The group finally stopped whining after they realized that they were not going to get any attention. Maybe they also realized that they were nagging to the ones that would help them get out of the desert alive. They certainly had no chance of getting out, they were probably walking in circles. The group of men were so close to the town and yet they were walking away from it. Elyx couldn’t help but grin as he was thinking of some derp music as the group were walking around in circles. Ignite tilted her head in curiousity, wondering what was entertaining the boy so much. But she did not let out so much as a peep, happiness was normally a good thing after all.
What about the men? How were they holding up? Elyx looked over his shoulder to see that absolutely no one was lying on the ground nor was anyone missing. Sadly, however, they lost a bit of cargo to lose a weight on their backs. He couldn’t blame them for doing so, they were tired after all. Hopefully there was nothing that any of them were going to miss, because the boy had no intention on turning back to receive items. On purpose, he would charge a high price if he had to do that, he was tired as well. Ignite could slap him around for all he cared, he would not even think about changing his mind.
As for the client, they would be able to identify him by meeting him at the end of the town, the only one with a desert. The reason why he would be the only one there was a mystery that Elyx could not figure out, but it was what it was. On the job request, there was no description of the man or his crew in any sort of way, now Elyx had hoped that he got lucky and got the right crew, or this job would have been done for no reason at all. He placed his Violin by his side, making him feel relaxed and happy again. When there is nothing else in the world to feel, feel happy. Especially when one is alone.
Finally, the lot of the group ran forward happily, all of his men following as well. What did they see that he did not? Elyx and Ignite looked back, but they were unable to sense anything in that direction. That was unfortunate, they might have to fight another monster. Wait, no, they would have sensed one way before the men if they found one They looked back to the group to see that they were surrounding a man. Before they knew it, they were at the edge of the city. Success.
