Gravity vs Fate

A bright and beautiful day it was on this great day. Ace, now a new member of the Rune Knights, accepted a challenge from a colleague. It was a good chance to test his skills against a REAL opponent for once…and a seemingly tough one at that. As the man approached the arena’s battlegrounds he smiled with excitement and joy, started to pace faster towards the center until he saw his opponent: Giyo Graphfey a gravity magic user. This opponent was surely more experienced, but Ace was confident that he could meet his opponents power.

Giyo yawned,bored.He should've been home dozing off,but Hirana had forced him to challenge his new colleague.His Tetsusaiga was sheated in fine skin,strapped on his waist.His opponent was excited,for sure.His opponent reminded Giyo as how he was when he was newly accepted too.Giyo sighed.Hi,I'm Giyo,and let's make this battle short. Giyo introduced himself,not wanting a long ice breaking.Giyo stood on his battle stance,giving a chance for his opponent to strike first.

“Let’s keep the chit chat short shall we” smiled Ace as a reply to his opponents introduction. He held his hand over his holstered deck and in one swift motion he jerked his arm into a sky. The cards followed his arms motion and created a large circle around Ace. Smiling at Giyo he whispered to himself “Lucky Gold”. And as he did so a golden card flew towards his opponent. Using the short distraction he quickly started running to the left of his foe

Giyo kept calm.Ace sent a gold card flying towards him.For unknown reasons,Ace had placed himself on his left side.Giyo smiled.The incoming card was too easy for him to dodge.Simply taking a step aside,the card flew through him,missing its target.Giyo unsheathed his sword,channeling it with his gravity magic.With a concentrated energy focused on its point,Giyo swung the Tetsusaiga on Ace's direction.A beam-like slash energy,made from gravity rushed towards him.Let's see how you escape this!Aidou Reietsu! Giyo said,confident.Unfortunately,the slash missed,and Giyo stood there,a bit dissappointed.Well,your turn then. Giyo said,sighing.He really needs to improve his aiming.

Well that was pathetic thought Ace to himself as he witnessed how by how much his opponent missed. But the devastation that attack left behind amazed him. Excitement growing within him he started running in circles around Giyo laughing and thinking about his next move. “Try your best shot! You’ll never hit me like that!” bellowed the adrenaline pumped young man. He drew four cards…all of them Red. “Try dodging this pretty boy! Hammered Red!” Ace flung four red cards at his enemy with a wicked excited smile.

Pretty boy?the heck? Giyo was taunted by Ace.He was foul mouthed,he thought.Giyo smiled,sheathing back his sword.A magic circle appeared,an pushed all the cards away.Shinra Tensei. Giyo said,the expanding ball of gravity sent all the cards away.Now,my turn.Giyo said,repelling himself in great speed towards Ace,using his gravity manipulate spell.A ball of concentrated gravity appeared on his left hand,and Giyo swung it towards Ace,hoping to hurt him.If it missed,the explosion could still hurt him anyways.It was his Gravity Drive spell.

Ace’s cards were flung away like leaves in the wind. So this man could counter his cards? An interesting discovery and an even more interesting magic. Nothing could stop his cards but Giyo did so with ease…and he hadn’t moved an inch. Mid thought he suddenly saw his opponent heading straight for him. Instinctively he stopped on the spot and ran in the other direction in one swift and fluent movement. As the attack missed Ace exhaled after having held his breath “That was TOO close! But still nice try No-brains!” Remembering how his spells were disabled for now he sent another three cards Giyo’s way; two with the intent to cut and another to bruise.

Giyo backed off,his attack failed.Man,gotta get my head right. Giyo said to himself,again,dissappointed.Giyo decided to get serious.Three cards were flying towards him,but no magic is applied towards them.Giyo guessed that maybe he was on his cooldown or something,so he repelled himself away from the cards' path,saving himself.It was an easy evading for Giyo.Giyo looked at Ace,knowing that he could not yet use his card magic.He took the chance to give him some sword combos.Pulling out his Tetsusaiga,Giyo rushed towards him,slashing as an attempt.He hopes that those slashings could affect Ace's well being.He wanted to get this done fast.

“Oh for fucks sake…Can’t you stand still for once!” Ace was a bit frustrated after missing so many times. But his frustration fueled his excitement at the same time. As the battle progressed a certain hunger for battle welled up inside until he could hold back no more.
As his opponent charged at him with the intent to strike him with a sword Ace could only chuckle at the sight. Did that person really think he could strike Ace at close range? A smile on his face he dodged the first two blows. Following those very sloppily executed strikes barely required Ace to move and the last hit in the combination he gracefully evaded by jumping over the gravity master whilst doing a 360-flip just to show off.
“I should be able to use my spells now” smiled the mage and swiftly produced 2 blue and 4 gold cards from his sleeves. With a wicked grin he first threw the two blue cards then the four golden ones at Giyo.
