast Arcane Magic. Some are schooled in its use and use spellbooks, staves or other magical items to aid in their use of it; others use their natural talent to cast this magic out of sheer force of personality and will. There are even some who sing, dance or simply speak words and summon arcane power that way. While there are many practitioners of Arcane Magic, the sheer amount of techniques and spells within Arcane Magic means that every user of it is unique. Mages of this magic love to gather together and exchange stories, techniques and spells in order to learn more about this primordial, expansive magic. Sage's Arcane Magic focuses on illusions, enchantments and healing rather than purely destructive and offensive spells. He prefers to stay out of melee range, instead focusing on hindering, frustrating and crippling his enemies with illusions, manipulative spells and debuffs while buffing, inspiring and healing himself and his allies.

    Sage casts this magic either through song, playing an instrument or simply speaking. However, he is unable to use his body as a medium for magic and instead infuses items with arcane power and uses his Arcane Magic that way; it doesn't matter what items he uses; he can even use his own clothing as a medium. Infusing an item with arcane power takes time and preparation; it simply cannot be done on the fly. Usually, Sage infuses things like his hat, his shirt or his wristbands with arcane power and uses them to channel his magic through.

    STRENGTHS:
    » SUPPORT AND UTILITY — This magic excels in support and utility — whether it is healing, providing buffs, or just have a tool for whatever situation out there — combat-related or not. Sage makes everyone around him better, and it’s not uncommon for a mage to avoid a death-blow or manage to perform a near-miraculous act of power or skill due to Sage’s support.

    » CROWD CONTROL — While Sage’s particular brand of Arcane Magic doesn’t put great emphasis on pure, relentless offense, one of Sage’s true powers lies in his ability to control the battlefield. Whether it is locking enemies in their tracks, befuddling them with intricate illusions or insulting them with such savagery that it actually hampers their fighting ability, Sage works to make every fight operate under his terms so that it’s much easier for him and his allies to deal with.

    » ATTRITION — Sage's brand of Arcane Magic is great when it comes to attrition; he can wither his opponents down over time with misleading illusions and crippling debuffs while staying fresh himself. The longer a fight goes on, the more it tilts in Sage's favor.

    » CREATIVITY — This magic rewards creativity; every spell’s not straightforward, and it doesn’t always involve simply hitting things really hard or blowing stuff up with magical power. However, some spells have nearly endless possibilities if the bard is willing to explore and think beyond the obvious and known.


    WEAKNESSES:
    » REQUIRES A FOCUS — Sage needs some sort of magical focus for this magic to work; it can be any object he wishes from an article of clothing to a book or some other form of inanimate object. However, he can't just pick up anything and use it as a focus; it takes time for him to infuse the item of interest with arcane power. Also, if he loses his magical focus, then he is completely unable to use this magic. Also, people are able to easily identify the items that Sage use as magical foci due to the vibrant green-blue glow they give off whenever Sage uses them to channel his magic.

    » LACK OF OFFENSE — With Sage’s brand of Bard Magic, his offense is particularly lacking. Many other mages will be able to do more damage than him at a higher frequency. Because of this, Sage has to be a lot more creative and thoughtful during combat in order to be able to actually put a hurting on someone.

    » VERBAL, INSTRUMENTAL AND SOMATIC COMPONENTS — Every single spell, no matter the Bard who uses it, has either verbal components, such as speaking and singing or somatic components such as dancing or gestures. It is possible to use some sort of staff, tome, ring, musical instrument or some other magical item as a magical focus as well. However, no matter what, if the user is unable to do a spell's verbal or somatic components, then they will be unable to use the spell at all.

    » CONCENTRATION — Many spells within Arcane Magic require intense concentration in order to perform correctly; these can make some spells difficult to use in fast-paced, combat situations.

    » COMPLEXITY — Arcane Magic is a complex magic; there are so many different ways to use it that it can easily confuse the user themselves, and if the user doesn't practice and study constantly, they will never be able to use Arcane Magic to its fullest potential.


    UNIQUE ABILITIES:
    » MASTER'S FOCUS — Sage has -25% less HP than the average mage of his class has. This decrease in HP works as a PERCENTAGE. Also, his physical stats (strength, including unarmed damage, and speed) cap out at D-Class levels; they can never rise above that naturally unless a spell is involved. However, in return, Sage has +25% more MP than usual, and Arcane Magic spells cost -5% less MP for him to use.

    » INSPIRATION — Sage inspires an ally with a song, dance or encouraging words, granting them the ability to tack on an extra D-rank worth of power to any spell they choose. This boost doesn’t have to be used instantly; the person being inspired can use this power boost whenever they deem fit. However, a person can only have one source of Inspiration at a time. This can be used once every four posts.

    » MENDER'S POTENCY — Sage has managed to squeeze out more effectiveness out of his healing spells than normal. All of Sage's healing spells heal for 30% more HP than usual.

    50% is quite a bit. I'd rather your character grow into this instead of flat-out giving you 50%. Perhaps 30% at D Rank and increase by 5% every rank up to S Rank.

    Made the following changes.

    MENDER'S POTENCY:
    Decreased the healing boost from 50% to 30%.

    PLANAR IMPACT:
    Decreased healing done from 20 HP to 15 HP.
    Added that C-Rank opponents are only stunned for half the duration and B-Rank opponents and higher are not stunned at all.
