Magic
Primary Magic: Gravity Shift
Secondary Magic: N/A
Caster or Holder: Caster Magic
Description: Everyone knows that gravity is one of the most basic properties of matter if not the most basic property. Be it a solid, liquid, gas, energy, or even in Shu's case of magic, it is possible for many bodies of different elemental matters to be an orbital center of a particular sphere of gravity - even a conduit of a similar fashion. Considering the many variations to be taken into account - the air quality, temperature of the environment, the size of the desired object to take effect, and magical properties of various kinds of matter - Shu had to spend years training, and carry a proficient amount of knowledge in a scientific stance in order to use Gravity Shift properly.
Gravity Shift is mainly used as a caster magic spell where Shu is able to affect the gravity of not only her own being, but of others and even the environment around her - making nearly anything weigh heavier or lighter. Said gravity magic appears as a purple tinted aura around the body of any being, indicating that the spell is currently active. As Shu gains more experience in not only the battles life has to offer, but her day-to-day life, the spell's sheen of purple may either grow brighter or darker depending on said experiences along with the influences.
In battle, Shu is best able to apply Gravity Shift in regards to stealth attacks. Just when the time is appropriate, she mainly uses either of the two options: either changing the amount of gravity on herself (by making herself lighter in order to hover above the enemy), and then diving straight down on the enemy from above, or changing the amount of gravity on the enemy (by making the amount lighter or heavier) and charging at them in that fashion. In other ways, Shu is able to perform said spell on nearby objects of differing sizes - ranging from small environmental forces around nature to reasonably large assets - and aim them at the enemy in the act of a throw if she is already causing the object to levitate.
Strengths:
- Allow Me!: Gravity Shift can be reliable in reaching areas that are otherwise inaccessible by normal means in certain situations.
- Levitation is One Means: Levitation is possible with Gravity Shift when Shu maintains her focus, and can even make other individuals or objects levitate within reasonable bounds of her strength.
- Stealth On a New Level: Gravity Shift is reliable for tactics and strategies that mainly deal with either stealth or evasive maneuvers, making it easier to either catch an opposing opponent by surprise or to dodge if/when necessary.
Weaknesses:
- Joint Pain: If Shu exposes herself too much to the lower varying differences of gravity that she may use on herself, her joints will weaken overtime which will cause her to have to work to strengthen them again by normal means. However, the effects will not be obvious until after she returns to the normal gravity standing.
- Strength of the Heart: Shu can cause her heart to reduce in strength from too much exposure to the lower forces of gravity. In the case, the heart would end up working less to move blood upward which would cause complications. Like before, the effects will not become apparent until after she returns to the normal gravity standing.
- Heavy, heavy: If Shu uses high gravity too much on herself, she will become heavily fatigued in the aftermath. As long as Shu stays in a measurement of high gravity, she would not be able to recover from said fatigue even after negating said spell in the aftermath - needing to rest to be rid of the fatigue by normal means.
- Out of my League: There are certain objects that Shu can't manipulate for Gravity Shift as they are simply too much for her to handle because of their sheer size, calculable mass, and other factors - such as an object already in mid-flight. Examples of such large objects would be buildings or ships, and even large planes.
- The Fallen - Lucifer's Aura:
Lucifer’s Aura:
Description: Lucifer possessed a duke and made him his vessel for a short period of time, but shortly after the fallen angel left his vessel. The duke gained the ability to invoke a demonic aura around himself after being possessed, which caused nearby living things to wilt and decay, their energy slowly drained from them.
Ability: The user as a descendant of the duke can invoke the same aura around them. Upon doing so, they begin sucking in magical energy from the air and their surroundings.
This translates to a 2% MP regeneration. If within 5 meters of a mage, that mage loses 2% MP and the lineage bearer gains 1% MP regeneration.
Half the MP of any spell that enters this 5 meter area is added to the lineage bearer's MP pool, minus their own spells.
Usage: 2 post duration with a 6 post cooldown. Only spells(max S-rank) and mages of the user’s rank(Max S-rank) are affected by this. Only one mage can be drained per post and only one spell can be drained per post with the user saying in their post who and what they are affecting.
Unique Abilities:
- Defy the Laws of Gravity: Since Shu can manipulate gravity, she carries the ability to walk on walls, run across slanted interiors, or stand on ceilings if she ever felt the need to do so. This type of unique ability is helpful for stealth attacks as well as other means such as spying, or sneaking into certain areas.
- You almost Made Contact: In an emergency, Shu can stop not only herself but another person or creature of a reasonable size from an otherwise dangerous fall if they are within 15-20 meters of her reach. By adjusting the Gravity enough she can either lessen the impact or slow it down until they reach some form of a landing - in the moment sacrificing nearly 10% of her MP in an attempt to halt the fall.
- Aerodynamics: Shu can use whatever objects are around her to help guide herself to certain places when she makes gravity lighter on herself, maneuvering about an environment as if she was in the outer reaches of space if needed. She can also just use it to spin among other things, even for a source of entertainment.
- Higher, higher, and higher!: Now that Shu has fought and experienced some battles - along with getting used to her abilities - she can now affect a total of three people at once regarding adjusting the gravity on them; this includes himself. She'll mainly use it for situations such as making the gravity lighter on them, or heavier depending on the situation - even for means such as getting across large gaps or areas that are hard to reach.
- Signature Spells:
- Reflection:
Name: Reflection
Rank: D - Rank
Type: Defensive
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: None
Description: Reflection is a spell that manipulates an invisible barrier of gravity to form, pushing matter from incoming objects away. This spell is mainly used for defensive measures, able to repel attacks and spells of the same rank within seconds. The invisible barrier - depending on the attacks used - is curved slightly and is able to be used to protect not only Shu herself, but others as long as they are beside or behind her in close proximity.
Strengths:- Ineffective, Your Effort Is: Because this is a defensive spell and as stated before, Reflection can block any attack and spell of the same ranking.
Weaknesses:- Days Are Numbered; Cherish Them: Upon each usage of this spell, Shu's lifespan is shortened each and every time. She tends to avoid using this spell unless absolutely necessary.
- Joint Pain: This spell can specifically increase the amount of joint pain the caster experiences, and so after each usage, Shu is left in a considerable amount of pain for a few seconds.
- Ineffective, Your Effort Is: Because this is a defensive spell and as stated before, Reflection can block any attack and spell of the same ranking.
- Gravity Attraction:
Name: Gravity Attraction
Rank: C - Rank (Will increase with each rank up)
Type: Instant
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: None
Description: Gravity Attraction can be described exactly as it sounds. The spell manipulates the gravity and what attracts it to differing objects, living beings, or items, and pulls them directly towards the caster or another force. This spell is meant for offensive purposes, allowing Shu to bring an enemy closer for the same rank of damage or damage two enemies at once - colliding them with each other to deal with same rank of damage.
Strengths:- Multiple at Once? Huzzah!: Just as described above, Gravity Attraction carries the potential to damage two enemies at once as of the current time - dealing the same rank of damage. However, the number will increase by one with each time Shu ranks up.
Weaknesses:- Heartache: Alike all spells, Gravity Attraction does carry its own downsides. Because Shu is adjusting the gravity of multiple objects, items, or living beings at once, she's risking a higher chance of exposure to the lower forces of gravity. This would not only potentially hasten the effects of lowering the blood flow to her heart, but increase the chance of a heart complication occurring on the battlefield.
- Careful Now!: Even on the battlefield, there's always a chance for a rather sticky situation to ensue. If the opponent is too heavy or much bigger than she could handle, Shu might end up pulling herself towards the enemy instead - the spell automatically going into reverse.
- Multiple at Once? Huzzah!: Just as described above, Gravity Attraction carries the potential to damage two enemies at once as of the current time - dealing the same rank of damage. However, the number will increase by one with each time Shu ranks up.
- D - Rank Spells:
- Demi:
Name: Demi
Rank: D - Rank
Type: Instant
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: 3 Posts
Description: Demi is a gravity based spell that appears in the form of a circular, purple sphere stretching outward from the base of the target. It starts off from the tiniest spec and grows in size until it encases the target completely - dealing the same rank of damage. The barrier created varies depending on the size of the enemy, and it activates within moments.
Strengths:- Go the Distance: Demi can be used anywhere up to 15 meters.
- Range: Considering the distance the attack can have, this allows for some room for evasive maneuvers against other D-Rank spells.
Weaknesses:- Troubling Distances: Shu has to be within 15 meters in order for Demi to even take effect, much less work.
- Fatigue: If Shu uses the spell more than two times in a battle, she will experience fatigue immediately after the second time - which reduces her strength by 10%.
- Variables: Demi varies on damage no matter the opponent or force, so there is always the possibility that Demi can deal the lowest amount of damage to none - depending on the what the enemy is immune to or resistances. However, in an environment that has been manipulated already by gravity (meaning that the original gravity of 9.8 is a higher or lower number), Shu can deal normal damage.
- Go the Distance: Demi can be used anywhere up to 15 meters.
- Gravity Orb:
Name: Gravity Orb
Rank: D - Rank
Type: Defensive
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: 3 Posts
Description: Gravity Orb is different in appearance than Demi and Magry. The spell appears in the shape of a purple, hue changing sphere that encases an entire enemy for one turn - said spell activating within a moment's notice. The size does have a limit as the orb can only fit reasonable sizes (the smallest being the tiniest of goblins to the biggest - a six foot tall human), and is used to trap a single opponent of the same ranking. Shu mainly uses this spell for defensive maneuvers to catch an opponent off guard, but she also finds use for it if stealth is required - as long as they are within 15 meters.
Strengths:- Trapped: As long as the opponent is of the same ranking, Shu can use the Gravity Orb to her advantage in catching the opponent off guard - leaving an opening for an attack.
- Target Sighted: Gravity Orb can be manipulated under Shu's Gravity Shift, meaning that she can use it as a means of attack if applicable in battle along with making it float, shrink, or expand.
Weaknesses:- Only One!: Gravity Orb can only encase one opponent and no more than that.
- Size Matters: Gravity Orb can only fit certain sizes as stated above - the smallest size being the tiniest of goblins to the biggest size belonging to a six foot tall human. However, it is currently unknown as to whether Shu carries the potential to manipulate Gravity Orb to encase bigger sizes as she experiences more of the world.
- Be Careful: If not careful or distracted, Shu can cast Gravity Orb on herself - meaning she would be the one trapped for an entire turn if something were to break her concentration.
- Trapped: As long as the opponent is of the same ranking, Shu can use the Gravity Orb to her advantage in catching the opponent off guard - leaving an opening for an attack.
- Magry:
Name: Magry
Rank: D - Rank
Type: Instant & Area of Effect
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: 3 Posts
Description: Magry's appearance almost exactly resembles the appearance of Demi. It is also cast in the same fashion and manner, the attack beginning from the core of the opponents and spreading outward until it completely encases them - dealing the same rank of damage. However, Magry is a group based attack where Shu can attack multiple opponents at once as long as they are within 15 meters. No attack amount is the same and at Shu's standing, she can only attack two opponents at once. Similar to Demi, this attack can be cast within moments.
Strengths:- Making a Stand: Since it is a group based attack, Magry does have the potential to knock-out two opponents if used properly towards an end of the battle and their health is low enough.
- Range a Second Time: Considering the distance the attack can have, this allows for some room for evasive maneuvers against other same ranking spells.
Weaknesses:- Headaches: If Shu uses the spell more than two times in a battle, she will experience fatigue immediately after the second time - which reduces her magic by 10%.
- Variables, variables: Magry varies on damage no matter the opponent or force alike Demi, so there is always the possibility that Magry can deal the lowest amount of damage to none - falling into the same weakness as Demi. There may be the possibility it can deal the highest amount of damage as well, but it all comes down to pure luck.
- Don't Get Caught!: If an ally or other fellow mage is close enough (within 15 meters), there is a risk that they may get caught in the spell itself - suffering the same rank of damage dealt to them along with the enemies.
- Making a Stand: Since it is a group based attack, Magry does have the potential to knock-out two opponents if used properly towards an end of the battle and their health is low enough.
- Reverse Gravity:
Name: Reverse Gravity
Rank: D - Rank
Type: Instant & Area of Effect
Duration: 2 Posts
Cooldown: 4 Posts
Description: Reverse Gravity is a spell that is exactly as it sounds. It is a spell based on completely reversing the gravity in an entire room. Objects and opponents that were once on the floor now switch to the ceiling. This can also be activated vice versa. Shu mainly uses this as a defensive maneuver to avoid certain attacks of the same rank, and to catch the opponent(s) off guard so that she may move in for an attack.
Strengths:- Surprise!: As it is a means to catch the opponent(s) off guard, Shu mainly activates this spell for the sole purpose of surprising the enemy if absolutely necessary (example being if she's in a bind) - in turn gaining an advantage for a mere few key moments.
- Defense!: Even in the mode of Reverse Gravity, Shu's other spells and abilities aren't affected, meaning that she can still attack normally even when gravity is in reverse by using other objects or means of attack in the room.
Weaknesses:- Only in an Enclosed Area: Shu can only activate Reverse Gravity in a room as casting it outside can create rather. . . troubling results to its effects. (The main result and example being that she and the other opponents within a 10 meter radius would go up into the sky before landing to a deadly impact in the grounds below.)
- What a Risk: Reverse Gravity does have its own risk depending on the room it is cast in. There may be objects in the ceilings that prove troublesome for both herself and the opponent(s) along with possible room for injury upon landing once normal gravity returns; the same can be said for any allies or fellow mages present as well, as there may be moments where she'd cast the spell without warning if not given the choice.
- Soreness: Upon Reverse Gravity's ending, Shu will immediately experience a sore tension surging through her arms and legs - making fighting for the rest of a battle more difficult if not already so. In turn, this reduces Shu's awareness (mental stamina) in battle as the sore nerves become more of a distraction. Upon the second activation, the effect is worsened.
- Surprise!: As it is a means to catch the opponent(s) off guard, Shu mainly activates this spell for the sole purpose of surprising the enemy if absolutely necessary (example being if she's in a bind) - in turn gaining an advantage for a mere few key moments.
- C - Rank Spells:
- Gravity Wall:
Name: Gravity Wall
Rank: C - Rank
Type: Defensive
Duration: 2 Posts
Cooldown: 5 Posts
Description: Gravity Wall is a violet, hue changing wall that stretches out horizontally. It is summoned by the caster in a time of need in order to protect themselves and others. The amount of turns the wall can stay up does not change, and upon the wall's summoning, one side cannot see the other, and vice versa. The height and width of the wall is 5 by 5 meters, and is able to withstand a total of two C - Rank attacks or 3 D - Rank attacks in total.
Strengths:- Do Not Worry. I'll Protect You!: Gravity Wall can not only protect a certain number of people along with its caster, but if small enough, can block off a hallway or path for a short amount of time. This can be used for stealth purposes should it ever be required, or to seal open gaps in areas temporarily.
Weaknesses:- Slow Down!: Upon immediate activation of this spell, the caster's movements are slowed if they try to move right afterward. This is because they exerted quite the amount of energy to collect matter in the air to summon the wall, and is suffering from aching muscles with a body that is trembling under the pressure.
- I Can't See. . .: Upon activation of this spell, neither side can see the other - providing a huge sense of surprise for both sides. Therefore, when the wall falls, anything could happen - ranging from an ambush on either end to a simple spell catching another off guard.
- Do Not Worry. I'll Protect You!: Gravity Wall can not only protect a certain number of people along with its caster, but if small enough, can block off a hallway or path for a short amount of time. This can be used for stealth purposes should it ever be required, or to seal open gaps in areas temporarily.
- Gravity Ball:
Name: Gravity Ball
Rank: C - Rank
Type: Instant & Debuff
Duration: 1 Post
Cooldown: 3 Posts
Description: Gravity Ball isn't as obvious as the name makes it out to be. This spell gathers loose materials and essences from the soil and earth of Fiore, combining loose rock and grains to form a protective coating of soil and dirt. However, it is within the rock shaped sphere that there is gravity essences banging around on the inside, and when Shu slings it towards an enemy, it explodes upon impact to push them back - dealing the same rank of damage. The speed it is thrown is around 30 m/s while the explosion radius is around 20 meters. The maximum distance is 40 meters. The maximum size of the Gravity Ball is that of a regular ball.
Strengths:- Surprise!: Because of the surprise maneuver regarding this attack, there is a possibility to throw the enemy off balance for one turn and only one. This number doesn't change even with ranking up.
Weaknesses:- Oopsy Daisy. . .: If an attack or weapon is aimed correctly, there is a possibility to activate this attack while Shu still has it in her grasp. This would cause the Gravity Ball to explode right in her face, instead having her caught off balance for one turn.
- That Radius, though: The explosion radius of Gravity Ball is only enough to affect one enemy and one only, henceforth rendering it completely ineffective against multiple opponents - even if they're right next to one another.
- Surprise!: Because of the surprise maneuver regarding this attack, there is a possibility to throw the enemy off balance for one turn and only one. This number doesn't change even with ranking up.
- Zero Gravity:
Name: Zero Gravity
Rank: C - Rank
Type: Damage Over Time
Duration: 2 Posts
Cooldown: 6 Posts
Description: Zero Gravity is a spell where the caster manifests an orb of gravity that grows more and more as time passes, encasing it around any part of the body of a single enemy. Its appearance is that of a pure black orb, encasing around the center of an enemy and sticking with them - no matter where the victim of this spell goes, it will follow for the span of two turns. This spell deals half the amount of C - Rank damage upon activation, dealing the other half by the second turn. (20% of damage the first post, 20% of the damage the second post = 40%) This attack can be done from a distance - the amount being 15 meters, and this can be blocked or proven ineffective if blocked by any defensive spell or weapon.
Strengths:- Ouch!: Because this is a damage over time spell, this can deal a rather harsh amount of damage if allowed to continue fully for the span of its two turns - a full C - Rank.
Weaknesses:- Halt! You Shall Go No Further!: This spell can be blocked by any defensive spell or weapon no matter the ranking, making this an easy spell to halt.
- Nothing More: Shu can't be farther enough than 15 meters, otherwise this spell would prove ineffective. She wouldn't have a clear shot or be within a reasonable distance to carry the required amount of clear accuracy. She also can't run while this spell is active because it requires focus.
- Ouch!: Because this is a damage over time spell, this can deal a rather harsh amount of damage if allowed to continue fully for the span of its two turns - a full C - Rank.
