    Job:

    “A tournament...?”

Jakob sat down on a bench posted outside a hotel that he'd previously been staying at while reading the note given to him by a messenger. The note talked about fame and fortune for winning the tournament, which every man could only wish to have. Jakob initially balled up the paper and threw it away, but a woman wearing a blue qipao with her hair in buns picked it up, looked at the paper, and returned it to Jakob.

“You should join, it could be fun! Don't you want money?” The woman said.

“Money doesn't interest me.” Jakob replied.

“What if I said you had the capability of stopping a terrorist organization?” The woman said.

“Helping the country doesn't interest me either.” Jakob once again replied.

“Fine, have it your way... I thought you'd be one to enjoy facing powerful foes and make a name for yourself.” The woman then left.

Jakob didn't know what it was about her last sentence, but he found himself now at registration. The silver haired man walked up to the man at the counter, and looked around before speaking.

    “Is this where I register?”

“Here's a clipboard. Go over there and sign up.” The man pointed to an area with a bunch of chairs where a ton of combatants were signing themselves up. Jakob followed his finger's point and went over and sat down. He proceeded to fill out the clipboard.

    Name: Jakob Re'Vai
    Stage Name:
    Age: 20
    Height: 6'5”
    Weight: 170 lbs
    Guild/Faction/Temple: Sleeping Forest
    Magic: Sand Magic – Fortification
    Fighting Style: None
    Previous Tournament Entry Number: 0

Note: If you are caught using any pets, weapons, armors, or anything that isn't your regular fighting capabilities or magic, you will be disqualified. ReQuip mages, Summoners, and Holder Magic users are exempt of this rule, so long as you only use the weapons or pets that your magic creates/uses.

Jakob, when about to return to the person and give back the clipboard, was confronted by a man in a pink gi. The man bumped into Jakob, clearly on purpose, and caused the sand mage to drop his clipboard. Instantly, Jakob felt a deep hatred for this man, plus he felt basically no magic prescence from this man, so either he was a warrior without magic, or a very weak mage. For some reason, Jakob knew it was the latter. The man picked up Jakob's clipboard, and returned it to him, and began to try to make conversation.

“I saw you didn't put anything for your stage name. Why?” The man stated, however Jakob gave no response.

“I mean, my stage name is 'The Ultimate Warrior,' obviously because I am!” Once again, Jakob gave no response.

“Wow, you are definitely a man of few words... Wait that should be your stage name!” The man snatched Jakob's clipboard out of his hands, and wrote “The Man of Few Words” in the stage name section, and shoved it against Jakob's chest.

“Sorry if I need to kick your butt with my ultimate fighting style...” The man said while walking off. Jakob, now happy that nuisance was gone, walked back up to the previous man and gave him his clipboard. The man gave Jakob a slip of paper, which read “#205 – Cam, the Cannon Destroyer.” Jakob assumed that'd be his first opponent, but considering there were already fights going on he knew it would be a while before he'd actually fight someone. Therefore the “Man of Few Words” walked back over to the seating area, where he sat and watched the television which showed the fights that were already going on.

"Excuse me sir!" A slim woman wearing a blue qipao with her hair in buns approached Kai. "Are you interested in joining this tournament?"

She held out a piece of paper. Kai read it not to be rude. It was a pretty straight forward battle system. Kai had nothing better to do at the moment. Still fighting seems like too much work at the moment. He had originally came to Talonia Arena to catch a show. Not be in one.

"No thanks" Kai gave as a response after reading it over.

“Oh please there is a big reward and we need more contestants! It’s a charity event.” She pouted making Kai feel a little (actually a lot) guilty.

“Sure. If it is to help other people out why not.” Kai reluctantly sat down as she handed him a clipboard from the nearby vendor.

Watching the Women’s retreating figure Kai felt really suspicious. He was dressed in ordinary street clothes as usual. He doesn’t have a guild tattoo or anything. The fact that this woman singled him out and asked him to join a tournament for mages was odd. Unless she was able to sense magic she wouldn’t have known to ask. Or maybe she was just asking everyone.

“Ugh” He sighed aloud. Too much speculation was starting to give him a headache. He read the sheet and started to fill in his information.

    Name: Jones, Kai

    Stage Name: Torrent

    Age: 20

    Height: 5'11”

    Weight: 147 lbs

    Guild/Faction/Temple: N/A

Magic: Dark Water Dragon Slayer - Dark Make

    Fighting Style: Tai Chi

    Previous Tournament Entry Number: 0

He read the note at the bottom and ignored it. Some of the information on Kai’s sheet may be wrong. He did not have Water Make magic but he could make it look like he did. Besides if his magic was a bit different they wouldn’t be able to question it. They would just mistake it for pure dark dragon slayer.

Kai looked up to see someone that would have been described as a terrorist in his village. The white hair and light skin tone alone, almost had him doing a double take. He must have been a mage of sorts because his outfit seemed ridiculous by Kai’s standards, it was very inconspicuous (not). The guy must have sat as Kai wrote.

Making sure to turn in the paper work and receive his number. Which was “#204- Detective Chun” Kai is not slow but it took him a second to figure out that was the enemy's name. The white devil looked like a Chung. It would not seem weird if Kai struck up a conversation.

“So you must have entered into this tournament too.” Kai sat down next to the guy and continued talking. It was more of a statement then a question. “The name is Kai. That’s a nice tatoo you have.” Since Kai was sitting so much closer Kai could almost make out the details.

It was a bit silent as more and more people left the hall. He waited for a response from the could be Chun and decided to whistle. It would help him pass the time and feel less bored. Kai stopped whistling not wanting to be rude. But then he could not keep himself from fidgeting the entire time. Hard not to when all you are trying to think about is not moving.

A man walked up to Jakob, apparently wanting to make conversation. The man of the sand looked at him and raised an eyebrow, then lowered his scarf that was around his mouth to make conversation. With the first sentence, Jakob gave no response because it was quite obvious. The second, however he did dignify with one.

    "Thanks."

It was quite the miracle that this man could even see his tattoo. It was on his eye, and was only a barely brighter blue than his natural eye color. But that didn't matter, the so-called "Man of Few Words" looked up to find the woman from before, in a blue qipao standing in front of them.

"So you did come, 'Man of Few Words!' I'm Chun, you might know me from somewhere. Anyways, the person at the desk told me you're up. Go knock 'em out, and I hope to see you soon!" The woman nodded to Jakob, whom stood up and gave Kai a look and a nod.

"You would be a formidable foe, I believe. I sense a magic strength on par with my own. Watch my fight." Jakob nodded once again, took off his scarf, and left it on the chair he was sitting at. Soon, on the television Jakob could be seen walking in, where a woman clad in green in a skimpy tight suit walked forward.

"OH MY GOODNESS! HERE IS A MATCH UP I COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE.... WHICH IS LIKE ALL OF THEM!!! BUT HERE IS ONE MATCH THAT'S SURE TO BE REMEMBERED, I HOPE! CAM, THE CANNON DESTROYER, FACING OFF AGAINST JAKOB, THE MAN OF FEW WORDS!!!

The annoying and loud announcer boomed throughout the arena, and Jakob stood his ground. The arena would slowly begin decintegrating underneath him, the earthy sandstone changing into a pure sandy state. The woman that opposed him ran forward, and her foot charged with green energy. Jakob showed no sign of fear, and waited for the last second, until the woman struck a wall. A sphere now surrounded Jakob, made entirely of hardened sand.

"I've won." The man said, as a wave of sand went forward, roughly where the woman was. He couldn't see her, which was the bad part about this spell. He heard a grunt, so he'd assume that that was her getting hit. He could hear clanking against the steel-like sphere in all different directions, The crowd could see the green flames that lay around Cam's foot in a blur, striking in all directions against Jakob's impenetrable fortress that was his sand. Suddenly, right when Cam was standing unguarded, the sand sphere around Jakob fell apart, and Jakob dashed through with a shortsword made of sand. He slashed the woman in the stomach, creating a wound as if the blade weren't made of sand at all.

"You don't... know... who you're dealing with!!!" Cam ran behind Jakob in almost an instant, and elbowed him in the back, causing him to fall to his knee. Lucky for him, sand covered his body, and the blow was heavily softened, so he swiftly turned around and slashed the woman twice, once in each arm. Cam dashed back, and jumped in the air, but not to strike, instead she faked out, and quickly dived down back onto the ground and swept Jakob off of his feet, and put three fingers hard down upon his chest. Jakob didn't know what occurred, for he couldn't move. He lay there, defenseless, for what was about to happen.

"Cockiness doesn't get you anywhere, pal." Cam's words echoed through Jakob's mind.

Surprised, to say the least would be an understatement. When Kai first sat down next to the stranger it was under the guess that the man was Chun. Turns out it was just another contestant preparing for battle. The only reason Kai learned this, was because the real Chun introduced herself. Not to him of course. But it is not like she was whispering.

    “Oh um”

Kai could not speak so well. He was struck dumb by the fact that Chun, was none other than the signup lady. She was so nice, a bit pushy in a weird way, but all thing considered nice. Judging a book by a cover her may very well get himself killed. Creep silent guy on the other hand just got up and left for his battle.

“So are you ready for our battle?” Chun was looking at Kai as if he was a mouse, and she was a cat going to play with him. Kai is not a strong looking guy, with most of his features being average except his skin tone, but he felt offended by her tone of voice. She looked like a nice person before. The time for battle must really contort her mind. “If you are I suggest you follow me.”

Kai followed outside to the battle ground. Sounds of cheering could be heard before he reached the stage. The people cheered like madman. Telling Chun to rip him a new one, among other profanities he care not to even think about in his head. Or when he visits home he would have to apologize to his mom for the thoughts. The announcer came on over a loudspeaker system.

“Ladies and Gentlemen. The slaughter...I mean match you guys want to watch. The newcomer Torrent versus one of the raining veterans. The Goddess of kicks, the mistress of roundhouse, the demon of snapshots! DETECTIVE CHUN!”

At the shout of her name the area went nuts again. This chick really irritated him. First she makes him sign up for a fight he really does not want. Then she gets all this applause while Kai was made to look like a background boss on a roleplay sight.

“Now on the count of three contestants fight! 1…..2..….3!”

As soon as the judge finished counting. The ***** kicked him twice in the chest knocking him over. It was not overly hard just really fast. He let out a laugh. She was fast, if she was able to hit Kai within the second he was trying to get over his irritation. If Kai continued to let his guard down, no doubt she would wipe the floor with him. The damage faded some as his body started to repair itself. Kai stayed on the floor not because he had to but because it was comfortable and he really did not feel like moving. Still a battle was a battle. Placing his hands on the ground he prepared his spell.

“Hey are you knocked out already? Man. I thought you would be a harder opponent.” she was taunting him as he prepared. “I bet you can’t…….waah!” Her last sentence was stopped as she flew upwards, from the force of the dark waterspout Kai made underneath her.

“Nope. I was just working on that.” Kai smiled as she started to follow down. Gravity taking it’s effect.  ”While I am at it!” She was very close in range so Kai compressed his magic and shot a water bullet at her. Managing to put a hole in her arm.
