Taking Treasure from Treasure Hunters [Job w/ Luna Jaeger]

It was a day like any other. Except it was not at all. First of all, it was already dark. Second of all, a ton of things happened in recent days. The Rune Knights, which were run by the Magic Council, were found to be guilty of corruption in the higher ranks of the order. Fiore's King ordered a Purge on the organization and the ones who were to carry that out were known as the Garou Knights. Hero himself was requested an audience with by an officer from that organization. Though the giant answered the call, he did not accept the invitation to join their ranks. The reason for that? Yamamoto felt that an organization led by royalty was ultimately doomed to corruption eventually and he did not want to commit to a faction that was not going to hold true to their ideals. Hero wanted something more than that, though he did not know or understand what it was he wanted. He did know though that he wanted the strength to genuinely protect those that are, or would be, close to him. That was the main thing spurring him forward currently.

After that whole thing happened, he continued to get mail from their organization regarding the Rune Knights and such though there was nothing substantial yet that drew the giant's attention. Meanwhile, his cousin Elyx had the man go on a little trip for him into this active volcano for a treasure chest. Yeah. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Hero was in there for about an hour and a half before he finally found it, though it was not that simple. It was slightly confusing as well, considering what happened. At first, there was Elyx who wanted to challenge him to get the chest by getting through him first. That was fine and all, but then another Elyx appeared. Yes, there were two of them but then it went downhill from there. The Elyx who had arrived second knocked the other Elyx on the head and then that Elyx poofed into a woman. The woman was explained to be the real Elyx's girlfriend and that she liked playing pranks on unsuspecting people. The man had already figured that something was off about the first Elyx but he never would have thought it was a shape-shifting tanuki woman. After all that nonsense, his cousin explained the reasons behind why he wanted Yamamoto to take this little game of a request and it made at least some sense, though it would have been easier to just ask. The giant had no legitimate reason to deny the offer from his cousin so he accepted and thus joined the legal guild, Golden Phoenix. Hero also obtained an empty bottle from the chest; Elyx said that a good friend of his wanted to know what lava tasted like and wanted the giant to fill the bottle with some lava and take it to the friend. There was a problem with that though: he had no idea where to find that person. His only clue was that she worked as the guild's bartender when she was not out on jobs.

The bottle of lava was still in his house out of sight and it was likely going to stay that way until he knew exactly where to find that friend. If this person was a friend of Elyx, chances were high that they were also very strong though that of course was only conjecture. After that day, it was actually pretty quiet. Since there was no guild hall yet according to Elyx, there was no way for the man to know where that friend lived or worked, which meant he had to either wait for his cousin to give him another hint or try and search for them by going on some pilgrimage to every city and town in Fiore. He was NOT going to do the latter for the sake of one person whom he had never met before. Unfortunately, Hero was not kind enough to do something like that without some more legitimate reason than "they want to know what lava tastes like". There was one thing however that he deduced from that. The friend must have been a Slayer of some type and he also figured that they had to be a Fire Slayer. However, there were three known types of Slayers that they could have been; they were distinctly different in the way the types obtained their power. It was simply a matter that the man was not willing to handle just yet.

Just the day after that, yesterday, his cousin threw him under the bus metaphorically speaking. Granted he ended up not being alone for the entire ordeal but it was pretty intense. I mean... it was not every day one got to take on a horde of ravenous, bloodthirsty werewolves on a Perfect Moon with three other people until the sun came up. That was a really intense night, though he and the others managed to get through the night with non-lethal injuries, save for himself whom was covered in bruises from the smacks he took by that behemoth of a beast in the village. It would have been a lot worse, had that man Kite not gotten there to lay down more damage on it. When the sun finally came up, all of the turned villagers returned to normal and the group of four people were thanked by the village elders who knew it was going to happen from the start. All in all, it turned out to be another invaluable experience for the giant. One step closer to arriving at his destiny and learning of his parents' deaths.

This day began somewhat early in the morning and with a bit of an interesting find. There was a job regarding a Wizard Saint's tomb somewhere in the Ancient Ruins, but there was a more interesting thought that occurred to the giant. Those ruins seemed to be the center of a lot of these strange occurrences, such as that machine invasion from near two weeks ago. That itself was something to look into at a later date but this job may have been a good opportunity to raise the reputation of Golden Phoenix. Although, something like this would have been more fun with another person along for the ride. Someone else from the guild would have been the best option, but who? Yamamoto was still only part of the guild for two days so he did not know many of the other members. Plus, the hall still was not ready, which meant there was no place for everyone to meet daily and that made things pretty difficult. Hopefully, he could come across someone if he lingered around this job board a while longer.

Things had seemed to gone awry the last week for the young lass which captained he black vessel clinging to the skies overhead, it was certainly not a normal day when she had left the guild which she felt like was home - however this new home fit her much better than the other despite her personal ties and feelings on the matter. Luna had made sure everyone knew she wasn't staying around after that civil war, and so she had joined Golden Phoenix lead by Elyx Reiaki, however she still intended to maintain ties to the gild and this seemed to be true however some members of her former guild resented her, which brought her to the current drama which made this an overly humdrum week for the woman. Elyx wasted no time in assuring her that it was the right choice, however, as he had put her in charge of several large projects over the guild - primarily with the creation of Jaeger Industries which was still burgeoning and growing into a business of itself from the first commercial success with the construction of the Behemoth, however she had been in charge of a large transportation project that had been a major success. Now, she came in for her customary daily run when she noticed the ggantine male out of the corner of her eye. She had noticed her was standing before the job board, and spoke up in a dulcet tone. "Looking for a partner to run with you on a job, Hero-tan? I'll do this job with you, if you are willing..."

The woman was one Hero would recognize would he have been to any major Golden Phoenix events. She was a beautiful woman, silken curls of black hue frame the beautiful woman's countenance and fall to the mid of her back, yellow-hued irises focusing intently at the point of her short curved nose. Luna stands at a trimmed and lithe build with a height of five feet and eight inches, thin shoulders paired with vivacious curves and well-endowed physical assets. Luna wears a low-cut split dress of black hues with black-and-green raven feathers stitched in at the shoulders. A brown leather corset provides some protection to the maiden along with a satchel strapped to dangle off one side. Finally, black lace stockings rise high paired with long black leather heeled boots. The golden phoenix as emblazoned on the back of her dress as well, so to say she was a fellow of the guild would be an understatement. She looked to the other man, observing him politely while awaiting his response for her. He seemed to be physically strong - surely a physical fighter though for her lithe form it wouldn't look as if she was one, though she was in-fact a physical fighter though she didn't use raw physical strength but preferred on speed and technique. Luna could start to imagine what kind of magic Hero used off-hand, though whether her assertions were correct was another entirely.

Outside in the night sky, the slim lines of black and white metal formed the shape of the Behemoth, an aerial skyship which utilized the newest of technologies from Neutral Grounds in it's device and mechanics. The ship itself seemed to defy all limitations of technology, however while it was a cutting edge ship it used only the technology which could be provided by the factories of the neutral ground and was not some vessel from the future. The outer hull, while titans-bane, took on a unique sheen and form thanks to the one who had carved it. The weapons - consisting of a prow rail cannon, the point defense system, and three lacrima cannons, were currently disabled and would remain so for now. It was Luna's pride and joy and the finest work of Jaeger Industries.

Some amount of minutes the man did not care to count passed by as he looked around with the job in hand. There really was no better alternative to this as wandering around aimlessly would have provided the same amount of nothingness as just standing in one area looking about the area, which was moderately populated. Due to the giant's time as a Rune Knight, back when they were in full force, there were plenty of people whom recognized him mainly because of how tall he was. There was a mail person who came up to him at one point and started a bit of a conversation on Hero's views on the Purge that was supposed to happen any day now. That was a matter Yamamoto could not really discuss with others considering it was supposed to be mostly classified. The mail person did the majority of the talking though so that was of benefit at least and eventually the subject was changed to Hero's own doings. Hero told the person about his run-in with the village-infested werewolves and about that time he prevented an invasion of living machines in the Ancient Ruins. After that, the giant mentioned that he was waiting to head into the Ruins again in search of a tomb that was supposedly there by word of the Magic Council. He stopped there though since it seemed the mail person had to get going; they thanked him for what he had done for Fiore and for simple people like them and then drove off.

Yamamoto sighed after a few moments and then realized that several people were now looking at the large red-headed man whom was just talking about those impressive feats and a lot of them swarmed in around him. He was asked so many different things, a lot of the voices excited and equally thankful toward him. It took a while but eventually they all left. Apparently people started gathering around while he was telling those stories and he never noticed. The man also never noticed until just then that he lost all focus of his surroundings once he started monologuing. That was another flaw the giant needed to get rid of. It was an interesting feeling he got, however, when so many people listened to his couple of stories and admired him. Was this how reputations grew?

Shortly after that all happened, Hero was greeted by a woman's voice that sounded somewhat familiar. He looked around for a moment and his eyes stopped at the face of the woman whom called his name. Ah, so it was Luna Jaeger. It was so common to see her in clothes that accentuated her body that the giant was unfettered by the sight, though when they first met it was a slightly different story. The woman had asked if she could join him on a job and it seemed his request was somehow answered. The man nodded and then showed her the page with information on the task written on it in detail.

"It would be an honor to have a fellow member of Golden Phoenix join me on this endeavor. Shall we be on our way?"

"The honor is mine, Hero Yamamoto - formerly of the Rune Knights. Let us be on our way now, for I am sure that much awaits us within the ancient ruins. The woman allowed the giant to take first approach through the walls of the ruins labyrinth, but she wasn't any sort to leave him behind and so was nearly right aside him for the journey though to say she was seen and not heard was incorrect. No, the woman was aside Hero though she drafted through the crumbling material itself. It was a good spell for springing an ambush when sorely needed, but more for getting a clear view of the area layout.

Luna would keep tabs with Hero, eventually popping out of a wall and falling into line closely behind him. Unfortunately, the technique was limited in this way, but she didn't mind much. At the same time, Luna had another technique which could easily be deployed in order to ensure the two were quite simply not walking into an ambush. By constantly releasing rippling waves of air about herself, Luna is able to garner a form of 'sight without eyes'. She releases the air vibrations much like a wavelength and then a skin-tight field about herself is able to take measurements of an object or being, it's course, and it's a trajectory and velocity in a three-hundred sixty degree rotation around her.  with a radius of thirty meters around her.

This ability would come in useful to her sooner than thought as her 'all seeing eye' caught a glimpse of what was to come. At that moment, the woman brought her hand up towards the back of Hero's left arm while speaking in whisper of what was to come ahead for the two fo them. It seemed like the hunters had left some teams back to stop anyone from coming in on their find. Luna took to describing the situation in as much vivid detail as she could muster, "We're coming up on a rear part of them, eleven in total - six with leather jacks and swords, seem like novices; five veterans carrying the same plus various guns and hand-cannons. What's the plan?"

Tactics already filled the mind of the woman as she focused on what she could determine as their locations and formation, making a mental note of her abilities, spells, and powers to determine what the best plan of attack would be for herself. knowing little of what Hero could do himself, she only had to go on circumspect, though she knew that two of her abilities would be incredibly useful in the fight to come. She would likely have to come in with all of her big area wind spells, especially Devouring Gale and Thorn Bind Hostage - the former causing a gale to draw all of her opponents to her and the latter giving her full control over those novices with her wind strings. Paired with Hero's attack, this would deal with the group of them very quickly so the two wizards could progress to more important matters. She gave him a tug, letting him know that the enemies were coming up soon.
