The wench had balls, that was certain. After Nico's reaction to Erika stepping a bit too close, this girl that was acting the traitorous scum part was moving even closer than that. To make it worse? Treating her with an utter lack of respect. And she called herself a mercenary as well? She wouldn't call herself anything anymore. In the middle of the other girl's speech a gunshot would be heard, multiple in fact, as the other woman would find herself with a multitude of holes in her chest. The large caliber pistol smoked in the mercenary general's hands as a multitude of new totems would drop all around herself, adding a mix of shields that would be impossible to burst through in time to harm her or save this other one by teleporting or going through it. "Your blatant disrespect and acting against orders is clear signs of treason, and your name will be written down as such. No condolences will be sent, and your body will remain here as a reminder to those that might think of betrayal!" She could NOT believe that the woman had thought she could remain here and ignore orders, it was clear that she would have betrayed her eventually with how she acted.

Shaking her head in disgust and holstering her pistol, Nicolette would broadcast another message to all troops under her command. "All units, be careful of traitors in your midst! I have eliminated their rebellious leader, but they are scattered among you. Caution at all times, and do not fear retreat. Do so if you must, live to fight another day. But do not let them break your spirit!" After this message went through she would make a few hand motions to those around her, the ones watching knowing exactly what she meant and preparing to fight off any kind of assassin that might try to make a move.

After that, pointing at the girl she seemed to take a liking to now, she would give one more order. "You seem like you could do something useful, do what you can to make this end quickly. I'll get a message to the other hired mages as well!" With that said she would relay a message to the man that had dropped the map inside of her head. She simply wanted him to tell the other mages to make their moves now before the Rune Knights enveloped them and it became a sad rout that they would have to try and escape.

Off in the distance, a crew of would-be reporters would find that the debris and explosions, mixed with the mechanical workings nearby them, kept them from getting a clear picture of anything in this battle. What a shame that was after the exceedingly dangerous trip they must have taken to get to the battlefield and manage to set up a functioning camera system.

Navrick soldiers died left and right, and if it kept up she would have no choice but to call them back. She could not let the entire army of the country die in vain. At worst they would fall back and let the land fall while the magic item this war was about was moved to a more secure location; if it was even still there after all this chaos.

    Clean Version:

    "The Rune Knights Will
    Return To Glory
    !"

Alexander grunted as he continued to pull Astrid along as his warm red blood began to flow down his arm, falling off of his elbow and finger tips, staining the ground with his blood.  He was stopped by Astrid for a moment as the girl stuttered out how she wanted to heal him.  Taking a knee, Alexander nodded his head.  "Just hurry," he said as he allowed Astrid to heal him.

Flashback wrote:"Alexander, what you need to realize is is that the Magic Council (and by extension, the Rune Knights) are moving into a new direction.  No longer will we need to rely on the mages for their help," the man that Alexander was following said as he continued to walk.  He had taken the two of them towards the city square where a beautiful circular fountain resided.  Children were playing around the fountain and even jumping in.  The High Commander said before taking a seat upon the lip of the fountain.  Following his lead, Alexander sat next to the High Commander.

"I know about your distrust of mages, which is why you obtaining this Infinity Clock is of vital importance," the High Commander said, causing Alexander to tilt his head in confusion.

"There must be some other reason why you need the Infinity Clock.  Simple time manipulation isn't all you need it for is it?" Alexander asked before the High Commander laughed jovially, wiping a tear from his eye.

"It is a wonder how you aren't Commander at this point, Alexander.  Yes, quite astute of you to figure out," the High Commander said as he turned his head towards the Ethereon Cannon.  Tracking where the High Commander's eyes looked towards, Alexander stood up and turned to look back towards the High Commander.

"No, that's not possible," Alexander stated in astonishment and disgust of what he just put together.  The High Commander stood up and dusted himself off.

"Well, now that you know that much, you are to be put on a gag order.  Any mention of this to anyone will result in high treason, do you understand?  Wouldn't want to put your family or even your dog in danger, now would you?  It would be a shame to end your bloodline at you, wouldn't you say, Captain Fulbright?" the High Commander said with a smile upon his face.

Alexander walked up to the High Commander and whispered to him.  "You plan on manipulating time with blasting the Ethereon Cannon, don't you?  And then compressing time to go around the cooldown of each shot, aren't you?" Alexander said.  His demeanor became more and more angry the more he started to put things together.

"Such a strange imagination you have there, Captain," The High Commander said before clearing his throat.  "This is where I leave you for now.  Prepare your troops, you begin your march to Navrick in 7 days," the High Commander said.  Alexander opened his mouth to say something, but bit his tongue in the process.  Alexander simply scowled at the High Commander and balled his hands into a fist, shaking it violently.  "Yes, sir," he said through his teeth.

"Good.  Remember what the representative said.  Bring your least important soldiers.  They're all expendable.  You will be escorted with mages.  Do with them as you wish," the High Commander said before nodding his head and walking off.  "Have a good day, Captain Fulbright," he said before turning his back to Alexander and walked off.  Alexander's fist shook in anger of what he was forced to do and what dastardly plans the Magic Council had planned.

"Yes, sir," he said to himself.
Once Astrid's healing was complete, a couple Navrick soldiers ran towards the two, causing Alexander to jump in front of her, swinging his sword, causing a massive line of explosions to appear in front of him.  Turning his eyes to see a man named Aether tearing his men apart.  These mages were busy tearing apart the Navrick soldiers, but none of the mages were being touched.  Reaching into his armor, he pulled out a horn and blew into it, sounding the retreat.  The mages wouldn't be called for this retreat, just his men of the Rune Knights.

"All mages stay and fight!  We must break through to the Capital!" Alexander said as he raised his blade once again, covering his weapon (and everyone else's weapon) in a strange blue aura.  With a single swing of his blade, a crest of blue energy rushed it's way towards one of Nicolette's totems, dealing a massive amount of damage to them from a distance away.

"I know it's you, Nicolette!" he shouted out, trying to get Nicolette's attention.  "I know who you are!  Why not spare the men and make this fight personal!  You, me, and our mages!  Let the non-users go home to their families!" Alexander shouted out.  He figured a good challenge would tickle Nicolette's fancy (at least he hoped it would).  Attacking cannon fodder isn't going to end this battle.  No, in order to end this battle, mages must start fighting with other mages.

"Unless you're a coward, Nicolette!  Bugock!!!  BUGOCK!!" he said, shouting out mockery in the form of chicken noises, using it to mock Nicolette.  Alexander stepped backwards to look to Astrid out of the corner of his eye.  "Things are about to get rough soon.  Stay close and we can get through this," he said before clearing his throat and swinging his blade towards Aether, causing a blue streaking crescent to swing to his direction.

Part One: Non- Combat Oriented story.
Standing in the shadow of my commander, I sat and listened to the mockery from a man that seemed filed with steely resolve, to another warrior. Disgusted, I flew off after the first swing of the blue blade my commander waved, watching as it sailed passed over enemy soldiers, and flew straight towards a man with daemon's skull for a head... As I soared through the air, however, something connected, and subsequently detonated on my back. As I was hurtling toward the ground, I thought of the lacrima bombs dropped in air from a platoon of flying men, which all seemed destroyed at first glance. These thoughts, however were soon muted as the sensation from my body ceased. I woke on the ground, face down in the overturned dirt and grass clumps. I started on my way up, but, as I rose, I had to hold my self up, as a wet cough was soon to be realized as blood dropping onto my hand. I pushed my self into standing, and with firm resolve, called Isolation forth, and stood Adamant, before pushing forth towards the enemy castle.
Almost unimpeded, I traveled to the castle wall, looking for @Meletzo, moving past the trenches where men watched me go hesitantly, uncertain of whether or not to let me pass. Making it back to their wall on the outskirts of the battle, I found @Meletzo hustling towards one of the gates. Limply wobbling from blood loss and dizziness, I cut off @Meletzo, and I said to her, as loudly as possible :"I'm Sorry!" before turning back towards the battle, a d making it back to the side, that I wasn't so sure I should've been on. Uttering my phrase, I fade into my elemental ethereality, and tried making it back to my encampment, limping back. Then I decided that I wouldn't just give up, as I have been feeling like, I throw out my wings, nearly screaming in the process, and sped low to the ground, trying to make it back to the allied side.

    Part Two: Combat.
I almost make it back to my side, when an archer on Navrick's side decided to preemptively shoot at my side, and as my misfortune would have it, punctures right through my side, causing me to land 20meters from my encampment. Snapping the arrowhead, I managed to maneuver both ends out of me without major damage, but, I decided to be offensive. So I recalled Isolation once more, got into stance, and started spinning , sending the same blue waves the commander made at their allied commander for Nav. Then, I shot three more of these waves at other people, who seemingly stood out among the many armoured enemies. I then turned my back towards the enemy, and prayed to the Norn that fate wouldn't side against me any further, seeing as I don't know how much more I could take, especially since I was limp-jogging back 20 meters, since my wings gave out...

    Part One:
    Spoke to @Meletzo
    Part Two:
Targets: @NPC Nav. Commander and the three nearest mages to @NPC Nav. Commander.

    HP:105. (200-60, 140-15, 125-20)and 5 damage per post from open wounds.

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

The general stopped in his tracks, signaling to her she was allowed to heal him. Thankfully, he took a knee as well. A smart move, seeing as how Astrid was barely five foot and was much smaller than the normal mage these days. At least with this, she wouldn't need to jump up to do what she had to do. That probably wouldn't really work out, now that she thought about it. There was an arrow lodged in the man. If she couldn't get a good grip on it she could cause him more pain than she needed to, or even make the wound worse.
After Alexander knelt down the dragon slayer was quick to locate the arrow pierced through his shoulder blade. Though she hesitated, the sight of blood trickling down his back instantly causing her to become woozy. She had never been good with blood. Even back when she helped out at the blood drive the nurses had to keep her from fainting whenever she accidentally caught a glimpse of a blood bag. And though she had indeed gotten over it quite a lot over the amount of time she had been a mage now, something about the red liquid still made her feel sick every time she gazed upon it. A bad choice, right? Letting a mage who feared blood onto the battle field. But whoever said Astrid was the smartest? And it wasn't like they asked when you signed up. She wanted to help her kingdom out, and help them she would, even if she saw a little blood.
Shaking her head the ace bit through the sick feeling within her gut, placing a gentle hand near the entry point.
"T-This might hurt a little..." She warned him, grabbing onto the stick of the arrow with the free hand. She closed her eyes in concentration, allowing a silver glow to cover the hand upon his back. Tightening her grip on the arrow Astrid used as much force as she could to tug back on it, pulling it free from his shoulder. Though he might have felt a little pain from it, it would quickly be numbed as her healing spell set into effect. The small, bleeding hole on his shoulder would recover with skin, all that is left being the hole in his armor.
Retracing her hands from the general the slayer dropped the bloodied arrow upon the ground, crimson eyes looking back to him to make sure he wasn't in too much pain and that her spell had set in correctly.
But it seemed confirmation was not necessary, as Alexander got back up with little to no effort, swinging through a couple more men with ease. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips. That was the first time she had ever healed a battlefield wound, it felt almost... Energizing to have done such a thing.

The girl watched as Alexander called back the non magical users of the battle, slight curiosity held in her glistening eyes. It seemed that he had enough of the weaker beings and wished to settle this soon, magic user to magic user. It would mean less numbers on their side, but also less enemies on the other. That is, so long as the other general complied with this new turn of events.
Seeing the knight taunt the other general in such a way was enough to make the girl burst out into a fit of giggles. Seeing a leader of an army act in a childish way? It defiantly calmed her nerves, if nothing else.
"Non non, Monsieur. If you want to taunt an enemy, you have to be louder than that." She shot a devious grin towards the leader before cupping her hands over her mouth, scanning over the battlefield.
"Un poulet! Nicolette is a chicken! Bugock!" The ace taunted happily, enjoying this game of taunting more rather than the actual war itself.

    A z i s e  !

    ` ` `

Azise quietly awaited a response to her long stream of questions and various lines that suggested flirting. It did not surprise her, however, as the brown-haired boy in front of her pulled out a random silver key and called for the 'Chronicle Commander', Yuni. The girl that was summoned had a small frame, and wore an interesting black leotard with a hood. She had lilac hair, red eyes, and various bits of silver armor on her arms and legs. Before the Kitsune could ask about the strange girl, both her and the Wizard Saint vanished within the blink of an eye, having completely teleported away from the scene. At least in the vicinity, she could not track their scents or Elyx's magic presence at all. Was he even still on the battlefield? Likely not, or if he was, he at least was not fighting. Somewhat disappointed, Azise breathed out a low sigh. She was partly relieved that he was no longer present on the battlefield, for many reasons; first of all, so he would not be a threat to her client: the kingdom of Navrick. Second, she could not help but still worry about him at times, despite knowing that he was perfectly capable of taking care of himself. Why be worried? Instinct was the only likely explanation for the well-disguised Bakedanuki.

With Elyx off of the battlefield, Azise knew that she would have to find something else to occupy herself. Instead of casually flitting about the action, the Kitsune decided to turn her attention to the man who had just used a punch to deal fifty meters of devastation to the Navrick army and the land itself. Perhaps this was who she could try to pry off the battlefield next. Smirking slightly, the fox teleported to a place ten meters away from him, having identified him rather quickly. He was none other than Elyx's cousin, and an Ace of Golden Phoenix: Hero Yamamoto. She had met him once before during what had been an exam and initiation into the guild. She had disguised herself as Elyx himself, and had tried to fight him, only for her spouse to show up minutes after the fun had begun to cut it short.

"Heya~!" Azise shouted, waving a hand and flicking her golden-furred tail two and fro as she tried to gain the giant's attention. "You're Hero Yamamoto, aren't 'cha? I've heard about you~"
Flirty as always, though she hoped that he would stop to listen. She was perfectly disguised, and unable to be sensed or recognized as Izayuki Hyoujin- the Guild Master of Black Rose. Even her magic would appear to be the holy ice magic of a Demon Slayer- not the darkness-infused ice of a god slayer. As she talked, Azise would move closer to the Golden Phoenix ace, stopping feet away from him as she continued to wave her tail in a friendly manner. "Boring battle, am I right~? If only there were better things to do," the fox would hint, smirking. She would not strike just yet... she hoped to stall for as long as possible. Unlike Elyx, however, he was not going to get away.

The battlefield was growing quiet and conflict was resolving itself. Erika had enjoyed just being passive so far, watching the warring of others brought about a certain joy within her, to see others tear each other apart, it was a wonderful feeling. This was the type of environment that Erika loved, conflict with purpose, a purpose which most importantly entertained her. If she had to say one negative it was the various elements going too predictably, the Naverick were out-manned at the end of the day, and normally Erika would have just tried to kill the woman in front of her for proving that she wasn't worth leading her forces, but at the same time the woman did just execute a traitor without a second thought so that was respect worthy. The other side however she called her out as being a chicken, what were they twelve? Hardly worth Erika's time, but then again crippling the head of the Rune Knights force to strike at the magic council well, nothing could be more of an honor, they seemed to claim to be the main rulers of the magical world, which was a shame because Erika owned everything by birthright.

While Erika herself hadn't been fighting much, her clones had been spread throughout the ranks, though they too were avoiding much in the way of conflicts, instead they would fold out of the way and wait for the perfect opportunity to strike out at her order, and thankfully that order would come. Out of the four she had unleashed Erika smiled towards Natalia as her body fell limp and vanished, while her consciousness and fortitude appeared within the clone on the Naverick side. The battlefield was calm compared to but a few moments ago as the challenge rang out. Walking through the rank and file soldiers calming themselves Erika brushed her pink and brown hair underneath her cowl as she took it off and approached. Blue waves flew her past her towards the crowd but they didn't phase her, not because it was weak, but because she had a much juicer prize in front of her.

"Now commander is that really anyway for you to treat your opponent? Squawking like a chicken it is so... unbecoming."

As she removed the full ensemble to show her more "normal" clothing, Erika let a smile form over her face that could only spell trouble for those she had her eyes upon. A girl with white hair and this man, both of whom seemed to like poultry.

"I apologize as normally I wouldn't dare to interrupt the fights of others, as it is of great amusement for me to see hopes and dreams die to one another, but after she killed that one traitor, I just had to help out. Basically Natalia asked me to end this quickly..."

Lifting her right index finger slightly the ground underneath both Alexander and Astrid would morph into threads of Erika's design (pun intentional), and attempt to launch upwards into them. It was a slower attack than she normally would have performed, but right now Erika was both testing the waters and trying to amuse herself.

"And I intend to do just that."

With caution she would watch them and those around her in case a sudden move was made, as she didn't wish to be ambushed and have her fun spoiled so early.

The devastation he caused left him a huge opening to run through, but before he could do so, a storm of projectiles started flying through the air toward him and many of his allies whom were in the area. He could not protect all of them, due to how fast the projectiles were moving, so he did his best by throwing a punch up into the air wide enough to stop the middle-most area of the attack. It was strong enough to repel the attack but unfortunately some of it still got through and hit some of the Rune Knights. Death was a normal effect of war but that did not mean it hurt any less to see his comrades fall. There was a brief moment of eerie silence after the attack; a ringing sound echoed in his ears. The sound was broken by an unfamiliar voice, one that was not shown in the minutes before the war began. That meant they likely were not friendly.

The person who appeared before Hero was a woman, though not completely human judging from her physique. He knew he would likely have to fight a mage in this war but not so soon. Perhaps it was fated to happen. What mattered more, however, was not idly talking to a potential enemy in the middle of a large-scale battle. For now, he had to leave the fight with the enemy general to the others while he himself held the attention of this person. It seemed the giant's reputation preceded him, despite not knowing if this woman was foreign or not. After a moment of silence when she finished speaking, Titan responded quickly and with a cautious tone.

"Perhaps we can keep each other company with a little match of our own, then. I have no intention of letting an enemy through our lines and you don't seem to be interested in any of the others."

His body remained at the ready, to move at any moment. This was probably going to be his big role in this battle. It's showtime.

Aether was making way through the Rune Knights army when he got the message from Navrick’s general to relay to the other hired mages of the Navrick army, causing him to make some sort of bone toothed grin as he spread his mind into all of the hired mages on Navrick’s side, his chibi self appearing in their vision. Mages fighting on the side of Navrick, I have a message from General Nicolette. The time to strike is now! Move in to strike at the enemy mages before the enemy army can make any moves! After relaying the message to his comrades on the front lines Aether would connect to Umbra who he had left at Nicolette’s side. The general is more than capable of defending herself, come to move in and assist. We’re going to strike at the leader of the Rune Knights together. It was then that the strike of blue energy would hit Aether’s shield that was provided by the totems, however he didn’t move from his position, patiently waiting for Umbra to make her way towards him.

It only took her a moment, but as soon as she heard that Aether needed her she moved into a full sprint towards the carnage of the battlefield, a black smoke-like substance flowing off and surrounding her as she ran and leapt into the sky, bursting forth into her true form and sending waves of wind across the battleground as she ascended into the sky in an Arc, swerving in and out of arcs of crescent blue energy as the knights below her swung their weapons up towards her after seeing the commander’s display of the new enchantment being used on Aether, only prompting her to hasten her way towards him as the knights began their retreat.

Upon seeing the crescents of energy fly up towards the advancing Abyss Walker prompted him to change his target as anger began to seep into his thought process. The swords that he had acquired from the Rune Knights quickly gained the blue aura around them and without wasting a moment he quickly changed their formation to make thrusting attacks, turning his attention to the retreating knights he were attacking Umbra. He was quick, leaving behind the knights he had taken for their weapons enchantments as to not hinder him, thrusting the glowing blades into the forces, a streak of blue energy erupted from them as he continued to whittle down their forces. “All those who wish to see their family again best heed the orders of your commander!” He shouted, coming to a stop once all the ranged attacks from them came to a stop, floating in the air above them just as Umbra appeared behind him, the strength of her wings causing the dust around them to be dispersed as she roared. “Too many people have died today, think of your families! What will they think when those they love never return from fighting a war? Do they even know what you’re fighting for?” he continued, lowing himself slowly to the ground, some knights transfixed on him but most others running from him. As he touched the ground white spots appeared on his cloak, the shadow cast by his companion being sucked into and absorbed by the spots as one of the bone knives that he had floating around him flew towards his maw, consuming it without splintering the bone.

“Those who return home now shall be spared. If you have any sense of self preservation and loyalty to your commander then leave now.” He spoke, turning away from them and floating up to stand upon the large winged creature’s head as its quickly ascended into the sky to give Aether a lay of the land before diving down straight for the commander, the swords and various bone fragments floating around as Aether prepared them to intercept any ranged attacks that would be directed towards them both.

Nicolette's shield totems would stay up around her even as she heard the sound of the retreat horn that the Rune Knights were known for using. It was a good thing she kept the shield up too, as a barrage of blasts would hit it that had a familiar look to them. Could it be? No, surely they wouldn't send him for this important of a mission! Her thoughts as to who it was were affirmed when she heard the taunts from the other side; Alexander! She had both fought with and against him before. They had a mutual hatred of each other, both for what the other was in life.

He likely knew the taunting would get to her, even she could not stop herself from getting angry from it, and a line of totems would drop to allow the Navrick soldiers to all hear her clearly. "All Navrick soldiers! Retreat! Spare your lives! This battle will be over shortly and there is no need for any more of you to die this day! The mages and I have more than enough to deal with these Rune Knight dogs!" The totems would allow the message to carry across to Alexander as well, the bait being taken as well as the challenge accepted. The shields would drop, and the totems would disappear from across the battlefield even as the woman had her gun in one hand and draw a standard sword from the other. She would make sure this Rune Knight bothered her no more after this day, and did not care who she had to kill to get to him!

Takumi was ready to deal some real damage here, and that was when he saw the enemy general. She seemed pretty damn confident... perhaps he better change that. He waded through the sea of fighting people, towards Nicolette, ready to stop this. His eyes were burning like twin sapphire flames, as he Advanced with his exceed at his side. "You seem pretty confident there, Navrick general." He would say as he finally reached her. Perhaps.... it was time for the lightning blade. Lightning energy would gather in his hand, forming a small pulsing blade of electricity. He would leap at Nicolette, aiming directly for her heart as he did so. If the blade hit, it would deal devastating damage, this was a spell made for killing. He wasn't going to just sit there and let these Navrick soldiers win.

As the war was progressing she noticed the enemy commander moving towards them. It seemed a little weird and rash, but that only meant the could end this faster. Zoey moved towards the enemy commander. She knew she had little to no chance herself, but surely she wouldn't be the only one to head for the enemy commander. Not long after she noticed another mage aim a an attack towards the enemy commander. Maybe she could help him a hand.

Assuming no one stops her, zoey would created a magic circle once she neared the enemy commander. Two pair of vines moved up the ground under the commander's feet to grab hers so she couldn't move away in time for Takumi's attack.

    Clean Version:

    "The Rune Knights Will
    Return To Glory
    !"

A girl, Erika, approached Alexander and Ami.  With a quick hand, Alexander moved Ami back behind him.  He may have had a dislike of mages, but this girl was one of the very few exceptions he had seen.  She was sweet, she was adorable, and she cared about his life.  What more would a man want?  She even joined him in his mocking of Nicolette.  Feeling appreciation for the girl, he decided to put her behind him as this new female approached.

Alexander narrowed his eyes towards Erika as she spoke to him.  A snarl came across his face.  How could a lowly mage like this dare speak down to him.  A look of annoyance was plainly evident.  The first little bit that Erika said was quite quaint, but everything else made Alexander lose interest.  Her words became static in his ears; not wishing to pay too much attention to people he considered trash.  Erika was a prime example of the kind of trash that Alexander didn't like.  Arrogant, self-righteous, and caring for nobody but themselves.  Those were the traits that Alexander through that all mages had.

Upon seeing Erika lift her finger, Alexander moved his weapon into a ready position and twisted the handle of his blade, changing the properties of his weapon enchantment.  A strange pressure wave was released from his blade as it's bluish glow vanished and a strange aura started to surround the weapon.  The aura didn't have a color, but those that are sensitive to magic felt an explosive strength surrounding the blade.

The ground began to shift in appearance, causing Alexander to turn around and grab Astrid and jumped into the air.  With a quick swipe of his blade, an explosion covered the ground, blowing away quite a few of the strands from the ground, disintegrating them upon impact.  However, the range of the explosion wasn't big enough to destroy all of the strands, having Alexander being pursued by multiple tendrils of threads.

With another swipe of his blade, it propelled him backwards, forcing him to land on the ground.  As he landed, he set Astrid down on her feet.  "Mind backing me up?" he asked with a bit of a smirk upon his face before fighting off more of the tendrils with each swipe of his sword destroying more and more.  While fighting off the tendrils, Alexander looked upwards to see someone swooping in from above.  Gritting his teeth, Alexander awaited Aether's advance before blocking an incoming attack with his sword.  The block, itself, released a terrifying amount of energy, blowing Alexander back (with enough force to potentially blow back Aether and his mount as well).

The concussive force caused Alexander to slide backwards upon the ground, digging his weapon into the ground to stop his backsliding instantly, causing a firm jerk to his previously injured shoulder.  It wasn't dislocated, but the pain was enough to start bothering him.  It was then that Nicolette's words could be heard in his ears.  It seemed that Nicollete, too, was approaching me before noticing a young child wielding lightning diving towards Nicolette.  Good, at least these mages were good for something.

Turning his eyes back towards Aether and Erika, he looked between the two and began to analyze their abilities based upon what he just saw.  Erika seemed to be the bigger threat due to the unpredictability of the threads, so naturally Alexander would start to focus upon Erika.  While Aether, himself, is no push-over, it would be more prudent to target someone who could bind you and take away your mobility than it would be to take on someone who's abilities seem to revolve offense and defense.

Removing his blade from the ground, Alexander swung his weapon and slammed the tip of the sword into the ground, causing a linear wave to rush directly towards Erika and took another swing of his sword, causing a fan-like explosive force.  The force wave was clearly visible for them to see, but it was a very wide and tall wave, something that may be difficult to dodge.

Seeing a wizard with a blade of lightning leaping at the enemy commander, I set my sprites to action, copying the spell of the wizard who's lightning was peaking at the Commander as of right now. I finished with my blade, making it into an odachi, I stretched out my wings, to a shock of pain, but I shot up into the air, and landed a few feet from the commander. I rushed her, and unsheathed the electrical blade from its sheathe, and slashed out a couple of times, striking the chest, and the left leg. I let the blade fade from my grip, and I pulled Isolation from the nothingness above me. I stood there, and struck down with the point descending towards her neck. I stopped it above her spine, and held the blade over her neck over neck, I removed the blade from her neck, put the butt of the staff in the dirt. I leaped high in the air, twisted my body to where I was like a cyclone, and spun the blade down to the enemy commander's neck, closing in on my target, moving down towards the commander...
(Please note, this is just flash, theatrics. This isn't a spell/ability for the weapon itself.)

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

It looked like their childish taunting worked. Though, alongside Nicolette, it seems their calls had also attracted some unwanted attention. Specifically an oddly colored woman, and what could only be described as a… Skeleton man? At this point Astrid wouldn’t question why he was made of bones or how he was still living. She had seen much more bizarre things ever since joining the guild life, and she doubted this would be the most bizarre thing she would ever encounter.
The woman spoke, but her words completely went over the young musician's head. Something about a traitor and the name of what she assumed was the opposing general? Honestly she had no idea. But she understood the meaning of her words just by the way Alexander pushed her behind him protectively. She wanted a fight.
It was then that she lifted a finger, causing the ground beneath the two to change into threads. Though, Astrid barely had time to process it as the Rune Knight picked her up with one arm, easily done as the girl barely weighed anything with her small frame. She grasped onto his shoulder tightly to make sure she wouldn’t fall, watching the thread strands continue to pursue them even after the explosion the man caused before their jump. The woman was persistent, she would give her that.
It was almost like she actually wanted to kill them…
Oh, right… She did. This was a war. The slayer almost forgot, caught up in the easiness of their taunting and the leader’s promise of protection. Dozens and dozens of people had already died. And now, she was the next target.
The ace’s anxiety soon returned, to the point where she was reluctant to release herself from Alexander’s grasp. But, she did so anyway, falling back to the ground onto her feet.
The leader’s next words were muffled to Astrid, like tv static noises. The reality of her death once again consumed her mind. She did understand them, his words. He wanted her to help him with Erika’s threads tendrils that were still coming at them. But it took her more time than it should have to react.
It was only when she felt a sudden sting upon her cheek was she snapped back from her thoughts. One of the tendrils grazed her, cutting the skin. Thankfully, it was only that, a graze. But the small amount of pain was still enough to make her flinch. Out of instinct she covered the slowly bleeding cut with a hand, while the other began to glow her familiar silver color. The nails upon it grew a few inches out, sharpening at the ends, all covered in light magic. It was as if the graze was all she needed to get going again, reminding the girl where she still was and that there was still a war to fight. And no matter what, she needed to pull through. Anxiety was still greatly dug within her mind, she would not deny that. But her will to fight and survive overpowered it.
Lowering the other hand from her cheek those nails would do the same, sharpening to a point with light magic infused. Then, as the tendrils continued to rain down, she would slash into them quickly, tearing them to shreds.

After the woman’s attack was no more Astrid looked back to Aether and Erika, watching Alexander attack the two. But the slayer herself had a plan. She saw an opening, and she would take it. After the leader’s attack on Erika would either hit or miss the silvernette would attempt to rush toward the colorful woman, aiming to blindly swipe at any part of her with the magic infused claws.

The knight was pesky and dodged the attack, it was expected, she just wished to test the waters a bit and see what sort of abilities they had; the girl, on the other hand, got nicked by the threads and was saved by the rune knight leader. Well, Erika should say girl, but now she knew her name a quite a bit about her and was filled with confusion... Erika was now fighting what acquainted to an angry fetus? The world was a strange place indeed, but more importantly, the girl was also a dragon slayer, a white dragon slayer. Erika didn't understand why it had to be white, and she debated shape shifting her pigmentation in order to avoid potentially stronger hits against her, but that would just be silly, she was a blue dragon, not a white one, and was currently in a more human form anyway, that and she wasn't racist, she just viewed all humans as trash. As Astrid got cut however Erika had a bit of the thread be cut off and linger within the wound, for she had an idea, and it would be marvelous, just like all of her ideas.

The attack from the rune knight was swift, he wasn't playing around, battlefield experienced showed and if Erika actually cared enough she would give him a bit more respect, but as it stood she was just doing this for sport. She thought for a second, this guy was strong but not the main threat to her, instead it was the girl who might be able to deal more damage, so despite the fact that she didn't wish to effectively abortion punch this girl, she had no choice but to tactically attack her first, that and Erika's idea was too funny not to do.

"Hey girl you got something on your face!"

As the blasts came towards Erika's body she moved into the tiny thread that was inside of Astrid's cut in order to avoid the hit, even though her body which was now just threads got smashed and blown up. Rapidly turning herself into threads as Astrid was rushing towards Erika's latest blown away position. Rapidly growing the threads from the wound, Erika had half of her body manifest out from Astrid and raised to smash it into her face.

    "It was pain!"

Even if the girl managed to dodge the attack from her, Erika would teleport a bit away to the side of the girl which faced away from the Rune Knight leader and would finishing rebuilding herself. and would attempt to manifest not only more threads underneath Astrid but from the wound where she still left some bits of her, in order to try and bind her down and prevent her from further involving herself in this battle. Besides, it would be more fun to have her as a captive anyway if Erika desired to get some favors from a few certain guild masters.

His reputation did not proceed him as much as Azise knew about him. She remembered his exam and entrance into his guild, and recalled Elyx’s irritation as she intervened without much knowledge on the situation. Naturally, however, he had no idea who she actually was. In this war, all anyone might know her as was Azise, the Kitsune mercenary for hire. She had been pretending to be on the side of the magic council, however, yet he was addressing her as if she were an enemy? Seriously, would an enemy just approach to flirt and chit-chat with an opponent? Maybe the stupid, cliche, ones, but she was approaching in an amiable manner...maybe he wanted a fight, and did not care about who it was with?

“Well, I’m no enemy of yours, Hero-kun~” the Kitsune would replied with a casual shrug and friendly smile. “Just a little fox hired by the Magic Council to fight… but if you insist, I can humor you with a little match.”

Without another word, Azise would begin walking towards him, tail swaying behind her, countering the movement of her hips. Once she was within a few feet of him, the Ayakashi would summon an orb of golden energy and instantly thrust it at him without any warning, as it moved with her hand at alarming speeds. “Just you and me, in a little game~!”

War...War Never Changes... - Page 3 Empty Re: War...War Never Changes...

Post by Mura Kensho 1st February 2017, 9:05 am

Quite far from the hotspot of the war, Mura found himself left out for a brief second. He must’ve been too late, in which he grinded his teeth a little. “Mura,” the samurai ghost interrupted, “Don’t boil up. It won’t help you…” After a brief second, the shaman’s face eased, while his body felt at peace once again. He didn’t have time to hate the war, he was at an even more important role at the moment. He felt the ghastly presences of many fallen warriors ascend to the heavens from this spot alone, which distracted him from the life of the living at the moment, so he shook off the curiosity of watching them reach their final home. There was still a way to end the war, but that required him to engage once again. And so, he made his way again, soaring up to the sky and diving into the lively battlefield again.

From above, he could spot the most of destruction that both Rune Knights and Navrick soldiers caused… however, they had fought enough with soldiers versus soldiers. Where was the lead of this army? “Zirconis!” he spoke up to his draconian spirit, “Try and search for our general! I think that his name was something along… ehm, Alex? I guess.” The dragon quickly nodded and dove into the waves of Navrick soldiers who retreated all of a sudden, supposedly by a call from their own leader. Spotting a single figure charged towards their base, wielding a gun and a sword. Worried, the dragon ghost returned at Mura’s position in the sky, revealing: “There’s one among the Navrick guys who doesn’t appear to flee yet… what are you waiting for?!” The shaman felt a little forced to rush by the dragon spirit, but if it was to be their own leader, then that would only do a major change in the result of the war. Not hesitating, Mura began descending quickly, diving his body into the dust that rose from the dirty ground of the battlefield, while the soul of this hired general became more and more visible. Takumi was there too, a close guildmate of his, in which he decided to come and surprise the opponent with a tag-team hit. Heck if she wielded a gun too; with a swift move with his right hand, Harusame was readied as he found himself approaching her closer and closer. “KYUKEN! NOW!” he roared, aware that he might’ve given a call of warning to the opponent, in which he rushed towards the front of her. “Takumi! Give it all that you’ve got! Now!” A bluish light would surround his very contour, while the silhouette of a much more skilled and fearsome samurai made its appearance behind his. Swinging down the katana, he hoped to start off the clash between a mage, or rather the two of them, and the general of Navrick with him starting with the first blow…

As they approached Aether noticed the sudden dispersal of the enchantments on the blades he had collected along with the change on the enchantment of the Captain’s blade, one that he had seen in the war only moments before. Without even needing to send a message to Umbra she spread her wings wide, slowing their decent just as a powerful shockwave knocked them up to a halt in the air, putting Umbra off balance for a moment only to regain herself mere moments later. Aether himself was unaffected by the shockwave, remaining on Umbra’s back he walked up and onto her head and stared down at the commander and the other combatants around him, a woman with claws of light rushing from where the commander was to what he could only see as a woman made of strings which could no doubt be created from magic, a summon? Regardless he could see her as an ally if the woman that was with the enemy commander was attacking her. He took in everything from this small part of the battle in mere moments, formulating a plan and relaying it to his companion who had no option but to go along with it.

Taking a step from the Abyss Walker’s head he began to enter free fall only to end up positioning himself in Umbra’s open palm which had pulled back close to her as if preparing a palm strike, his coat absorbing the shadows that covered the underside of the creature. Aether pulled his legs in as close to him as he could, preparing to spring out of her hand as she thrust her palm towards the enemy commander, launching him at a terrifying speed just as a large explosion appeared before him, his sight within the skies and focused on behind the armored man. Grasping his staff Aether focused his power into the tip of his finger and tapped the tooth-like head of the weapon, instantly jumping from the danger that was before him to directly behind the enemy commander, his feet touching down with barely a sound as he managed to manipulate his own bones to completely negate the speed he had picked up from the launch, the explosion managing to mask where he was and the sound of him touching down. As he landed he pulled a knife from his shadow dimension, reshaping it to bind to the centre of the armor’s back as he went to place his hand upon the embedded bone. Bone Demon’s Refusal. Aether thought as his gloved hand touched the embedded bone, sending it and the armor it was connected to soaring in the direction the woman with claws of light had run off towards in a direct collision course. Let’s see if he’s willing to harm his ally with an explosion powerful enough to slow him down, or if he’ll abandon his armor. The skeleton questioned, consuming one of the many bone knives he kept within his shadow dimension.

It was clear that those against Navrick were not wishing for her to get close to Alexander. A shame, really, that she would have to fight others before getting the joy of slitting that bastard's throat! Her handgun would fire accurate shots at the few that would come charging at her, many releasing magical spells as she slowly strode forward through the now empty battlefield. There were not many left, given both sides had had the standard troops retreat. Much to Nicolette's surprise, a few of her fellow mercenaries had not heeded the order to retreat and stayed behind her. These ones could hold their own against the mages incoming, they may not survive but they would be able to hold them off long enough for other mages to take care of them so she could get the the Rune Knight leader. One would block the sword of the man leaping at her, the large blades in his care would negate the lightning and keep it from charging to the mercenary. A second would fire shots at the girl that was coming a bit too close for their concern, though the angered woman's shots would also come at the girl at the same time. The third would go for another woman, one with mangled looking wings. A flurry of blows would be had to keep the Navrick-hired mercenary leader safe and sound as well. The forth mage, one that seemed to yell the lightning using mage's name for some odd reason, would find himself charging through a string of totems that would burst out a torrent of painful air waves. These waves would deal immense damage if he kept coming at her, and if he did keep coming at her she would simply unload the last few shots she had until the weapon would require reloading and meet the injured mage in combat; as there was no way he could avoid injury from the blasts if he wished to confront her as he seemed to be attempting.

"Alexander! Stave off your dogs and maybe I will let them live! I wish to fight you, not these mindless magic users that do the Magic Council's corrupt bidding!" The woman would yell loudly, the anger and sound of combat making her speak harshly so that she could be more easily heard.

    Clean Version:

    "The Rune Knights Will
    Return To Glory
    !"

As much as he disliked mages, he knew that they were strong and a force to be reckoned with.  Clearing his throat, he swung once at Aether only to feel an impact on his armor, which sent him flying away from the battlefield, leaving Astrid alone near those two brutish mages.  Focusing on keeping his grip upon the weapon, Alexander slid across the ground, scraping his armor in the process.  The friction from sliding across the ground started to heat up his armor to the point that the armor started to glow a pale red color.  Upon coming to a stop, Alexander slowly got up, using his blade as a cane to help himself back onto his feet.

~These mages supporting Navrick are too strong.  If I don't pull out now, all of the mages working for the side of the Rune Knights will be killed.~ Alexander thought to himself as he started to be conflicted with his orders and performing his duties as the battlefield commander of the Rune Knights to protect his men and women serving him.  ~Disposable soldiers.  Who are you kidding?~ he thought to himself as his eyes beamed towards Nicolette for a moment.

Shifting his weapon's enchantment from an explosive one to a blade of light, Alexander raised his blade into the air, filling the air with blinding light.  This light could be seen for miles and miles and still provide the same blinding effects to those sensitive to light.  However, being that this was a battlefield, 200 meters would be more than enough to do that.  After the blinding, Alexander reached to his side to his horn and pressed it up against his lips and blew the horn.  This was the sound of retreat.  He replaced the horn and looked towards Nicolette for a moment.  "Next time, Nico."

Alexander knows that by calling for a retreat, he would be put in the stockades for his treachery.  But Alexander doesn't care; the life of the people under his charge was more important.  With mages as strong as Nicolette, Aether, and Erica, there would most certainly be tragedy.  But with a close enough look at their faces, he would be able to identify them out of a mage registry; turning them in to the Rune Knights and Magic Council if necessary.  After the call for retreat, Alexander simply waited for Astrid before making his escape, himself.

After a blinding flash stunned my opponent, some random merc who blocked me from striking at the Navrick commander, a horn sounded for a retreat from my side, signalling for me to jet.
I steeled myself, gritted my teeth, and called up my True Creation Spell. I made Two golems, and I climbed into one of the palms of the golems, and had them throw me far back over to the end of my lines, and way farther, landing nearly a mile or so from the nearest line in the hind of my forces. (Well, I say my forces, but they're not technically.) In mid-flight, I commanded the golem I made to charge down and stomp on the commander. From there, I couldn't tell you what happened, since I was no where near them any longer.

Yet, as Mura found himself charging at the Navrick soldier’s torso, he spotted the actions around him thanks to Kyuken’s support to his clairvoyance and field of vision. What appeared to be heeding mercenaries surrounded the picture; each acting in their own way to change the clash. Although, he only managed to spot them and not track their movements, because he suddenly found himself - or rather, the ghost inside of him did - in a whirlpool-like surrounding filled with what looked like small statues or totems, each emitting a massive, magical power. “Shi-“ he barely let out, before the entire picture lit up in a huge torrent of wind and waves that surrounded and engulfed his body from tip to toe…

His body wouldn’t be seen on the field afterwards. Not a single trace of him was left… or that was what he thought, except a few things; the spirited form that was now him had manifested. If the Navrick soldier was that offensive, then moving to a more supplementary fighting style would sound splendid, in which he proceeded to enter her own body’s spiritual structure; however, as he was about to, a blinding light enveloped his vision. It came from behind, from the commander of their army. A horn was blown as well, and Mura had a strong idea of its meaning. Although, it was a rare sight; to see a general call back his army in worry of their lives was distant for a rather peaceful boy like him who'd been involved in worse cases. I guess that this is our chance to depart, he thought, in which Kyuken could hear those thoughts clearly, Let's leave her for now. He would then open his mouth, so that Nicolette would hear him as he was yet to become visible: "It's quite early, but this is where I take off. Live well." His voice wouldn't be heard in that area again as his ghostly form was making its way across the battlefield, passing even Astrid and Alexander...

    Stats:

    @Nicolette: :p
@Me: Crossing the battlefield towards my base as a ghost, don't mind me.

Just about as a stronger soldier she didn't notice at first was going to strike her down a bright light shone in the distance. Zoey didn't even think one moment further. The field was nearly empty now, at least, the part she had to cross. As the Nicolettes bodyguard was still trying to regain his sight from looking in the light Zoey herself took a run to it. If this wasn't unmistakably an order to retreat, the horn after certainly was and they didn't have to tell Zoey twice. She did her best not to look around and look at the wounded or even dead ones of both sides around her. This entire battle had no point at all.

All the ones lost here, for what? For some idiotic plot to recapture or protect some strange clock? Neither way, no good could come from it either way. This clock, it had to be destroyed. It was the only positive outcome, if just to prevent such a war to happen again. For now, she had to get out alive herself. She didn't really come across someone who was too wounded to walk herself, and even then those mercenaries might still be on her track. This battle... Zoey would certainly ponder over it later. Whether she wanted to or not.

And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

It was almost too easy, the way her claws manged to tear through Erika's skin upon contact. And she was right to think so, the body before her revealing to be nothing more than a jumbled mess of loose strings now, cut in half and frayed from the slayer's claws. She stepped back, taken aback by the mage's disappearing act. "... What?" the ace questioned, crimson eyes widening as she looked around for any sign of the woman. But she did not have much time to contemplate, as within a couple of seconds, and entire half of a human's body manifested from the open cut on her cheek. Though freaked out by such a thing the slayer was still able to raise her arms and cross them over one another to block the attack, taking the impact, but just not on her face.
Feeling the cut begin to sting once more the silvernette winced back and covered it with one hand, half to protect it and half to make sure something that weird didn't happen again. She turned her gaze back to Erika before her, who had fully manifested back into a whole body instead of just half. Just what was this girl? And what was this whole thing with her threads? It was creepy, popping out of someone's face like that. It was like that one movie she watched as a kid when those alien things popped out of people's chests. The name wasn't coming to her at the moment, but the images from the film were still the same. Was this girl an alien?
Though the cut was covered, it sadly wasn't enough to stop the threads still under Erika's control. The colorful threads quickly wriggled their way out from under her hand and the ground, latching onto her body and pulling her to the ground. Astrid tried and struggled, pulling her limbs forward, but the more she did so the tighter they seemed to get until she could no longer more, bringing her to her knees. She was stuck. Still stuck even after Alexander blew his horn and let out a blinding light, signaling the battle to end. They were retreating? Now? But they had come so far...
Even so, at least now Erika would have no reason to keep her like this. That was one upside.
Still struggling slightly against the threads, the ace stared up to Erika, red eyes narrowed. "The battle is over, there's no reason to keep me tied up. If you have even an ounce of honor you'll let me go."

Post by Special Snowflake 15th February 2017, 2:25 pm

Destruction being thrown around like candy left the feeling of this battle a little bit empty. The bone man struck against the knight which seemed to give Alexander a bit of a fright. Sounding the horn of retreat, Erika viewed Alexander with confusion. To run away after coming so far did none of this matter at all? Apparently, it mattered just as much as trying to make all of your sentences rhyme. Regardless, the sheer fact that Alexander wished to retreat in this instance left Erika bit sour, why would one wish to run away when they were having so much fun, this was an exercise in relaxation after all. There were no political discussions no negotiating, no back stabbing, it was just, a good old fashioned war where everyone was more or less honest. Some would say that is hypocritical of Erika due to her clones infiltration of the various ranks, but she was being honest she was here fighting right now, wasn't she? Just because she was smart enough to have several fall back plans didn't mean she wasn't being honest in enjoying a good scrap with her foes. All of those who claim she is arrogant or a hypocrite must just be unable to see her majesty for what it is, perfection incarnate. Speaking of those who can't see a bigger picture or of her majesty...

The young girl seemed to think that she wasn't going to be released by Erika; what a strange little thought, of course, Erika would release her! Sadly she wouldn't be released for a little while yet.

"Oh my dear, I will release you, just... not right this moment you have some use still. Also don't even pretend you didn't hear that... I know you can read lips."

Erika stated as she picked up some swagger to her walk and got closer towards Astrid so that she could see with greater clarity Erika's declaration (and majesty). With a small smile that would normally appear kind on others, Erika had a rift open up underneath Astrid, taking her to, well wherever Erika fancied far away from here. Course, Erika wasn't foolish, she figured the knight would try and save Astrid from falling into it, so just to be sure she also set "see through" portals up around Astrid's body, sort of like a one-way mirror so that the plight of Astrid could be seen by all but if they attempted to rescue her they might just get teleported straight into the middle of Sin. That would make for one exciting adventure, though if Astrid tried to roll around or something to escape through those portals, she need not fear for the side she was on led to the same location as the one underneath her, a wonderful little lab where she would be imprisoned for the time being.

As Alexander's light flickered throughout the area to stop the attack and to retreat Erika simply deconstructed and reformed her eyes out of threads to avoid being blinded for very long against this Alexanders attack. Thankfully due to Astrid hitting the floor as well and being covered in her threads the bone mans attacks were avoided as well, otherwise, Erika might be in quite the foul mood. Regardless, once Astrid was captured Erika would sigh, this battle was such a quick shot and she did ever so hate finishing premature, but if the enemy didn't have the stamina to fight on, who was she to judge them for it? They probably weren't worth all the trouble anyway, and it's not like she was also retreating within their forces or anything...
