The Sunny Tower of No Return [Mission]

Karina didn't realize what the sun mages were doing until it was too late, she had no time to prepare herself or take cover. Therefore it was up to Katherine to save her. If Katherine had acted a second later Karina would surely be dead by now, however just before the attack stuck Katherine pulled Karina into her strong arms and held her tight, taking all the damage. The demon girl was too shocked to do anything, she stood like a statue in the angels arms silent tears streaming down her face as she watched her friend go through severe pain.
As the fire ended Karina regained movement in her body and flung her arms around Katherine, "Are you okay? Are you hurt? Can you still stand?" frantic questions spilled out of Karina's mouth as she examined Katherine's body, checking for any injuries. She appeared to be severely burned. However Katherine still managed to smile, probably an attempt to comfort Karina "I don't care for the blood in your veins. You are a sweet girl so even if our entities are complete opposite, I am willing to look over it. So how about we beat some sense into them and take the poor deluded girl home.~"
A single tear rolled down Karina's cheeks as she listened to Katherine, that was the sweetest thing anyone had said to her in a long time. She nodded then turned to face the sun mages, trembling with hatred and anger, they had hurt her Katherine! She glared at them with pure black eyes, deciding how they should be punished. Once her mind was made up she took a deep breath of air, filling her lungs with the surrounding darkness, which created a black hole in her mouth. She then released the shadows with a howl and watched as they shot at the sun mages like a beam. The beam shocked the mages and caused them to scatter, about half of them had been hit.
Deciding she would let Katherine have some fun with the mages as well, instead of attacking again she quickly snatched hold of the girl-who-they-were-to-be-taking-home's arm and dragged her out of the way of the next attack. "Your turn," She grinned at Katherine happily.

The second mage was on top of Arianna in a second, bearing down on her with glowing fists. All the half breed could manage was a quick roll to the side as she dodged again, completely unable to go offensive as she had the first mage following up the attack. "Shit!" Was all that could be heard from Arianna as she swung with Shadow runner, deflecting his blow so that they would pass by each other, but caused the blade to snap. Whirling around, Arianna brought howling demon down onto the back of the mage that had tried to hit her, knocking him down to the ground with a large cut on his back.

Keeping up her new found momentum, Arianna summoned Thunder God's Roar, and swung the blade straight at the ground as the other mage came at her, activating its spell and blowing both of the mages away from her with a powerful sonic-boom. As much as Arianna wanted to take a breather, she had to keep it up. Giving up her Howling demon, she summoned Blood Demon's Thirst in its damage mode and charged straight at the two while they recovered.

Now Arianna was the one with the upper hand as she began her fury of swipes and slashes. She slashed left and right at the dazed mages, using the added strength of both of her blades to quickly hack and slash them to shreds. With the last slash, she cut cleanly then the neck of both mages, causing their heads to roll around on the ground.

Arianna fell down to one knee as she felt light headed from the use of Blood Demon, dispelling at to stop its drain on her life. After a minute or two, she was able to shake it off and started running into the tower, demon tail still dangling between her legs.

(Alright this is gonna be messy cause I was kind of put at the top of the tower before I rped up there... here we go)

Finally reaching the top, the flight of stairs had taken its toll on the already weakened girl. The sword had already sucked out a good amount of blood from her and only made her light headed again from the huge climb. She was normally pretty fit, but not being able to move oxygen through her body was rough. She had her hands on her knees while looking over at the figure of the woman from earlier. She could also see that she was primed and ready to kill what looked to be the girl she needed to recover, surrounded by several mages.

"H-Hey! Don't you dare do what I think you're planning!" While Arianna had originally taken up this job to try to find out more about herself, she definitely could use the money, and killing the target was out of the question. Arianna still wasn't able to catch her breath before a new girl had arrived on the scene. "The hell?" Arianna was confused at the sudden appearance, especially as she ran out to the floor after drinking what looked like some kind of milk and grabbed the woman's arm.

Just as Arianna started to stand up, the mages unlessed a wave of fire on the two girls out on the floor, causing Arianna to shield her eyes from the brightness. Luckily, Arianna was far enough back to avoid any stray flames, and as she opened her eyes again, she was surprised to see that they were completely fine, other than the smell of burnt meat.

Putting the smell aside, Arianna made an attempt to take action, seeing as this was her mission, but her legs suddenly felt weak as she dropped down to one knee, unable to react to get into the fight.

Katherine was burnt, hurt and in a lot of pain. Layers of skin was burnt off as she hugged the little demon in her arms and felt it. The darkness of the demon was strong and it was sucking Katherine in. It smelled of taint, sweet taint of demons that compelled her to sin. She wanted to live and spread chaos, death and destruction. They were calling to her, singing to her and yet there was another side of her that seemed to fulfill her hunger needs. In fact the hug cured her need to regenerate her holy energies was amazing. It was almost like a drug, she wanted more. It was just so strange, it normally felt like the other way around. Katherine panted ever so slightly from both the pain and the painkiller that the hug turned out to be. She wanted to...

Katherine nearly had to slap herself awake as she channeled the forces of her energies and simply pushed everyone out the window with artic winds. Even Karina and the person they were supposed to bring back alive. Most of them would plummet to their doom, but Katherine smiled and said to Arianna before leaving, "Oh and if I ever catch you doing any illegal work Half-Breed, there won't be any mercy. It is going to be my only warning." She then jumped out the window and dived to catch Karina with the girl at tow. She would fly for 2 miles away, before settling down at the edge of a mountain. She sat down to rest, her back still burned heavily as she panted. She then laughed at the humor of this situation, "A demon and an angel just worked together. It was actually very nice." Katherine looked at the fainted girl that tried to kill them, yet they had to bring her back. Katherine shrugged for a second as she set Karina on her lap. Her human heart started beating heavily in her heart as she wrapped an arm around Karina into a nice snuggle.

"A demon and an angel just worked together. It was actually very nice." Said Katherine before setting Karina down on her knee and wrapping her arms around her. Karina smiled as she sensed Katherine's heart beating behind her back, it was beating quicker than normal. Karina lay back in her companions arms, she felt safe, a feeling she never really experienced before. She shifted her position so that she was now facing Katherine but still wrapped in her arms, her legs either side of Katherine's body. Her body ached slightly from the fight however her wounds were nothing in comparison to Katherine's, she had simply earned hers because she hadn't worked out in a while.
"You're right. It was very nice. I hope we can do this again," Karina smiled softly, thinking of how Katherine looked earlier when she gave her a hug. It was cute to see a woman so strong lose control, even if it was for a split second only. It seems that Karina's demonic nature affected the woman just as much as her angelic nature affected Karina. Her heart began to thump against her chest and her breath became ragged, her whole body trembled slightly, urging her to close the distance between heaven and hell. It was a temptation she had to resist with all her might. She shook her head rather violently to help her gain control. She turned her head away for a brief moment then returned to her previous position. Karina knew that by now her eyes would've turned into dark empty pits of fire, a sight most found scary.
"So what do we do now?" She looked over at the young girl they had brought with them, trying to divert her attention to something other than Katherine. Karina didn't know much about the job however it was evident that this girl played a key part in it. She leant forward and snuggled against Katherine's chest as she waited for her orders, not being able to resist. As she waited she thought of the sun mages she had attacked earlier and had to admit she felt bad, she always regretted hurting people so much in battle however it was something she did a lot. She just cant help herself.

Katherine sighed comfortably, it just felt right. There was something inexplicable about the 2 of them, something that drew the 2 together. It was as if the 2 halves of Holy and Unholy called out for each other. It felt silly really, but the sensation was there. Katherine's heart raced faster as Karina turned around to face Katherine. She was being affected by the same way, was it because it completed a piece of what Karina lacked. Katherine had to resist every urge to hug her, cuddle and squeeze her. Eventually the 2 heartbeats began to beat at the same time in unity as the song of their souls attempted to do a duet. Katherine was losing control and was moving closer to Karina, breath getting ragged and cheeks blushed red. What was this feeling? She was slowly getting closer, body moving on her own as the thought of tasting her sweet lips flooded her mind. Her mind was trying to stop it, but body was moving on her own.

It was then interrupted by the reminder that they were on a job and caused Katherine to avert her eyes last second as she was breathing heavily as the girl stirred in her unconscious status. Katherine sighed, "Well Gods orders and guild orders decided to conflict with me. So honestly I don't know. Part of me wants to kill her for misleading people for her benefits and attempting to hurt you. However I was also told that my primary objective at all times was to keep an eye on a certain Eclipse Soul member and thus... I am going to say that takes priority and dump the girl at her house with everything that the girl did. House arrest with parents is an embarrassing thing one can do." Katherine then gently stood, despite her bodies complaints to do so. Katherine when hunched the girl over her shoulder and turned around to get ready. She then slowly noticed the fire in her eyes and simply smiled as she whispered in her ear, "You have pretty eyes you know that?" She smiled politely before walking with her to dump this girl off.

Arianna struggled up to her feet, summoning Howling Demon to use as a crutch almost as she slowly attempted to move towards the fighting, her fighting spirit refusing to let her stay out of her job. She would never make it in time as the unknown woman seemed to recover from the blast of fire and proceed to summon a sudden wind, forcing the half breed to quickly summon Thunder God, using the boost in power to jam the sword into the floor, giving her a base to keep her feet as everyone else, including what looked like her friend and the client's daughter, were blown out of the tower.

As the wind petered out, Arianna could only look at with awe at the woman's power. She had been just tolerating Arianna's presence basically. She could have just knocked her a mile away the moment they meet. But it wouldn't have stopped the grunt from the nephilim when she gave her a warning to not do anything illegal as she slowly raised back up onto her feet. Arianna struggled over to the ledge as she jumped off, wings spreading as Arianna looked over to see her grabbing her friend and the client's daughter, safely gliding off into the distance.

"You've got to be kidding me..." Arianna fell back onto her rear in a mix of exhaustion and angst as she watched her money fly off with the two mysterious woman. She had finally learned what she was, taking a moment to concentrate as her wings spread out form her back. She would have liked to at least figured out why this cults symbol was on one of her adoptive father's books, but chalked it up to nothing important. That book was long gone by now, and there wasn't any reason to think about it again. She slowly stood back up and limped down the steps, no longer worried about any members being left alive as she made her way back back home.

Karina jumped slightly when Katherine complimented her eyes, no one had ever said anything nice about her before. Well, no one ever meant it- they just said it so that she wouldn't get angry and hurt them. However for some reason this was not the case. How could anyone possible find her eyes pretty when they looked like fiery pits of hell? Karina's face turned a delicate shade of red as she followed Katherine as she walked away. She found it odd how they seemed to be attracted to each other so much, maybe it was the fact that each of them was missing something and the other one had it. Katherine had light. Karina had darkness.
She tried to calm down however every time she stole a glance at Katherine her heart beat faster for some unknown reason, this had never happened to the demon girl before. She still wasn't exactly sure about where they were going so she made sure she walked slightly behind Katherine as to ensure she went the right way. This also helped her to resist the urge to wrap her arms around Katherine, for being this far away she couldn't reach.
As she continued to follow she began to think of Arianna, the mage they had left back at the tower. Karina felt rather sorry for her, being left behind and all, but then again she was sure Katherine would have brought her along if she was needed. Maybe she had done something bad? Karina shook her head, it was non of her business. Instead she diverted her attention to the other girl with them, the one they were supposed to be taking back. Karina hoped Katherine would spare her, maybe the girl was just confused and needed a little guiding in life. Hopefully if Katherine did decide to kill the girl Karina would be able to stop her, death was something she feared and certainly didnt want to see an innocent girl meet hers. Everyone sins in their life, something the child of a demon would know well, but no one is bound to go to hell- only those who dont try to atone the things they have done.

Katherine simply wanted to just lay all day and cuddle the lovings out of Karina all day. However duty and back pain stopped her from doing so. Although her skin was nearly burned off, it started grafting new skin. The blood of the angel slowly fixing the wound that she had and thus it would almost be as if it never existed. Still as she was behind Katherine, the distance seemed to make her head feel clearer. It was almost as if a fog lifted from her mind and her holy starvation was fixed for now. What was that girl doing to her? And why was... It then dawned on her, it was because of their magic. Katherine's magic was dark magic from an angel and Karina was holy magic from a demon. They made each others energies edible to one another in an endless cycle. It was almost fate.

Katherine chuckled as she brought the girl home she sighed, the Nephalem had to be paid somehow. However the path given to the mage was a dark one' it was not going to end well for her. Still she made a stop at a post office and made a money order to Arianna Belial. That way she would have no further involvement with that girl. Katherine whistled a merry little tune as she asked Karina, "Now that the job is done, would you like to join me in some tea? I know a nice cafe that serves the most delicious cheesecakes in all Fiore, I swear"
