The opponent was tough, tougher than Magna had thought. His magic appeared to be crystal based, which made sense, but he appeared to be able to focus light through into powerful attacks. With the raw magical light permeating from the crystals on the door the opponent was only being boosted further. Aegis would of been wiped out by that beam and it had heavily weakened his Frying Pan's durability. With a gesture of his hand Aegis returned to knife form. He wouldn't risk losing his friend. As this gesture was performed he noticed the flow of magic through him and that a thin layer of magic coated his body. A spell of Raiza's that boosted defense or something. That was useful.

Soon he'd be able to use his more powerful combinations effectively to bring this opponent down. However, for now he would have to make do with what he had. The area was small. Enough that he could cover the area in flames if necessary. The big issue though was getting a hit on this guy. HE could easily use crystals to cover his body or create barriers. They needed to hit strong enough and fast enough to stop that. "Well I guess then Grease is the Word." he said forming a large bottle of oil above the target. They just grinned and created a barrier of crystal above them and the oil poured off forming a pool around them. However, the floor was slightly dented from Aegis' impact earlier so it began to pool around the target's feet. He took a step forward preparing to launch another beam of energy when he slipped shooting upwards at the ceiling causing some of it to fall apart and down onto him.

That gave Magna an opening he could use. He quickly flicked one of his weaker fire balls towards the pool of oil. Due to having slipped and dealing with the rubble the opponent was unable to respond effectively and the flame hit the oil igniting it. This caused the man to yell out in agony as he tried to form enough concentration to get the rubble off of him whilst being burned. Eventually he managed to succeed and leaped out of the pool of burning oil towards Magna, his own skin still ablaze slightly from the heat.

However, Magna was prepared and flicked a droplet of oil towards the burning man. As it hit the flames it rapidly expanded stopping him in his tracks and suspending him in the air in a bubble of oil that was rapidly boiling. The effect was enhanced greatly by the flaming body. The intense pain was making it hard for him to concentrate and without using magic there was no way he was escaping through raw strength. It was a cruel technique, but he had no choice. The man was too strong to fight in a nice fashion.

Post by Raiza 11th February 2016, 9:10 pm

Finally, the spell was charged, and none too soon as Raiza had the pleasant seat behind Magna to see some nasty flame work in action, and by nasty, Raiza's eyes lit up watching the cruel and rather painful way to cause a burning pain to his enemy. Originally, Raiza was just going to use purely electricity to destroy crystals and zap the guy, however this added a new chess piece to the board. How about, a water electric combo? Something like this could provide quite the annoying combo, while adding to the grease fire.

We all know...and hate how water only causes grease fires to become much worse, and simply put, this was Raiza's plan. Water along with grease, or at least any form of a liquid like this was also conductive. Why not give the electric chair to the man that was already burning alive. A cruel, but still worthwhile thing to consume his mana on, especially in this case.

"Checkmate ol' chap!", the elements were decided, and as Raiza stood still with both gunblades pointed towards the man, they were both loaded with the elemental power that would soon cause an eruption of pain and misery for what it was worth. Each shot from the gunblade in his left hand held pure water energy into it, a total of twelve magic bullets were fired as each pull of the trigger let out two at once. Each bullet that impacted the suspended man in the air only meant more added pain as the magic rounds would cause a splash of water seperating the oil from the skin before pushing, and spreading it even further around the body, and then causing it to collide back, further engulfing the crystal user as the water would evaporate from the sheer heat of the flames. All the while the magic water rounds still adding blunt damage to the area of impact. Three trigger pulls were shot to the body, while three to the ground where a puddle of oil and fire was, only causing the fire to erupt upwards to cause yet more pain to the man.

Next was the gunblade in the right hand. Housing the power of electricity, and a rather nasty charge, each of the six trigger pulls, also equivalent to another twelve rounds were kindly placed to the dead center of the man's chest so to hit the center of the oil, and where he had also been simultaneously shooting the water rounds, causing the electrical charge to spread it's damage all through the oil that was on the man's body, causing a rather horrifying discharge of electricity that Raiza purposely had not aimed at the head, only to cause more pain, and perhaps a longer lifespan of pain. Thankfully, he was suspended in air, so all the shots were fairly easy to make, and with the large fire ball that it was, Raiza had no idea how one would or could survive such a thing.

Whilst not a unison raid the pair of mages known as Raiza and Magna managed to combine their magical power through a combination attack. Utilising the grease and liquid properties of Magna's attack Raiza managed to further amplify the damage. There was little way any normal person could survive that. Magna stood there for a moment focusing on the magic aura of the man inside the bubble. It was hard with so much magic coursing through it, but he was familiar with most of it so it wasn't impossible. "His magic aura has faded, but isn't completely out." Magna said and with a snap of his finger the oil fell away and the man fell to the ground with a thud, still coated in flames. The damage done to his body was clearly very high, but despite that he managed to struggle to his feet and began to try and form a hand sign to use some kind of spell, but Magna was having none of that.

"Freeze." This was both a command and the name of the spell he used. A ball of liquid nitrogen was launched at the man as the flames seemed to magically extinguish themselves. As the ball hit the hot temperature of his body suddenly being cooled to below freezing causing his bones to become rather brittle and crack under the weight of his own body. Magna did not wait to see if that was enough and performed a home-run style swing using his pan sending the man flying backwards into the door, which was still sealed. His body crumpled and the man fell down. Without waiting for word from Raiza he dashed forward and checked the body over. He was still alive, but was out of it for the time being. "He's out cold." Magna said calmly then smirked at his own accidental joke. "All we have to do is get through that door, get the treasure and get out of here before he wakes. Any ideas on the door?"

Magna looked at it himself after moving the man to the side. It had several coloured gems, probably lacrima, all arranged in various patterns. This was the final obstacle between them and the wizard saint's treasure.

Call it a dry sense of humor, as even Raiza laughed at the statement that Magna made about him being out cold. "Yeah, but I bet when he wakes up he wont be chill about us. You sure you want to leave him alive?" Though not waiting for any answer, Raiza walked up to the door, placing his left hand over each of the gems, slowly grazing them with the slightest bit of pressure. "They do not seem to use any form of push button or lever code. We can assume that since this was made by mages, perhaps a spell could break through it. Though...these gems appear to be lacrima so I'd advise against random spell throwing". After all, who wants one of those gems to just be a reflection lacrima, and bounce back magical spells with a nasty touch to them.

Even looking around it appeared to have very little possible 'levers' so the only option was that these potential lacrima gems were the last defense these ruins had. Even Raiza's Wisp couldn't pass through the door, nor the walls attached to the door. "Protective magic, the entire room is protected against forced entry with even my wisp. What is more, is my pet seems to have lost magical energy even trying. So we can assume the walls have a draining property so forced entry would no doubt really render us weak". With only one option, a door before them with no easily accessed way to open it. This was quite the puzzle to be on Raiza's mind.

One, he knew they could easily assume that all forms of brute entry have been tried, and that was apparent with the highly obvious scorch marks around the door where explosive lacrima were used to try and take it out. The lack of marks on the door meant that his previous idea of reflection was also true. Their enemy was a crystal magic user that used light, so light based magic must not have worked either. Though all Raiza was doing at this point was rending what ideas were not possible to use.

"so far, just watching from the various things they and we have put near the door. explosive or destruction magic seems to be reflected, light magic or crystal magic has obviously been tried by that guy already. Fire, ice, water, and lightning magic between the two of us has been tried with no success. None of the crystals to my knowledge have responded towards any of of the elements either, so it is not an elemental puzzle. So my only thought so far, is perhaps the gems are arranged in a particular pattern for a reason?"

Magna listened to the summary made by Raiza as he considered the thought of leaving the leader of these bandits alive or not. For the time being there was no need to kill him, but if he started stirring then perhaps. For now he decided not to answer the question. He stared at the door lacrima for a moment before walking up to it. "What if rather than a particular type of magic...we just need to use magic itself on the crystals in the right order." he said though the order was not clear. Or was it? They were each coloured a certain way. Seven lacrima and seven colours. He stared at it for a bit longer and a thought came to his mind that was perhaps a bit of a problem. "I think they either have to be triggered from red to violet or its a musical code and you need to do a short tune to open it." This was said because if looked closely the patterns that the lacrima were arranged in almost looked like a bar of sheet music. "Or maybe its both and as you trigger them they play a note."

He decided without waiting to try his first idea and focused magic to his palm and placed it on the red lacrima. Instantly a note rang out and he nodded, but it seemed he'd taken too long as suddenly he was thrown backwards and the note stopped. "And it seems to be time based." he groaned as he rose back to his feet. He wasn't exactly gifted in music though he knew how music could help in a dining situation. "Is there any sign on the door anywhere that would suggest a rhythm like 4/4 or something?" He hoped there was and he also hoped there wasn't. If there wasn't then it likely meant they just had to activate them all quick enough. However, if there was then it meant they had to hit them at the correct pace which would be tricky to do unless Raiza had a bit more musical talent then he did.

Looking at the various possibilities was harder than looking at the ones that were not a possibility, though when it came down to talking about music notes or rythems, Raiza could only chuckle. "What class do you think I am? A bard? sorry, I'm no musical support caster here". Though his mind did wander, it was easy to calculate the number of attempts they could do. Perhaps only one lacrima is used, or perhaps all seven are used. What if they are repeated. It'd help if they knew how to trigger one to see what would happen if two are repeated, or how many are used. If this was a permutation trigger then it meant the order could be much more harder than they'd anticipate. Though it was easy enough to get each of the seven labeled. One to Seven from left to right. Roughly over 5,000 combinations already can be used, and if the mages were smart, it would deny access after 3 failed tries, leaving the two only a slim chance to actually get this to work.

"well lets think, who and what this was built for, and what it contains, maybe that can be a clue. So far we know that this was in legend, the first ten wizard saints..."
almost coming to a complete stop as he walked forward "Though the door... it has seven gems, and there are ten wizard saints. Perhaps its a clue we can use...but how" still stumped on this entire puzzle, Raiza began to look around, and try to mentally draw some form of a map from the entire corridor layout. The other thought was, maybe there were other gems once on this door that the man laying near dead had actually stolen and began to break the gems away, which would be possible...if the door didn't reflect offensive forces.

"Honestly, Magna, I'm quite lost here, its not like we can just ask the door to please open, because we are wizard saints or some crap like that."

Magna paused and grinned at the comment. He knew what bards were. He'd played lacrima games. They tended to be the class he played in games like that mostly because their was no chef class and he liked to play support, even if he could be offensively orientated as had been seen today. "First generation wizard saints, seven gems. The gems seem to correspond to musical notes. Do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti. They are also coloured." he said calmly pacing. "Hitting the red one threw the force back at me, but it did make a note. Its still possible we need to hit them quickly enough." He took a deep breath and then focused magic to his knuckles and rapidly struck them in rainbow order. They all made a tone and glowed for a few moments. He stared at it and then suddenly was blasted back again. "Nope." he groaned rising up. Though he did note that one of them seemed to glow a bit longer.

He walked over and observed the door trying to see any other signs. There had to be some sort of key clue he was missing. Perhaps something that indicated a rhythm or the order or anything. The colours had to be a clue. It was then he noted something that said Y and this was above a G. If that related to the stone then it was 7/4. That gave him a bit of a hint. Perhaps it was just a matter of rhythm then. Unless it was that simple and it was just 7-4. He tilted his head and then punched the third one. It let out a tone and then that tone began to resonate. The others began to light up in random orders and began to play a tune. It was a familiar tune. Though he couldn't place it. Then it struck him. It was a hidden door opening tune from a game.

"Well, I opened the door." he said.

Post by Raiza 29th February 2016, 2:06 pm

Watching Magna work on the puzzle only frustrated Raiza, the answer was so hillariously stupid that... he should of gotten it. Though that was a weakness of Raiza's over analytical mind. He would analyze everything in such detail that the obvious answers he expected to not be an option, easily causing them to fog away and cloud his judgement in certain puzzles.

"Screw puzzle games" his words spoken with a hint of dislike that Magna did the puzzle so fast and well. Though when the door opened, he did indeed remember his digital clock on the H.U.D ability he possessed. Just enough time now, to grab and go, then this place would be going down, or at least the deeper caverns of the mountain side ruins to prevent any further pilfering, or... people to follow them.

Only after gazing in the treasure room however, did Raiza honestly get struck with a painful realization. The cost to make this room alone was expensive, and more so the wealth just laying around irked at him. The legal guilds hoarded so much wealth, while he remembered some went to the streets. So these... ten wizard saints were really just cash cow hoarders. 'That'll change some day'. Thankful that his partner couldn't read his mind as he strolled into the treasure room interested in it's contents. Obviously making sure no traps were to be sprung any further.

"Well we get to keep one for ourselves, no? Thats what the flier said, though... truthfully, should any of these be let out to Era? We should claim our reward in this trove, and call the job complete. We can always bury this, and stop the rich no lifes from recovering such...wealth". Still looking at the center of the room, ten pedestals each containing a statue of a hand, holding an item in some way. While one held a sword, another a ring, another a necklace, The others held various other things, perhaps Magna found something of value or worth.

"Kind of angers me really... how those that were regarded as wizard saints had been allowed to accumulate this much to die with and simply hoard it from the world. What is your opinion?" , slowly closing in on the ring like object, curious as hell to the powers of each of the items, they could only have one, but hey... might as well check them all out first, or if anything, potentially sell what ever he claims, just to buy something more 'suitable' and to his taste.

"I like puzzle games, but this was more of a guess work. Not a lot of hints." he said with a shrug in response though it still interested him that he truly did treat everything as a game. So now it was the 'looting' stage. He wondered if the man considered advancing in ranks as a mage as 'levelling up'. As he stepped into the room his gaze swept over the vast amount of riches in here. It was a larger amount then he was expecting. Even with Aegis there was no way they would get everything out of there. It just wasn't possible without making several trips in which case they'd likely be attacked or robbed or something. Blowing the place seemed ideal to him.

"We'll take the items on the pedestals and a small sample of the rest. What remains we bury." he said with a nod. "It won't stop people getting to it, I doubt we could destroy this room, but it will make it harder." He considered what the man said. The original wizard saints had hoarded a lot of wealth it seemed, but it was possible these ruins were there tombs. That would explain the ten pedestals. As such these might be gifts they were buried with to take to the next life. It was a bit Desierto style. "I'm not sure. It seems they hoarded a lot but perhaps these were gifts to take with them to the next life. I see plenty of stuff like weapons and models of boats and the like. These seem like funerary gifts."

He had no idea what any of the items on the pedestals were, but one caught his eye. A pair of gloves. They appeared to be made of metal, but when he lifted them they felt light as anything. They were a bit too big for him, but he was certain they would work for Aegis. They radiated magic power. He nodded and then began to gather up some of the remaining treasure and the other pedestal items. Aegis was summoned out to carry some. "Right now let's blow this joint." he said meaning it in both a literal and figurative sense.

Deciding to pocket the item he chose, Raiza nodded. "I still feel like destroying these and telling our job giver the damn middle finger. What ever, if this helps then so be it." His darker grin slowly overcame his face, helping pack up the items they'd be carrying, only to think back on the timer they had left. "Less than ten minutes and the timed explosives I have for taking out this room will be done. I Calculated the angle and the degree of explosives to sink this area deeper into the mountain. Should someone even manage to find these ruins, they'll get lost inside from the lack of a correct pathway. The mountain will cave in on itself, and a year or two from now, no one will even know where the entrence wold have been.", only to add more insult to the injury, Raiza tossed all but one of the remaining explosive lacrima he had found into the various gold stashes. Knowing full well it'd destroy/break/or generally cause ruin, decreasing the value of the items significantly. Even going so far to close the door back up before they left too.

Once the team finally did leave the mountain ruins. The last explosive lacrima was tossed inside, destroying the entrance, and thus caving the soon to follow chain explosives to be compressed. Having calculated the entire ruin layout, the explosives would cave in the entire tunnel system, and drop the actual prize room down as well. For any remaining lives that were in the mountain, so be it. Raiza knew this would piss Magna off or at least a high chance to, but no matter, things had to be done. No survivors, no one to come back to kill them later.

"Well, off to turn this is now, I suppose"
