Job Location:Ancient ruins
Job Description: You found a strange kind of door deep in the ruins, only to get bitten by a zombie. You put it down and open the door, thinking nothing of it. Upon entering the room, a magic hologram clicks on. Standing in front of you is a girl. She informs you that you’re infected and only have a while until you become like the others. She then informs you of a cure deep within the the facility. the first thought that comes to mind is what is this place. The girl refuses to answer any further questions and sends you one your way, with one warning though:
“This facility once held over three hundred workers, all of which have become the undead thanks to the virus that was being studied here. That virus courses your blood stream. Please be careful.”
Enemies:
Weak:
Zombie x 10,They seem to have lost all sense of themselves and just wander about until a food source makes itself known… and their food source is you. They will try to bite you and swing at you, with each attack dealing B-rank damage. Thankfully they are quite slow and not hard to avoid. For some reason, they seem to be rotting as if they were dead. each person takes 1 B rank hits to take down.
Normal:
Licker:(Unique can only happen once. if rolled again you get two lickers) You enter a room to see one of the Rune Knight’s shooting at the roof with a gun. He catches sight of you and yells for you to stay where you are. As his attention is away from whatever he is attacking, a long slimy things ropes down from the roof and wraps around the man’s neck. He gurgles as a creature jumps down from the roof and pounce on him. With a flash of blood and a small cry the man dies. The creature does not waste much time with the dead man, quickly turning its attention to you. The beast has a long barbed tongue and foot long claws on both its hands and legs. it can jump ten feet easy and can move very quickly and even up walls. The “licker” takes 3 hits of B rank damage but is quite hard to hit.
Strong:
Greater Zombie x 3: These hulking beasts have red skin and clawed hands, they presue their prey with a vigor the others lack. They can take 4 hits of B rank Damage and deal B rank damage that leaves you bleeding for 2 posts. If you don’t treat the bleeding in a post then another Greater Zombie will show up.
Boss:
Horde of Zombies (40 Zombies): you reach the main research area only find a huge horde of Zombies waiting for you… waiting for their meal. As you try to retreat the doors shut behind you and lock. The girl hologram appears in front of you. “Sorry but I can’t let you leave.” As she speaks the Zeds turn to the sound of her words… the fight is on. Refer to Weak Zombies for damage and health.
When you get half of the zombies down roll a D six and refer to the table below.
1-2 another 10 Zombies show up
3-4 on licker shows up and starts eating Zombies. Be careful for every two he eats his rank goes up by one.
4-5 The wall comes crashing down and the Tyrant steps out, He suppose to be dead… guess not. This thing stands over ten feet tall and its very steps crack the ground. On its right arm are four three-foot long claws capable of cutting stone and steel. It can run over sixty mile per hour so running is not really option; and if it charges, you only have a brief time to get out of the way. The Tyrant can take 10! B-rank hits before falling to its knees you then have to deal another 10! B ranks to it heart to kill it. it will stand back up after one post rotation causing is base HP to reset but not its heart HP. The Zombies will attack it as well as technically it is alive and not dead.
Reward:
Upon defeating all enemies you finally have access to the Virus vault in which you find both the virus and the anti-virus. After figuring out which is which, you take a dose of the anti-virus and move to leave the facility.
B-rank exp and access to Rat Coon (Infection Seris 3 of 5), If Tryant showed up again, you gain a extra B rank of EXP.
Word count method: 5,250 per person
A forced rest came in order after the trials. Partially it was to allow the woman a moment to change, some of Subaru’s extra clothes sacrificed seeing as their temporary partner, Sharp, had suffered some wardrobe issues. At the same time Faeral wanted a moment’s reprieve to drink everything in about this situation.
Zombies.
For all intents and purposes that’s what he’d think of them as, since the things fit the image of horror stories well enough. They lacked the cognitive functions of the living, moving purely on instinct to attack – and perhaps consume seeing as the trio hadn’t allowed them a lot of attempts for a nom – and yet they showed signs of decay. Studying the bodies as the woman changed and they generally rested the man wrinkled his nose in disgust, ’They’ve certainly got the smell and looks of rot…I have to say they’ve probably been dead or at least died…if not working on it. Yet what propelled them to keep moving then? Is it some disease that eats away at the body and reverts the brain to primal and basic functions before death? Yet these other things…’
Narrowed, shrewd eyes moved from the simplistic corpses to the ones Sharp and Morphine felled earlier. Gold slid then to the one who’d incurred his wrath, the thing’s chest gutted as tissue twisted every which direction from the epicenter like twisted rope. Any remains of a heart lay as a mere pile of mush inside, only the sheer girth of the wretched creature preventing it from dispersing against the ground. ’Yet what created these things, I wonder? Whatever they are it hardly looks natural, warped really…’ he gained the oddest sense of “human” from the one he’d decimated with the help of his questionable allies, the unearthly beings long gone once his temper had quelled.
’It could be some odd protection magic I suppose…’ Doing what any professional would do, Faeral lightly kicked one of the scaled beasts, its body jiggling a little at the motion, but ultimately offering no sudden liveliness, ’but they’re not really giving off a…”magic” vibe either. If this were the cause of such, then they’d be wreaking of magical energy. I sense nothing but a sheer sense of “death” in multiple respects. They boasted power, but seemed to rely purely on that. At best tall, dark, and ugly might’ve held some regenerative capabilities however…’
His thoughts returned to the battle, recalling details through the haze of, ”Kill it a LOT,” and remembered feeling elated that even as skin tried to cover the organ back up it meant little when his weapon wasn’t fazed by mere flesh. That hadn’t stopped him from enjoying the way meat flew when one of his allies started digging deep into its chest though.
Turning back to the mysterious woman who called herself “Sharp” he nonchalantly called out, ”Don’t suppose you’re ready? And how’s that arm, if we’re going deeper it’d be bes-“ Any further words were cut off as something bit down on his arm, teeth puncturing through the jacket and into flesh. The offending ex-human didn’t have long, its head sent flying soon enough thanks to the woman who’d been a wyvern just a short while ago. Subaru had not been fast enough however to prevent the bite, the servant gritting her teeth as she saw the spots of blood discoloring his blue jacket.
”Well isn’t that just dandy,” he snarled, glaring at the slowly growing stain, ”Heavens knows what kind of bacteria I just contracted. Someone’s head will roll for this.”
