Face Claim: Alternis Dim from Bravely Default
Name: Odin Warr (formerly Alistair the White, Commander of the Pergrande Army)
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Birthday: September 18th
Sexuality: Straight
Special Characteristics: Has no memory of his life prior to his resurrection apart from the knowledge that he has slain countless demons
Personality:
"I've a debt to pay. Only blood will suffice."
Alistair the White was once a respected and revered man held in the highest regard by the country of Pergrande courtesy of his efforts in fighting against the ever invading forces of Sin. His name was left within the history books on the day he slew a powerful demon, a feat that cost him his own life. But this would not be the end of the valiant knight's tale, although the remainder of the story is perhaps not to be so valiant.
Resurrected by a powerful devil, the reborn Odin Warr is devoid of memory and emotion, and has been set on a path of murderous carnage to repay his debt. The price? Slay fellow humans until he matches the number of demons he has slain. Given how he was constantly on the battlefield from the day he turned fifteen, it is perhaps needlessly said that the number of demons rolls into the thousands.
Now as a tool for the devil's war against humanity, Odin Warr lacks any real emotion towards those he would call kin. However, while he may strike down most men, there are some that he would consider 'useful'; if Odin views someone as being a useful tool then he will spare their lives, instead utilising whatever abilities or contacts they have to repay his debt that much quicker. It is also worth noting that Odin still views himself as a Knight, and therefore acts as such around those he considers to be of a higher station than himself. He will speak to them as if they were his Lord or Lady - often referring to them with those titles - and will do their bidding should he feel that giving them his services would be beneficial to his own endeavours. The Dark Knight is frightfully loyal to those he considers his 'ruler' and would therefore consider any attempts to lure him away from them as an insult punishable by death, something he is happy to oblige.
His commanding prowess is another trait that has stayed with him in his rebirth. His sheer presence on the field of battle creates a feeling of dread among his foes and admiration amongst his allies. It is advised however that his allies stay well clear when he fights, as his magical abilities do not distinguish between friend or foe and he always aims to kill. Furthermore, the more damage that the Dark Knight is dealt, the more confident he becomes. This can be incredibly disturbing to anyone who is perhaps inexperienced in combat, or unaware of the unique powers that Odin holds.
As mentioned before, Odin's commanding presence is a huge morale boost to his allies and his war-driven and experienced mind combine to make him nigh-on a tactical genius. Despite his tactical knowledge and the fact he is held in such high regard, Odin will step back should an officer of superior rank take the field and wish to take the tactical role. Though the Dark Knight won't ever prevent a superior officer from taking charge, he is certainly not adverse to questioning their judgement should their tactics be riskier than necessary or just downright foolish.
Likes:
- Blood; The sight of his own blood is a sign of his growing power. The sight of an opponents blood is a sign of their dwindling strength.
- Battle; Even before his resurrection Odin was a born warrior. He lives and breathes battle.
- Weapons; Perhaps another sign of his love for battle, Odin can fawn over a weapon for hours if it catches his attention. His attention to his own weapons often has people wondering if he's ever experienced any kind of a relationship.
Dislikes:
- Disrespect; As a Knight and as a former commander of the forces of Pergrande, Odin despises those who lack respect towards their superiors.
- Mercenaries; A man should have an allegiance and a direction they wish to follow. Selling your life and soul for coin is a waste of a lifetime.
- Poorly crafted weaponry; If a weapon is crap, Odin skewer you with it.
Motivations:
- To pay off the debt; Once the debt is paid, Odin will finally be free.
- To regain his memories; The fact he remembers nothing of his past is somewhat of a frustration.
- To find a new path; Seeing as how he has no recollection of his past ambitions, Odin now hopes to find a new path to walk.
Fears:
- His memories; While he wishes to regain his memories, Odin fears finding out about his life - and indeed his death - prior to his resurrection.
- Emotions; The idea of being swarmed with emotions that are now unfamiliar to him makes Odin feel somewhat uncomfortable.
- Failing to pay his debt; as he begins to regain his emotions and memories, Odin will become more aware of what will occur should he fail to repay the devil that resurrected him.
