Easiest job for an Angel.

Katherine was smiling at this job, it involved a call to save a kitten that was trapped up in a tree, it was an easy job for Katherine for she had wings that she could use. This would be easiest jewels that she could ever get! And also there was a personal passion for kittens that Katherine loved! So the angel took the paper with the location and attempted to get to the location of the missing cat. This was not going to be too far away, but the winding path of the mountains made it easy to get lost and with the snowfall due to the cold winter the roads she normally was accostumed to was no longer was available and any attempt to fly would show only a row of snow covered Pine trees that covered the landscape. This was personally preferable as she wanted to take a long walk anyways to clear her mind.

Katherine reminiscend about the times spent together with Kyll as young children. A time when Katherine was little more than an emotionless soul with a mortal shell. There was no emotion in the girl, just ruthless calculating mind meant for one purpose: Kill the Target. In this case Katherine's intended target was to assassinate Kyll early so she could not spread chaos to the world. It was on one of these cold days that it happened...

It was on the day she arrived on Earth to meet a young Orphan that ran away from her stepparents, saddened by the loss of her parents to an assassination plot and have her entire life turned upside down by the wheel of fate. It was also why Katherine choe the child, sadness made things easier when it came to granting miracles to mortals. And there was no trickery given unlike demons, she told her exactly what would happen. That her soul would leave her body and would be reunited with her parents again in heaven to enjoy her eternal reward early. She would no longer know any fear, sadness or anger again. She also told her that she needed a mortal body as well and she would use it. Was it considered murder? In human terms it would be tantamount to assisted suicide, but otherwise to an Angel standard it was rewarding the inevitable reward early and with a guarantee that they would be reunited again. If one were to put it that way... Was it so bad?

'Monster Dice' :

Katherine remembered the day when she met Kyll, rock at hand to bash her skull in and do the Gods work without question. She was a threat that needed to be preempted before she could harm the world, but all she got was a smile and offer to be a friend. Conversation for most part was one sided as Katherine did not talk much, but waited for an opportunity to kill her. Perform her job as a Dark Angel, but was stopped when she was given a cookie. It was a blackened, burnt and awful cookie that she ever ate. However it was the action of giving a gift to an angel that touched Katherine. She did not know it at the time, but Kyll reversed the roles of Angels and humans at that moment. It was touching an that was the first tie Katherine smiled in a Century. That was the immediate moment that the human and Angel became friends. She also in essence started her surveillance on Kyll that day...

Katherines mind returned to the present as she heard the sound of dogs tthat sorrounded a tree in a maelstrom of barks and yipes. Dogs starved by their homlessness and lean days of winter. They were suffering from starvation and thus would be ravenous to see the morsel of a tiny kitten. Katherine could not let them live, they were a danger to humans that could pass by and get eaten by them. No, she needed to end their suffering...

Pulling out Maelstromic Retribution she approached the dogs and stepped towards them in a flash of colors that would blind onlookers if looked at directly and sliced the hea off the first dog. It painted the white snow in blood red, causing the other dogs to growl at Kat and leapt at her one by one. Katherines Angelic reflexes cut down the animals one by one. Death being a mercy compared to the slow death that they faced. It was quick and not drawn out after all... It did not mean she enjoyed it though. When it was over, there was only Katherine standing among a pile of dog corpses that the crows could feed on later.

Katherine outstreatched her black wings and flapped lifting her body off the ground as she flew up into the air in an attempt. Her light angelic form flew to the skies as she approached the scared sad little kitten that shivered in cold. Maybe it was shaking in fear as well, but Katherine regardless placed the cat between her arms and it stopped. The cat knew it was safe now, instinct told the animal could trust the angel. She landed to the ground and walked to the house where the owner lived. It was a warm happy feeling helping those in needs, but jewels were needed for a good cause. It was still the season of giving for the holidays after all...

Although joy was the biggest gift of all.

Katherine wondered what she would do when she got home? Would she take a nice warm bath with a box of chocolates while reading her favorite novel? It sounded like a very splendid idea in Katherines head as she stepped out of the ladies house and walked out in the cold outside, there was little that could make Katherine cold. In fact she had nothing that even resembled winter clothing as she stepped out into the snowstorm. The only thing she felt was the resistance in the wind that she canceled with magic. Still her boots sank in the snow as she trudged home. Little by little she would return home with no sense of exhaustion except the mental kind. It was pleasant to walk inside, have some tea and a bowl of Kyll excellent stew. Followed by going to her room for a nice hot bath with a glass of wine and a book in her hands. She would then relax all night before having a pleasant nights rest. Everything would be fine in the morning and could start shopping for her families presents.
