Tossing and turning on the king-sized bed with her fluffy sleeping companions, the insomniac redhead failed for the fifteen hundredth time in her attempt to fall back asleep. It was seven on the clock and the faint rays of light seeping through her thick, sanguine drapery shone down on her blanket-covered bottom. Lynn let out a dissatisfied groan before sitting up bolt upright, crimson hair a nest created by an intoxicated bird above her cranium.

"Ughhhhh, fuck mornings," grunted the grumpy redhead as she tore the sheets off her voluptuous frame. "I don't fucking do mornings and sunshine fuck that shit," she continued to complain while shuffling towards the bathroom, snatching her grey towel on the way. She wasn't usually this irritable, but seeing how she had only three hours of sleep after a night of heavy drinking, it made sense. Hangovers weren't something that ever occurred to Lynn. After freshening up and brushing down her cavewoman hair in an attempt to tame it, the fierce Saber got dressed up in her usual clothes, putting more layers than usual as it was quite chilly outside and as soon as she swung her chamber door open, a piece of perfumed paper flew straight in her face from who knows where, and remained stuck to it. A very annoyed expression could be seen as Lynn yanked the paper off her face, almost shredding it to pieces before noticing the words 'job request' on it. A raw nerve popped on her right temple as she quickly skimmed the deets. Stuffing the paper between her breasts with a permanent scowl painted on her face, Lynn paced down the stairs that would lead her to the bar where usually half of the guild was. After the expansion of the guild (a town, can you believe it?) people seemed to have floated elsewhere. Lynn still preferred to go there first before roaming to the expansion area.

The sound of her barbaric guildmates causing a ruckus did not lower the least. Even though Hika (the new guildmaster after Raven) had given them an enormous area of land to go about brawling or whatever, they still managed to make the bar seem like a place for heavy wrestling. Lynn strode through the commotion towards the exit, swiftly moving through the double doors outside where the icy wind bit into her skin at first touch. She almost shivered, but with enough self-control, kept her pace bearing the cold as she entered the vast town that was now within the guild's premises. "I can't believe I have to go all the way to one of those stupid villages again. People there wear leaves for clothes," Lynn muttered to herself, head shaking in disappointment. "I better not be the only one," she yelled, head raised skywards as though shouting at the heavens.

Pein put his generator on and the loud noise of the metal cranking as it was making electricity was being heard over the small grass plane he was on. He was just out ace of spades the town directly under sabretooth. It wasn’t there that long yet but it was already thriving so good. Pein never thought a city could spawn out of nowhere so quickly. But it did happen and it was pretty nice. He didn’t had to walk for hours in the desert to go do shopping or go over the mountains to the capital for clothes. He plugged in the meatsaw and turned it on. The saw teeth started to spin around on the metal chain and it blurred into one line as you couldn’t see the teeth anymore. Infront of him was a elephant hanging on its legs from a pole. His feet were surrounded by metal chains so he was lifted up. pein threw the saw into the elephants belly and started to cut big pieces out. The blood splattered all over him. that’s why he was doing it half naked so that his clothes weren’t ruined. When he had a couple of pieces of raw meat laying at his feed he stopped the saw and took out a metal hook piercing it trough all the tree pieces. He then dragged It to a car sized dog food bowl. And put it in the bowl.

A gigantic dragon was sitting in front of it. it was realy big but it didn’t had wings and he was completely covered in big cannons and metal armor. While his giant jaws were eating the meat pein climbed up his pet and started to do some repairs on the cannons. When they were ifre testing one of the cannons didn’t turn and he had to fix it. he was screwing on bolts and pulling on raddars. It must have been a weird sight. A completely blooded covered guy on top of a dragon making repairs. His hands covered in blood and oil were holding a piece of paper that got stuck in the radars of the cannon. It seemed the river village was being overrun by pieces of meat. Pein gained a smile on his blood covered face and shouted to his dragon.

“ eat up boy were going to river village there some flies you need to swat away.”, pein shouted and the dragon roared from its belly and swaalowed the elephant with chain and all. Pein jumped off and started to walk to the train while summoning a floating shower to wash himself. He had no time to lose so hell wash him while walking. Wondering if there would be anyone else.

    Spoiler:

The blonde nun sighed as she stepped into the train carriage and managed to find her seat. With the Guildmasters creation of the town below their guild hall, there had been an enormous amount of paperwork involved, not only with the Magic Council, but also landowners, planning permissions, trade associations, let alone the travel connections that had to be established so that the town could at least survive on its own.

Then there was the ensurance of security around the Sabertooth Guild Teleportation Lacrima station on the ground level, as well as establishing further security at the Guild Hall's end of it. Last thing anyone wanted was for infiltrators to gain access to the guild hall, or anyone by accident just from getting too close. Not to mention evacuation routes should anything occur... oh dear Maker the insurance set ups alone for the new town below the Guild Hall... Kiersa was still having nightmares about all the numbers and figures she'd had to sort out for it all.

But no sooner had she sent off the paperwork mountain, a new form arrived in her office/room. It was a job request that already had a pair of mages taking part. It seemed that a river village was under constant attack from bandits and was requesting aid in fending them off... and it could take a while. The blonde nun accepted the job, whilst even though she couldn't do much actual combat herself, no doubt the other two would be appreciative of the support, not to mention the people of the village as well could no doubt use some of her assistance as well.

She looked at the job request once more whilst she waited for the train to depart. One name she recognised was that of Pein's. It had been some time since she'd seen the cybernetic feline mage, who was also the Guild masters boyfriend. The other name she thought she knew but it wasn't quite there yet for her. Then again, there had been quite a few new mages joining their guild for one reason or another, so it was only natural that she would lose track of them all.

Kiersa looked out the window and blinked at the sight that befell her eyes, that of a massive drakonid like creature armed with twin cannons and various other body parts made from what appeared to be a metallic alloy. She then rubbed the bridge of her nose, as her memory vaguely recalled seeing the paperwork concerning this creature... in particular whom it was partnered with.

"Why am I not surprised he's bringing that along?" she sighed, finding it a tad... over the top given their mission parameters. Especially the location. Who brings a massive mechanical drakonid to a river village? The beast was as likely to sink the place as soon as it stood in the village given its enormous size. She briefly wondered if he had only be able to get away with acquiring this creature because of his relationship with the Guild Master.

Getting on the train was a pain in the ass. Lynn didn't like congested places. She preferred to take other peaceful forms of transport like on the back of her pet lion Zlatan, soaring above the puffy white clouds. Every single time she got on public transport, the unbearable body odor from the other passengers made her want to puke right there and then. She couldn't choose another form of transport now, however, as she had sent Zlatan to the village already to analyze and report the current situation. She was also supposed to meet the other two people who were to go on the job with her on the train, which she just found out a few seconds ago after reading the note on the bottom of the job sheet.

"If I had a dollar for every time the universe was mean to me, I'd be a billionaire," Lynn thought out loud, hopping onto the train and taking a seat next to a bubbly young girl who had a lollipop the size of her head in her hand. According to the details of the mission given on the request paper, the job might take long - not something Lynn was so excited to discover. Fanning herself with the sheet, the grumpy redhead looked from her left to right, checking to see if her partners were there. She spotted a bizarrely dressed blonde, sitting on the opposite side a few seats away. Only a few moments later did she notice the attire was that of a nun and she knew only one person who wore a nun’s outfit – Kiersa, one of the two paragons of Sabertooth. But maybe it was another nun. Lynn knew only one nun, but she knew there was more than a single nun in Fiore and they could be everywhere and anywhere. The scarred Saber could recall going on a job with Kiersa and Pein as Tane. They probably would not remember her if they saw her right now. Only Ardere remembered her, and that was because of his slayer ability to remember scents.

Crossing her right leg over the left, Lynn folded her arms over her chest as she let out a sigh. The train had begun moving towards their destination. Hopefully everything would go smooth and fast, the train ride and the job itself. Zlatan had reached the village, most likely, knowing the speed at which he flew without Lynn on his back.

As soon as the train stopped, Lynn got off, not wanting to experience train rides for probably like another year. "Now that that's over with, time to rumble," Lynn grinned, jerking her head to the side and completely forgetting the fact that she wasn't alone in this mission and would have to rumble with two other people on her side, which wasn't how she wanted to go about. "Shit," she muttered, realizing only then that she'd have to wait for her partners before rumbling. Plopping down on the nearest bench, Lynn patiently awaited the two's arrival.

Pein threw himself against the leather of the train seat. He was kind of regretting he didn’t bring a shirt with him as a lot of older people where shaking his head at him in disgust. Not because he looked bad but because it was just not done. His naked upper body was covered in scars from the many hunting party’s he went on. It made his muscles hide a bit although he didn’t was body builder muscled as he was more fast then strong. Or it was the other thing they were staring at. Like the little boy in front of him. he was looking at his shoulders very intensely. As the metal was connecting with his flesh there. Massive amounts of scars and blood veins were seen there. Some tubes entering his flesh being screwed in with screws. It was not that much of a pretty sight. He knew that but he didn’t care. His love hikari didn’t mind either so he was happy as it was.

He folded his arms behind his head and threw his legs on the table resting. He wondered what he should hunt on next. He did the most common animals of fiore already. He needed something bigger to test his skill. To bad there were no big dragons anymore. They would have made for a perfect hunt. Eating a big lizard would be fun.

He started to get a itch in his elbow and scratched. Although it didn’t go away. It was one of those phantom itches. It was really annoying. His mind sometimes forgot he didn’t had arms anymore. And pain and other feelings would come into them. It was really annoying as he couldn’t stop them. He remembered the first days he was using them. He broke fifteen glasses just because he couldn’t control the strength in them. He was really afraid to shake someone’s hand after he broke all the bones in a shopkeepers hand. He wasn’t allowed in that shop anymore.

The leather of the seat was rubbing against his skin as he was moving the small burned feeling of the harsh surface of the letter made him itching for a fight. the train made a shock as it started to brake for his destination. The squealing of the rails as they were holding back against the enormous weight of the train cars. Pein walked of the train as he made his way through te many people getting off. they would have to protect all these people when the bandits attacked. It was his job and he would finish it good. When he looked up he saw thane sitting on a bench. In her usual attire as always. He waved his hand and came closer to her.

The nun rested on the train, letting the carriages rising and falling patterns on the tracks lure her into a soft slumber, one that she felt needed after the sleepless nights she'd gone through dealing with the guild's paperwork. Something that she would be sure to bring up with Aiyanna and Hikari at... whenever their next meeting was, assuming they even held a meeting. She may be the Paragon of Selflessness, but even she had her breaking points.

When the train reached their stop, she almost slept past it if someone sat next to her hadn't been kind enough to gently shake her awake and check if this was her stop. A quick thank you later and she was scrambling out of the train, hoping that the others who were on this job as well hadn't left her behind. She saw them up ahead and immediately recognised Pein, mainly because she didn't know anyone else who had two robotic limbs, and from her exam with him. The other one seemed vaguely familiar... but she couldn't quite place her finger on it.

Regardless, these were her partners for this job and so she approached them at the bench. "Hello there." said the blonde nun in greetings to her temporary team-mates. Kiersa gave a short bow to the pair of them before looking around, as something was definitely not here as of yet. "Your companion doesn't seem to have arrived yet Pein... do you think we should wait, or hope he catches up later on?" she asked the cyborg feline regarding his behemoth drakonid with the cannons.

A thought occured to her that caused her some sudden concern. "Just... how accurate is your friend's aim? If he arrives after we do, I would prefer it if he could only hit the ones we want him to... we are here to help this village, not destroy it through collateral damage..." she asked Pein, becoming more and more worried about this job with this team by the minute. Her shields could only take so much punishment before they would shatter, and given how many unknown foes they were likely to be facing... the blonde nun would rather not have her allies do the work for the enemy.

Since they were all here, they might as well discuss how they were going to go about handling this job. "So..." she began, before realising she wasn't entirely sure what everyone's magical capabilities even were. Kiersa coughed slightly to regain her train of thought before speaking again. "I can provide shielding magic and some healing. I do know a few offensive spells, but nothing that potent, least not compared to my defensive spells... If any offensive support is needed though, I could call on the Celestial Spirits to help out." explained Kiersa, deciding to get straight to the heart of the matter.

The moment she heard her name being called, Lynn turned fully to face the source of the sound, a man probably around her age, waving a hand in her direction. Who was this man? She obviously didn't recognize him from anywhere so either he was a complete stranger who knew of her, or he had a total transformation of his appearance like herself. "Strange, I don't recall you from any past events," she murmured, not loud enough for the stranger to hear. She was talking to herself. Lynn walked towards him, anyway, so that he wouldn't have to walk too much. The male seemed to have something to say. Later, a nun approached them. "Nice," Lynn said to the nun, giving her a onceover before averting her gaze to the man with mechanical body parts, folding her arms over her chest. She had realized they were her job partners. "So...yeah," she started, and ended. Lynn had no idea what to say to them. What she wanted was to go to the job location as quick as possible and finish up real fast so she could go back home and rest. Yes, before even starting the job, Lynn was thinking about resting.

Thankfully, the nun began to speak, giving them information concerning her magic and how she can assist them in battle. Lynn didn't know exactly how to put her magical abilities in words so she just yawned and said, "Uh well, I can do some pretty dangerous things, and some not-so-dangerous things," uncertainly. She was a solo fighter, so being put in teams and such made her uncomfortable. She had what she needed on her own. Now having to cooperate and stuff like that made things difficult for her, actually. "And I'm Lynn, by the way. Care to introduce yourself? I know you though-" Lynn cocked her head in Kiersa's direction. "-Kiersa, Paragon of Selflessness." She remembered going on a job with the nun a while back, with another guild member known as Pein, or something like that. Little did Lynn know that they were with the same person again, just with a different appearance and metallic tubes poking out everywhere on his shoulder areas. The only thing that they needed to now was to leave their current location to get to the job location. She couldn't wait any longer. The more time they spent talking or idling around, the more time Lynn felt they were wasting. She was keen on getting that nap.

"Right, if we got everyone's deets, we can move now," Lynn told the two, leading the way towards their destination, the River Village. For some stupid reason, the sun was shining so bright it could blind you with just one look. Wasn't it supposed to be cold and nice? Winter?

Chelvaric looked up as the nun finally arrived at the bench too. He hadn’t seen her since they did the exam together. He was thinking deep about it as he wasn’t so sure if he was remembering that good. Ah it didn’t realy matter that much anyway. He was happy to see kiersa back again. She was a sort of mum to him. since it was her who got him off his bad side. He made a slight bow back to her and listened to what she had to say. He wondered when his pet would even arrive here.

“let’s just get this job on he’s probably take a couple of more hours to get here. I sometimes think a turtle goes faster. ”, chelvaric said and he rubbed through his hair. It seemed the dragon was starting to get old and he won’t survive that longer anymore. It was sad but nothing to do about it. he heard her next question and thought deep about it. yeah maybe he should think about that. last time he used the cannons he leveled a forest. If he would use it here it could hit some buildings. But they could still hit a couple of bandits too he supposed. “well it has two outcomes. It could hit straight on them. Or I could level the next neighborhood. It’s kind of hard to aim them but if we’re lucky we can do it! it would kill a lot of them. But I guess it could be a bit annoying.”, Chelvaric was thinking about it a bit more carefully. It would indeed be a bad thing. Ah well maybe he could have a use later or something. Anyway it seemed they had to know what magic he used and what the purpose was of it.

“well I use robotics to annihilate anything in front of me. I mainly have a high destruction output. But myself I have crowd control to keep the enemy’s at bay. I also buff the people around me.”, he said as he went over it in his head. Yeah he didn’t think he forgot anything about it. He wondered how they would react to his magic change. He stretched his metallic arms and made himself pumped up for the fights coming ahead. Bandits shouldn’t be that hard anyway.

“I am chelvaric, I though you would remember me from our last job. So happy that the tree of us are togheter again for another job. We had fun last time didn’t we. It seems we all got stronger and are better in our magics. Lets finish up this job and get a drink.”, he said loud and laughing at them before he nodded to lynn to start the job.

The blonde nun nodded as the two established what they could do, although Lynn was somewhat vague about her capabilities. But whilst the other girls magical capabilities were an unknown factor, it was Chelvaric's that she was having some... issues with, given the nature of this mission. Especially since his draconic companion could just as easily level them all along with the enemy.

She started to follow the pair towards the River Village, their destination for the job. As she walked, the blonde nun looked around them, trying to think on how best to maximise their chances of defeating this supposed massive army of bandits, whilst at the same time minimising the amount of damage to the villager's and their homes. Kiersa looked to the direction they were coming from, rubbing her chin.

"Chelvaric," asked the Paragon, "do you have any way of communicating with your friend across long distances?" Depending on how he answered would determine how she could possibly plan the situation out for them. Even though most plans fell apart upon contact with the enemy, even a rough guideline for them all would be better than nothing at all and just flying at the seat of their pants.

"If possible, I'd like you and your friend to focus your efforts on the direction of the main group of bandits when they're approaching the village. If possible, try to cause as much damage to them before they get anywhere near the village..." Kiersa suggested, trying to consider how best Chelvaric could utilise his destructive magical capabilities in conjunction with his cannon wielding draconic ally.

She then looked to Lynn. "Whilst he handles the main route, you and I could possibly handle any forces that try to slip past the net through other routes? If that's alright I mean..." she said realising that she was giving orders to two people who could probably know better than her how to handle themselves under these situations. She found herself retreating under her habit, her face slowly shrinking behind her robes, as she instinctively tried to make herself as small as possible whilst still keeping pace with them as best she could. Not her fault her legs were shorter than theirs!

Even though she was one of the Guild's Aces, or Paragons as Sabertooth called them, the blonde nun still felt somewhat self-conscious about being the one to give orders to others. Especially in combat situations like this one was going to be. Despite the fights she'd been in during her time as a mage of Sabertooth, her forte lay in supporting others, taking the damage for them so that they could continue to fight on, healing them by taking their wounds upon herself... That was what she did, that was what she had been trained to do in the convent... Not to lead others into battles.

The blonde nun doubted it was a feeling that would ever go away, no matter how much experience or times she undertook a job. Kiersa sighed inside her robes, imagining the lecture she would no doubt be receiving from Capricorn and the other Spirits later on after this job was done... or even during it knowing her luck.

    labor omnia vincit
"Oh, Chelvaric. Yeah, I remember you. You look kind of different now though and I remember your name used to be Pein," she nodded, remembering how he looked back then. Maybe he had a transformation as well. "I don't know how you remember me," laughing, "And yeah, let's get a drink afterwards. I haven't drunk with friends in a while."

Lynn only listened to the conversations that followed between Kiersa and Chelvaric. They were talking about some 'friend' that she wasn't aware of. "So who is this friend you're--"

A dragon has been spotted flying...next to me.., reported Zlatan, a bit confused. A dragon? How could a dragon still exist at this time and age. Zlatan himself was pretty aged now, maybe even older than Lynn, she never really got to find out. She found him a long time ago in Fismuth, when she was only a foreigner there. The first few moons of her being a Prestigious, she was lonely. Only Zlatan (known as Leon back then), helped her through her days in solitude.

Lynn's thoughts went back to the current situation. According to the way Kiersa was talking about this pet, it seemed to be of a pretty destructive caliber. It could even be...the dragon! Lynn's eyes almost widened at the thought. So the dragon belonged to Chelvaric.

"Oh. You have a dragon as a pet?" Lynn laughed, commanding her own pet not to attack the dragon and that it was an ally's pet. "Where'd you even find that thing?" she asked, looking up to see the two beasts flying alongside. She didn't expect Chelvaric to answer her question. Later, Kiersa began to give them orders, as expected of a Paragon. Lynn listened attentively as they walked on, nodding to her. She did have good ideas so Lynn didn't feel like saying anything more or else it would be confusing for everyone. Instead, she said, "I like that plan," and kept her plans as Plan B and C and D.

Even though Lynn had transformed into a whole new person, the skills that she had developed as Tane in Fismuth (and Earthland during her time here) didn't seem to fade away. She could still make use of all the martial arts known to mankind in battle, wield a sword like a professional swordsman. It was all still in her. "Make friends with the dragon," she joked, the message telepathically transmitted so Chel and Kiersa wouldn't hear.

Are you joking with me? This thing doesn't look the least bit friendly. It looks like it wants to eat me. But if it tries, I'm not holding back.

Lynn smiled, her face forward, Chel and Kiersa wouldn't be able to see her do this. "Don't worry, it won't do anything like that."

"Do you know that I have a pet, too? His name is Leon Zlatan. He's flying alongside yours right now," she told Chel so that he could warn his pet.
