A Witch Meets Her Worst Counterpart (Mei and Almyra)

Mei Lin giggled at the festival happening. She came to the rose garden to blow away a few stresses and got caught up in the festivities around her. The witch walked into a jewelry store pulling her pouch out of her bra. She wanted to buy the least expensive gem, but wanted it to sparkle like it was expensive. She wanted some gifts to give her new Master as well. The woman saw the perfect necklace bedazzle in rubies. After her purchase, Mei smiled brightly and walked out f the store. She was determined to get to something to drink as all this shopping was making her parched. For a moment, she wrestled with her money pouch while giving the man his money and taking her drink. Spinning on her heel, she prepared to leave and bumped into a woman behind her spilling drink all over her new clothes. "Look what you've done! Are you stupid or something?" She yelled at the person throwing her now empty cup on the ground in rage.

Almyra had arrived in the Rose Garden recently. She had been here a few times before, but she was still always enthralled a bit by the beauty of the city. She walked about, watching the various people go about their business. She was tempted to observe using her magic, though she probably wouldn't see much, as she hadn't had a whole lot of rest the previous night, and was fairly sleepy. Trying to use Amor Fati when unable to concentrate properly had... unpleasant repercussions. She yawned and her eyes drooped drowsily for a moment until she felt someone bump into her, her eyes shot open again as the poor woman who ran into her spilled her drink all over herself. Almy frowned and looked at the ground like a scolded child. "Sorry. I guess I should be more careful when I'm walking around like that. I haven't had much sleep." She looked up at Mei. "Would you like me to buy you a new drink?" She didn't notice Mei's soaking clothes so much, besides, they could dry or be washed and would be fine.

Mei Lin crossed her arms and frowned. The shorter woman should have been more apologetic to her, but she'll take what she gets. The witch froze for a moment and started searching through her bags hoping none of the drink had gotten on her other things. Thankfully everything else was dry and safe. She turned her attention back to the woman replying to her question after some time. "No. I don't want another drink. Though, I wouldn't mind if you paid for my outfit. She said flippantly before sighing deeply. "You know what never mind. It was my stupid fault for spending money on anything other than destruction."

Almyra blinked and looked over Mei Lin again. "Why would you need a new outfit? That one can be washed. It wouldn't be that strange if there were someone who could do so with magic. I could pay for that, since I don't have the money to pay for the outfit." She said. Why one would need to replace their entire outfit because of a spilled drink was beyond her. "Spending money on destruction? Destruction of what?" She asked, ever curious.

"Destruction of the world of course. Only Lucifer is allowed to walk these plains. Simple humans like us would never understand his power, but I will work until he is brought back here." She said laughing maniacally getting strange stares from the people around her. Mei smirked at the woman before her. "I can show you the ways of a Satanist little girl. I was in a cult for a short time so I know some rituals. You help me after making me spill drink all over myself right?"

"You follow a strange religion. I have yet to find any factual evidence of this Lucifer's existence in the records of the followers of Eris." Almyra said. She pulled her book out of her satchel and began flipping through the pages. Each page flip of the page produced various texts on demons and other creatures from Sin. "Most hypothesis suggest that Lucifer, if he did or does exist, is simply a demon from Sin, possibly a powerful one, but there is no evidence of the demons ever ruling over the world." Almyra tilted her head quizzically at Mei. "A cult? Which cult? There are many cults for many different things. I am the current knowledge holder of a cult. I too know of rituals." She said, flipping through her book, whose pages were now showing various instructions for rituals, most of them involving Chaos Theory, but some involving summoning, binding, and various other rituals whose knowledge was collected by Almyra's own cult. She closed it and placed it back in her satchel. "What is it you require help with?"

Mei Lin tilted her head and giggled. The witch looked at the book in interest before clapping. "Of course it wouldn't be in the silly book of yours, girl. My Lucifer is too powerful to be caught in action by humans. He's too sneaky and sly. It's only a blessing that we've been given these gifts of insight about him. Only the chosen one's like me can see him. What's your name by the way? I need to know, just in case I have to get away. I want to be able to track you down." The witch spun on her heel and walked away from the other waving her hand as for the other girl to follow. She didn't much attention if the girl was following or not.

Almyra shrugged and decided to follow Mei. This girl was strange. "I see. Have you seen Lucifer?" She asked, doubting the girl. If something truly affected the world in some way, it would likely have been detected, though there still was a possibility of this Lucifer escaping detection, it was slim. She wouldn't be surprised if Lucifer was just a demon, or simply one of various gods that went by another name. There were many possible explanations really, many things existed that had vast amounts of power. "If only Lucifer is allowed to live here, then why are we here? It would seem as though he is incapable of keeping intruders out of his realm." She said, mostly to herself. "I am Almyra. What's your name? And why do you believe this Lucifer is worthy of worship?"

Mei Lin started to get nervous with all the questions being thrown her way. "N..... No. I'm sure my vision is just a little late is all. I'm positive he'll send me one to see his return to us mortals, until then I'm tied to my Master." She said not making eye contact with the other female. The witch was feeling incompetent, because her cult was killed before her vision came to her. Mei Lin chuckled at the next question and stopped in the middle of their walk. "My name is....... I am...... The witch Mei Lin! I have come to spread chaos among the world! Hahahahaha! Ngh!" The young woman fell to the ground slipping on nothing as she laughed. Huffing, Mei blew her bang out of her face. "And Lucifer is worthy because he is a god of destruction and pain and suffering. That's what I live for. Well I live for that and cute umbrellas...."

Almyra listened patiently to Mei. She seemed to be quite confident in herself. At least she was having fun. She blinked as the woman slipped and fell, then helped her up. "The world is already in chaos. For it to be in order would be quite unnatural." She tilted her head. "Why are pain and suffering worthy of worship? They are common occurrences, simply part of a greater whole."

Mei Lin accepted the hand begrudgingly and dusted herself off. "They are worthy of worship, because just like chaos, pain and suffering have a place in the world. Without pain and suffering, there is no proper chaos. Chaos causes destruction and wherever destruction is the other two are not far behind. To have this world in balance, there has to be peace in some and chaos in other. You can't find peace without seeking love and happiness. Same goes for chaos. That's my theory anyway. It sounds stupid... Well that's what my former cultist told me. But seeing as they're dead now and I'm still here kinda proves I'm right, huh?" She said getting quieter towards the end of her rant. A shadow of sadness passed her features for a split second then she wore a crazed grin like nothing happened.

"Chaos does not lead only to destruction. It can lead to creation, love, and joy as well. It is the force that helps to bring about both happiness and sadness." Almyra smiled at Mei Lin. "Your ideas are similar to my own. While grief and destruction are parts of life that most do not enjoy, they are necessary. To have suffering without joy, or joy without suffering is unnatural. The balance itself is chaotic though, at times it is rare, and unnatural for both to be equal at all times. I like it better when there's a bit more happiness in the world."

Mei Lin shook her head in fond exasperation then sighed. "So you're telling me that you want to spread happiness and peace across these plains while I want to spread chaos? This is a paradox for sure, but that still doesn't mean I will let you. Almyra, I now deem you my campanion whether you like it or not. I think it'll be fun if you try to stop me from ruining people's lives. But since I am a merciful person, I shall forgive you for future occurrences." She said smiling at little. Now that the young witch had latched onto another person, it would be a good chance to get the word of her God out either negatively or positively.

"Happiness is its own form of chaos. I will spread it when I think I need to." She smiled. "Most of the time I just do things. I don't try to make people happy or sad. Not everything will make everyone happy, and not everything will make them sad either. I simply enact change." Almyra blinked when Mei said they were now companions, but didn't object. That was a bit surprising, but she wouldn't mind, and perhaps could teach Mei to learn kindness.
