Guild Friends/Honorary Members

This is sort of a thing I've already noticed happening, and I feel would be easily added by individual GMs, but something cool for them to add to their rosters could be "Guild Friends or Honorary Members". Basically a list of characters who are friendly/allied with a guild, but not actually in it for various reasons IC or OOC. GMs could allow them to participate in guild events, freely enter the guildhall, etc.

I know stuff like this is already a thing (though it's not officially listed anywhere). For instance, Decayuss is an ally to Sabertooth, and I know of someone who is going to be make a guildless mage who is an ally to SM, but not join it for IC reasons. Allies wouldn't really have anything particularly special, no access to guild spells, pets, or guild bonus when doing jobs with members of their ally guild. This honestly wouldn't even have to be an actual official mechanic of the site. I just noticed how some people allied themselves with certain guilds without joining and thought it would be cool for those guilds/GMs to recognize them somewhere by slapping it onto the guild info or into another section of the guild roster for an extra bit of flavor.

I think it should be mentioned in the guild rosters or positions, that would be an appropriate place for it. Or next to guild on their profile like say Guildless (ST ally) or (Sabertooth Ally)

In addition maybe te guild rosters could be updated to show who's aligned with them and who's an honorary list. Even so, I second this idea fully too ^.^

Yup, and not all guilds would have to have any lists of either honorary members or allies. This is mostly just an idea for GMs to consider for their own guild. It can be allies, honorary members, anything really, hell, they could even include foes if they wish.

The only thing I would note here is that if you aren't in that guild (coloured) then you can't post in their guild areas (or at least you shouldn't be able to).

There is a way round this that I can think of, but it would mean literally adding you to the 'allied' group, but keeping your colour green (which is totally possible). However, then this would only work for guidless mages.

Hmmm...still....not a bad idea. However, it doesn't seem necessary to be an official mechanic. Also reminds me I probably need to update the BP roster.

Well I know BR can have non-members post in their guild areas, not sure how, but you can since it's in its own separate city that only exists in the guild section (I've posted there before having Almy visit the city). And again, even if it's not an official mechanic, I just thought it could be a neat thing for GMs to be able to do. Why would adding people to the allied group only work for guildless mages?
