So, I ran into a road-block and realized that the current magic template could use a bit of improvement...
Spell Template
While this is fine and dandy, I believe a face-lift to this would work better...
Primary Magic Name: (Name of the Primary Magic)
Magic Derivative?: (Is this magic derived from a slayer position or a golden key? If so, which one?)
Caster or Holder Magic: (What type of magic is it)
Magic's Focus: (Is your magic primarily focused around attacking, buffing, debuffing, support, healing, etc. Explain what your magic's main focus is. While you CAN deviate from your magic's focus, this will give us a general idea on what to expect.)
General Description: (How would your character use this magic? Explain in detail what your magic does in general. )
Unique Abilities: (List the abilities it provides, make sure to separate each ability! Abilities are like passive traits, or a hidden power that can be activated for a very limited amount of time. These abilities are Unique to your characters specific use of the magic! As a starting D rank character, you are able to have 3 unique abilities, refer to the magic rules for abilities higher than D rank.)
Magic's Weakness:
-- Spells --
Spell Name:
Spell Description: What does your spell look like upon casting it.
Spell Rank: What is the rank of the spell.
Spell Type: (Fire, Water, etc. Offensive, Defensive, Supportive.)
Spell Duration: (Duration lasts for number of posts.)
Spell Cooldown: ( How long does it take for the spell to be usable again? Usually one post extra than your duration.)
Spell's Effect: Place in what the spell does, whether it buffs or damages 1 person or a group of people. Explain all effects in the spell in-detail. All effects of the spell will be referred to here.
Spell's Strengths
Spell's Weakness:
------
While it might look very similar to what we currently got, separating the spell's description from the spell's effect makes things easier to look at so one could quickly refer to the spell's effect to see exactly what it does without having to sift through what the spell simply looks like.
Also forcibly placed bullet points so people have to use bullet points to address strengths and weaknesses.
Split a few categories up top to make things a bit more easier to understand as well as give people a head's up with the kind of magic people use and the magic's main focus (what to expect also, when grading).
While it's a few more entries, I believe this will make grading a bit easier and possibly even make spell creation make a bit more sense.
I would have gone with html.. but that might overwhelm some people.. but if enough people want it, I could make a table for all this.
