The road he first traveled was not a familiar one. At best, Terith started his journeys with but one objective in mind -to extract information on a method of returning to his original world after invoking the wrath of a Priestess who spirited him away to Earthland. Her face was a figure he'd come to etch in his memory as his driving force. Daunting as it was, the task at hand proved itself closer when he, though hesitantly on the other party's part, became a student under the hermit Shizuo, an austere figure whose sword was sharp regardless of his way of living. There he'd learn the basics of wielding his weapon, of the right stances and the element of strategy, even fiddling with the process of exerting his 'ethernano' to perform feats such as weave the energies within his blade, inevitably channeling his magic as it is currently -much to their surprise.
When the inevitable time came where the hermit could no longer provide methods for him to further enhance his skills, Terith decidedly became a vagabond whose minor goals started to burrow deeper into something more as he began to unravel the world around him, where even death was closer than the answer he sought.
His first taste of near-death happened at the foot of a snowy mountain, where he failed to find shelter and was forced to navigate the roads in hopes of finding respite from the cold. His fallen form was thankfully picked up by the son of old man Bartre, who's back pains compelled Terith to eventually lend his aid to finish a cottage that served as his gift to his newly betrothed daughter. It was later revealed that Bartre specifically asked Terith to not use magic simply because he wished to make it look like it was him who finished the house, and that the old man feared the possibility of being abandoned due to his old age. Though he was forced to use little to no magic at all, it's as if there was another kind of
miracle in the works when the two shared a conversation on familial love that transcended age, and it was a lesson that the old man was ever grateful for.
With the money that he funded unintentionally from fixing Bartre's problems, the young blonde eventually rode himself into a neighboring village after he received a letter addressed to someone else entirely, but the strange mailman simply insisted that it was him that the boy couldn't help but succumb to such. After braving the forest that was littered in zombie-like creatures (and a ghost that was unwise to fight with a sword), Terith would then realize that
the mistake lead him to a wholesome reward -the happiness of the sender, a girl named Wys, for having saved her life both mentally and physically, refusing to give up on her despite how badly the zombie virus had come to spread across her arms. Although it was obvious that he had not been this "Marion" she was seeking, she found a better hope in a boy who somehow rekindled her belief in determination.
Later, after his jewel amount became scarce and he had failed to find a cheap inn, he ventured into a village with a request concerning overgrown plants that were coated in a malevolent aura. Here he'd meet a local farmer of the name Rick, who carefully eased him better into the situation, offering him a ride in the process as he explained the weight of the problem that would come to affect the upcoming harvest. Fueled solely by his hunger, Terith forged his path through the vegetable gardens with his sword melting through their bodies like a hot knife to butter. It was well into the afternoon when he managed to dine with the farmer's family as they prepared a meal with the "crops" he came to gather from the
salad tossing he fought through earlier, and when morning came rolling around, not only was the family satisfied with his deeds, but the mere thought of their harvest moving on brought a peaceful stillness over the village, even as the farmer and the boy rode far into the forests to, presumably, reach Talonia.
At this point, he'd formally come to settle into the central part of Fiore. But the fights were yet to quell as he stumbled upon a request when he ventured into Rose Garden, one that drove him to buy a suit, and also had him meet with a woman who found the same interest in such a job, the two (three, actually, although the other person came and helped them unknowingly) became great allies as they halted the advance of a salty ex-boyfriend who was strangely
determined to
crash a happy wedding between Mr. and soon to be Mrs. Goldstar. Reisha and Terith were both greatly injured in the ploy, along with the parallel destruction of the streets that lined the entrance to the church, and the timely defeat of Mrs. Goldstar's ex, who personally requested for Terith to take his life. None of them were prompted to end the Ex-boyfriend's life that night, and hence, the job was settled with Terith simply making do with putting him into a semi-unconscious state, aiming at his pressure points, if not all but lecturing the foolish man about the regrets that came with a premature death beforehand.
It was in that situation that a few more secrets were revealed to him concerning his newfound abilities, and with slightly vague answers from the spirit Souji, Terith would decide for himself to continue on his journeys with a better objective in mind: to polish his skills and understand the pretense of his magic, perhaps to find a reason why the Priestess whisked him away, and gain a better grasp of the
"potential" that the spirits keep yapping about.
This new dawn would later start on a funny note as he finds a job involving a dispute between pirates, stemming from a "treasure" that supposedly caused the "Divide" in Divide Island. There he'd meet three people, each adapting a different purpose, but all seemingly drawn to the job that involved treasure, albeit he was only mildly interested in the reward, and was more keen on finding himself an entertaining adventure and a challenge to test his strength. Joining forces with Leila, Mura, and Hana deemed extremely potent against the adjacent pirate brutes, the four completely eradicating their targets including their captain. When the treasure was dug up, however, it initially seemed that their efforts were in vain after they claimed a
bikini from within an ornate box. Fortunately, the jewel reward was later buried a bit to the side. Shocked as he was to find out people consider a piece of cloth as a treasure, he later claimed a bit of the treasure as a keepsake, admittedly worrying about the mess they made of the beach.
Later, he'd come to reunite with the girl named Leila for a second time in an attempt to stop the distasteful women slavery business that was working in secrecy among the other trades, to
liberate the unfortunate women who deserved better. The ideal irked him greatly, especially since the master of the operation was a female herself, and it was ironic to think about. The two proved themselves to be a great adversary against the pirate thugs, knocking them down and promptly interrogating them of the whereabouts of their base. They'd follow the trail under the disguise of slaver and prisoner, only it was apparently caught on by their captain who exposed them almost as soon as she laid eyes on them. Swiftly, they'd both individually deal with enemies that matched their skills, Leila with the captain, and Terith with Mr. Carver, a cutlass bearing man who was a fair match for Terith's level of skill. The issue was dealt with and many women were given their due freedom, but in essence, the boy also succumbed to an unknown power that prompted his bakaneko to find the goddess familiars, individuals who could possibly help him achieve the answers he's been looking for (which starts his secondary magic training).
There have been many men like him who seek power, but Terith doesn't necessarily favor strength for pure domination alone. He simply wishes to understand what he's capable of, solve the riddles that keep piling on top of each other, and ultimately unhinge all the secrets surrounding his "origin". And maybe, just maybe, when he has enough to go by, he'd forge himself a path back home, knowingly acknowledging his trip to Earthland as a spiritual quest to be his own hero when the time calls for it.
