Fina a ring? [Mission]

Raven sighed, splashing her face with water as she was woken up that day by an annoying high pitched voice screaming for her. All she knew was that she was staying in an inn at Oak town where she was “hopping” to get some peace and quiet but lady luck was never ever on her side, she knew. Apparently, someone that was staying right next to her had lost her ring and hearing from someone that she just happened to be a mage, the woman came screaming for her, waking her up from her nice slumber as a result.

Kuroe looked at her with pity as he flew over to her with a towel. Well, you did agree to help her, he said as Raven took the towel and dried her face with it. “She offered me money. I couldn’t say no…” she trailed off as she turned around to leave. She heard that she lost it at the river side or something and that’s exactly where she was going to start her search.

Emy Milton looked at her like a sad puppy as she almost and she swore she heard her almost whimper like one as well. She couldn’t tell whether this girl was normal r not but nonetheless, she was promised some money and all she had to do was search for a freaking ring. The only regret she had of this fact was that she dropped the ring in a river and her ravens can’t possibly go into it to search for it. Ravens were not very fond of running water, after all. She knew that even Kuroe won’t be helping her with it this time.

Sighing, she went over to the river along with Emy, looking left and right to see If she could find something shining at the banks of the river. Finding nothing, Raven went over to the river, before rolling her jeans up to her thighs. “You know, I’m not going to be the only one searching,” she said to Emy as she pointed to her and the running water.

Emy looked at her with wide eyes first. Raven guessed that she was probably thinking why she have to dirty her hands when she hired a mage for doing just that. But the fact that just searching by herself wouldn’t get them anywhere is what prompted Raven to get her in there in the first place. Either way, Raven turned her attention back to the running river before bending down and running her hands along the river floor, trying to see if something that resembled a ring could be found.

She recognized the touch of cold metal in her hands as she pulled a soda can off the river. Huffing, she threw it backwards where an unsuspecting Kuroe jst had to be at. “The hell!” he shouted as he barely dodged the can at the last second, glaring at Raven’s back as she stuck her tongue out. “Well, that;s what you get for being merely a spectator,” she said as she raised herself to go further into the river with Emy following behind..

Raven sighed againa s she wiped the sweat off her forehead for the nth time. She couldn’t believe her fortune. What did she hope for and what did she get in return? She wondered as she sighed again. She could already feel Emy’s glance at her but decided to ignore it as she again and again tried to see if her hands hit something cold round and hollow at the center. ‘What on earth was the girl doing here with such an expensive ring anyway,’ she complained in her head as she went up the river again. She could feel the end of her rolled up jeans pants getting wet with water along with the feeling of fishes swimming past her legs. She had already heard Emy jumping around once but decided to ignore it like always. She simply wanted to find that piece of metal and go back home…maybe back to ST for some nice time relaxing. Surely, it would be much better than this, right?

“Are you sure you had lost the ring here, Emy?” she asked once again as the other girl huffed in return. She couldn’t blame her for she had been asking the same question for the last half an hour. Well, they have been searching for that darn piece of diamond and metal for at least an hour and a half now. She didn’t understand why she was still staying to help. Surely, what was she going to lose by walking away? Of course..she was a mage of ST and she did want to help others as mucha s possible…but searching for such a small thing in such a big place was ringing all sorts of no no bells in her head.

But on the other hand, she realized just how dirty the river has been as she had already found a numerous amount of cans and other sort of junk lying around in the river floor. “Why can’t people keep the rivers clean?”

“I think I found it!” Raven heard Emy call out and looked back as fast as lightning to find her holding a bottle cap in her right hand looking like she was going to cry the next second. Moving over to her, Raven gave her a pat on her shoulder before reassuring her with a small smile.”Don’t worry…we will find it,” she guaranteed as she had no other choice but to look under water rather than try to feel for it.

She took a deep breath before plunging into the almost cold water. She could feel her insides burn for holding her breath so long as she looked around to see something gleaming anywhere around them. She came out of the water with a loud cry as she took in another mouthful of air before going back in. ‘The things I do for the love of..’ she trailed off n her mind as she finally found something glistening not too far away from them.

“I think I found it!” Raven yelled, refraining herself from jumping up and down in joy as she walked into the place she found the glowing thing and felt around, finally pulling out a ring before actually jumping up and down in joy. She felt hands go around her and noticed Emy hugging her as she hugged the girl back. Sure it took them like two hours to find one small ring but she felt it was worth seeing the smile on Emy’s face. Looking at the ring closely, she figured why it meant so much for her too. It’s her engagement ring… Raven smiled genuinely at this as she handed the ring back to its owner. “Don’t lose it again, ok?” she giggled as she got off the water and pulled her out along with her. “Well…at least I know that I won’t be coming to oak for a long time…” she murmured as she made plans to leave the town at the very next dawn.
